Only place I ever go. Im not much use at most things, but I can grow hair like a SOB. Great music, great conversation, always buzzing, and you can still get an appointment first thing in the AM. Dont have enough good stuff to say about this place.

Told him to take a little off the top and he gave me a military buzz cut. This was after waiting an extra 10min from the time we agreed. Don’t go here unless you got pics and diagrams to show.

Like most barbershop Ive known in the city, this one offers good service and the best quality of hair cut and style for gentlemen. I like how friendly and courteous their barbers and other staff are. So far, my experience with them is good and will definitely be back! I highly recommended them, especially Bob!

One of my favorite spots on the Westside to get a fresh looking fade. They take appointments so if you can try and make one. Hopefully soon quarantine will be over so we can get back inside to enjoy the feel of a barber shop. Where we can chill watch sports, have a beer, and get a free therapist. Lol. I don’t have a negative 5 here they mess with my beard, if someone wanted to a clean beard trim I don’t suggest this place unprofessionals a girl cut my beard and hair even I explained to her and show the picture the length in a min was grown for four month of work,, plz don’t waste your time and money it’s not worth it

During COVID, Active was there setting up outside in the sidewalk to make sure we can get a really good haircut safely. You are in plastic and have to wear a mask. All of the tools needed are disinfected and you feel totally safe. These guys have got it!

Avoid Armando. He is a terrible barber. He scratched the back of my neck with his razor, living the skin inflamed and irritated (see photo), and gave me one of the worst haircuts I have ever received (front, back, and sides he didnt listen to my instructions. Other barbers there are good, but avoid Armando.

Great barber shop. Dropped in this morning for a beard trim. Didn’t expect it to be so busy at 7 am and almost left but glad I stuck it out and waited. Well worth the wait. They did a great job. Great little shop and great banter.

Rob & Steve run the best barbershop on the west side. Highly recommend this place - great price and always get a fresh cut from this place. Customer service is on point - it’s clean classic barbershop vibes which is hard to find these days.

Super legit barber shop. Came in and got a stunning cut and beard shape up from Jasmine. Looks like all of the folks here really know what they are doing. They have that classic barber rhythm and flavor. Small shop, but they really take care of you.They even finish you off with a quick (but awesome) neck massage. Definitely my new spot!!

Quick and quality haircut. Great laid back atmosphere with friendly staff; felt more like a bar than a barbershop. Got an excellent cut, and by the looks of it so did the other people in there. Four chairs with four barbers, all appeared to be equally talented.

Been here twice, first visit was great. Got a nice haircut and staff was friendly.Just got home from my second visit there and got a terrible haircut. DO NOT have the guy in the corner seat give you a cut. Hurried through everything, my is uneven and he did not do what I asked.Recommend the gentleman in the middle seat.

Its good to see Steven, who I consider to be one of the best barbers in LA, open his own shop. Ive been going to Steven for years and his haircuts are always top notch (and girlfriend approved). Really amazing fading, edging with a Straight-razor too. When I first moved to Santa Monica, I had been worried to leave my stylist in AZ but after Steven started cutting my hair, I realized what a crappy job the dude before was doing. So I always see him now and he always does an incredible job.The best days to book an appointment are mid-week as weekends are busiest. Also the price is incredibly low so I always tip well because they deserve it and really they could be charging a lot more.New location is great! Right by Whole Foods and plenty of parking.

Poor customer service, walked in they were more concerned with the football game then saying hello, hair cut was okay but over priced. Literally no client/ personal engagement. They also use those obnoxious air compressors to blow the hair off your head- which are really loud for how small the space is.

Overpriced! I got a fade, lasted 10 min and it came out just ok. No wow factor, pretty disappointed. Dude confidently asked for $30. Ive paid less for better talent.

Ive been going to Steven for haircuts since 2010 and Ive known Robert for several years. These guys are meticulous and they wouldnt hire the other barbers if they werent good, too.Steven hand-selected the chairs and the furniture. These are authentic, old-school, heavy ass barber chairs. You may not appreciate that level of detail, but your style will.Active Barbers is located on Wilshire Blvd, between 25th and 26th. It is right next to the Starbucks on Wilshire and 26th. There is plenty of metered parking on Wilshire and 25th. Ive been many times and havent had much trouble finding parking.This place is now on the pricier side due to their popularity and skill.This place is good for adults and kids, young and old, simple cuts and complex shaves.
