They are so reasonable and helpful and they really look out for your interests. I knew I was in good hands when they told me NOT to have something custom made by them because it would be cheaper for me to buy it from Gabriel & Co. A company that tells me to buy from someone else is really watching out for me and, therefore, has my business. Don’t go into this store for watch repair or sizing. First he told me how my cheap watch was made and he couldn’t remove the link. Then suggested me to return the watch and he wasn’t going to try to remove the link anymore. I went to a watchmaker and took the link out in five minutes and charged half of what Melbys was asking. Don’t go to a jewelry store to get a watch fixed, go to a watch store or watchmaker. Especially if they are going to tell you that you are cheap. I forgot, they only deal with “fine jewelry. So if you don’t have a suit on don’t bother to go in.

My other go-to gift shop thats akin to Heartfelt in my hood of Bernal. Great owner, excellent selection, from adult goodies to kid and baby stuff. I can always find something for my intended recipient. A true gem.

My apologies, but I am slightly prejudicial . I am currently the owner. Four generations of Melbys. Arnold Melby, my grandfather started Melbys in 1922 in Lompoc. My father, Don Melby owned the store from 1962 until he retired in 1987. My two sons Aaron Sturges-Melby and Alexander Melby currently work at our store. Both are great employees and also great sons. We strive to give great customer service, and stress quality over quantity.

I called to see how much it would be to remove links from a watch. They said $30.. That ridiculous. I called because they were close. Theres other places that only charge $10 that might be a little bit more of a drive.
