I need work done on my vehicle. After looking up some reviews I decided to go to Stinn’s . I’ve always had my car serviced at the dealership but this time I wanted to go elsewhere. I love this place! He is honest and very professional. He gave me a reasonable price to fix my vehicle and had it ready within 1 day. I recommend this automotive repair shop. I will definitely be returning back for my oil change and other services. I feel like the people who leave 1 star reviews and complain, can’t financially afford the cost to fix their car. It’s nice to drive fancy vehicles. However, it’s the owners responsibility to maintain them.
I have a completely restored 1961 Mercedes Benz 220Sb. It is not easy to find someone you can trust to work on this car because very few mechanics have the experience to work on a foreign car this old. I am very particular and needed someone who feels the same. Gerry Stinn is that person. He first gave me a tour of his shop. Everything was neat and tidy. You could practically eat off the floor. Gerry has a complete set of Mercedes Factory manuals for my car. I gave him a list of what needed to be done which included replacing the whole air conditioning system with an after market unit from Vintage Air, replacing motor mounts, replacing the water pump etc. These were not routine jobs. Everything was done perfectly and I can highly recommend him and his mechanics to work on your vintage European car.
My daughters car was low on antifreeze and after calling around I found this place. Extremely helpful and educational. They they took care of her. I work around repair shops all the time and when you find a good, honest shop. Keep going back. I could not thank them enough.
The only place I will go to have my BMW X-5 serviced and maintained. They are honest and provide an estimate for recommended work. Everything is explained on what needs to be done and why. I appreciate when asked, they list the repairs that need to be done first in order of importance.
Worst experience I have ever had. They made me feel like i was being taking advantage of with no disregard. In all my life I have dealt with small businesses for all types of servicesThis was the worst experience ever. The 1 star should have a negative in front of it.
Been going here for a couple years for repairs and maintenance on my BMW X3. Jerry has a seasoned crew of mechanics and I wouldn’t think about going anywhere else. I found Stinn’s after having another horrible experience at the BMW dealership for the last time. Since then, I’ve never looked back. Stinn’s is familiar with the kinds of problems that develop in my car and who makes the more reliable replacement/maintenance parts. When I first brought my car to them, they did a full checkup to let me know the status of my car’s major systems, the recommended maintenance schedule, as well as things to watch out for. The customer service is far above what I have received from any BMW dealership. Just talking to Jerry, you know that he knows exactly what is going on with the car and that he is dealing with you honestly. I highly recommend him. Once you bring your car here, you’ll know it is no ordinary mechanic shop and your car is in good hands.
The very best. Owner Jerry really takes you through everything about your car. Extremely happy to have found this Autohaus.
I had this company do work on my vehicle on 2/13-2/17. I felt like i was in good hands. my vehicle was running decent i was happy. until 2/18 when i woke up and started my car to go to work and my check engine light was back on. I called and they said to bring the car in but i worked so i had my buddy take it in. my buddy said they told him it has a EVAP leak so my buddy called me and told me which immediately set off a red flag because they supposedly fixed my car. I call them and confirm what my buddy told me which they said that he was correct. So i started questioning them because The day they diagnosed my car they told me there was a EVAP leak and asked if i recently changed my gas cap. I told them yes i changed it about 2-3 months ago. he said okay and i went on with my day and left it in the hands of Professionals which at that point i 100% trusted would do the right thing and get to the bottom of whats causing my engine to misfire and what was causing my evap leak. The reason im angry with Stinns is because they knew about the leak and still did not smoke test the car and sent me home thinking everything was okay (i have paper work that clearly says there is a small evap leak). The only thing the owner kept telling me was that he was sorry and that he works 70 hours a week as if that was a good reason to leave a customer UNSATISFIED and Work that i trusted his company to do UNFINISHED.
Honest. Fair. Reliable. Dependable. Reasonably priced. Friendly. Everything Im looking for in an auto repair shop. When I got my audi back from Jerry and his team, my car was running better and shining brighter than it has in months! Highly recommend!
Great guys here. Very honest and trustworthy. I brought my car in with an issue I encountered on a road trip. They diagnosed it and showed me how to fix it on my own at no cost.
When i take my car in for service i go at ease that thats what what im getting. Not freaked out about what list they might give me of 101 things my car needs. They are on top of it and know they care about my car. They are honest and not pushy. Thats why i like taking my car to Stinns.
The level of integrity I have seen with this shop is amazing and rare in our world today. I encourage anyone looking for a new service center to visit Stinns. I look forward to doing more biz with them in the years to come.
I have a really old car, and they help me keep it running. They do good work.
Amazing service and superb attention to detail! Jerry and crew at Stinns really make you and your ride feel special. Love these guys!
I called Stinns when I was given a quote from another mechanic for restoration work on my bus. The owner, Jerry told me they were a rip off and that he could fix it for much less. I brought it to him to do the work based on his word. I waited a week for a quote. Never got a written quote from him, never signed anything. He called me and stated that they could do a brake renovation, get the motor wired, plumbed and running, do some front end work including tie rods and steering components, as well fix a sliding rear door. He told me he could make the vehicle road worthy and drivable for $4000. I gave him the go ahead against my better judgment not having a written quote. A few weeks later Jerry called me and asked for a $3000 payment for work that had not yet even been done. Again against my better judgement I trusted him and gave him the money after he told me what financial hardship he was under. I then got a text saying were over budget and they did a bunch of things we never discussed. In the end I ended up paying them $3,907.03 for a brake renovation that wasnt even done correctly. The parking brake in the vehicle does not even work. They never got the motor running, never did the front end work (tie rods etc) and never touched the sliding rear door. I also noticed my clutch pedal now seems to not work at all, which was not the case before i brought it into them. I have filed a complaint with BAR and will pursue all means necessary to resolve legally.I hope this review helps others when deciding to bring their vehicles to this shop in the future.
Theyre honest and fair in price I would recommend them to my friends their are not many honest mechanics
So my car overheated and broke down yesterday March 22nd 2018 and I went in to have the car looked at and was told that it could be a leak in the cooling system somewhere or bad water pump. I was informed that all the staff had over 30 years of experience and was informed not to worrie about finding the problem and what not. This is where it started to go bad. I have a aftermarket insurance policy on the car and when I ask if they can work with me and my policy it was like pulling teeth out of them. They were trying to knowledge me that this was not covered and this wouldnt be and that would be but they had no say so in what was or not. It was like they were really not having it, me and my insurance policy and really made me feel uncomfortable about it all. If it wasnt due to heavy rain and my car over heating I would of left right there and then and still wrote them this bad review. Lets continue on anyways, so they inform me it will be $125 for diagnosis look and 1st hour which is a high price right off the bat when knowing a 1st hour of work is usually around $90 not $125 but like I said heavy rain and car overheating not much of a choice plus needed to get car back on road asap for work. They told me if then can detect the problem in 15 minutes theyll only charge me that and see where we go from there. Long story short it turned out to be a bad raidiator cap they told me after well spending over hour off fooling around with my car. They should of tested the cap which let me state they said All my employees have well over 30 years plus experience but they decided to check that last and it wasnt a raidiator cap it was the reservoir tank cap of they know these radiators now in days are all enclosed and no cap like the old days on cars and trucks. Well I walked out of there $153 dollars later for some lost antifreeze and a reservoir tank cap. I was really mad and for them to not check the cap 1st with all staff well over 30 years under belt. I feel like they screwed me good and when I ask to have them cut me a break on that $125 they looked at me as if I was stupid and said why? They were all older men and maybe they dont like dealing with younger guys n girls well probably girls but not dudes because they treated me like a turd. Lets follow back to my whole experience... so when I asked them to cut a break the got mad and was tossing stuff around and tone of voice and body language said it all that he was pissed off at me. Still he should not act like that at all... professional you have to be when working with everyone. I specifically ask that to them because I saw two other invoices on his desk where you pay and talk about you issues about your car and one said $1.00 for service look at because someone went in there thing there head valve covers were leaking and they did the full overview inspection on not just that but the whole car and only was going to charge them a $1 & a other said $6.97 for some similar over look of a car a customer brought in. Here Im thinking they could of checked the cap 1st thing and would of walked out of if the car seem to run right after replacing and I wouldnt have spend $153 on something I could have done myself for well under $50. Most money Ive ever paid in my life for reservoir tank cap. Snakes In The Grass Is All I Can Say For Them & I Will Never Go Back Or Will I Send Any Family or Friends To Them.
These guys are awesome, helped my friend with his bmw wiring in seconds. They know what theyre doing here.
