One of this truly iconic barber shops in Santa Barbara, unfortunately Danny is no longer with us. I got a haircut there today buy a friendly and highly confident Barber. Only complaint is they keep raising the prices, $25 for a mens haircut just seems like a lot.
Great for a professional mans cut, shave, etc... neck rub. Super detail oriented. Each customer is treated with respect and has a feel like an old time barber shop in the sense that you are treated like family
Standard mens cut is $25. It seemed everyone made appts. with Alfonso and the older gentlemen who has the first chair. I would recommend doing the same as I was a walk in and had to get cut by Matt. First thing he asked me was if I still wanted the old man part in my hair that I walked in with. Then he asked me who cut your hair? did you do it yourself?. Overall I was pleased with the cut, but Matt needs to work on his professionalism and learn to filter his words.
Ive been living in Santa Barbara for over 10 years, and Ive been all over the city trying to find a decent barber shop. This is it. Old school; just three guys and three chairs.Jonathan is my go to guy, but Ive had haircuts from Danny and Alfonso as well. They all do a good job, but Jonathan gives the best consistent haircuts. From a guy who just wants a clean cut but not look military it seems stupid hard to find a good barber. But Im spending my time writing a review about a barber shop, so there you go. Best shop in town.
Today was my third time going here and Ive been going with Stacey. Amazing haircuts! She really takes the time and puts effort into my hair. Would definitely recommend!
Been going to Dannys since the 70s. A Santa Barbara classic. Danny has passed on but not his legacy.
Sat here for 30 minutes before anyone told me they wouldnt be able to cut my hari for 4 more hours. I was told walk ins were fine. If thats true, at least tell me there are none available today before half an hour has passed.
Jonathan the owner is the best! Hes my boy.
Will not be returning. When I walked in, one of the barbers (I think his name was Sam) continued reading a newspaper. After about 5 minutes the guy that I assume is Danny asked him if he had any appointments, he checked, said no, then took me for my cut.I prefer to keep my hair fairly long to style. When speaking with the barber I told him this and that I didnt want much taken off, and we agreed about 1/4. The haircut I received overall wasnt awful, but after taking about 3 off (as noted by my girlfriend when I got home) my hair looked nothing like what I wanted or asked for, and it was too short to style.
Dannys is an institution for MEN in S.B. I was maybe 10. They had Penthouse magazine on the table. My dad and I got cuts there. All the way to high school I had a carrier deck flat top from the man himself. Danny
Stacy is an awsome barber! I need to see her soon.
Good haircut. Took me even a little early for my appointment in the busy pre Christmas season. Price fair for Santa Barbara ... a little more than Id expect to pay someone else.
Great atmosphere and a great haircut for a reasonable price.
Very quaint mens barber shop in loreto plaza. Friendly and welcoming. Parking adequate, but may need to walk a bit to get to barber shop. They do take walk ins but best to call for an appt. Alfonso was an excellent barber and gave my father a nice haircut. Good attention to detail, and trimmed his eyebrows perfect. Danny and Stacy were also great barbers too.
A Santa Barbara classic, Dannys has great history and atmosphere. Very friendly and professional staff. Up and coming Israel is a good bet!
Haircut and Beard Trim. The Best!
It is outside only one Barber at a time
Alfonso is always the perfectionist. Been going to Dannys for quite some time now and its always an enjoyable experience.
The very best Barbershop in town. Danny gave me my first haircut as a toddler and Jonathan just gave me my latest tonight!
Jonathon is a fantastic barber.
Ive been living in the Goleta/ Santa Barbara area for three years while attending UCSB. My first year here I would go to The Goodland Barbershop because it was close, that barbershop would almost always have 1.5-2hr wait and one three occasions the barber only trimmed one of my sideburns because he was so distracted with the T.V. and talking with other people. And then a friend recommended Dannys and Im very glad I found out about this barbershop. This is now my go to place and I always get my hair cut by Alfonso and he always does a good job and I find it easy to communicate and let him know exactly what I want. Im not into sports and not very talkative so he talks about other general stuff and focuses on my hair, a very nice guy!Even when I go home for the summer and dont get a hair cut for 4 months he still remembers my exact cut when I return. I also really like that you can call in and make an appointment for free, The Goodland Barbershop would charge an extra $10, all that money for poor service! As long as I live in the area Dannys will have my business!
Incompetent. I phoned in to make sure they could handle me and was told to come in 20 minutes. When I arrived it turned out they were fully booked. Not even a sorry. Ill never return to Dannys.
Israel is the best!! THX for my Patriots free-hand logo!! You ROCKED IT!!
Very skilled barbers. I save my haircuts for when I am in Santa Barbara.
Alfonso is da man. artistic mans cut, go to him
Great cuts and great barbers.
Classic little barbershop. Been here forever.
