Went last night. Not what is used to be had prime rib it was over cooked and dry. Sent it back and they told me that it was all cooked the same. Even had a dry sweet potato.Not going to spend that much money for badly cooked food

Atmosphere is relaxing and stylish. All staff was very friendly. Our waitress, Morgan, was a delight! The prime rib is not to be missed. The best I’ve had in years! Loved it! We will be back.

Steaks cooked to perfection, Great place for family dinner. The chefs worked in a very timely manner. Severs are exceptional and very friendly. Our server (Ainsley) never skipped a beat. Will return!!

Dolly (And yes I know I spelled her name wrong) but trust me you know who I am speaking of. She is the best bartender ever. Her customer service is incredible. We also had a great waitress. Ever time I come to visit and this place has great food.

Our food was half and half. Half of it came out really well done, with properly cooked steak... And half of us had prime rib with no seasoning or flavor that was somewhat overcooked. The loaded potato had a dollop of sour cream and one of butter, no other flavoring. Overall pretty bland food, with the exception of the desserts. They have a giant margarita glass filled with chocolate and ice cream that was really good.

Fried green beans were delicious and not overly battered. Steak was cooked as requested, tasted great yet a little salty. Would suggest that the bread be changed to something more hearty. The rolls were to soft and mushy. I would definitely go again and I would recommend this place to others!

Definitely overpriced! Made the WORST Crown & Ginger ALE ever! Bang bang shrimp was good but not what we expected from what e heard about it. Steak was ok, not great. My honey had the smallest sweet potato ever grown although my baked potato was really good. The iced tea was excellent. A simple RibEye, baked potato and ice tea for 2 people and the 8 piece Bambang shrimp...$82.00 Didnt even have a small house salad...SMHSpent $100.00 including tip...

Excellent service and food. Very enjoyable evening. One other comment, they did have a salad bar pre-covid. They no longer have a salad bar.

This is the third or fourth time that we have gone to this particular steakhouse. It is good, but I can’t rate it 5 stars based on a few things. Every time we have come here we have something wrong. Didn’t get our bang bang shrimp the first time. This time they rang us up for double items that we didn’t get and brought wrong sides, they corrected both items. However, it leaves a negative taste in someone’s mouth if you are ringing them up for extra additions that they did not order. The steak was very tender tonight and we enjoyed the atmosphere.

It was great. Everything was cooked well and tasted great. No salt or pepper needed. I had the 12 oz ribeye with mushrooms, parmesan mashed potatoes, bread, and sweet tea. The tea was great and they left a small pitcher at the table which I love because I drink a lot, bread was just warmed dinner rolls from a package but they were good. Steak was cooked perfectly and mashed potatoes were good. Nothing stuck out like omg I have to go back every week, but it was really good.The 2 grillers/cooks wore a mask, but it didnt cover their bose or mouth, it just hung off their chins. The waitresses were really nice and attentive. Id go back.

Pretty over-priced for the location. Decent quality food (except the salad bar), but kind of bland. Their bartenders are fantastic, super cordial and fun, with a great setting, but I wouldnt visit for a full meal.

Service was good. Food was delicious. We had beef tips for an appetizer. I had one of their chicken dishes. Perfect. I thought onions and rice was an odd pairing, but they were excellent. I dont like bread, but theirs was of exceptional quality and taste.

Did you get a new chef? My husband and I love oysters. Last time about 3 months ago had your fried oysters and they were perfect. Came last night and the oysters were heavily battered and cooked until they were brown not golden like the last time. The oysters were over cooked and battered to death so much so that we couldnt even taste the oysters. So disappointing. Please take this criticism in stride and please fix your fried oysters. Other than that the service was perfect and your restaurant is a great destination in Sanford.Henry and Karen Kennedy

We last minute decided to stop here for lunch... so happy we did! The Bang’n shrimp salad was amazing. The shrimp was served on the side with unlimited trips to the salad bar (which was clean and had everything you could want on a salad), my husband had the beef tips salad. His tips were cooked and seasoned perfectly. We will definitely stop for lunch again!!!

Prime rib special a little expensive. But the slice was huge, cooked right. Our group had fillet, New York strip. Everybody raved, cooked exactly right and seasoning excellent!

Placed a curbside to go, no problem. I got there on time and was informed my meal was give to someone else. Still no issue, however, had to wait an additional 35 minutes and still charged full price. Tried to speak with Steve Brewer, however, he told me that he made it right by making my original order and made me wait and was informed these are trying times. Poor service by the manager/owner. Great service, was even asked what my name was and what I ordered.

My mother, husband, and I enjoyed dinner here on Friday evening. My husband and I had the Chicken and tenderloin bits over rice pilaf with loaded baked potato ( amazing). My mom had the shrimp cheesy grits with the salad bar and she loved it. The atmosphere was very nice and enjoyed the service.

Ok normally love this Restaurant. Went there tonight for wifes birthday and was shocked by low selections of meals available. The service was great. Then the real shocker. They only had small steaks available for choice and prices 40% higher than the price of their large steaks they use to have. My bill tonight was over $100 for 2 meals. The waiter when asked seemed almost embarrassed by the bill. They have priced themselves way out of the market.

The blackened Mahi is AMAZING! The mud pie dessert was scrumptious and big enough to share. Service was top notch and COVID prevention efforts were visible - I felt safe dining here and will definitely go back!

Went to The Flame for a spouses work party. This was my first time. The server was very attentive and kind. Our appetizer round included fried green beans, bang in shrimp and crab bites. All were very tasty. My entree was a 10 oz ribeye. Although slightly overlooked for my choice, the steak was seasoned perfectly and had a great grill taste. Every bite was great.

The sauteed sea scallops were good, as was the baked sweet potato. The food was good, just not the best Ive ever had

Full 5 star dining experience. Weve looked for a good local steakhouse and this one is it. Matt was our waiter. He was fantastic. Took really good care of us. One of us had prime rib. He said it was one of the best he had ever had. I chose the mixed grill. Steak, chicken and shrimp. Yum their grilled shrimp was better than any Ive ever had. Oh and this restaurant has a full bar with several kinds of top shelf bourbons. We will return.

Absolutely amazing! I had flowers delivered and they were positioned just right under the soft lighting thanks to the wonderful hostess! The steak was cooked to perfection and all the food, dessert and especially the staff was so great! Thank you for making my anniversary a night to remember!

Very poor service! I asked what brand of tequila they had for my margarita, she didn’t know and said she would check. It took her 20 minutes to come back with a margarita already mixed with a cheap brand. She forgot to ask. It took another 15 minutes for our food and never returned to ask if we needed anything. Go some where that had better service and food.

My husband and I ate here in February of this year. The tenderloin tips for an appetizer were very good. We both ordered steaks, baked potatoes and got the salad bar. The salad bar was very good. My husbands steak was perfect. When I received mine, it wasnt a steak, was a pork chop. The waitress corrected the error and brought out my steak that I ordered. Other then that error the food was great, service was perfect.

The crab cakes there are some of the best Ive ever had. Scratch that, THE BEST CRAB CAKES! I would classify this place as upscale but still casual. You will be fine with shorts and a t shirt, but I would recommend a collared shirt. Once inside you will appreciate the atmosphere, and then you may wish you wore a collared shirt lol. The prices are on the higher side, but this is definitely a case of you get what you pay for. Worth every penny! Did I forget to mention the cheesecake? Try it!

Okay-in town for a couple of weeks and being a meat man was told to try out The Flame Steakhouse. Here is the review - clean with great service from start to finish. The food - ordered the 12 oz prime rib medium rare with mushrooms and onions. Meat was cooked correctly, but only nine oz palatable and of that 5 were chewy as an old goat; yes I have eaten goat... The mushrooms were cold (not eaten) and the onions warm; must have been cooked separate. Not the worst, but I will not go back soon.

Great service! My steak was cooked well but ruined when whoever decided to load my onions and mushrooms on top of my steak. It watered the grilled steak to taste like a boiled steak🤢 . And using canned mushrooms made it worse. I’m from Texas, I come where we know our steaks and sides. Please don’t make these mistakes again. IT RUINS THE STEAK!!!

I went there 3 nights in a row. They have a outstanding salad bar and great steaks. I got the grilled chicken one night I didnt think it was the best. Lack of flavor. Service was excellent!Great place for supper.

Great local Steakhouse with a good menu selection. Salad Bar is very fresh. Full Bar on the side with great drink prices. My Fillet Mignon was excellent! Cooked just as I ordered it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Looking forward to my next visit.

Weve been to the flame many times and it is always delicious. But I ordered a rib eye steak and it wasnt good at all. We were with the group in the private room. It wasnt done first of all I ordered it medium and it was rare. Im not one for sending my food back so I didnt say anything. Just wanted you to know that. It wont stop us from coming back because I know the food is usually delicious.

We had a large crowed. Our server handled like it was two or three people. Very efficient. Food portions were satisfactory and price was right. The bang bang shrimp and scallops were awesome.

Some of best steak and seafood I have had in a long time. Rivals any restaurant at the beach. Very comfortable atmosphere and staff are top notch very personable and attentive. This restaurant is a must try for the foodies out there. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food and atmosphere.

Ive never had a bad meal or bad service here. I have had around 20 meals .. not one complaint.. Go once.. and you will go back.. Good job Flame staff!!

OH !!! By far one of the best times I have had in a long time. Our waitress was excellent always there if we needed something to drink or to ask about our meal. Let me tell you the salad bar was GREAT.. But the best was I could not decide what I liked better my chicken or my husbands steak. Cooked perfectly, the steak was. The chicken was just amazingly GREAT. I was and still highly impressed with our time there and look forward to going back more often. Prices are perfect for the food you get. It was a perfect time.. I have visited The Flame several times since I started working in Sanford. The steaks are always cooked correctly to order, the sides are awesome, and the salad bar is the best in the area. I highly recommend the blt and salad for lunch. Service is polite and quick and the food is great. I have never been disappointed at lunch or dinner!

Weather you are getting steak or not the food is really good. Ive had both beef and chicken dishes and they where delicious. Great atmosphere and staff. The fried green beans are light and delicious.

Staff was nice, very busy when we went but no wait. Never been before and didnt explain the salad bar, so never got our side salads. But with how busy didnt mind, waiter apologized. Food was great, will be back.

Totally and wonderfully surprised by the incredible service and delicious meal we experienced at The Flame this evening! We had a small group in town for work and wanted to find a good meal...the menu is very low-priced and the building is unassuming, so to be honest we had very modest expectations. It ended up being one of the most exceptional dinners weve had in a very long time, only made better by fantastic, welcoming staff. Thanks for an unexpectedly enjoyable night!

Our food was absolutely delicious!! My husband had the seafood platter with the crab cake. He is very picky when it comes to seafood and he loved it. I had the chicken breast with spinach, mushrooms, onions and wild rice. It was wonderful. Very nice salad bar with lots of items to choose from. Upscale atmosphere and good date night spot! You can dress up or wear jeans and be comfortable. We will most certainly be coming back!

Were in town for the holidays & wanted to take our daughter out to dinner for an early birthday dinner. She had heard from from friends that this was a good steak restaurant. They were wrong... its GREAT!! The food was wonderful, steaks cooked perfectly. Timeshia was the perfect person to be our server. Food was ok but nothing special. (However I did not have a steak which they are known for.) My chicken and sweet potatoe were small potions compared to what im used to. I did like being able to see the grill and the server was great.

Very good steak, I got the ribeye. Extremely nice staff with great customer service. Have an attached lounge, which is nice if waiting on a dining room table. Also have first come first serve booths in lounge and you can eat in there. Overall a very nice local, steak house.

Great place, and they have really good food. I love the steak tips and salad bar. Just a little bit too pricey. The only down side is they dont let you change or pick the sides you want with your meal.

We enjoy our friends wedding reception. No one sent anything back. All of the meals were gdelicious. I like their salad bar. Even when theres a crowd the wait staff kept up with it all just fine. The bill wasnt as expensive as Id expected. I was able to get some great candidate pics of the newly Weds. Its the perfect wedding reception place when you have a dozen people to your perfectly sized intimate tasteful reception. The kids are always hungry first its great when the wait staff is smart enough to have some crackers out, just enough to keep kids quiet but not too much to spoil their dinner.
