Good service, quick & easy, friendly employs and accessible price

Have used Maxwells 6+ times, mainly due to location, which is frankly unbeatable if youre driving through S.Rafael via 101 to any points west. The service is not 5-star, but perfectly adequate. Other than drycleaning and laundry (Im too lazy to iron my fancy dress shirts), have had 2 alterations done here, competently and at a reasonable price.

I had been a regular customer because of the convenient location and drive-thru feature. However, on several occasions I had clothing come back questionably clean but pressed. After numerous poor results, I finally complained to the staff when I got a shirt back with sweater lint all over it! As though they hadn’t even touched it! Plus, my shirts always comeback with the collar stays missing, which is frustrating. After I showed the staff the problem, all I got was a shallow apology, re-cleaning (which is what I paid for), and an empty promise of a follow-up. I haven’t returned due to the poor quality of care and customer service.

I realize that parking is difficult in San Rafael. But when I pulled in to Maxwell, I had a couple texts I wanted to answer before driving thru with my laundry. So I pulled over out of the way of other drivers to safely answer two texts. Thats when, after less than 30 seconds, an employee was banging on my car window. Now I wont bore you with how much I love my car and how much I dislike strangers touching it. I drive around a lot and my car is my office, my living room, and sometimes my kitchen. Its an extension of me. So HANDS OFF MY NEWLY WASHED, WAXED, AND HAND DRIED CAR. I dont go into your place of business and put chocolate covered hands all over your handiwork, do I? OK. So I rolled down my now grubby hand stained window and asked the gentleman what he needed. He looked frantic so I thought he might be in need of help. Nope. He began by saying get out of my parking space! I said, oh, am I in an assigned spot? I didnt know. he frantically explained that the parking was for customers only. I tried three times to explain that I WAS a customer but by the time he bothered to listen, I was so frustrated that I just stared at him in disbelief. Then I explained I was no longer a customer. Customer service. Google it.

Not the best, but they do have 1 thing right: THEY ARE THE ONLY DRY CLEANERS OPEN ON SUNDAY
