I’ve been with this place for almost a year now. The CBT therapy I went through ended up helping more with how I perceive myself rather than getting over the childhood trauma. I was prescribed medications to help my mental illnesses but in order to even get these medications, you have to call the doctor and your insurance and the pharmacy about 200 times each. I’ve been waiting over a week for medication to help my bipolar disorder and I STILL am unable to get into contact with anyone that cares enough to help. I appreciated this place for a long time but with recent months, the quality has declined quite a lot. I would have recommended this center 5 months ago but now I just feel trapped.

This facility is so unorganized and very rude. Was put on hold multiple times by a lady with such a monotone voice for an appointment that they failed to reach up to on time over the phone. Then when doing my intake, Cecilia literally took another phone call and left me on the line, which I hung right after. Peoples mental health and life are at stakes here, and this is how they conduct themselves?! If you cant handle the heavy load then dont take it SMFH. Now I have to go pay money for private services that I can barely afford

I love this place. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for sliding scale mental health services. I appreciate all the staff has done for me & I also understand that when it comes to mental health services (esp in Texas & for underserved communities) resources can be hard to come by sometimes. They’re not “perfect” but I’m really happy with my experience so far.

In the beginning, I was scared for my son just becoming another brick in the wall of mental health issues/sufferers. But they see him and they treat him. It is not only about medication but also learning to manage without medication if that is your choice. I couldnt ask for kinder, more caring and truly dedicated individuals to help my son navigate these murky waters!!

My daughter moved here 5 years ago from WA state. She was turned away from the emergency room in a suburb of Seattle. After she arrived in San Marcos we called and spoke to a mobile counselor who volunteered to visit her at home. My daughter eventuallly agreed to get help at schieb. They have gone above and beyond their duties to see that she gets help. They have a plain clothed crisis officer and I think they have two now. We are fortunate to have this help in our community. Thanks for the people who donate time and money.

Absolutely phenomenal people they are ALL loving, considerate, understanding, & professional individuals. They are excellent with my children as well as myself and my fiancée. I would recommend Shiebs Mental Services as well as The Respite Center here in San Marcos, Tx to anyone that may need help with mental illness. My brothers and sisters in Christ if you are looking for a place where it is completely understood that we don’t have to be held in bondage due to our mental instability. We can prosper and be productive members of our society. They welcome you with open arms and care unconditionally, but you have to want to help yourself FIRST. This place has really help my daughter they have a great therapist there Rebecca who is wonderful with my daughter and I’m able to rely on Resources to help me with any other needs that I may have

I have been going to Scheib Center with my bipolar for more than 10 years. A lady called me in her office yesterday and told me that Medicaid will not pay for me to go there anymore because I live right on the Guadalupe and Hays County Line. The lady kept telling me Medicaid would not pay Medicaid said that I could not go there. It was a lie. The lady lied right in my face. I have been going there for a long time and there has never been a problem. I called Medicaid and asked what the problem was and Medicaid said there was no problem. And when the lady called up there to the Scheib Center they told her that it was some kind of policy of the Scheib Center. I dont know what their problem is. I was in a mess for many years and they did help me to get myself together. Ive had my doctors for many years. And now this? I do not understand
