Twice Ive called and was on hold for more then an hour. The second time I actually stayed on the phone and went up there. Literally the only person in the office was me. Help was promptly offered... but they were unable to tell my WHY THEY WOULDNT ANSWER MY CALL.

I dont usually write reviews, but I was very impressed with this office. Most governmental offices dont care about the people they have to case manage, but this facility was an exception. The wait time was a little while, but I was a walk in. I had to go back a second time for them to fax a file to me after dealing with the incompetent 211 and CHIP number, and they werent crowded at all and the wait time was very short, so it really depends on luck or time of day. The man I spoke with there was very helpful, and the woman who called me after I filed a complaint with Medicaid took care of the problem. Of course, another problem arose, as is typical with this broken healthcare system, and I found myself going here to get help. I really hope this last time was the final time I have to deal with Medicaid for my child, because the system is truly a nightmare. Im grateful this office seemed to actually care about the people who walk in, as almost no one I called on the 211 number did.

I was a walk in on like a Wednesday or Thursday around 11 am and I filled out application and was told I could been seen that day to wait and I got food stamps and Medicaid SAME DAY. Waited about 4 hours granted I was a walk in. Other than that it was clean. Very nice case workers. The ppl that work there seems to really want to help unlike some of the other HHS Ive used in past. You might want to make an appointment before you go or just bring a book. It goes by fast.

This office does not answer the phones. I have been on the phone for hours the last 9 days, and the phone has never been answered. I have l left messages, to never have my calls returned. These are our tax dollars at work folks.

The location near San Marcos has some of the greatest people theyre there are very helpful its never too busy and they help answer all of your questions I was very impressed when I had to go to their office

The sweet lady here helped me secure food. Without their help Id be considerably worse off in terms of food but thats not all they offer. I got help with insurance here too.

I have been there many times,always have to Wait awhile and I was the only one there for that,,just wish I could get some help,other counties help a lot,but they are nice at that office

Been a few years, but will never, ever forget how terrible the people in the front of the office were. I had just lost a business, and ended up in San Marcos penniless and starving.The folks in the front, when they could be torn away from playing around with the regulars, could not care less that I hadnt eaten in days. I was once completely forgotten about, until just before closing time. Like other reviews have said: one person would instruct me to do something then the next person would tell me no, thats not right- start over.One visit, I had just reached an exploding point. Im grateful to this day for the ONE competent act I witnessed in a couple of weeks in dealing with these robots: they got a supervisor. She was intelligent and compassionate and reasoneble; she looked into my situation and I was given minimal assistance, and I ate later that day. Ill never forget her basic competence, and wish they didnt keep her guarded tight in the back.After a couple of months, somehow HHS got the idea that Id received a fairly sizeable payment--which in fact I had, about a year prior, when I was in business. I went back to explain the situation, but was back to dealing with the front desk, who refused to look into my case whatsoever. I was working part time at this point, and it was nearing autumn, so I chose food over shelter and slept in the cab of my 30 year old truck.Ive been back on my feet a good while now, but as Ive mentioned...this experience will always stay with me.Perhaps this office should focus more on folks who find themselves in a terrible spot as opposed to making friends with those who seem to have made a lifestyle of gaming the system. Im as left-leaning as they come, but I saw some people in there abusing the system.Id like to single out the guy with glasses, and the 2 female clerks. I wish I could be more detailed, but it was some time ago, and I cant describe them physically very well. The irony of dealing with gross incompetence to simply eat, after a long, successful career that hit a crazy, temporary twist in the road will forever be infuriating. I hope those idiots rot.

The counselors were nice.But at the window if u r black u still might leave without a carSo many different rules if ur black.had a card to Got white lady at first window came up with the rules.she never asked any Mexicans for i dsoon as brother get to the window u got to have a court order .

Awful customer service. Your going to talk to them and get help with questions and more, and they talk to you like your Dumb or something. When they’re the ones telling you what to do. You go to one and tells you one thing then another person tells you another thing. Do not know how to talk to you or show you respect. They told me to reapply as soon as someone was removed I go today and this girl tells me what are you doing here? I told you to reapply in January. Umm no she didn’t tell me that. And just continued to give Attitude telling me I didn’t need an interview. Ummm I didn’t want the interview they told me at the front to go to an interview....they all need to get together and communicate all this with each other instead of being rude. If no one needed any of this how would they get pay then? They get pay by having people going not by being exptremely rude to customers. This location has been rude all time I been there.
