There are definitely a few perks of living at aspire like being so close to campus, the target underneath, social setting, pool etc. The staff is nice & usually helpfull. From the outside looking in this is the perfect apartment, BUT when you actually live here it is so different!! The shower does not get hot at all nor does it stay hot (& I live in the penthouse)! 2 out of 3 elevators are constantly under repair causing super long waits for the elevator. The elevators & stairwell are constantly trashed so it’s like living in a nicely furnished frat house. For $1,269 a month the units should be larger (rooms look way larger in pics), the elevators should be repaired quickly if broke, the showers should be hot, and the overall complex should be way cleaner!

A very new and elegant place with a variety of useful and entertaining amenities. Signing a lease here was a very smooth process thanks to the wonderful leasing office. Shout out to Chris for being very informative, professional, and all around helpful in making the transition.

I’m writing this post to give major props to the staff at Aspire apartments. Today was move in day! Of course we were excited and nervous, but figured there might be kinks. What!? There were zero kinks. When we pulled in to the garage the guy sees my daughter and says “oh my gosh! Hi maddie! I’ll never forget you. You were the first person I signed a lease with when I got hired last year. That was a great day.” We proceeded to the table to get her keys and the assistant manager Katie was there along with some other helpers. Now Katie is amazing. She has kept in contact with my daughter the last month and called her back within minutes with any questions or concerns. Literally the nicest staff on the planet.Moving in was so easy. My husband and son got all the stuff up and there were so many student helpers offering assistance. Her reserved parking space was right where she asked it to be.When we got into the apartment she had a welcome bag in her room from the staff with goodies and a target discount card. It truly already felt like home and as parents we felt so great leaving her there.So here’s to you, Aspire staff. You are doing it right! ❤️🎉✌️

Aspire customer service is amazing and would hands down tell anyone that it is a great place to live over the school year. with all the amenities you get it is totally worth it

I have a love hate relationship with aspire. as for apartments in san marcos, it’s definitely the nicest. I’d say it’s still over priced for what you’re getting however it is walking distance from campus. Only sign if you’re 1000% sure you’re willing to pay almost $1000 a month to have 4 other roommates because they will hold on to your lease for DEAR LIFE

At Aspire, I love the view, convenience, and location! I am at the center of everything on this campus and I am still within a convenient walking distance to all of my classes.

I lived here for a year and am resigning somewhere else. This is a brand new apartment complex that has a great location and that’s about it. The WiFi has been good for me and the mail system is convenient. Maintenance is usually on top of things and is there to help fast. For a brand new complex, there are many issues. The place is dirty and is rarely clean, there is always trash in the hallways, stairways, and down in the pool area. The advertised hot tub was once broken down and unusable for a few months and is broken down weekly and very dirty. They installed parking garage gates that are broken down weekly so anybody can come in or out. There were no parking garage security cameras anywhere and multiple cars have had parts stolen from them and been vandalized! Paying extra for a reserved parking spot is pointless because you can normally park a few spots over on the same floor. Many people coming in would take these peoples spots that they are paying extra for. There are three elevators located in the center of the building and are often not working. When they do work, they take minutes to arrive; I just take the stairs instead because of how long they take. My shower water never got hot and is cold, my roommates shower has very low water pressure. In the bathroom, I can hear the people above flushing and the pipes hitting the walls as it goes down. The walls are very thin and I can hear conversation and music pretty clearly around me. If you have a unit facing the pool area be prepared for loud music and talking most nights in after hours. It is impossible to sleep when there are people out there when everything echoes and goes right into your room. The people who work for Aspire are mostly college kids and rarely know anything when asked a question. Important alerts for the complex took way too long to get out to the residents. For a brand new complex to have this many issues at the price we are paying is a major problem. They sure like charging anything extra they can and raising the prices to even higher levels is ridiculous. I am glad to move on from this place.The only reason they have good reviews is from non residents being told to give them good reviews.(Resident for a year, using different name)

I would not recommend signing a lease at Aspire to anyone. The location is great, however rent is extremely overpriced! I consistently had problems with the kitchen appliances the microwave would pop the braker every time I used it and nothing was done about it. As far as the building being a green building is an absolute scam... The utility bills I received at Aspire were OUTRAGEOUS!! Paying a green fee prior to move in of over $100 is ridiculous when my utility bills were over $100 per person for a 4 bedroom every month. So beware utilities are higher than what they claim them to be per month which was $30-40 a month. Management was not willing to help with utility bill and was told to deal with it on my own. So if love being scammed and paying an absurd amount of money then sign a lease at Aspire.

The place is nice when you walk into the lobby and the staff are super helpful with answering the phones and maintenance is always quick. However there are stains in the carpets and pet fur everywhere and the walls are thin so if your neighbor is playing music you will hear it. Also resident portal doesn’t always work and it won’t let you change some information or send any complaints or general issues; apparently the front desk has to do it for you and it sometimes takes a while for them to change things. Paperwork when signing a lease was also a huge headache.

THINK TWICE BEFORE MAKE A CONTRACT ON ASPIRE. We moved to my son las Saturday 08/07/2021. The place is dirty and is rarely clean, I saw trash in the hallways, stairways, and in the parking area. They installed parking garage gates that are broken down so anybody can come in or out. Be careful if you make a contract you need to pay extra for a reserved parking spot is pointless because you can normally park a few spots over on the same floor. Many people coming in would take these peoples spots that they are paying extra for. There are 3 elevators located in the center of the building and NOT WORKING. Just 1 was working with a lot of traffic of students you need to wait more than 15 minutes RIDICULOUS . The people who work for Aspire are mostly college KIDS and THEY DONT KNOW ANYTHING.( JUST SAID SORRY, SORRY AND SORRY) with many EXCUSES is not going to resolve the problems. For a brand new complex to have this many issues at the price (THAT IS TOO HIGH) I REGRET SIGNING ON ASPIRE, if you can look for other apartments around the campus it would be better.

Rent is way overpriced, especially considering that half the amenities are constantly either broken or just down right don’t work. The garage gates are constantly broken leaving you clueless as to how to get in and park your car legally in the parking spot you pay monthly for. The appliances couldn’t even last a year, this place is “brand new” and I’ve had constant issues when my oven has stopped working, the microwave stopped working, and the air conditioning stopped working. Their response? The breaker “isn’t strong enough to support the power at times” so they literally admitted that throughout the year I’m going to have to constantly continue to turn on and off my microwave through the electric box and there’s absolutely nothing they can do about it. (And I have, it happens roughly 2 times a month!) Moving onto the showers, when I first moved in there was a lot of talk about how the showers “never got hot”. Well again this is due to the negligence on aspires part as the response I received for the water getting no hotter than Luke warm was “the breaker can’t support hot water for the whole building so we reduced the heat that each shower can get”. So again I can’t even take a hot shower because the building wasn’t built properly. Now let’s talk about the “exclusive” penthouse floor. (I live on it) If you enjoy being over charged for nothing more than to be stopped on the elevator more times than any other resident on your way up to the top, then by all means the 13th floor is probably the floor for you. They “claim” that the penthouse floor has “better” appliances and “exclusive” use to the penthouse lounge. Both of which are extremely misleading... for starters the appliances in the Units on the 13th floor are exactly that of any other floor, absolutely no upgrade in the slightest. Additionally the penthouse lounge can be used by anyone in the building and closes at 10PM. You can not use it whenever you want, and you aren’t getting any “exclusive” access as anyone can access the room. Every single thing in this place isn’t made to last but 3-4 months, I’ve had issues with nearly everything I could possibly use and it’s a “brand new” apartment complex. If you enjoy being over charged and constantly having to deal with maintenance orders then you should sign here. If not literally anywhere else could be a better option! Hope this helped...

It took some prodding, but eventually Aspire Management came through with the gift card they had promised my son. The maintenance team has been responsive to different requests for small issues. Happy that we were able to resolve the issue that prompted the review in the first place.

The community here is great! Staff is wonderful and extremely helpful! It is extremely convenient, having everything within walking distance. I would recommend Aspire San Marcos to any student looking for housing, over any other housing option in town. Highly satisfied and excited to see the successful future of Aspire!

The staff is absolutely amazing!! They are super helpful and sweet. The rooms are not as big as I thought they would be, but I still love living here!

Everyday I look up at the new building, it’s gets better and better from the inside and out! For everything I go to the leasing office, I am immediately greeted and helped to the best of my ability. I don’t believe it can get any better than that! I can’t wait for move-in day!

Writing a review for the maintenance crew: Robert and Matt. They are always at my door the very next morning to help fix whatever was requested. They are quick and efficient and give good advice on how to prevent future problems. They respect our space, and will knock really loud and be patient, rather than barge in like other places Ive lived in. Fantastic employees of Aspire, they are really good at their Job!On a different note toward aspires team, locking the lounge on the 13th floor at 5PM because it was misused by a few residents is not a good way to handle issues. It can feel a bit isolated in this large building and it was really nice for my roommates and I to be able to get some fresh air. I really miss that and will unfortunately downgrade my lease if its not changed, along with my roommates. Although Aspire has a way better building than other living options this close to campus.I tried to learn more about why it was locked and the Leasing Manager who was working at 1PM on December 1st was quite rude about it. Had that liberal arts type of condescending confidence. Not good with dealing with problems.I recommend living here if youre considering it, but pick a room on the lowest floor for the best price. 13th floor is overhyped and overpriced if they close amenities. Will update this if they make the lounge 24/7.

My daughter was supposed to move in on 7/31. Now a week before move in shes told she cant move in until 8/6. She has to move out of her previous apartment by the 2nd. What is she supposed to do for 4 days? We live 300 miles away and now we have to put her in a hotel for 4 days and get a storage unit for her stuff after paying for her rent and parking etc. Oh yeah tuition is right around the corner too. I understand the need to be safe right now but they should have let people moving from apartment to apartment in before people moving from home to apartment.

LOVEEE living at Aspire! The location is ideal, with target underneath, campus across the street, & the square within walking distance! Closets are so big and living room comes with mounted tv. The pool area and gyms are AMAZING!! Office staff is very friendly and work orders are always completed in a timely manner.

The manager likes to talk about lEeD-cErTifIeD and sTanDaRd iNsUlAtiOn but the walls are paper thin. I can hear the conversations and the cabinets slamming of people in the unit next to my bedroom. The walls are so thin that even with a living room between my roommate and mys room I can still hear them talking. The pipes bang on the walls when my upstairs neighbors flush so have fun being woken up to that in the middle of the night. Way too expensive for basic sound insulation to be an issue. And dont get me started on the parking! The turns in the garage are nowhere near wide enough for two cars to make a turn at the same time. I see near accidents all the time.

The walls are SUPER THIN!! You can hear everything in your roommates room and the units above you including them talking if they raise their voice some. Also, you can tell they rushed and made the apartment.. the paint is done very sloppy and is thin too. The apartment doesnt come with basic cable whatsoever nor is water included in rent either. Couches are cheap pleather. Everything they gave is cheap. This place is overpriced, especially for the amount of space they give in the room.

They offered me free chicken, drinks, and various merchandise and apparel. What more do you need?In all seriousness the staff was very friendly, accommodating, informational, and I enjoyed myself throughout my visit to Aspire. The floor plans look amazing and I can’t wait for next year!

Just moved here from CT, this is the highest quality apartment complex I’ve lived in. Three fast elevators, a Target downstairs for shopping, great AirCon, and many other nice features.Update: I’ve discovered some great restaurants close by so I’m saving a lot of money on food delivery.Update #2, this will probably be common knowledge for anyone moving here as a student but as it is extremely close to University campus, you do tend to hear it get a bit lively at night in the complex as well as out on the street as college students do enjoy their late night parties especially on the weekend, the walls are decent for blocking sound so the only noise thats been loud enough to irritate me is the V8 motor club when they decide to max out their engines as they come and go.One great perk about the college community and other staff in general is late night emergencies have always been addressed quickly. One time I locked myself out 20 minutes before an online exam, it was already past office hours but a student/staff member was still up studying in the common area and saved the day with his master key. Another time I called maintenance (after 9pm iirc) and a maintenance staff was at my door in just a few minutes.TL;DR: Been here for two semesters now and very happy with this community and building.

Staff is extremely helpful and friendly, went above and beyond with the customer service I received. The floor plans look amazing and cant wait to check them out more in depth. The Location of aspire is ideal for students as its right next to campus and next to the square.

Stopped by to take a tour with Ashley and she was able to find the PERFECT apartment for me and I signed the very same day! She was SO prompt and approachable. I can’t even express how positive my signing experience was with Aspire. Incredible staff and a super simple signing process. It doesn’t get any better then that y’all. Counting down the days till move in!!

I’m a very disappointed parent at this point.When the lease was signed last year we were told that if they signed at that time, $1,000.00 gift card would be given if the residents didn’t move-in on time. I spoke with Alex and he said they did move-in…. But not on time Alex! YOU CANT BLAME SOCIAL DISTANCING AS WEVE BEEN DOING THIS SINCE MARCH! And I ended up spending more money and time.Over the summer we were advised they would get to move-in at the end of July. Then the move-in for July was canceled. A week before the 2nd they advised that they would have to move-in floor by floor but not till the 6th.My son had to move out of his apartment to a hotel, rent a storage and rent a U-Haul. He moved in on the 6th. I spent $160.00 on groceries before I left on the 7th. I should have just given him the cash he doesn’t have a working stove!! All Alex could tell me was that parts had to be ordered for a new stove… Didn’t know when they would come in and how long it would take to get this resolved. If no one moved in till the 6th. Why were the appliances not tested???

I’ve been here a week and when I first arrived I spent over $150 on groceries only to find out my stove doesn’t work. On top of the wasted money on groceries that I can’t cook, it’s going to be another week before I have a working stove. My apartment also has no curtains so I can forget sleeping past 8 am.

It’s so close to campus and makes everything so much easier!

Paper thin walls; I can hear peoples full conversations in the adjacent unit. I can also hear the sound of my upstairs neighbors toilets flushing pretty loudly. While the sound insulation is still an issue, the manager reached out to me and assured me that if the sound continued to be an issue they would help me relocate within the apartment complex.
