Avis for life! I have rented with Avis countless times. Avis preferred. Car is ready for me. No line. Just jump in and go. Fantastic rates through Amex Platinum. I do with they had some higher end options like Tesla or Porsche.
I ordered a hybrid online and when I got there they offered me something else.

The fires in Lake County and the earlier fires in northern California have left many people homeless. And let’s not forget homeless veterans. I am disabled and I use DMV disability placard. But uncaring elitists at this company, who practice economic class based discrimination chase me out of a public parking spot on Otis Street simply because it was outside of their business. This sort of elite behaviors shows the general lack of compassion understanding and tolerance for people who have been hit with circumstances beyond their control. I guess if you have money it’s a difference
I rented a car last week, it was clean and running like new. While returning they made the process so simple and fast. I am very happy about these guys
WORST RENTAL CAR SERVICE! PATHETIC experience, would never book a rental from AVIS. If there was an option I would give them negative stars.I had booked a rental car for a week and had paid in advance to book a specific car. Got an email form avis saying YOUR CAR- FORD EXPLORER, I show up at the rental pickup and they give me a dodge journey instead. Said they did not have any more in their inventory, the car sucked and wasnt worth the price I paid. I went to Yosemite and death valley with that car, went to LAX to get it changed the the attendant there was rude and did not help at all. This is not what someone expects for customer service. The worst person I have had to deal with! He was arguing with me. The lady at the counter in Oakland airport was rude too, she had some issues internally with the avis employees and was treating us bad! Apparently Avis charged me 100$ for changing my pick up time! I had booked the car for 10.30 pm pickup, I picked it up at 11.15 pm because I was waiting in their ridiculously long line. And they charged me extra, this does not make any sense to me at all. I obeyed the return time! They have charged me twice for the tolls, I havent used it! I tried calling them, in the morning the lady says their server is down please call us later, evening 15 min waiting and the person asks me everything and then gives me another number to call on, then on the other number I wait for 22 mins and nobody answers. I got tired and put my number in call me back list. Its been 12 hours and nobody has called.AVIS IS THE WORST RENTAL SERVICE OUT THERE!! I just wasted my money by booking a car at avis. Pathetic management!
