Being here is like being part of a family. Ive been coming for two years and can see how much Ive grown from my first day but how much Ive got to learn. The instructors here and patient and are knowledgeable in the art, the other students are the same, taking time to explain something or to help you grow. They have no pressure trial classes if you want to try it before you jump in but I knew after my first class that this is the place I wanted to train.
I travel a lot so I get to see a lot of different gyms. This was one of my favorites I’ve dropped into. Warm welcome, great people on the mats, and some good rolls. Highly recommend if you are I the area!
Very well set up dojo.Great jnstructors who know what theyre doing. Friendly, inviting family atmosphere.
Great staff! Leo and Dave are very nice and accomodating! Highly recommend!
Great environment to learn jiu jitsu!
I was visiting from Toronto and was looking for a place to train. My plan was to plan all week but unfortunately that didnt work out as planned. But the one night I trained was really good! The staff was very friendly & helpful, I learned lots of new stuff and I will definitely come back when I visit next time :) Hopefully more often! Thank you so much for being so friendly and welcoming! See you next time!💚😍
Great to place to learn the real Jiu Jitsu and Self Defense. Friendly environment. Awesome
After claiming my groupon discount, I didnt know how much fun I would have by signing in this academy! I started 4 months ago and I can say it has been my best decision. You are not only going to learn self defense, you will also build self confidence. You will make new friends who will become part of your family because you will see them pretty often and learn together. I have never felt so healthy in my whole life than during these months. I love the facility. Leo, our head instructor, really cares about keeping it clean and neat. Im pretty sure we have the biggest mat to roll in the bay area. Furthermore, he always welcomes everyone with a big smile and says : train and have fun!. He and other guys with higher belts are very helpful to ensure we are learning the right technique safely. Our team of females is growing and we are looking forward to having more =).
Ive been training with Gloglo for nearly 4 years now.The gym is spacious and clean. The techniques are traditional and effective. We have students of varying levels of experience and skills. The best thing about this gym is the people. Everyone is friends here and we help each other.Come by and join us on the mats.
Came here to try the free week trial. After the first day, I signed up. The black belts and the owner teach the class, and are very friendly and inviting. We are similar to a small family, everyone who trains there is welcoming and helpful. Been here a month, dont plan on stopping anytime soon! Thanks Leo!
This place is absolutely amazing! I cant tell you how impressed I am with the entire staff and how they deal with their students. My son started at 6 and Dave and the crew have taught him much about the fundamentals of bjj and discipline in such a short amount of time. They also make it very fun for the kids ! I recommend this place to anyone who is thinking about learning bjj or just wants to have a fun activity for their kid.
Gloglo BJJ is a place for everyone. Friendly environment and clean mats for any one who wants to train. No one here is out there to injure you or hurt you but to roll and learn. Good place to train and wonderful environment and family oriented which makes for a great place for everyone.
Great place to train & make friends! Everyone here (especially those with higher belt rankings) is very helpful in teaching techniques to new students. All of the instructors & students make it easy to train hard. GloGlos academy offers possibly the most family & friend oriented environment Ive ever experienced in any gym. Go Team GLOGLO!
I am 49 years young, I walked in to the GloGlo academy weighing well over 325lbs, I have been in sports and martial arts at a young age but I had not worked out in over 20 years, A friend recommeded a good diet and BJJ, I sent a few emails and took the free class. I was hooked, I was very impressed with instructors, They slowly work you into to the progam at your abilities (old guy). I have been there three months and have lost 6 inches off my waste and still losing weight and feel great.I am learning GloGlo BJJ and dont plan to stop any time soon, its changed my life. This academy is for everyone Men, Women and childen, Your never to old.
Great family environment with the most solid Brazilian Jiu Jitsu you can find. Try it and find out for yourself. Trust the technique!
Been training at gloglos for almost a year now and its great. The gym is pretty big and clean, the people are great, and leos teaching style is awesome. I would highly recommend to anybody that is interested in training in BJJ to come check out Gloglos gym.
I encourage anyone to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It teaches self defense and it allows a smaller person to overpower a stronger opponent. Jiu Jitsu can be quite complex, however, and finding the right school can be difficult. I’ve trained at a couple different BJJ schools before finding Gloglo’s and I find that Gloglo’s is the most family friend BJJ school I’ve encountered. People there are really friendly and everyone checks their egos at the door. Hours are also flexible. Gloglo gives the first week for free so you have nothing to lose if you want to try it out and get a feel for the environment.
With the rising popularity of MMA, there are many gyms that incorporate BJJ as just a part of their toolbox - essential, but only part of a bigger game. I found Gloglo at one such gym, and, since I was not interested in MMA, he encouraged me to come to his academy - dedicated to nothing but BJJ. Perfect. That said, if you want to master the art of Brazilian Jujitsu, this is where to do it. The crowd here is friendly and diverse; the facilities are spacious and clean; the class hours are flexible; and Gloglo is a great head instructor who welcomes everyone with a big smile and the mantra of train hard and have fun.A typical class begins with warm-up, learning and practicing a technique that we continue to focus on for the rest of the week, then plenty of time for free sparring, a.k.a rolling. Everyone is free to go at their own pace, and theres always an instructor on the mat to offer guidance and make sure people stay safe. By the end youll be sweaty and exhausted, in the best way possible.Obviously BJJ is very hands-on. One thing about being a minority female in BJJ is that you get over that quickly once you get into the sport. And youll find people tend to root for smaller people - this is, after all, a sport for the underdog, popularized by the underdog (i.e. Helio Gracie). In my 4 months of training at Gloglos Ive rolled with awesome ladies and men alike, and theres never a shortage of training partners (though we could always have more girls here!). All in all, Gloglos gym is a great place to train and welcoming to all ages and genders.
Traditional Brazilian Jiu jitsu taught by a black belt from Brazil. The instructor Leonardo is super knowledgeable in jiu jitsu and it shows in the way he teaches. Leonardo is very patient and down to earth. Ive been here for about 4 months now and I love the vibe! Im a bigger dude and for all you bigger dudes out there this is the place for you. Leonardo matches up all the partners so the little dudes can run away lol. Oh ya, if your not ready to commit, check out their Groupon!
I HIGHLY recommend GLOGLO brazilian jiu jitsu to anyone that is interested in learning BJJ. Gloglo has over 20 years of experience and is extremely knowledgable. He explains everything in a way that you can understand, and he will take time with you until you understand the moves. There is a really good vibes and good people to train with. There is no egos or bad attitudes, just people who are excited to learn bjj in its purest form. EXCELLENT place to train!!!!!
I have trained with Gloglo BJJ for a few months now and it is one of the best things I have done for myself.I was out of shape and I wanted to try to find something that would help me develop discipline and promote fitness. A good friend of mine trains BJJ so I was already interested in the martial art. Once I checked some schools out in San Jose I found Gloglo BJJ and it had some really great reviews on Yelp.I wondered if the academy would live up to the positive reviews and so I called to set up a trial to get my own impression. I can honestly say that every positive thing you see on Yelp or other online reviews are 100% accurate. Everyone at the academy was welcoming and made me feel like I was a part of the group from the very first day. Leonardo is the owner and head instructor and he is very nice, plus he has learned from the best in the history of the sport. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has a rich history with the Gracie family and Leonardo aka Gloglo learned directly from the Gracies in Brazil. The actual academy is a top notch facility. Gloglo BJJ is the biggest Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy in the South Bay. The mats are spotless and everything is brand new, check out the photos of the school to see how big this place is.The academy is perfect for both kids and adults, there are classes at all times of the day to accommodate schedules. I usually train first thing in the morning from 6am to 7am which gives me time in the morning to get to work and frees up my evenings for my family.Gloglo Bjj offers a bunch of great deals if you are interested and want to try out BJJ for the first time. There are some promotions through Yelp and Groupon. I would recommend Gloglo BJJ to anyone that wants to learn BJJ or start to improve their health and lifestyle.
Very good facility, great jiu jitsu with friendly people
