I was very impressed with the thoroughness of both Dr. Maw and the audiologist. Too many doctors today spend all the visit with their head down typing; Dr. Maw, in contrast, spent a lot of time discussing many things with me. I was very happy with the care I received and will be going back.
I am so very happy with all the support for my cochlear implant that Doctor Maw helped me with. Dr Patel for all the encouragement getting used to it.This is the best place to be with hearing problems
I love Ear Associates simply because everyone from the office manager to the doctors care, and care genuinely about your condition. I’ve been dealing with a serious ear condition for year now. This clinic has been a life saver for me and will continue to be while I reside in the Silicon Valley.
I am very happy with my hearing aids !!.these are my 3rds ones and superior to the last two. I have been recommending to all my friends who needs hearing aids to the Ear Association, because you’re the best.
Great place and great people! felt very welcome and comfortable with the Dr. and staff! Great place to visit for all your hearing needs!
Dr. Inserra is the best ENT doctor. She is always up to date with the latest knowledge and a caring individual. The staff also goes above and beyond to accommodate you.
Your staff is very good;, especially Leizel (sp?). Professional, friendly, knows her stuff and gives clients the right amount of her time and thought s for the subjects being discussed. Make sure you KEEP her!
Dr. Patel always works with me, helping me hear better as well as my technology issues.
Had examination on my left ear. Dr. Jennifer L. Maw gave a very dedicated examination and treatment.
Twice in 6 months Behrouz and Dr Maw effectively solved my problems with vertigo and hearing loss. Many thanks to both
My experience with Amazing Dr Jennifer Maw. My dad had been using hearing aid in the past and had pieces of hearing aid inside the ear and wax had accumulated over it. He lives outside US and comes to visit us once a year and i guessing his hearing aid was inside his ears for maybe over a year. I called and asked nearly 10-20 clinics and Dr and not only they said the charge would be crazy high but the representatives were not confident if they would be able to solve or help. When i called the Ear Associates clinic they immediately helped schedule our appointment and bearing in mind that my Dad did not have insurance here the cost would be high, we visited the Dr Jeniffer Maws clinic, when we actually saw her she was not only able to remove the 3 ear pieces from my Dads ears and clean it but also she end up not charging us a penny from us. What a great person and amazing Dr. Hats off Thank you ...Bless You !!!
By far the top ENT and Audiology practice in Northern California. Highly recommended for anyone with hearing loss or or other otolaryngology concerns.
Professional, Compassionate and knowledgeable are the 3 attributes that make EARS so fantastic.
Ive been seeing Dr. Maw for a little over 3 years for a hearing issue and I have always found the office to be extremely patient, attentive and thorough. Dr. Maw has listened to my issues and concerns and taken the time to explain matters to me. Dr. Maw has also been very accommodating, for example, helping to renew a prescription while she was on her Christmas holiday. And during COVID, the front office has worked with me to get my medicines filled when I havent been able to see the doctor personally. I had been to a few ear doctors prior to finding Dr. Maw and they dont compare. Im glad to have found Dr. Maw and highly recommend her and her team.
Ive had ear issues since I was a child. Working with EARS made me understand just how to take care of my ears so I would not have to go every three months to get the GUNK sucked out of my ears. I was amaze at how easy it was for them to make me understand why my DRY ears fill with GUNK and how to stop using Q-Tips, which I was raised on... I love this place and say if you have a question about ears, they got the answer! Donnetta
Dr Maw is an excellent surgeon and a great care giver. I had three other specialists tell me there was nothing they could do for my ear…meanwhile I had a chronic condition that could have turned out to be life-threatening had she not stepped in and fixed the problem… Her confidence and gentle bedside manner are truly exceptional… I would recommend anyone to her that needed an expert. Even Stanford had no idea what to do for me. She is truly at the top of her profession.
The experience of testing was all as expected but the PA I met with was not. He was very interesting talking about stress, posture and a ton of other things that could affect the ear ringing issue. He gave me a ton of resources to check out like Ted talks. Very cool experience compared to a typical doctor visit.
Great procedures for Covid-19. Facilities are clean and pleasant. Staff is excellent and very oriented towards the patient. Things were always explained so that there were no surprises during the procedures. Results were explained well. Staff has been very accommodating with the fitting and training with my new hearing aid. Recommend them.
I was seen by Dr. Farsi. I was referred to him by my allergist Dr. Goldsobel. The office is very good about having your hearing checked before seeing Dr. Farsi. I went there because a couple times a year I would get vertigo. Dr. Farsi helped me with some exercises to do with my head to help prevent vertigo. I would recommend Dr. Farsi.
Got fitted with a new set of hearing aids which matched my unique requirements. A factory rep was there for my follow-up visit to ensure everything was working correctly and that I was happy with the product. Office is efficient with very friendly staff.
The clinical staff here are exceptional. I want to name two in particular, Behrouz Farsi, and Liezel Caliva. Dr Jennifer leads the practice and is excellent, but I see Dr Maw less frequently. I have the highest regard for Dr Maw, she is highly skilled diagnostician and very thorough Doctor.I see Behrouz regularly as I accumulate a lot of wax. He is the best! He cares deeply about his patients and his work, and has given me sound advice on related medical matters.Liezel has been helping me with some issues with my hearing aids. Incredibly patient, and really wants to make sure things are right, no matter what it takes. Beyond the recent technical issue Liezel makes sure any concerns are met, is an excellent communicator and has given me the best care possible.Until I can no longer get appointments with these people I trust, I recommend them without reservation!
My doctor Dr Farsai and his staff really are the kindest and best. I feel lucky to know him. He sat and asked questioned he answered them all and made me feel I would be healthy again. Can’t say enough good things about Dr Farsai and his group.Cathy Jackson
The medical staff at Ear Associates saved my hearing. I am very grateful to them. The office staff are friendly, helpful and efficient.
My doctor highly recommended Dr. Maw after I had sudden hearing loss in one ear. The only course of treatment after trying cortisone shots and drops in my ear was a Coclear Baja sound processor, which required surgery. Dr Maw performed the surgery. I like everything about her. She is thorough, confident, kind, and a good listener. Everything one would want in a doctor.
This post is made on behalf of my husband and his experience at Ear Associates.I was blessed with good fortune on the day that I became a patient of Dr. Maw. She is caring, kind, gentle and understanding. Her questions are precise, easy to understand and, therefore, easy to answer. She listens carefully to patient questions until they are fully answered.I have met only a part of the support team that Dr. Maw has assembled and find all that I have met helpful and professional. Special mention should go to Behrouz Farsi who conducted an outstanding preop meeting with my wife and me covering a long list of items with detailed explanations. We left that meeting feeling very secure about the surgery which would take place a few days later.I can recommend Dr. Maw without reservation for the excellent practice that she conducts.
Behrouz Farsi is THE BEST physician that I have ever experienced. He took his time, listening to all of my history and concerns. He did a thorough investigation of my ENT struggles and found/offered explanations that had perplexed me for years previously. He really gave me peace of mind ... and solutions! I will always be grateful to Dr. Farsi.
Great service. I have been bringing my daughter to see Dr. Maw for over 6 years. She is knowledgeable, kind and thorough. Her staff is excellent as well. The location is always clean and welcoming plus lots of parking.
Berouz Farsi cured my vertigo with one treatment. Very nice bedside manner and very professional and informative.
The services included a hearing test that was comprehensive and a detailed discussion of the test and the problem I was having with ear pressure. I was very pleased with the service and the detailed explanations provided by the doctor. Was not pleased when I received a bill for $70 rather than the $35 co-pay I expected based on the health insurance plan I have.
I was referred to Ear Associates by my PCP when my regular ENT was out of town, and I needed immediate care for Meniéres Disease symptoms. I was beyond impressed by how quickly I was able to get an appointment & by the compassion & care I received from Dr. Inserra. I highly recommend this ENT community.
Attentive, friendly, efficient staff.
They are really wonderful. Friendly staff, very competent and prompt. I was able to get a fast appointment. Most importantly, they fixed me. What a relief.
Always great service!
Dr Inserra deserves a medal in humanity. She is not only skilled and knowledgeable beyond belief, but also amazingly compassionate. The entire staff is great. Thank you Ear Associates!
The staff are very helpful and they take precautions due to Covid 19. I am confident that they are watching out for me. My experience has been nothing short of the best!
Dr Inserra is the BEST! I have a fairly rare condition with hearing loss, dizziness and migraines. I was feeling so poorly I thought I was going to have to retire. Dr Inserra listened and put me on a medicine and vitamin protocol that helped right away. Im back to my old self and working, exercising and gardening! The hearing loss was permanent, but the audiologists (Liesel and Daisy) helped me pick out a hearing aid and set me up. My hearing loss is single-sided and fluctuates a little so having their help and support was really useful. The front desk and aides are all super nice too. I highly recommend Ear Associates. This clinic has been a life saver for me!
Dr Maw is amazing. I had a stapedectomy with her and had great results. At times the office is a bit behind schedule but its well worth the wait for Dr Maw.
Dr. Maw is the best!
I was treated for an ear condition in this center and The process of admittance diagnosis and treatment has been top notch. I was admitted the same day after giving a call to the receptionists and filling out history and COVID forms the receptionists fully complied with COVID guidelines and I was sent to be diagnosed. Behrouz Farsi diagnosed and treated me. He has been a very confident, elaborative, and observant. He explained what he is doing every step of the way and helped me with my treatment process. I am very happy that I chose this centers care.
Excellent service and quality of care. I consulted Behrouz Farci after a bout of vertigo. He was very knowledgeable and took a lot of time to thoroughly examine me and explain causes of, and treatment for vertigo.
The front desk staff were very friendly and I did not have to wait long to get my temperature checked in order to be seen by the doctor. Once in, I was quickly escorted to the Audiologist.
I first saw Dr. Maw for tinnitus in my right ear and after several hearing tests she recommended an MRI to check for a possible tumor which was rare. The results showed that I had an acoustic neuroma which is a tumor on the hearing nerve. I was then referred to Dr. Wong at the Good Samaritan Radiation Oncology center. There he worked with Dr. Maw to set up a Cyber Knife treatment of the tumor which took place over several sessions at their facility. Now four years later the tumor has stabilized and my symptoms are about the same as before the treatment which are hearing loss in the right ear and loss of balance on the right side. For the hearing loss was I was fitted with a Bi Cross hearing aid by Dr. Patil and given physical therapy at Vortex PT in San Jose. It was good that this was caught in time to prevent further growth of the tumor which was pressing on the brain. I am now back to taking long walks and bike rides and hearing conversations.
Ive been wearing hearing aids since an early age and when looking for a local doctor 18 years ago, Dr. Maw was recommended. She is caring, efficient, up on the latest technology and supported by an office full of people who make everything run smoothly. I have never been more happy with a professional. The fact that my hearing has been stable for all those years might just say it all. She has my highest recommendation.
Dr Michelle Inserra is a very knowledgable and terrific doctor. She helped me get over a dizziness problem that had plagued me for several years.
Dr. Maw is an excellent physician! She has cared for my daughter and myself and I trust her completely. Im an operating room RN that works with many ENT doctors from different practices. When it came time for me to have surgery to restore my hearing I chose Dr. Maw because shes the best out of all the ENTs that Ive seen at work. Thanks to her I can hear again.
Loved the doctor and the techs. Very nice office.
Very professional and easy to get an appointment. Thank you.
I really like Dr Maw. They do a very thorough hearing test and had some great suggestions that have helped me tremendously when flying. My ears do not clear for a week after flying. Dr Maw suggested using ear planes—this helped so much!I feel like they are monitoring my hearing loss closely and will provide solutions when needed.
Great experience. very thorough and friendly. recommend A+
The staff and doctors are friendly and professional. The office is clean and ears testing equipments are very good.
Ear Associates in San Jose is fantastic. You can get all your medical and hearing aids needs met here, as well as diagnosing and treating balance issues. Doctors Jennifer Maw and Michelle Inserra are wonderful ear specialists who were referred to me by my regular ENT doctor, a star in his own right. Lizel is my hearing aid specialist, is the best Ive ever encountered. I have have gone to a number of Bay Area Hearing aid practices and was dissatisfied with the level of expertise for fitting and servicing the right hearing aids for me and dealing with my medical ear problems. If you have Lyric hearing aids, this is the only hearing aid practice you should go to. Behrouz, is a wonderful physician assistant also great for dealing with medical ear problems. Nancy in Palo Alto
My daughter Mia has been a patient of Dr. Maw for the last year. The decision to get tubes in her ears was not an easy one but has been life-changing and the best decision we ever made for her health. The entire staff from the receptionist through the follow up care has been great
The Best for all aspects of ear care!
I have been a patient of Ear Associates for many years and highly recommend them. Dr. Jennifer Maw is a very skilled surgeon and has done life changing work on me!
Great to work with Dr. Inserra, as always, and others at this location!
And I have been going there for a number of years. My first doctor that addressed my BPPV was Dr. Deere he has since retired. I now am seen by Barus Farsi (I hope that spelling is correct) and surprisingly enough he is actually an upgrade from the wonderful care I received previously. Dr. Farsi genuinely cares about your health and bringing about a positive outcome concerning your health issues. Staff is uniformly friendly, helpful and competent.
Great facility! Doctor is very professional and kind. She is very patient in explaining my conditions and treatments.
The best professional doctors.
Audiologists and Dr Maw are very good and thorough in their medical examinations. Staff are also very responsive to any needs, such as last minute appointments or scheduling changes.
I have been a patient of Ear Associates for several years and really appreciate the time Dr. Farzi takes to explain my hearing options and the changes in my hearing capacity. Likewise, Dr. Patel is equally clear in recommending options and checking my hearing. I highly recommend this clinic. I also want to mention the excellent front-desk staff, who are very responsive to scheduling and re-scheduling appointments to meet my preferences. This is a very well-run organization that consistently gives priority to their patients. Ann S.
Friendly staff and they make me feel comfortable.
I have been a patient of Dr. Jennifer Maw for many years. I had exostosis of the ear canal aka surfers ear, which ultimately required me to have surgery. Dr. Maw was amazing throughout the entire process. She clearly explained the surgery and provided me with all the information I needed to feel comfortable about going forward with it. The surgery went extremely well and I was back surfing within 2-1/2 weeks. Dr. Maw also has incredible emotional intelligence aka bedside manners. I highly recommend Dr. Maw and Ear Associates to all.
Had a great experience. Thanks for helping me. Very professional, good service.
Easy to make an appointment. Saw me right away. Very thorough.
Very professional and friendly, 10/10 would recommend!
Short waiting time competent and professional treatment just what you want whenyou see a medical professional
Dr. Maw and her staff have been exceptional with all the work done on my four year old son. They have helped me understand the entire paperwork process and insurance information. I appreciate everything they have done for myself and my son. Dr. Maw is wonderful! I would highly recommend!
Lovely people combined with a depth and breadth of knowledge that really helped me get back on my feet.
My 5 yr old daughter got a bead stuck in her ear! Dr. Maw was able to fit her in right away and took amazing care if us. She was gentle, informative, quick, and calm when it came to removing the bead. I would take both my kids back there and recommend her as an amazing pediactric ear, nose, throat doctor!
I have had very positive experiences with these folks. Professional and courteous.
I lost my hearing in my left ear overnight - a condition known as SSHL. I This condition is considered a medical emergency. After researching Otlogists in the area - I called Ear Associates and got an appointment with Dr Jennifer Maw the next day. She examined me and explained the best treatments available and started that day. I recovered a significant amount of hearing in the affected ear which I attribute to her prompt action. I continue to see her - where she answers any questions I have on my condition or the latest research into the condition. Their front office staff is warm and caring as well. I also have seen two of their audilogists - Dr Jacob and Ms. Caliva, Both are concerned for their patients well being and prvoide excellent care.
Thank heavens for Dr Maw! She diagnosed the issues (ringing, fullness, pain & pressure) I was experiencing with my right ear as Menieres. The vertigo is infrequent and manageable. Pain is gone, ringing almost unnoticeable. I follow her sound advise, take my 2 prescriptions (Betahistine & Papervine) religiously and I feel 100%.
I was blown away by Behrouz Farsis communication. Never has a doctor been so thorough, clear, and concise in describing the diagnosis and treatment. After just two visits, Ive gained so much knowledge and confidence in recovering from my repeated BPPV episodes.
Mr. Farsi is a highly professional, personable and empathetic provider. It is a pleasure to work with him.
Nice people, very concerned about providing the best and the right services for the hard of hearing.
Love this place, Dr Maw and Dr Patel have both been great.Dr Patel transitioned me to my hearing aids. She is very friendly, patient and helpful and she got me started on aides the are made to work with my TV and my IPhone. My world has changed - I can hear my phone calls, and late night tv no longer keeps anyone else up as I can mute it and it still plays in my ears. Thank you Dr Patel!! ❤️
You all were so helpful for this older guy. Graciously patient with myextra phone calls from downstairs receptionist to the girls upstairs. Will be in next week, the 21st. for pre-op. Sincerely, Paul Barton
Quick, competent, effective service
They provide good service. They have a good Audiology Department. The doctors take their time listening to all your concerns and do their best to answer all your questions.
Doctor Inserra is the best around! Everyone in the office is super nice and accommodating.
Excellent service and staff.
Great care and service.
Behrouz Farsi is an awesome practitioner who provides excellent patient care, educates holistically, and treats patients very well. He took the time to draw out the situation and where we should go with my health as it relates to my ears and sinuses. I am a life long patient with Surfers Ear and require a lot of attention and patient care. Thanks Behrouz! I feel like you are a critical part of transforming my health!
Great place. Staff are very friendly and Helpful.Dr Maw is wonderful.
Dr Ma is great. Only negative is they are often running behind. But I guess it works for you as she spends the time to answer any questions
I am really happy with the care Ive had here. First of all, they are very timely. Im not sitting in an office for a million years. Second - the staff is very friendly, and very clearly care about patients. After my first appointment, they knew me and recognized me. Also - when you have a complication (my fault didnt follow instructions well after surgery) they were quick to act but didnt make me feel like the complete idiot I was. Special shout out to anjelica... She wins all the awards for patience kindness and humor. (As well as health knowledge). I cant say enough about how happy I am to be a patient of this office.
The team of nurses, assistants and the Doctors are fantastic, the very best. Thank you so much for the excellent care. I am so happy.Rebecca Lundberg
Every one, from the front desk to all the surgery staff have been kind, informative, patient, and technically excellent. Dr. Maw and Dr Ewing explained everything very well. The PA, Behrouz, is over the top wonderful. When I have been overwhelmed, they have stopped, put down the device and sat with me. i have cried alot in this office and have felt supported in a very difficult time. the experience has been much better than expected, because of the people. The surgery itself was done to perfection.
I have been so impressed with the services I have received from Ear Associates. Several family members have gotten their ears cleaned by Behrouz. He is so knowledgeable and he takes great care to make sure you are comfortable and can tolerate the cleaning. Through talking with him during these sessions I decided to finally get my vertigo treated. Behrouz has been AMAZING! Again, educating me and supporting me so I had complete confidence in his abilities. I suffered with vertigo for about 9 years and had great fears because it is so horrible when it activates. I am vertigo free now and have regained activities that I lost during that time. So wonderful! During our appointments it came out that I have significant hearing loss, and have had for my whole life. He gave me research and again, caring support and I made an appointment for hearing aids. I worked with Dr. Patil who is also wonderful, caring and knowledgeable. I am in my second month with my new hearing aids and I am so happy I got them . . . and my family is too! I was missing out on so much. I cannot recommend Ear Associates enough! Their front desk staff is also very kind and helpful. Just a great vibe in this office - and really knowledgeable, caring staff! Highly recommend them!
Everyone is very nice and polite. Doctor very knowledgeable, and patiently answered all my questions.
This was a fantastic healthcare experience. Behrouz Farsi was just phenomenal. Thank you so much!
Contemplating ear surgury. Great experience so far. Dr. Maw is professional, knowledgable, experienced, and honest, and has excellent medical equipment.
I went in for help with my benign positional veritigo - the staff was thorough and professional . Dr. Dear provided great information, provided treatment, and I havent felt better.
Fantastic doctors, friendly efficient staff
Dr. Farsi is excellent and very caring.
I have been an avid viewer of reviews for many years and have considered writing reviews on numerous occasions. However, ultimately I never did. This is my first Google Review. I dont think its an overstatement for me to say that Dr. Maw and all the staff weve worked with, e.g. Kelly, Behrouz, Liezel, Nelly, Nicole, Karina, and others have been the most amazing doctors and support staff Ive come across my entire life. Please let me explain:My wife, who is 37, unexpectedly became deaf a few months back. It was shocking and a huge life change for us. Through the process we feel blessed and grateful to have found Dr. Maw. My wife began losing hearing quickly in one of her ears as a result of a rare genetic condition called Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss. I remember it began happening on a Sunday night and her hearing kept getting worse on Monday morning. I immediately called Dr. Maws office (Ear Associates) expecting that Id have to wait a few days, at the earliest, to get an appointment.I explained my wifes situation to Nicole at the front office, who was very friendly. Even though Dr. Maw was booked solid that day, she made time to see my wife at the end of the day. I was expecting to only see Dr. Maw for a few minutes since she was booked, but she carved out time and spent what seemed like 20-30 minutes with my wife. In addition, we spent another 30-45 minutes doing tests with an audiologist at the clinic who was very friendly and listened to us thoroughly. We started the suggested course of action from Dr. Maw immediately since people experiencing Sudden Hearing Loss only have a few days to take corrective action, and even then, the chances of hearing coming back are slim. Dr. Maw carved out generous time on subsequent days that week and we came back a few more times to get follow up treatment to see if hearing could be restored. Even though my wifes hearing did not return, we both felt Dr. Maw and her staff were ultra attentive and did everything they could and what research has shown to be most effective (I did some homework on that online as well). With my wifes hearing completely gone, Dr. Maw suggested Cochlear Implants as an option. Dr. Maw and her staff are very knowledgeable on implants. They werent pushy and even gave references to several former patients that volunteered to share their experiences on getting implants, which was very helpful. My wife decided to get the implants and the added benefit with Dr. Maw is that she performs the surgery. Of course, I reference checked Dr. Maw with several friends of mine who are doctors. She is widely known as one of the best in her field. What struck me as even more impressive, was Dr. Maws awesome bedside manner. Even though shes a badass at what she does, she comes off as patient, attentive, caring, and genuinely wanting to help. My wife just completed cochlear implant surgery on both ears and Dr. Maw performed the procedure very well. She records a video of the procedure and shares pictures. It was a long procedure and there was a risk that my wife could lose feeling in her facial nerves or taste. Knowing that, Dr. Maw took longer than anticipated and was extra careful in not damaging any nerves. It has been 1 week since my wife got her implants activated and already she is able to recognize sound and hear things, which is a monumental change from being deaf and not being able to hear anything. I could write more, but in summary:Front Staff: Friendly, patient, helpful, accommodatingDr. Maw, Kelly, Behrouz: Friendly, patient, super attentive to our needs, spent the time to learn about our situation, asked good questions, great bedside manner. In summary, Dr. Maw and the Ear Associates staff have been a blessing and were very grateful for their attentiveness to my wife and helping her regain hearing again. God Bless!
Reliable fast service.
Excellent service
I tried to get my daughter in to see Dr Maw, as shes had repeated ear infections and we are considering tympanostomy tubes for her and wanted to hear Dr Maws opinion based on her history of ear infections and hopefully an inspection of her ear drums.Unfortunately they seem to have a non-flexible policy of requiring a hearing test before we can actually see the doctor, no matter what the purpose of the visit is. My daughters ears are still hurting from recent infections (with ear drum bursting twice) and we do not want to subject her to a hearing test unless the doctor herself can explain the reason why this is a necessary requirement to advise us on tube surgery. Other doctors have advised us to wait for a few weeks after an infection clears before doing a hearing test as it can take that long for the fluid to drain and to regain hearing. Doing a test too early after an infection is therefore pretty useless. With no reason other than its our policy I have no other choice but to think the hidden reason is purely revenue-based to force a hearing test on clients as a prerequisite to even talk to the doctor.I had been wanting to meet Dr Maw based on a review I read about a parent having similar issues with her children, but it looks like its not going to happen. After speaking with the staff, I now understand all the negative reviews that explicitly call them out (on another review site). I only spoke with Nicole S and I agree with the other reviewers that pleasant communication is not their strong suit.
