I tell everyone about Functional Performance Fitness. The classes are challenging and well thought out. I always leave feeling stronger when I leave and Vinh has a way of motivating everyone to push themselves. Its a good combo of strength and cardio, too! 10/10

Best gym and high-intensity interval training I’ve ever been to. I started going to Functional Performance Fitness through ClassPass in 2018 and absolutely fell in love with the classes and instructors and am now full-time member going 3x a week.Vinh and Drea are always so energetic, motivating, and knowledgeable. Every day is focused on a different body group and every week there are new exercises so you never get bored. There is always fun, upbeat music playing and Vinh and Drea are always so friendly and there to help you meet your body goals.I’ve sampled many different high-intensity interval trainings at other gyms, but none of them compared to the organization and workouts of Functional Performance Fitness.I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a good, instructor-led workout. You won’t be disappointed.

I joined this gym in September, realizing that I needed an extra push to get myself feeling healthy again. John and Vinh are great. They do a thorough explanation of the workout, modify the movements based on previous injuries, and pump you up the entire workout. I have lost 20lbs since joining by being committed to going to class at least 4 days a week. My healthy journey is slow and steady, but within weeks I felt so much better. The others who go are great and all egos are left at the door. Everyone is friendly and considerate, which makes the workout more tolerable when you have someone there who motivates you (because some of them are killer workouts and you will want to quit after the first round). But the soreness and sweat are worth it in the end.

I met John Rodriguez in May 2017 when I was searching for my next personal trainer. I started personal training when I was living in NYC in 2007 and ever since then Ive been committed to one on one training as its been the best way for me to see real results and a noticeable change in my body. When I left my last gym in April of last year, I searched high and low for my next trainer. Ive worked out with some fantastic trainers so I will admit I am very picky. After speaking to John about his health and fitness philosophy, I knew I had met my next trainer. I will never forget my first workout when after 15 minutes I looked at the clock and he said thats not going to make the time go any faster. I laughed and got back to work. John has a great ability to know how far he can push you. Sometimes its intimidating but I love pushing myself and feeling a sense of pride knowing I had completed something I didnt think was possible (Im 51). One of the other things I love about Functional Performance Fitness, is that I can supplement my personal training by taking advantage of their group training classes. Their trainers put together these awesome workouts that are action packed and always different. The workouts are super fun and challenging but youre accompanied by good music and good people and the combination gets you through the hour:) Last but not least, John is one of the nicest people youll ever meet and he makes working out more fun and who doesnt like that.

I have been working with John (owner of FPF) as my personal trainer for almost four years. In those four years, I have achieved a total body transformation. John is skilled and an excellent training professional. He motivates and inspires me to always try to achieve more. He sets the bar high, but you get results. This is definitely the place to be if you have fitness goals that you want to achieve.

Trying FPF had been a highly anticipated event and they did not disappoint. I had one of the best workouts of my life and love that every workout is different. You’ll never get bored and your muscles/progress won’t stagnate. If you’re looking for a good push with excellent trainers, this is the place. The community aspect is encouraging and people are supportive. I have worked with Vinh Le in the past with excellent results and am excited to return to my workouts with him. He and business partner/co-owner John have done an excellent job in creating a new and UNIQUE place to maximize fitness. They genuinely care about helping members reach their goals. (Nutrition advice is included with membership!)

John Rodriguez is the man! I wanted to be trained by a professional who does more than just putting someone through a tough workout. He listens and identifies your goals; composes a program to meet those goals; and motivates and encourages you along your “fitness journey.” John has a passion for fitness and he brings energy and optimism to each training session. He is more than just a “trainer,” he is a motivator and a mentor. I highly recommend John.

Functional Performance Fitness took over their current location when Red Dot Fitness, a very successful fitness studio that was there previously, grew too large for the space. These guys are now contacting Red Dots clients through social media, hoping to get them into their studio. I like to think that the small businesses and locals in Willow Glen hold themselves to a much higher standard. Desperation before theyve even had their grand opening ... Zero stars.

I was looking to strengthen my back and get serious about shaping p after years of weight gain following a back injury. So I looked for an expert and found John Rodriguez. My biggest fear was having a trainer who would push me past my limits causing re-injury of my back and neck.Despite my age (I am over 60 years), John has helped me to lose all - and more - of the weight I wanted to shed by dropping over 20 pounds, and eating healthy. I went from a size 10 to a size 2!What I like best about working with John is that he is an expert at taking an out-of-shape body and turning it into a a figure that matches what his client(s) envision. He focuses on what the client needs, tailors nutritional and workout programs specific to each client, and modifies his approach based on results. In every session, whether group or individual, John modifies or creates exercises to fit the clients needs. I have been been hurt in the years that I have trained with him. I can trust John to push me to do exercises that I am afraid to tackle. He is so knowledgeable that I always feel at ease.When I hit a plateau in my weight - he told me what I needed to do to get past it - by modifying or sticking to my diet; one that my doctor approved as well. Trusting in his expertise has changed my figure, increased my energy, given me new confidence, and even improved my sleep!I am lucky to have found John, and I would recommend him to anyone who is serious about getting in shape. That is why I stayed with him as my personal trainer. He motivates me and we get results!

When my wife dragged me (kicking & screaming) to Functional Performance Fitness (FPF), I was very skeptical. After the first couple of sessions, I am hooked now. John & Vinh, who are the amazing coaches of FPF, take care of their members health and fitness seriously. They have an amazing attitude and professionalism, which sets them apart from the large fitness chains popping all over the place. If anyone is looking for a fitness gym where the coaches really care about your health & fitness, look no further - just SIGN UP. You wont regret it.

This place is amazing! John, Vinh, and Drea really care about the success of their clients. They always have the gym open, and set up ready to go on time (unlike another gym I went to where the trainer would show up at the time the class was supposed to start).They have great classes and times (5am being the earliest), and their patience with me is amazing. I’m a complainer and they seem to tolerate it!I look forward to continuing working out at FPF, and will do my best to get others to sign up, as it’s an AMAZING place to be.

I have been very impressed with John Rodriguez and his high-level of professionalism. He is the owner of a new gym in Willow Glen; Functional Performance Fitness! My husband and I had been looking for a good trainer closer to home when we discovered John. We were previously members of Courtside in Los Gatos.I have been training with John now for 1 year. I signed up in March of 2017. My body has definitely transformed. I am much stronger and feel healthier; he has made a big difference for me. I lost 13 pounds, lowered my body fat and I have better balance. John is an excellent coach. I have pushed my self much harder than ever before. John is motivating and results driven.What I really appreciate about John is how focused he remains during the entire hour of training. He makes sure your posture and positioning is correct. He pushes you to work harder to reach your goals. I admire his outstanding attentiveness to his clients. I highly recommend John Rodriguez and love his new gym facility (FPF). You will too!!
