This is definitely one of the nicer courtyards I have visited. The rooms and hotel are well-maintained and clean. The hotel has a bit of a sense of style and there are a few shops and restaurants nearby. Short walk to downtown Mission and other San Fran landmarks.

If I could give this no stars I would . This was hands down the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. We checked in around 5 with my kids after being at the California Academy of Sciences all day, so naturally we wanted to relax before going to dinner. Our beds were covered in hair and makeup smears . As If someone flipped the comforter over and didn’t think we would notice. We stripped the bed and on the mattress cover there was large amounts of black hair… to make it worse we went into the bathroom and there were baby cockroaches. I called downstairs and expressed my concerns hoping I could get into a new room and was told they were busy and couldn’t help me. I went downstairs and was not happy. They kept telling me they would send someone upstairs because they didn’t want me voicing what was goingOn in front of other customers . We waited over an hour and a half to have someone help us on the meantime we had our kiddos sit on our suitcase on the floor. We even called a few more times. We gave up and went to dinner we came back around 9:30 and our room had not been touched. No clean sheets. The dirty sheets we had taken off were still in the hallway. I was livid at this point I went downstairs and they told me a manager would not be in until 10am. They sent someone to send clean sheets to us but it took them 5 trips to bring everything we needed . Ans we had to change the beds ourselves. And guess what MORE BUGS .The bugs looked like they were just in the bathroom. And if we weren’t so tired I would had just left, I didn’t realize they were baby cockroaches until I got home and looked them up. We kept the bathroom door shut and went to bed. I didn’t get much sleep because I felt disgusting. In the morning my husband went to use the restroom and the amount of bugs in there made us pack up and leave first thing. No showers no brushing our teeth just gone we didn’t even want the kids in there. I went to the front before leaving and was told a manger would not be in until 3. The lack of concern the people that work there showed was absolutely gross . For this being a Marriott I’m in disbelief . I’mUnable to attach video and pictures but I have a ton that i will post on yelp .

I reserved a room for my daughter here and there were bedbugs in her room. After taking all the covers off the bed and searching it she found the sheet was also dirty but not visible since it was tucked under the bed tightly. My daughter put one of the bugs in a baggy to show the front desk and they did not take it seriously. They were rude to her and said the bug was just a cockroach which shouldn’t even be acceptable either.I tried to submit a formal complaint on the website but had no luck as the person that emailed me back was just as rude.To top it off, my daughters stay in SF was unexpectedly extended. Since we don’t know the city and other places were booked she felt it was best just to stay this hotel. Each time I extended her stay I was charged 100 deposit. I was also charged valet each time. My daughter doesn’t even own a car. She was traveling internationally and took an Uber to the hotel . Weeks later I still have not received s refund for my deposits or valet parking fees. This place is horrible. I do not recommend it. Their customer service is the worst as well!

HORRIBLE!I made a reservation here to stay the night since my mom had surgery in the morning and is in no condition to travel, and I get here only for them to tell me they overbooked their rooms. The room with the TWO beds I paid for are no longer available. I’m told I can be given a room with a SINGLE bed instead. I explain my situation and am met with the same response. ONE BED when I paid for TWO BEDS! I try to find another solution where I should be given TWO rooms with ONE BED EACH instead considering the fact that I paid for TWO beds! I need those two beds! My reservation, just like any other customer’s, should always hold true, stay valid and respected! Not sold to another customer!Melande at the front desk and the supervisor Ada, who didn’t even bother to appear in person and was communicating via the phone instead, were of no help whatsoever, telling me I could only get ONE bed when I paid for TWO.Truly disappointing service! I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to ANYONE after this experience. Anyone who checks in here runs the risk of getting something less than what they paid for, which is extremely frustrating. I’d give ZERO STARS if I could.

DO NOT STAY HERE.This establishment is rude, dirty, and incompetent. I was given a room that had FLIES in it. They did not give us a room key stating that the machine was broken for all of three days. Not to mention, they refused to give me a printed invoice of my payment! I received numerous fraudulent charges from them and finally received an email invoice almost a week later!!The front desk woman is overly rude and condescending. And when confronted about her less than likeable attitude, she was even more disrespectful! They run this Marriott like the hostel down the street from it. I was better off staying anywhere else for a significantly cheaper price!Do yourself a favor and PLEASE go somewhere else.

We had a room in a basement, and this was something new for us even though we’re from New York . We asked for another room they said they fully booked. No apologies. The website didn’t say anything about the basement either . I would pay extra and get a normal room if I knew. The parking was the most expensive on the block - 60$+tax, I checked other hotels - 40$ . We found a parking around the corner for 30$ for 24h. Lastly there was only one towel in the room. I called reception to ask for another one. They said we need to come up and get it because it’s only one person on the reception. We came up there were 2 of them and there was someone at the back. I don’t think I will ever use Marriott services again

This was a really nice room. The beds were super comfy, and the Paul Mitchell products in the bathroom were a nice touch as well. The bathroom was spacious, though I wouldve loved a tub instead of just the shower. The view left something to be desired as it was literally the top of the adjacent building. This room was also attached to another room with a dual locked door connecting them. There just so happened to be a very loud family occupying it, and I could literally hear every word spoken. So, not too great on the privacy vibe. The flat screen TV pulled out on an armature instead of being hooked onto the wall, so that made things very easy connecting my laptop via HDMI, so major kudos to whoever made that decision. The front desk people really had their work cut out for them. There happened to be quite a few very demanding and imo, rude patrons visiting so I found myself waiting for quite some time to be checked in (20 mins), and after to get fresh towels (another 20 mins). They work with what theyre given but as advice Id suggest quickly checking in to see what the people waiting are needing to better gauge if their request is doable simultaneously to pandering to numerous squeaky wheels.I dont have a car so I cant chime in about the parking situation, sorry.Overall it was quite a nice experience with a few rough spots that were easy to get over. Great place, great employees. Amy, youre awesome, keep up the wonderful customer service!

I checked in having been displaced from my present home temporarily I had several bags with me and an electric scooter and I didnt look like a typical seasoned traveler. With over 3 million miles flown and 600 hotel stays in almost a hundred cities, I would say I qualify to be considered seasoned, marinated and overcooked. Was having a difficult day. Still here. The room is small but nice. The bed is comfortable the temperature control is excellent which is a rarity in San Francisco. Room space is tiny so its really a place for one person, two people run into each other over here unless they take turns getting out of bed one at a time. (Im exaggerating a little bit)You may want to request a little bit bigger room if theres two of you and have some luggage. The reason for the five stars is that for me friendly customer service Trumps everything. I was frustrated with the internet. The adapter configurations from my computer and the hotels were not playing nice with each other, my firewall was blocking display of their home screen and an internet savvy person like myself was hungry and frustrated. However, the tall blonde lady on duty Saturday night the 21st changed everything. She immediately got a hold of tech support who called me immediately, I got frustrated with them too because basically I was hungry. Things werent going well and I almost wanted to be ticked off at this point, the young lady very graciously disturbed my desire to let frustration win, and quickly rerouted and de-escalated my mood into Happy. She contacted support again which had been disconnected, got them to call me back on my cell. She did it all without huffing and puffing and absent where all the jaded sarcasm - rich looks I might usually be a catalyst for when Im HANGRY. My firewall configuration dispute with their system at this point in my eyes was similar to the middle East conflict. My firewall protective demons were not playing nice but tech support found a compromisewhich satisfied my elite firewall sadistic bouncers and my VPN ( virtually penniless network) which connects with other covid-19 casualty business owners. In conclusion customer service at the courtyard Marriott then got me ice so I can have a cold beverage the Marriott lady and Tech support would just not let my desire to continue to be marinating in misery overtake me.Even if the bed was not as comfortable as it is and the temperature not as comfortable as it is the customer service in my time of need alone would bring me to the point where they deserve the five stars. Exceptional customer service especially in the hospitality industry makes all the difference in the world . No caveats.

The hotel is a bit of a walk from Market Square. Started out our family trip in San Francisco and was not impressed with its service. After experiencing a trip abroad for the same price per night with warm personable service, it’s easy to see that maybe they’re just here to earn a paycheck and go home. There is no interaction with front desk. The company could do more for hospitality training especially in San Francisco and with high prices. The hotel has no appropriate complimentary coffee with cream or water in room which is questionable. For two beds there was only one shampoo and one conditioner and one bar of soap in the bathroom. I had to ask for lotion and extras. The room is very small for 3 people let alone 4. The beds being full size was hard for two teens. There is a small shelf in the bathroom that helps. The Farm Table across the street is a much better option than the breakfast bar in the hotel. I would skip this place if looking for a nice family stay. The hotel itself is immaculately clean and has very trendy interior (paint splash wallpaper and colorful photographs/prints). The beds are very comfortable, and the pillows are surprisingly supportive for hotel pillows, as well. The staff is quite attentive and kind, and the convenience of the location is great. My only criticisms would be that there isnt a ton of space to put things down, especially in the bathroom (very little counter space or areas to hang towels), but this is probably because the building itself is an older style (but again the rooms are renovated and nice). The towels are also a little cheap (but are clean, of course). I would say four adults in one room is a little tight, but it is definitely worth the price to be in central San Francisco.

The staff there were professional, courteous, and so helpful. They were a part of why we had such a great time. The staff at the front desk I am not sure of their names but were incredibly helpful. They helped with every question and went I feel above by giving excellent recommendations to activities and places to eat. I have never been there before and they helped us fall in love with the city. I felt extremely comfortable at any time to ask them because they were personable and approachable. They remembered my name and even asked how things went on our excursions. They were the best I have encountered in all my years of traveling. Thanks You!!!!

Updated modern rooms for SF at a great price. Rooms are a bit small, but at this price, thats what youre going to get. I loved the modern styling and it was just the right mix of modern and classic. The only downside is the hot water actually wasnt super hot. Id turn it most of the way up and it was warm enough, but that was at the upper end of what hot water was available. Also, the location is on the edge of the tenderloin so just know where you are!

Room was fresh, clean, updated, decent size, and in a generally central location. Other aspects did not feel up to par, however. The café is a joke. Food was prepared using a fast oven/microwave machine and was clearly not fresh. Menu selection was tiny. All plates and silverware were disposable (isnt this sacrilege in San Francisco? Why is there not real reusable flatware at a hotel restaurant?). The hotel won’t earn any accolades for other services, either. I phoned the front desk and asked for silverware to be sent to my room (and was again reminded that it’s only plastic) and it never arrived. It wasn’t late – it just never showed up at all. After an hour I went down to the café and got it myself. Nobody offered to help us with our bags when we checked in. We’re talking basic hotel service 101. For a hotel at the Courtyard level, this stuff should be their bread-and-butter; I don’t need a butler, but I do expect that the basics are executed perfectly.

We had a wonderful experience at the hotel. Location is awesome, walking distance to Union Square, restaurants and shopping. The staff worked great to accommodate our needs and helped us with every thing we asked. Will definitely stay at the hotel again.

Nice hotel, comfortable beds, central area. My only complaint was the cleanliness of the bathroom. There floor really needed to be mopped! Order than that great stay.

Staying downtown can be hit or miss. As long as you understand that you are not going to get a 1100 sq ft suite this is a great place to stay. While some rooms have great views of other city life the upper floors have a phenomenal view. The on site restaurant is good if you can’t bring yourself to go back outside and the staff are extremely friendly. It is close to Union Square but it lies on the border of the rougher part of The Tenderloin. I was never uncomfortable walking the streets in the area but I wouldn’t want my wife and kids exploring the same area.

Stayed in the Courtyard SF Union Square Feb 19-21, 2018. Rooms are nicely appointed though a little small. Beds are comfortable. Small but nice bathrooms. The city views from the higher floors are beautiful and the hotel is convenient to many of SFs attractions. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Ate breakfast at the hotel and while it was a prepackaged breakfast sandwich it was good and filling. There are numerous restaurants/diners within walking distance of the hotel. Felt safe walking around the area even at night.

I realize now that the hotel is a historical building and that, as such, there are limitations to structural and modernization changes that Marriott can make as to the size and comfort of the rooms.I am writing now to specifically talk about the service and staff at the Courtyard Marriott at Post Blvd in SF. I have to commend Marriott for the selection of their staff and the service they have provided during our stay there. At every turn, the staff was ready and willing to help and their service was outstanding. When we had a problem with our room and noise issues, they immediately solved the problem and changed our room. Our request for extra pillows was instantly addressed and a couple of issues we had with the bathroom and alarm clock they promptly fixed. The lobby personnel was kind, helpful and personable. The same with the dining staff; always willing to make that extra effort. That alone made our stay comfortable.

I frequently call this hotel home during my travels to San Francisco. Courteous staff, the fire pit is pretty awesome, and the rooms are pretty nice. I recommend it.
