I have a vintage Ernest Borel wristwatch I bought myself as a reward for finishing grad school years ago. But it never worked right—the seconds hand would just stop, for no discernible reason, at random intervals. Sometimes it would run for nearly a full day, other times it would stop after just ten minutes or so. When I lived in Florida, I took it to several places trying to get it fixed; none of them got it right, so I just put it in a drawer and forgot about it for years. Then last year I heard about Tigges from a friend of mine who got a watch crystal replaced there. I figured I would give them a shot; if a shop with their reputation couldnt fix the watch, then maybe it just couldnt be fixed. Their first idea, that the seconds hand was bent at the tip and was getting caught on the minutes hand, didnt pan out, but after a couple of follow-up visits (at no extra charge, of course), they actually got it running. Its been going strong for a full month now, with no problems. If youve got a vintage timepiece thats giving you trouble, I cannot recommend Tigges highly enough. They do great work, they stand behind everything they fix, and theyre pleasant people to deal with. Sure, their hours could be more accommodating, but its a family-run shop, and you cant argue with their results. Enthusiastically recommended.

Came here recently to upgrade my wedding bands with my husband. The same lady, Beth, who helped him with my engagement ring in 2016 immediately remembered him from back then and was so happy to see him again, and meet me and our daughter. Although this place is far from home, my husband loved their customer service and gave us a good deal. I cant wait to pick up my new set from them. We will continue to come back here for any of our jewelry needs!

Brought my engagement ring in to be resized as it was much too big. Vince and Barbara were so kind in helping me, did an absolutely beautiful job, and worked hard but quickly so that I could have it back within just a few days. I am so grateful to them and their thoughtfulness and will absolutely be returning in the future!

I had trouble with my watch for a long time. I couldnt seem to get it to work. So, I stopped by. Vince was great! He was very honest about what he could and couldnt do. He took a look at the watch, immediately so the issue, fixed it. He even took the liberty to show me how the watch works, and in the course of doing so, he realized something else was wrong in addition to what I was complaining about. Vince didnt hesitate to inform me and took a closer look at it. He did what he could do, and told me to come back if it gives me any trouble. He also fixed my bracelet free of charge. Its a great place, I would definitely recommend going there for any of your valuable pieces.

I had broken / bent pins on my breitling wristwatch... waiting 5 minutes while the jeweler finished with another customer. He then quickly removed the pins and charged me a small price. Another customer came in while I was there and handed the jeweler gifted tickets to the Giants game and said it was for the wonderful work he had done for him.A local business that is worth a good review.

These people do amazing work. Super honest, reliable and take wonderful care of the pieces entrusted to them. They restored a watch my dad had given me that was no longer working and went to great lengths to make it work for me again. So glad theyre close to me and I hope they continue to be there for many many years to come.

Problem was they didnt have many 22MM bands. For NATO style they only had 1 that would work. In silicone they 3, but my wrist is on the larger side and only 1 of them fit, but it wouldve looked since where the pins went it was pretty thick.

Superb service. Their 5 star reviews are well earned. Ive been in twice now - both times for minor service and repair for my Movado watch. I estimate that they have saved me many times more than Ive paid them. Just today I was charged $10 for a repair to a watch band that would have cost me at least $200 to replace.

The 5 star ratings and stellar reviews of Tigges Jewelers is spot on! I walked in needing a locking clasp repaired on one watch and a battery change for another. To my surprise Vince was able to do both watches for me as I waited which took about 15 - 20 minutes. He gave me some great advice on why my locking clasp had broken and how to prevent it in the future. And he changed the battery on the other watch for a very reasonable $20 dollars....and did not charge me for the clasp repair!! He and the woman that greeted me were just so very helpful, nice, kind and very social. Yes, truly a Richmond District gem.....and this was my first time in the shop even though I live just down the street and have been living in the neighborhood for the past 16 years. I would highly recommend Tigges Jewelers!!!

I went here to get a new battery for my Cartier tank watch, done while I waited in ten min for 35 dollars! I took it to another jeweler on Union street who quoted me $400, and needed a week to do it. They claimed it needed cleaning inside etc. Electric watches usually dont. Nice to have honest people around these days

This review is to describe the kind professionalism of Barbara. A week ago, while in significant discomfort, I went to Tigges Jewelers to ask for a ring to be cut off my finger. Barbara first soaked the finger in cold water and applied Windex, unfortunately without extricating the finger. Dealing with an extremely thick silver ring, she used one set of jewelers scissors, then another, then a third (which broke the tool), and finally was successful with the 4th. When I gratefully asked her how much I owed her, she said, Nothing. I noted that a tool had broken. Barbara then summed up, I wont charge you. It was an act of mercy. Thank you to Tigges. This was my first visit to them, and I will certainly be a return customer (next time to buy rather than to be rescued!)

First off, Vince the owner is one hell of a business man! Thorough beyond belief. I called on a Sunday evening at 5 pm when he had already closed for the day, and talked to him about what I was looking for, what my dilemma was, and how time was sort of a factor. He graciously said if I could make it to there by 5:30 he would open up and help me. Thats the first solid he did. As I made there and talked a little more about what was needed, he then gave me such informative, clear and concise information it was incredible. So, the situation being, I needed a birthday gift that day for my girlfriend which was a protective bezel for her Jade Stone which has priceless sentiment attached to it. He didnt have exactly what I wanted to get, but adamantly pulled together something I could give to her that night. Not only did he put together a presentable gift, but he made sure that it was not cheap or raggedy looking. He did all this without even seeing the piece, nor knowing who I was. He also did all this without charging me a cent. He gave it to me to take to her, check that the size was accurate, and basically loaned me what he had so that I wouldnt look like a fool to my girlfriend. NOW, if thats not a true man of honor and respect, then what is? This guy put his own personal assets on the line, knowing he was dealing with a stand up customer that lives by his word, and went with it. This guy is one of thee most honorable, respectful, and trustworthy business owner Ive ever encountered. I recommend this place to the fullest and will refer him to all my friends and family undoubtedly. You cant get a more knowledgeable and honest guy in general. Let alone as a Jewelry store owner. I cant say enough about Vince and what he has done and what he is about. So thanks Vince. I sincerely mean that. He will always get my business and my friendship from that day on! Truly genuine person!
