My wife and I love it here! Very well organized and clean. The trainers are so kind and helpful.
This place is great for an INTENSE workout!! I definitely need to be a little more prepared before returning to my next class. Basically it’s super fun environment however the class was very loud to me. The speaker music was crazy loud (which is expected) but then the instructor talking loudly over with a mic is a lot. I had a hard time understanding the instructor but I was able to follow along with cues from the rest of the class. Overall, a lot of fun! But just be prepared to enter a dark room with flashing lights and loud music for your workout 😆
Instructor Amber is amazing! Great music and positive vibes all around. The outside seating area is super convenient too for changing shoes between classes.Only reason I’m giving this SoulCycle location 3 stars is that their front desk staff is not the friendliest. I’ve been going to the Castro location for years, and because of a job switch I decided to try out SoMa. Apparently cell phones are not allowed *at all* in the studio, but at the Castro location you can have them but just can’t use them. I got my cell phone sitting on my bike swiped by an employee and had to pick it up afterwards, as well as a very unnecessary scolding. Can we standardize this policy? Also I got an elbow to the face by an employee trying to help another person with their bike. Didn’t get a “sorry” at all, and then when I asked that same person to help me adjust my bike, I got a flat out “No”. Like... ????? Even the people around me who saw were a little shocked.I’m just saying, this studio already has a reputation in the city of attracting rude, entitled customers. (I could go on and on about this as well). Maybe friendlier employees could help set the tone and standards of this location?
I just want to start out by saying that my faith in Humanity is restored! The staff was so warm and friendly to my two kids and I to let us use the restroom, when we were stuck in 2hr SF traffic on my birthday mind you leaving SF after visiting family. They were so gracious and sweet. I just wanted to say a million thank yous to your kindness and friendliness. No wonder my friend loves this location! I would totally come to this location, but I live in the East Bay :(Many blessings to the whole staff!
The staff here are really nice! The entire operation is very well run and organized and the class was a blast. This location is particularly nice because its in the Salesforce alley area where theres lots of seating that becomes empty once its after work hours (after 5-6 PM). In addition, theres plenty of bus stops nearby for easy transport. My only complaint is that it can be very crowded and hectic, so arrive early and make sure you have all your ducks in a row (locker situation, clothing, water bottle, etc.)
What an experience! You pay 30USD for one class and get shoes, fiji water and a towel included. The bathrooms are clean and spacious. The class was cool and challenging, for my taste the music/microphone was a bit too loud.
The space is a little small which makes it hard for spur of the moment group trips. Crazy good selection of beer, wine and a very impressive (overpriced) whiskey selection. They serve sandwiches and salads which were pretty good, but left me hungry layer that evening.
Spacious and clean location with a large locker area and studio. Easily accessible from Montgomery station
I’m a SoulCycle fanatic and I live in a state without a studio so I was SO excited to visit and ride here. The instructor was good, but not great and the front desk staff- painful! No energy or friendliness I brought my husband who loves indoor cycling, but had never been to soul and they made him feel stupid while helping to set up his bike. The experience here doesn’t compare to the other 7 studios where I’ve ridden.
The classes are OK the instructors are nice but the class atmosphere is flat there is no soul in the soul cycle. Moreover, the front desk staff are nice but unable to do simple math and dont know the difference between a charge and a refund. They still owe me $30.
It was fun riding to the beat. The instructors were energetic. And it got me off my butt.
Great location for spinning with clean decor and a dedicated staff. No real complaints here for a non NYC Soulcycle. Represents the brand well
As others have said, nothing great to say about soul cycle at this location. Energy is flat, music doesnt inspire you to push harder, and I dont find the instructors to be as good as other locations I have been to in NYC or LA (I dont wake up the next day feeling sore). I am usually happy to pay for a soul cycle class but not at this location.
If you ever wondered what doing a spin workout in a dark, crowded, and loud nightclub would be like, look no further. Definitely not my thing, but the staff and the facilities were great.
Ive been to a few SoulCycles, but the one issue with this one is that they need a better floorplan. Its incredibly crowded when there is a switch between classes and you always end up accidentally running into a sweaty person next to you before your class. Or theres a really long line for the bathrooms. The studio is fine, just the layout of the lockers and locker rooms.
Staff is execellent and very knowledgable about whats going on.People are friendly and there is always a bike
This is the first studio I took a class at and it feels like coming home when I visit. The front desk and staff remember my name and are always smiling
If ever, ride with Paula!🔥🔥🔥 This location has a separate bathroom area for each gender, which is good because there are so many more showers then (compared to the Palo Soul). Also, lots of lockers!! (Like over 40). They have a small open closet space too, in the women’s area where everyone can hang their coats or jackets. The only thing is that their lotion is close to the sinks so I struggled to use it post-shower.The class is huge too and pretty spacious.Honestly to have a good intense workout you’ll have to feel the music though. You cannot take a class with an instructor whose music is not lit. To get you to push, the music matters a lot since they also focus on that during the class.
Really great workout. Monday 730 with MK is the best !!
Wanted to hate soulcycle but it has definitely won me over--not for the touchy feely stuff but for the quality of the instructors and the music lists. Quality of the instructors varies but not widely like other spinning chains--great experience.
Im from Charlotte, NC and When Im In San Francisco for work I have to take a SoulCycle class! Ginny is fantastic and so inspiring 🙌🏼
Was traveling from the east coast and took MKs 6 AM class. What a great experience it was my first time taking a class and I loved it!
I’ve been to quite a few soul cycles all over the USA as a travelling flight attendant! This time I went to Kamille’s class in SOMA his class was insane. His energy, his inclusivity, his playlist and his fun!! Will always try to get to his class when I’m in town!
Ah, the SoulCycle cult. I have such a love/hate relationship with it. For one, spending $35 on a class is a seriously ridiculous thing to do, but the atmosphere is amazing and supportive and if you have that kind of money to blow on a fitness class, its definitely worth it. I took the free class and felt like I was very much out of place and invisible, since I came alone, am quiet, wasnt wearing lululemon, and generally give off lost/scared vibes. I still hate the relentless branding but at least in SoMa, the staff are stellar. The manager, Ashley, is AMAZING and a super friendly/nice person who went way above and beyond to make me feel included at the studio. She responded to my negative comments courteously, and although I was completely turned off after my first class, she convinced me to do another one (she gave me another free class since I had such a bad time) and i LOVED IT. An amazing workout and as someone whose done Spinning for many years, I have never had instructors who were so positive; A problem I often have with instructors is that they bring the focus on fat-burning, calories, and the aesthetic side of Spinning, but these instructors reinforced that its about mental health as much as physical. I would love to go more, but the price is prohibitive.
Studio is very cramped. If there person in front sits up, youll have a sweaty back inches from your face. Lockers arent big enough to hang a shirt or suit, changing area is separate from lockers and way too small. Class is less focused on cycling, more whole body fitness. Very expensive for what you get.
Always great energy and a fun workout.
Paula is the best!
One of the few locations where the mens locker room actually has a lot of showers.
Location is a little annoying to get to (lots of construction) but great other than that--excellent instructors
