The barber was always so friendly and professional. She was able to put the kids at ease if they were nervous which is important when cutting kids hair. Her cutting was great too! Actually, I really appreciate his performance for it was really wonderful. They loved it!

This was my third trip to Louies during the pandemic. Theyve been *great*! Ive always been pleased with how I look afterwards, and theyve taken the time to show me how to replicate the styling they do myself at home and not been pushy about getting me to buy products unless its literally what they put in my hair. Great conversationalists when I was chatty, and none at all when I wasnt. A+ all around.

Its been a while since I didnt cut my hair. I wanted to make a fresh start for myself last Saturday. So, I was going to the barbershop near me. It was my first day in the service, so I was so surprised at the really nice cut. I liked the barber because he was outstanding and polite. His service has been strongly recommended.

I appreciate the descriptions of the barbers time and expertise. When doing my boyfriends haircut, he is not rushed. He was so pleased after the service, because he looked so young with his new haircut. I always recommend this barbershop to anyone who asks where they can get a good haircut, but since they are all experienced, you ask for one of them.

Its been a wonderful experience. The place is beautiful, and when we walked in, the workers accepted us immediately and gave us an outstanding haircut. My mom was so excited with her new haircut. Prices are basically the same as most other stores, but talent and staff are fantastic, unlike the other lounge/barbershop. Its highly recommended!

Finally got a good barber. Love Chico. Lines can be long. I have had two horrible haircuts there but both those guys are gone now. The rest seem to be good too. Everyone seems to have a favorite. I think the bad barbers are gone now. Not a bad price either, for Castro.

A Castro neighborhood staple for years was recently purchased by a long time member of the staff. Since then, Martin, has restored the ship to its full glory, extending the number of chairs, repairing/replacing damaged tiles and generally making Louie’s even more friendly. Stop by for your cut or trim, there is a barber for every style and every age. LGBTQ+ owned and operated.

I asked for a specific haircut for which I had detailed photos. Its a high skin fade - not very complicated I dont think. I really liked the barber and it was fun interacting with him. However, the end result was choppy / sloppy compared to where I usually get my hair cut in Los Angeles and it cost me more here.

Nice shop, but it can take a while to get into a chair. No appointments, FCFS. Martin (new owner) is the best barber in the shop. Unfortunately, having let the others cut my hair on previous visits, I now just wait until Martin is available.

This is the go to barbershop in town and its a high-energy, busy spot right across from the Castro Theater (Castro at Market) just a couple of doors from the Castro Muni Station at Harvey Milk Plaza. I found this shop when my guy, Shai, from downtown set up a chair there. When I started going there, I discovered that a friend, Brian, also mans a chair at Louies. Fun spot and when you walk in you sign up on the list for their first come, first served model (they dont take reservations). Plus, before or after your visit, youve got a great neighborhood full of options to enjoy.

An iconic down home ol fashioned barbershop. No fuss, no muss. Can get busy on the weekends -- first come first served. Or, if you have a preferred haircutter, you can put your name on the list. Discounts given for seniors. Beard trimming and an old fashioned straight edge razor and hit face towel are on the menu if thats your gig.

Hector gave me my first haircut in San Francisco and he did a fantastic job. The people are very friendly and very genuine. Hector was very talented and gave me one of the best haircuts Ive ever had. Needless to say I have found my barber in San fran.

Worst haircut Ive ever had. Screwed up my haircut then proceeded to shave my head to a buzz. Its not what I asked for and its not even at least even .I have stray hairs sticking up all directions. Thank you for the next few weeks of looking this embarrassing. Never...again.

My hair was pretty much butchered by luis. 2nd chair from the window. I explained a fade ended up in a flat undercut. For a barbershop, its quite surprising that they dont use a single blade razor. He seemed to be upset when i called out his insane cut. Never coming back to that place

They dont do straight razors every day, so call ahead.
