I moved to Ava Nob hill last year when the pandemic was crazy. Since then, its been a great place to live with an impressive complex and a wonderful community. Its been always safe and clean. The maintenance team has been quickly responsive. All comes from its excellent management. Even since James took the management position, this place has become more lovely. I love this place and plan on staying for a while.

Location is pretty good since it is technically in Nob Hill, but it is pretty much at the bottom of Nob Hill bordering Tenderloin where it can get a bit dicey. So if you have a car I would definitely pay for a garage spot if they are available.I have been here since October 2020 and while the staff has always been friendly, I have to give this place 3 stars since my roommate and I have had 75% of my packages stolen. This is not an exaggeration. They get these notices all the time from residents. Despite this being a huge issue, it has not been fixed and I find it hard to believe when they say they are working on it.AVA Nob Hill was a pretty good value when I came during the pandemic, but if you like receiving packages that you pay for, I would recommend a different building.

This AVA location is nothing short of ameeeeezing! The staff here make it truly feel like home. There is the most wonderful leasing department that made the moving process seamless. The maintenance team, that I kept quite busy, is fantastic! As a unit, this team here truly prides themselves in taking care of their residents as if they were family. Im sad to transfer to another AVA, but if the team there is half as awesome as this one, Ill be fine! LOVE YOU AVA NOB HILL!!

We moved in recently. Ava team is friendly and helpful. Nice apartment. I liked the countertop overhang, it is quite spacious and practical. Great so far. Loving the location and backyard sitting area.

Friendly and amazing staff. They take pride in what they do, and go all the way to ensure the residents have a great experience. Been living here for the past 4 months, the process from leasing to moving in have been seamless and transparent. They have a great portal & team for fulfilling service requests and so far the experience in that front has also been great. Highly recommend.

We’ve lived here for the past 6 months, and I want to say that Alexa from the leasing office has been amazing from day one! She helped us finish the move-in process (she started on the same day we moved in), and has been extremely helpful and responsive whenever we need her. My boyfriend and I have been living here for 6 months now. One of the things we love the most here is the friendly and helpful staff at AVA nob hill. I am writing this review to give thanks and highlight the maintenance crew at AVA.#1) They have a really quick turn around when it comes to maintenance requests. All the maintenance requests we submitted have been responded to within the next 24 hours.#2) The maintenance staff are all so friendly and helpful. Whatever it is that needs to be addressed, they get it done.#3) Shout out to Cody for helping us address maintenance issues that arise. Also, shout out to Randy for coming to the rescue and unlocking our door in the middle of the night when I was in a rush and accidentally dropped my keys down the elevator shaft :/

I was very lucky to find my home at AVA Nob Hill. Sadly I had to move out of SF. The staff was amazing, from the maintenance to security. Im mostly impressed by management under Maya! Having to live at other apartments before, I have to say she is doing a phenomenal job. She personally cares about tenants and organizes events to brings us together. My deposit was refunded after one week of moving out. Overall, I would definitely recommend anyone to live at AVA Nob Hill.

Love living here—been living here for a year now in a studio with my partner, and were super happy to renew. The community events are really great and the patio is a great place to hang out. I’ve been on the hunt for an apartment in the city and Ava has definitely got my attention. From the moment you walk into the complex you’re greeted with warm welcomes and a great staff! They were able to give me a full tour and great options that’ll fit my needs. Not only was the apartment equip with modern appliances, you’re also in the middle of the city! You’re minutes away from almost everything. Perfect place to live at for someone who wants to experience San Francisco! Thanks AVA!!

Since moving in I have always been greeted with smiles and a willingness to help with anything I need from the managers. The meet and greet BBQ was just the last of many fun ideas the staff have come up with to make this feel more like a home, with friends all around. I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with next.

I love living here, in fact we just renewed our lease. The amenities are great, a nice location, central to all things we need (very close to TJs!). The staff is also really accommodating & makes sure we have a smooth AND fun stay! :)

Definitely the smoothest move-in experience Ive ever had, even during the SF shelter order. This propertys community manager, Jericho, was so attentive and helpful through out the process, from viewing units to answering questions, and moving logistics. On top of that the residents have been friendly, the amenities are great, and the location feel central without being caught in the weeds of SOMA or FiDi. Ive been very happy so far and highly recommend!

I visited a friend and ended attending one of their events. As I enter the lobby, I love the minimalist and modern look. It’s very clean and will definitely recommend to a friend. This place is like one big family and a good community to live in. Will definitely consider as a place to stay in the nearest future!

I’ve been fortunate enough to have resided here at AVA Nob Hill for four years. The location is amazing.. minutes from downtown Union Square, surrounded by amazing bars, restaurants and shopping. The staff here at AVA Nob Hill are amazing- Jericho and Mirjana and all the staff have always gone above and beyond in accommodating me with anything I might need. The staff here truly makes all the difference.. A fantastic place to live.

I moved here from Chicago and just love living at Ava Nob Hill. Maya and Lilly are AMAZING, super helpful and responsive, and very nice. The front lobby was cluttered with packages but with the new changes it is now immaculate at all times. The resident events that they hold every month are fun and a good way to meet your neighbors. This is a GREAT place to call home.

My girlfriend and I recently moved in to Ava Nob Hill and we have been thrilled with our experience here. We decided to rent online without viewing the unit and truly could not have done it without Chris and Lilly. They are hands down the best people we have ever dealt with when renting an apartment. They were on top of everything throughout the process and were extremely welcoming and helpful when we moved in. The apartment building has also been great and we are very happy with our choice!

We’ve lived at AVA Nobill for over a year now and only have good things to say! Our office crew - Jericho and Maya - are fantastic. They go out of their way to say hello and check in about our days. They recently started hosting monthly community building events that are great - Jazz Night, Halloween Costume Contest, Warriors Watching Party, and a live DJ and s’mores night. Randy and the facilities crew are also super friendly and respond to requests for support immediately. If you’re looking for a pet-friendly, fun and safe community...this is it.

I live in Ava almost 4 years... Love the Location and apt.Most of the resident including me dont owe a car so it is very important that waiting area/Lobby is clean and have the place were we can sit and wait for Uber or food delivered to us etc. This was not the case before ( carts, packages, bunch of other equipment all over the place)...A month or so they start fixing and now looks so inviting and clean. Keep it up...Also Thank you guys for the Resident Party last night, it was so much Fun...Great job Maya and the Team...

AVA Nob Hill is one of the best places I have ever lived. Kyle, Chris and team are just outstanding. The building is clean, friendly, and everyone is so professional. I lived in CA for two years and just moved back to NY and I am very much missing my apt and the friends that I have made in the building. I walked in with my friend and immediately were greated by Maya. She made us feel at home and she was the most professional out of all the communities we’ve visited. The other properties we’ve visited had better amenities, however most important for us is knowing that If we need any help we can count on the staff. Five star for my fav. I have lived at Ava for a year and a half. The people here are the nicest ever. The location is great because as a college student its close to my classes. My favorite features is that fact we have a front desk, a workout room, mailboxes and a parking garage. These things really make living here easy. Oh and the staff always try hard to have fun events for the residents such as yoga and first Fridays (free breakfast). Shout to Chris, Lana and Kyle, you guys are the best.

Good points: Excellent STAFF! Best I have ever seen :). Nice place to live. Very central and close to everything to need to live a great life in the city. Nice courtyard fully equipped with BBQ and lounge area. Very quiet with friendly neighbors.Less good point: In my opinion too dog friendly. I believe dog owners love the courtyard to walk their dogs and enjoy having the toilette area in the courtyard, but if you dont own a dog it could be a bit difficult sometimes. But most dog owners are very clean...but not all. Also, the courtyard is cleaned very often... so no that bad.Bad point: The rent is really too high for my small place. Like any where else in SF I guess, but that is not a reason for not mentioning it.

Love love love love this place! Ava Nob Hill has provided an excellent experience from moving here for law school from Iowa. While the building aspects are very important when moving, the staff is what makes the apartment different then most.Lilly Bellomi is an absolutely exceptional community coordinator and has been there every step away to make the move smooth & also someone who is personable & I feel comfortable talking to her & coming to here with anything. Harry R. in maintenance goes above & beyond to fix any problem you report & has a great attitude at all times. The night security, Chris, is very attentive & caring about the safety of the building and is also goes out of his way to help me in any situation I might need from carrying something up or making sure I am not being bothered outside at night.

A pleasant community, management and maintenance team are very helpful. They always make you feel good. My kids love this place, free events are always hosted for the residents with free food and drink.The building is well maintained and beautiful, in the heart of San Francisco.

Usually leasing offices are not an enjoyable experience. The staff has been very responsive and accomodating. Whenever Ive had concerns or issues the staff has gone above and beyond to right the situation. The new staff also keeps their word...If they say they will do something, they do. Special thanks to Maya in the leasing office.. She has been a pleasure to interact with. Ask for her. I have lived here for almost 11 years and will continue.

I have been a resident at this AVA for about 4 months now. The apartment it self is fantastic. They allow big dogs and are overall really pet friendly. There is a nice dog walk in the middle of the courtyard that gets cleaned weekly. The location is very central. As someone who works in the financial district being able to walk to work in 15 minutes is worth every penny. More importantly though their friendly staff including Llana and Chris at the front desk make this such a welcoming environment. They are supper responsive when it comes to any request. They spend the time to get to know you. They host wonderful community events. You really feel like a part of well run apartment complex with these two watching over the day to day duties!

This review is for the new manager Mirjana, I dont usually take time to write good reviews but she is so good that I have to surface her great job. When I moved in this May, the community was run by different people, they were very good, and in the middle of this year, they changed the whole team, I did not expect the new team will be even better, especially the manager Maya, she is very responsive and always willing to help. She helped me solved many issues during move out. And the only reason I moved out is because I bought my own place, otherwise I wouldnt have leave this place, its a very good community in all. Convenient location, safe community, very good sound proof, beautiful courtyard, affordable price. I would recommend to live here.

Ive only been living here for a few days, but so far its been a great experience! Immediate area is good with lots of coffee shops on the block. Close to Walgreens and Trader Joes. Relative to the city, it seems to be pretty convenient. Not too far from Union Square, Market, and BART. The staff has all been very helpful and friendly so far. Our move in experience was painless. I am splitting a studio with a roommate thats a close friend and weve been able to make the space very functional with 2 sleeping areas and a common area. So far, I would suggest AVA to others.

I am impressed and pleased with my experience at AVA Nob Hill. The management staff have been great, and I like my unit. It is quieter than I would have guessed given its central location in the heart of the city. The outdoor common area is great amenity and the gym is well-equipped.I really appreciate the spirit the current management team displays on a daily basis, they pay amazing attention to detail and always make me feel welcome and at home! The community events that are offered to all of us add even more esprit de corps. I hope to remain here for years to come!

Living in an apartment complex can easily make people feel isolated and surrounded by strangers, but so far, everyones been very warm and approachable--truly like a community!Facilities are great too. The gym is fair in size and is fuss-free. No big equipment apart from the treadmills, but its got the space and tools you need to get a proper workout done. I cant wait for spring so I can have friends over and try out the grillers in the courtyard. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

The best part of the building is the staff working there. The guys at the leasing office during the day are super friendly and helpful, and just generally make your experience here a good one. The maintenance staff are responsive and friendly as well, so youre neither stuck with a problem for a few days nor a bad after taste in your mouth after haggling over something.

AVA NOB HILL has been such a fantastic place to live. I honestly cant say enough good things about it. What makes it different from other complexes Ive stayed in is the people, especially the employees. I have created genuine relationships with the security guards, maintenance, and management. Everybody is so nice and willing to help with any problem that occurs (not that there has been many). They really make it feel like a community and home rather than a typical apartment complex. Go AVA!

AVA Nob Hill Apartments has been by far the best landlord that I have ever had in this or any city. Ive lived here since the building was first built over 25 years ago. The Avalon guarantee is that all service requests will be handled or at least responded to within 24 hours. And they always do! This past week, my key broke off in the storage unit lock. The vegetable drawer in my refrigerator has been cracking as well. So I reported both. When I got home the next day, Randy had fixed the lock, left a new key, and a new vegetable drawer was in place - with all the vegetables back in it.Some years ago, the oven door on my stove had become dangerously loose. When I reported it, the leasing office originally said that they werent budgeted to install a new stove, but could give me a used one. I told them that would be fine. Four days later, a brand new, state-of-the-art Whirlpool oven was sitting in my kitchen.There are several reviews that castigate the leasing office. I have been through many, many teams of leasing agents in the years Ive been here. Obviously, some are more friendly than others - thats just human nature. But overall the staff here is always friendly and helpful in the extreme. Jovan was great and everyone liked him, but hes moved on. Right now we have Lyle, Chris and Llana. They are great. Im honestly perplexed by the reviews here that have found recent staff to be hard to deal with. That has not been my experience. Sometimes the rules from central headquarters at Avalon do change, but the staff always informs us well in advance. I dont always like the changes, but Ive always found them to be adaptable to my needs.

Chris and the staff at Ava have always done nothing short of go the extra mile in making my experience living here a great one. Really attentive, detailed and fun staff that helped me view my place as not just an apartment, but my home.

Regarding the e-mail that I received today about packages I just want to say Thank You. I live here for almost two years now, and this is the best thing so far that you guys did with packages... Before everything was in the Lobby, piled up and I was wasting my time searching for the package or not finding it at all... Holliday season was the worst, you couldnt even get in to the main entrance and hallway due to the amount of packages.I understand that office space and entrance is too small and there is no package room or concierge, to be honest I am thankful that the staff is not leaving packages around the Lobby area (were random people can come in from the street and steal packages this happened to me before). I feel much better now ordering packages because I know that they will be delivered to my door or Amazon lockers...I can not tell you how important is for me when I order my medications and they come in front of my door...Thanks again for taking this seriously and making it easier for us.

The front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. I had a terrible issue with my furniture delivery and the staff attempted to help me in any way possible. It was very simple to move in.

We are new to the city and this complex but so far its been great. Its walking distance to restaurants and shops with public transportations near by. Management staff like Chris and Llana are always friendly and helpful; its starting to feel like home again in this new city.

So basically this place has gone from my favorite places I’ve lived as per the previous review to a place I literally dread on a daily basis. The front office staff used to be an asset. They were friendly, personable and fun while maintaining professionalism, they made you feel valued and people like Peggy, Franz and Later Jovan are why I renewed multiple times.The current staff is the exact opposite. They are rude, make constant veiled threats and literally yell after you when you enter the building to confront you. They do ticky tack things like charge a 150 dollar cleaning fee for my patio because I had the gall to occasionally attempt to make use of it while they dithered. They constantly have conversations with a very “you have a nice place here, I’d hate to see something happen to it” tone.They say things like “if you don’t do what we say we’ll disable your key fob so you can’t access the building”. Seriously, the customer service people here said that more than once. They basically threatened me with not being able to access my apartment for which I’ve been paying over 3000 in rent for month after month for years now over a dog and some forms. That’s both patently illegal until they complete eviction proceedings if they go that route and almost at a mafioso level of coercion. I ask my self time and time again “who are these people”? I own a restaurant and I don’t think I’ve ever been as rude to anyone in years no matter how unreasonable they become as these guys at AVA are rude when they’re being “nice”.Speaking of dogs, their pet friendly stance is a outright lie. They are a very pet unfriendly community. I have a service animal living with me that helps my girlfriend get through her day with a modicum of comfort and I’ve dealt with nothing but harassment, threats and yelling from the staff, in particular Kyle who has to be the rudest customer service person I’ve met in my entire life.The dog is nearly disabled himself, needs to be taken on walks in a cart because he’s a 15 year old bull terrier, and they sent me a harassing 3 day notice about him using the personal backyard which I pay rent for to relieve himself. At his age I’m grateful the dog can even walk out there, to threaten me if I don’t force the dog to do something he can’t is outright cruel. I tried walking through the lobby as fast as I could today only to be yelled at and forced to listen to a rant about how I needed to give my 30 day notice or else. This really was the last straw that warrants this review.This is crazy to say now, because what I felt so strongly about this place is it had a heart. That heart was people like Peggy, Jaime and Franz, but now they’re all gone for various reasons and have been replaced by the absolute worst San Francisco has to offer. Every stereotype about the pushy, rude and boorish downtown bro rolled into a few packages. I exclude the lady who began working the front recently from this broad brush, she seems perfectly nice in a sea of outright jerks.Beyond that there are so many shortcomings like last night a fire alarm went off with a high pitched blaring around midnight. 1 passed, then 2, then 3 and it’s still going. I went to work at 7 and still I could hear a very loud high pitched noise because they just couldn’t be bothered.They used to let packages be delivered to the front, it was a key service, no more now they put a locker that may or may not work and is only for amazon; for anything else I guess their stance is “good luck we can’t be bothered”.I’ve put in service requests for things like plumbing blocks and waited days with no response because, you guessed it, they couldn’t be bothered.The great staff that really cared has been systematically replaced over time with the exact opposite. Maybe someone should yell at them out there instead of he other way around.

Ava Nob Hill has been choice and Chris and the Ava staff have all been excellent. They have been friendly, professional, and have gone out of their way to help my move and transition to SF go smooothly. Yup that’s spelled with 3 ‘o’s!Special requests and circumstances are always dealt with reasonably and Chris and the staff always go out of their way to provide top notch service, a warm welcome, and always with a smile. I can’t remember a time when I lived at a place where I always seek out my landlords/property managers just to say hello because they truly make you feel welcome here.If you are on the fence about Ava just stop by and have a quick chat with these guys and you’ll see what I mean! Customer service is top notch.

After moving to the city and living in SF for a year, Ava Nob Hill was one of the few places I felt true hospitality. Chris, Javon, and Llana were absolutely the best. They were always willing to help and clarify any situations that I might had...even just to vent after a hard day. They always greet you, which might seem little, but for me it goes a long ways especially in a city where this is almost a lost value. I remember when I first moved in and had issues fitting my couch through the door. Both Chris and Javon stayed past their work hours to personally help resolve my issue and I cant be more grateful. When I moved out (due to out of state relocation reasons), Chris made sure my process was just as smooth as when I first moved in. If youre looking for a place to stay thats closer to the city, I would definitely recommend Ava Nob Hill. Theres a convenience store across the street. Trader Joes is just right up Hyde St. There is a charming courtyard with a fire place and grills that I regret not utilizing more often. Of all things offered, the staff is what shines above the amenities and location...and for that, I thank you.

The management is horrible. Clair yells at guests like she is on some sort of prison guard power trip. Staying here reminds me of military training. If you break any rules you will hear about it with relentless emails from the staff. They ask you questions and invade your privacy about anyone you bring home. Stay here if you need parental control.

AVA Nob Hill has thee most friendliest staff! I cannot rave enough about all the positive encounters Ive had with either upon visits, getting a tour of the property, or simply having questions pre or post application.This review though is typically for Jerrika and Chris who are extremely dedicated, helpful, patient, hard working, and they defintely go above and beyond in their roles at AVA on the management team. I cant express how grateful I am with all their help locking down a sweet unit!! Im so happy!!Its exciting and nerve wrecking Im sure if youre in search in a competitive market such as SF to find a living space but cant find anything to suit or accommodate your needs as a resident (...whether it be amenities, pricing, location, convenience or etc) but Jerrika and Chris were really thoughtful with assisting me, they both did a really AMAZING job with helping me out with getting the process started and expediting it since I was on a time crunch with my lease so I wouldnt be without a home.The location is prime, the gym is awesome, the laundry facilities are clean, the space is amazing, every thing is convenient... I could go on and on about all the positives.THANK YOU AGAIN JERRIKA & CHRIS!

From the second I contacted Jovan at AVA, its been nothing but an absolute pleasure to have lived here.We were in an absolute scramble to find a place in SF as were moving from Portland, and were going to need to rent sigh unseen due to some travel challenges. Jovan took note of all the things I was looking for, sent pictures of the new apartment (even though he by no means had to), and sent them my way in order to make an informed decision.By the time we got there, everything that was needed to make our move successful had been done. He answered and returned all my calls, emailed me back each and every single time (and I had plenty of emails cause Im ridiculously thorough, lol), and helped us out with having a space in the garage to move our stuff into the apartment. And he always did it with friendliness, enthusiasm, and professionalism.The rest of the team was terrific too. No one ever showed any kind of impatience and annoyance, which can often be the case once youve actually moved in.As for the apartment, it was pretty much perfect. Faced their charming little courtyard. Got a wonderful smelling breeze from the trees we were around. Was in the corner of the building which was great for privacy. Sure, some of the things were a little outdated in the apartment, but honestly, these were just minor things in my eyes. For locale, leasing team support, and layout purposes, everything gets a big thumbs up from me.We eventually needed to move, but only to be closer to Caltrain for my new gig. Otherwise, we wouldve remained. Thanks to everyone at AVA for letting us have such a wonderful stay!
