I have used TurboTax for over the past decade. Using their online, do it yourself program makes it very easy to get your maximum refund for people that know very little about doing their own taxes. Their service is very economical as I paid $86 and always have gotten a nice return. A person can spend a little bit more to talk with a tax expert and also for audit defense. TurboTax is even good for people that have more complicated taxes in which they own their own businesses. I recommend them to anyone as they have served me very well over the years!

Would not recommend! I have spent numerous nights talking with TurboTax, and months waiting for them to update the MN tax form from the MN budget passed on July 1. Pretty selfless of a trusted tax software business to be so negligent and have to rely on individuals to tell them they need to update a form. T-28.5

Going along great, putting all my info in. Screens keep coming for me to put my preference for an upgraded plan. I consistently choose basic(free) option. When I finish I find that I can only choose plus$60. Plus an additional fee of $50 for doing the state taxes?? Another $40 fee for them to just take these imposed fees out of the tax refund, so I end up paying over $100 for “free” service.Amended: going from three stars to one, after it’s been two months with no return. I paid for a premium service and the customer service is nowhere to be found

I will not ever use turbo tax again. I filed in February and paid for the deluxe which was around 100 bucks. They dont email any kind of notification and even when my state refund chnaged amounts, turbo tax app still says the same from before. They do NOT update and do not communicate. But.... customer service was very helpful with one of my questions when you actually get a live person.

Turbotax made at least two errors when processing my return. First, it auto-filled my scholarship as taxable income, despite my having entered info from my T2202 indicating Im a full-time student, which renders my scholarship income non-taxable. Second, it added the full amount of my capital gains to my taxable, income rather than 50% (which is the inclusion rate for capital gains from selling stocks).These errors are easy to miss when reviewing ones taxes, but they make a significant difference in taxable income and, therefore, the amount of my return. I almost cant believe Turbotax is this bad - these are simple issues that absolutely should not be problematic for Turbotax to handle.I wont ever use Turbotax again because Ive lost all faith in the software - if it makes these simple and very-easy-to-not-screw-up mistakes, what else is it missing?

I purchased turbotax to do a simple tax return and it will not allow going back to add information. I found this software to be entirely useless. The return it completed for me gave me a return of $650.00. My professional tax preparer got me $2800.00. So you decide. do you want $650 or $2800????

2018 and 2019 i used the free version and no issues. My first time ever doing taxes. Being 1099, I expected to pay in but after this crazy year my return said I had a refund. I gave into curiousity and signed up for the paid service. It took me less than an hour to complete my taxes. I signed up for the $265 service on 2/11 and I have no clue what is going on. All that live help they talk about. If your person isnt working then you are SOL! The lady answered the phone yesterday Thank you for calling the tax professionals at turbo tax I told her before they get sued for false advertising i would omit the professionals part

This year TurboTaxes software MESSED UP my taxes BIG TIME! Added my w2 twice put a dependent back on after it was removed. They have NO REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. Just an automated system that keeps running you in circles. I had 4 people hang up on me. The 5th persons didnt do anything other read the screens tome that I had already gone through a dozen times. Trying to make an amendment was almost next to impossible and now its going to take 16 weeks to a year to fix and I still have to pay the premium rate. On top of that They also messed up my minor Childs simple 1040EZ keep claiming she had retirement income when she didnt. Had to file hers with someone else to get away from that. DONT USE TURBOTAX THE HAVE NO CONTROL of THEIR PRODUCT ANYMORE.

Filed my taxes here for a few years with no issues. Then the last 2 years Ive had the IRS tell me Im missing a form and Ive had to finish the process myself. I paid over $80 to Turbotax the last 2 years thinking that they would figure out that they werent providing the service they advertised and adjust their tax filing process to include all the necessary requirements, but I guess they dont care as long as theyre making money.

This is hands down the worst service I have ever experienced. I feel very defeated by this whole transaction every time I try to deal with it. I filed April of 2020 and still have not received my return. And every time I try to get a live person, they say they cant find record of my account. Yet all the information is there when I log into my account. Even when I chat in the live chat they say they cant find my return or they cant help me at the moment. Im even signed up for the turbotax debit card and I have the physical card, but the money has never been issued. I will NEVER use turbotax again, and I will tell everyone I know not to use them. This is THE WORST experience Ive ever had filling my taxes. Ive gotten ZERO answers.

What a false sense of security. I feel like such a consumer fool! I’ve been paying and using this service to “confidently” complete my tax returns for 9 years. It only takes one letter from the IRS and a call to Turbo tax customer service to realize I made a terrible decision. For 9 years. Even if you purchase the best package and assume the software is smarter than a professional, It doesn’t equate to security quality and integrity. Lesson learned and Never Ever again.

This location is the TurboTax business headquarters in San Diego. Ive worked at TurboTax for ten years - its a great place to work. The campus is beautiful, amenities are great. Ultimately though, the best thing about working here is the people.

TurboTax has a problem where there support agents & experts stay muted pretending to help customers eating up time getting paid to sit back and do nothing; they wait for customers to give up & hang up-heard one expert laughing before going into mute for an hour. It happened to me 4x when I really needed help to meet the tax day deadline. Buyers beware of TurboTax!

Great place to work! The campus is beautiful and overlooks the Del Mar Mesa Preserve. Amenities include walking trails, beach volleyball and basketball courts, gym with free group classes, coffee shop, cafeteria, and a game room.

Horrible experience. I have used TurboTax many times and found them to be intuitive, comprehensive and a fine tax preparation product for the average household. I have recommended them to family and friends for years and actually look forward to sitting at the computer and helping others navigate the confusing process known as tax preparation. This year everything has changed. I logged into my account, submitted all of my information and was hit with a 120 fee. I was told I could get a lower rate if I wanted to start over and put all of my information again starting the entire process from scratch. I decided to pay the fee and make it a mission to warn others of this shady billing practice. I was ripped off this year and hopefully I can prevent others from being ripped off as well. Next year I will find a company that values customer service, it wont be Turbo tax. I asked Turbo tax if I could leave a review on their website, they boast a 4.5 star review on their homepage, they said no it was reserved for positive reviews, WOW. That shouldnt surprise me knowing now what I know about the company. These views represent my experience with TurboTax and are in no way meant to defame a person or business.

The process is painless enough until two months later when I was charged a fee of $292 dollars. Tried to contact for months via calls and emails and I get no response. I wonder how many people they scam every year to keep the service free

The online service was very helpful; however, I chose to pay via refund deduction. Once I monitored the refund by IRS, I had to call them to ask my money and they took a week to emitted my check, and now the bank of america says we cannot process the check, they bank that they use is not a recognized bank It will take like a week to us to confirm they have funds to deposit into your account... What a ripoff!

Id give 0 if I could. Never again will I use this company. Downloaded all of my past documents tonight and will never go back. Ill take H&R Block and them fixing the mistake before I ever use turbo again.

Turbo Tax had us pay for a service they did not provide. Even after paying for the premium service, we had to spend hours fixing all of the mistakes they made, and when we tried to get a refund they just kept putting us on hold. They refused to fix the errors they made and refused to refund us, so you can be sure we will take them to small claims court for the time and money we lost trying to deal with their program. Software was lousy, the customer service was even worse. Youre better off filing taxes on your own, it takes just as long but at least you dont have to spend your well-earned money supporting a terrible business. Thanks for nothing TurboTax.

I still aint got my money it almost been three months

I have used Turbo Tax for 18 years without any issues. This year their software has a flaw and I cannot e-file my federal and state return.According to the blogs, they have known about this issues for over a month with no fix. I have paid for the software and the fee to e-file state. What do I get? Bad software with no fix and they are telling me I have to mail my state return. I will find another alternative for next year. You have lost a long time customer.

Very deceptive 2019 forms. They tried to get my credit card # before giving me a price! (That is a first time experience!). Would not show me the completed forms so I could check them for errors. I believe there was an error. Asked obtuse unrelated questions that I could not answer. Took way too long to fill out. I will find another service locally or file free with the IRS if possible.

This was my first year filing with TurboTax and this will definitely be my last year. I am one day shy of filing almost a month ago and I haven’t received my refund as of today. I called the IRS and my banking institution only to find out the funds were released but TurboTax and they were holding them. After speaking with a Rep he said that TurboTax system has not been able to handle the high volume number of returns therefore delaying my return. This is ridiculous! I want my money and I want it now!!!

This is my third year of using TurboTax... and it was the worst experience. I took the highest package but when it comes to line by line review they all kept giving misleading information and transferring one agent to another. Also, agents are never told past history. So every time we have to start from beginning. Also worst part is they close the complaint ID, without resolving problem. . We must have wasted more than 20 hours of my time. Very very poor service. Will never use or recommend anyone to take their service anymore.

Total waste of three hours. Went through the whole filing process having linked from the IRS website. I clicked on “file” and received a message that it wouldn’t be free. I was willing to pay, but couldn’t figure out how and tried for an hour. I called TurboTax (twenty minute hold) and was told to log in. I already was logged in, so he said the problem must be on his end and he would fix it and call me back in five minutes. That was over an hour ago.

TurboTax filed my taxes incorrectly. When I requested them to correct it, they asked me to pay $99 more. Calling them is of no use because they will keep transferring me here and there but no one will actually answer the question.Filed for 3 years with TurboTax. I have used Turbo Tax Software since 2014 and I am a highly satisfied customer! The few times that I used a tax preparer, I did not receive a higher return. Turbo Tax is easy to use, has multiple interfaces (PC, phone, etc.). Their customer service is excellent and helped me immensely when my phone was temporarily misplaced. I would highly recommend the online product to you for State and Federal taxes. The price to file both is extremely reasonable.

Ive been a turbo Tax user for 20 years. I am totally underwhelmed by the fact that every time you open the program they are showing an update. its always 258.5 MB and takes 10 minutes to download and install. WHY! Our state legislature is not any session and Congress is doing the impeachment SO NO CHANGES to the TAX CODE!! Is turbo Tax so inept they have to repair their own program every time you open it! Last year for me and Turbo Tax!!

I decided to file through TurboTax because of their commercials which promise free filing. Upon reaching the end of my filing, I was told I had to pay.They were not transparent when I began my filing that I would have to pay.

I qualified for a free return, but Turbotax determined, after all the paperwork was input, that I had to pay $80 for federal and state combined. i answered the questions about having health care bills and car registration yes, and that is what disqualified me. they didnt mention that in the fine print. also i asked for the fee to be taken out of my return and that cost another $40 so my free return cost $120. Be really careful with these cheaters.

TurboTax claims free e-filing of federal and state tax returns. This is a total lie. I started my return and after I had entered all of my personal info, W-2, income, and dependent info, the app told me I was required to submit a specific form that would unfortunately require me to pay $34.99 to e-file. I reviewed the form and it was completely blank and didn’t at all apply to my tax situation. I have the simplest of tax returns and they wanted $35 to e-file. Go to CreditKarma, it’s actually free to file federal and state tax returns there.

There is no other company in the San Diego area that cares about its employees like Intuit. As a contractor I have worked with lots of different companies in the area and this is hands down the best company I have worked with! There are awesome perks like an on campus coffee house and cafeteria, walking trails, gym, mothering rooms, monthly socials, inspirational speakers, giveaways and lots of awards and bonuses for a job well done.

Weird glitches that boot you out and make you start from scratch. Constantly changing, re-orienting and requiring new passwords which does not improve security but does lead to more confusion and frustration.

Im disappointed in Turbo Tax. Their website was always very simple, and easy to use. But now they have become greedy and slick. Yes it is still somewhat clear and cut but Ive noticed how they try to trick you into paying for unnecessary service fees by. They will already have an option to pay for some extra services filled out without you realizing it until its too late like what just happened to me. I ended up paying extra for a state tax fee service. Only one problem. Im from Florida WE DONT PAY STATE TAXES. Turbo Tax used to automatically skip over anything with state taxes and they would display it. But now theyll let you go right on in blindly. I will no longer be seeking service with Turbo Tax.

I used the free basic turbo tax online. It was a very simple online process and a week later I received my check from the IRS. I would highly recommend even for more complex taxes because their step by step process takes you through EVERYTHING. Thank you TurboTax!

First I didnt know what product I need. Hence I contacted a TurboTax Sales Rep and she sold me the wrong product. I paid, downloaded and started everything only to find after about half an hour that I had the wrong product. Then same procedure again and it was working more or less fine and I was able to e-file, but then the program said I have to file some papers by mail and so I hit the print button, which lead to and error message. I called the support and they have not been able to help or to advise. I have a very easy tax return, so I was pretty sure I can e-file, but because of this error I had to print everything, go to the post office and spend 1 extra hour and about 10$ for the envelope, gas and stamps. What a bummer. Never again. Why did I pay 169$. Nonsense.

Buyer Beware. Even though TurboTax is very easy to use, and the IT dept did a great job formatting each page, here comes the Marketing dept, using all their misleading tricks. Constant interruptions to spend more money on upgrades, and an unclear tricky payment checkout. Watch out, Intuit charges an additional $39.99 to whatever theyre charging you for letting them take their own charges out of your refund verses paying with a credit card. They do not make that clear on the check out page.

I signed up for 49.99 and they have taken $149,99 off my account.They said that the terms and conditions apply to any services or fees that you will be charged for in the future. So they they did. Beware they have very tricky customer service/accountants and they will squeeze your wallet with convoluted facts and fees that you have never heard of. I helped file my sons and he was charged $39.99 for the deluxe when he didnt even order it. I called for a refund and was told a supervisor would call me back. Of course no one did. I feel very scammed. Ive used Turbo Tax to file my own taxes and will not again after this.

Intuit TurboTax headquarters in San Diego is one of the most beautiful work campuses that I have ever seen. The campus includes scenic walks, manicured gardening and most importantly, a company that cares about the community and gives back to San Diego.

I absolutely love working at Intuits TurboTax headquarters in San Diego. The amenities are among the best of any company Ive worked for and its often easy to remember how forget how lucky we are to work at such a wonderful site.Our site features lush landscaping complete with fountains as you approach all of the buildings, a walking path with signs that mention the number of steps completed, a gym with locker rooms, showers and classes, a full service cafe (open for breakfast and lunch) as well as a coffee bar.The site also features plenty of collaborative work spaces, conference rooms of all sizes, drop in offices, wellness rooms and has a inspiration/game room with a pool table and arcade games.Sustainability is important to Intuit and our site is committed to green practices. We all have recycling bins in our office, are encouraged to use reusable food/drink containers and our site recently installed solar panels in our main outside parking lot.

Turbo tax robs their customers. Do not use them for any services! They have options when filing to pay state. They take your money and dont send it off to the state. You will end up paying more on your taxes than if you had went to a legitimate tax business.

Ive used Tax Slayer for about 5 yrs with no issues at all. This one time (and last time) I used Turbo Tax. I used it because they can actually take the amount you owe for doing your taxes from your refund. At the time it worked best for me since I was closing on my house and had a lot of expenses. The only issue is irs.gov says they have already completed my return and the refund amount has been deposited. Only issue is turbo tax hasnt return it to me because they are taking a long time to take their portion out. Its been four and a half weeks since I filed. Ive never had this happen. I would not recommend them and will be going back to tax slayer from now on.

Dont bother with these bums. Ive tried to use their website to file my taxes this year. Right as I got near the end to file with the feds, TurboTax tried to charge me $60 to finish. Switched to H&R Block and they let me finish for free.

Its not open to the public. This is not a complaints department and you wont get passed security. You must have an appointment. P.s. this is not turbo tax. It is the software company intuit.

Terrible cost structureWhile TurboTax is easy to use, they sneak costs in at the end. And sometimes to qualify for discounts, they make you clear all your information and re-enter it all to qualify for discounts! They really misguide you down a path, thinking youll end up paying $0, then bam they typically charge $80 for both state and federal. A lot of frustration, I wish turbotax was more upfront about their costs. If they know most people usually pay $80, then say that. Dont advertise $0 when you know most people end up paying way more than $0.

But only 1.6 percent of taxpayers actually use Free File, and critics say that the companies engage in aggressive up-selling through the portal. I dont write many reviews, but reviewing Intuit San Diego as I absolutely love working here. Not only is Intuit a great place to work, but you cant beat this beautiful campus! Theres palm trees, a sand volleyball court, walking paths, full gym, design labs, open space, and more!

So everything was fine all the way up until i didnt receive my refund, even though i got a notification stating that i have. so i went and called up and it turns out you HAVE - TO - PAY! in order to get decent help.

HORRIBLE experience. Do NOT buy this product!!! I tried to use it for 2014 and do a prior year. It was NOT able to download and give me the promised FREE Virginia state return. Worse yet, it then tricked me into paying $39.99 more for a Virginia state return, but was then as before unable to download the form.Even more frustrating than all of this is the fact that it is IMPOSSIBLE to contact ANYBODY by phone for help!! They are TOTALLY hidden behind an automated system, that of course does NOT help you either. They claim that if you have paid them for support, that they will transfer your call to an actual human, but I am DONE with this unscrupulous company!!! I REFUSE to throw any more money at them!!! You will do likewise if you are smart.

Ive worked at Intuit for 9 years both in Mountain View and San Diego, and its been a great experience. TurboTax is headquartered in San Diego in 4 buildings. The campus is gorgeous and includes a walking trail, beach volleyball and basketball courts, an amazing gym with free classes every day plus personal trainers, outdoor and shaded tables for lunch al fresco, a game room with ping pong, pool table, and foosball, free electric charging for EV cars, and a pretty good cafeteria. I love working here.

Ive used Turbotax for many years now. Its becoming annoying in the last 2 years when the website asks me questions about my previous years taxes when Turbotax knows the answers as I filed with Turbotax. Why should I be asked questions when you know the answers? This really slows down the process and is making me consider moving on to another service.

I paid for my taxes to be done by turbo tax. I paid for the IRS fraud protection. I get a letter from the IRS saying they believe my previous years tax return. Turbo tax locked me out of my account. Fau li d prtdction was bull. I suffer from seizures and have had two having to do with turbo tax and the IRS. I am reporting them to the FTC and reviewing elsewhere. Without resolution Ill be looking into legal assistance for any future medical Bills. I am on medical leave due to my condition.

Ive used TurboTax for over 10 years. Theyve seen the last of my money. The new interface is horrible, more difficult to maneuver. I just spent $120.00 to process my returns. I accidently chose to pay out of my return, for an additional $40.00, tried to back up and pay with a credit card instead, and it wouldnt let me. To take the cake, they ask if you want to make a donation to Trump s election campaign. Hell no!!! My son used CreditKarma, it was free and asked if he wanted to make a donation to a charity of choice. Therefore, TT was either paid to solicit for Trump, or their powers that be, support him. Either way. Ive filed my last claim through TT.

I have written a negative review that they apparently wont let it be published. Oh well, I keep it brief - their product is misleading and they will hid you with backend cost for state filing (even though you purchased federal and state) where they hit you with added cost wrapped with Audit protection). If you do not accept this and pay for the total package, you will not have your federal or state filed even though the gotcha window pops up. Im looking for others to file a class action suit. ANY TAKERS?

They allowed 2 other email addresses to be attached to my file which completely locked me out. My info was being sent to those email addresses. The clueless customer support staff wasted 2 hours of my time on the telephone and still werent smart enough to fix it. Im done with this stupid company.

PLEASE PLEASE DONT DONT DO IT, THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN, SERVICE.

Fraud Fraud Fraud Fraud Fraud ❌❌❌TurboTax is a Fraud. My friend and I used TurboTax and we both didnt get our money, called them so many times and theres no option to talk to anybody. Do not use TurboTax.

I have been gone for a bit so I did not file my 2015 taxes however they were completed in March of 2015 using turbotax online. I just noticed 3 days, while preparing to file my 2015 taxes, that turbotax made a major mistake. After contacting them I was told that I had to pay $70 to download the home version of turbotax and complete them there so that I can file. I already PAID turbotax to do my taxes. Why do I need to Pay to have them fixed??????????Im leaving this bunch of thieves.

Been using Turbo Tax for 5 years and never had a problem. One thing they could work on is the app but besides that I have no other complaints

Called for support and the lady that answered ignored me for more thank 5 mins i just heard she conversating about some bs
