I have had the most incredible experience working with the team over at GoldenWest Management, Inc. I can sincerely say that I feel like they have my back and I rest well knowing my property is under great management. Issues with tenants come up from time to time! Of course, they do! BUT GoldenWest Management, Inc. is quick to provide the services my property needs! They communicate with me throughout the whole process, but are not reliant on me one bit to reach an appropriate and inexpensive resolution. Their team is responsive, friendly, and goes the extra mile to make sure I am happy. My property is always filled quickly (literally within one day with this last turnover). I couldn’t ask for more!

This management company is super friendly and on top of it! I like that my showing wasnt actually with an agent. They have that option but also a self-showing, which I did and felt better for because of the pandemic. The home is in good condition and was literally spotless when I moved in. Definitely go to them if youre looking to rent a house!
I recently inquired with Golden west management regarding some of their rental properties, I did not end up getting the property desired however the assistant, Savannah like Georgia as she says :D, went above and beyond with the process. This company is responsive, and provide easy to use avenues with this competitive market in San Diego. 10/10!

I’m a new tenant and my experience has been nothing but positive so far! MaryBeth made the application paperwork and move in process easy and enjoyable. Shortly after moving in, I had a light fixture go out and the process for scheduling maintenance was easy with the online portal. Jonathan from maintenance was super friendly and communicative throughout the process, keeping me up to date on when the parts came in and being very accommodating of my work schedule. I feel like I’m in good hands with this team!
Horrible property management experience from a company with horrible managment.After a terrible experience with getting maintenance done on our property, shady or sloppy accounting, constant miscommunication between staff within the office, and several hundred dollars in additional termination fees after less than a year of management, my wife found the email for the president, Jayson Yoss, to try to get a response from someone on the multiple queries she sent over the past month. My wife, co-owner of the property and manager of our realestate business, who was properly addressed in a previous email from Mr. Yoss, was addressed Dear Spouse of Property Owner by him in an email several hours later. Roy and Tiffany are the best! I now live 3,000 miles away from my rental apartment and they continue to manage it wonderfully. Over the years Ive had three different rental management companies. This review is only for the maintenance employee, Jonathan Edmett, and does not necessarily reflect our reviews of GW Management. We have had a persistant cockroach problem for years in this unit that was mishandled by previous management companies. Most of our landlords would just spray around the building but this served to be only a temporary fix and they would keep coming back. Jonathan was the first maintenance person that we had experience with who seemed to understand the source of the problem and genuinely wanted to fix it for good. He was very helpful and friendly and he immediately eased my mind regarding the issue when he presented his plan of action.
GoldenWest has been so professional and quick with taking care of things around and in the units of the property itself. I am a tenant and since they have taken over all the issues that I had pending or in the works were resolved the same day. Fred the maintenance guy is so professional and friendly. Diego has been an amazing property manager. He is super friendly and always willing to help the tenants. Great management company.

They have great support staff who are easily reached and helpful with issues. No difficulties getting a hold of staff or getting them to reach me back. Diego was a big help with issues that came up and appreciative of his help with a stressful situation.
I got accepted for a lease last Tuesday for one of your san Diego Properties by the property manager. For starters, he claimed he would send the lease that Wednesday but never did until I had to call Thursday to even get it drafted, With that being said we wanted to add one more person to the lease so I called the front office Friday at 12:30 and spoke to the front desk twice. They claimed that we had until 1:00 pm to get the application in or else they would have moved onto another applicant. I stayed on the line until I got verbal confirmation that they had received the app before 1 pm and still we got rejected for the house even though we should have had the lease given to us three days prior. This is unacceptable as a realtor company the lease should have been sent the day we got accepted along with a way to personally contact the property manager and not sit in the dark about the house. After getting rejected I had tried to contact the property manager and never got a call back once after calling the front office three times. We were supposed to get a call back today to see what is going on with our lease and they never got back. We experienced extremely bad customer service.

I have been working with Todd Steinhardt for over 20 years, he has proven to be very diligent, a person of high integrity in which ever company he works for, no exceptions. He is always wanting to make sure the tenant is taken care of. In the short time I have been working with this company, I can see why Todd chose to work here. They practice some of the same core values that I have come to respect in Todd. Many of the of the tenants I have come in contact with enjoy living at a Golden West Management property.
I’m a current tenant at a Goldenwest property and my experience has been nothing, but positive! The staff are extremely communicative to both me and the community as a whole. We had a pretty severe leak in our unit and within a week, they had the unit assessed, the leak fixed, and everything put back together. We are very happy tenants. Thank you Danny, Martin, and Todd!

If it is at all possible for you to rent from a different management company, I would strongly recommend it! If we had not just paid a ton of money to move my family into a new house in January, we would be moving out.The house wasn’t clean when we moved in, and we were lied to you about the fact that pool maintenance fees would be included in our rent. Now our pool is a huge green pond in our backyard with out a working pump.The windows have not been repaired. We informed the management company upon move-in that multiple bedroom windows were not secure in their frames. Windows in my five-year-old’s bedroom have fallen out on her. A window in my bedroom falls out and pull down the blinds on a regular basis.They sent over someone to fix a broken toilet handle, and the toilet runs worse now than it did before the repair man came.We have two doors with zero weatherstripping so that cold air is blowing into the house on a regular basis. The gate to the pool is completely off the hinges, which we have reminded the company is a huge legal liability issue.It’s to the point that there are so many major health and safety issues that we aren’t even bothering to complain about things like the fact that the refrigerator shelves are all falling apart. Maybe that is part of the plan, to drag out repairs until the tenants just get exhausted and move on. The house is nice overall and in a great area, which is why we signed a lease for a huge amount of rent every month. I wish that we would have known about the lack of upkeep and maintenance before we moved in.
Todd Steinhardt (San Diego) was such a pleasure to work with and made our whole experience with Golden West incredible. He is an efficient communicator and we felt personally cared for throughout the whole experience. Viewing the unit, applying, signing our lease and moving in were all positive thanks to Todd. We cant express enough how much we enjoyed working with him!
I have been contacting this company since I moved in Oct 2019. Not only did they not handle any of my maintenance requests, they make appointments without showing up to waste my time. I leave messages & no one ever calls me back. Within 6 months, we are on our 3rd manager & he is completely nonresponsive. My lease states parking is included but they now require a parking placard that THEY HAVE TO PROVIDE, which they havent. Been trying to get in since March, since they threatened to start towing cars, during this pandemic. This place is full of black mold & they refuse to notify new tenants or fix the problem. We are now forced to get attorneys involved since they refuse to handle anything.
I had Todd, he helped me with the move-in process from the very beginning. Everything went smooth, and he was so helpful. Always replied quickly and I love my new place!
Don’t let this company fool you. We moved into a rental that most would consider in “fair” condition (which we noted in the move-in inspection). Despite being told we’d only be charged for “cleaning, normal wear & tear”, we barely received ANY of our security deposit back! We feel robbed, is there any way I can leave a ZERO star?!

When working together its very important for communication, process, and the service provided to work hand-in-hand with each other and GWM is no exception. We provide updates to them, their tenants, and make sure everyone is aware of whats going on. On the flip side, they emphasize getting every detail that helps us do our jobs. This is essential due to the many moving parts - tenants, property managers, owners, workers, etc. that are involved in property management. I highly recommend these guys, I know youll love them!

***scroll to bottom for most recent complaint***Seven months ago, I noticed a leak in the ceiling of my studio apartment. I immediately informed the previous property management company (*not* GoldenWest), and that company sent a plumber who cut two large (3x2’) holes in the ceiling, only to discover the leak could only be fixed from the upstairs unit. Plumber said the prop management company y would be sending an additional person to fill the drywall holes at a later date. That company could not work out a timely solution to send someone to fill the ceiling holes, despite the many months that followed.7 months later, the hole in the ceiling remained, and the faceless owners of the property apparently went with a new property management company.GoldenWest initially appeared to be much more responsive than the previous company, but it quickly soured.Upon returning from a family vacation 2 weeks ago, I noticed that the prior leak in my ceiling had returned, and the plastic that covered the hole previously was filled with a large amount of cloudy brown liquid. I immediately filed a request for service. The new property management (GoldenWest) company sent someone to investigate the following morning, however, once again the problem could only be solved from the upstairs neighbors unit. And GoldenWest reached out but apparently had the wrong key to the other unit, etc etc.***It’s been nearly two weeks since my initial request and now I can’t even get a response to my emails asking for updates during their normal non-holiday work hours regarding the status of the extremely necessary maintenance to an apartment which I can’t even fully utilize due to the circumstances.*** they have offered me less than nothing to compensate for their inadequacy. They often won’t even do the courtesy of replying to emails.
I own the property that golden west manage. The owner, Jason, is a bully, unprofessional and try to intimidate me every step of the way. Unfortunately I had to wait to the end of my contract before I was able to get rid of this horrible management company.If you get involved with them you will regret it. Look elsewhere.
If I could give them 0 stars I would. This company is beyond negligent. When we first moved in to our apartment they LIED about so many things. They lied about ordering parts for our microwave and we didn’t have a functioning working one for half the year! They never gave us a gate code and we had to ask the neighbor for it. GWM refused to give us our gate code LOL and key FOB. Towards the end of year, the microwave broke and they NEVER fixed it. We finally moved out and it took them 2 months to give us our security deposit back. In CA they legally have 21 days. They finally sent a check the week we finally threatened to sue. They once again lied about sending it in the first place. They are liars and negligent. Rent elsewhere.

Everything was fine at first. Was shown a unit, people were nice and responsive. I got my unit, but it was not cleaned (I hope the prior tenant did not get cleaning fees deducted and i sure as heck expect not to be charged on my deposit either). I work for a cleaning company so I had no issues cleaning myself but dear lord the floors and baseboards were horrible. Had some small roaches which with time, cleanliness and Roach Gel seemed to go away. A few months ago I had to be fumigated for bed bugs that had just started, thankfully it was caught right away. Its just myself in my unit, with minimal furniture so it is easy to keep clean. Washer/Dryer in complex doesnt seem to get cleaned. It is always dirty. Parking is annoying because no spaces are assigned and people do not respect the lines. I emailed about moving to a bigger home, as I am pregnant and looking for a house but my email went unanswered. I called and was told they were busy and would get back to me, no one ever did. I put in maintenance requests for a leaking ceiling almost 2 weeks ago and nothing has been fixed. Damage has spread and now my bathroom and bedroom have leakage and mold growing. Not to mention the bathroom door swelled due to water damage and cant be opened/shut. Being 8 months pregnant my biggest concern is slipping from leaking water, the ceiling falling in, or the mold being a health hazard. Also there have been letters from other tenants trying to organize against management due to bugs and all other complaints. Over all I feel like once you sign your contract the customer service and prefesionalism goes out the window. I will not be renewing or continuing with this management group.

Interacting with Roy, Jayson and Razzell has been the best experience of 2018 in our journey of property management.They held our hands through every step of the process. Extremely courteous and friendly, they ensured that our phone calls and emails were attended promptly and answered all our questions and concerns. I contacted them regarding a rental apartment they had in Henderson area (698 S racetrack Rd). Nobody contacted me back. After 8 days of not hearing anything back on Zillow, I started the live chat with Mark and he said he has no information about this property and he sent a link of GoldenWest Management website!! I called the number that was provided in the ad and a girl named Verona answered and said pets are not allowed while in the ad it says it IS allowed! Too many red flags at the very beginning. No wonder this unit has been in the market for rent for 99 days as of today (11/12/19). I am sorry for the owner of this property who trusted these people to rent out his apartment.
Worst experience ever! I have asked repeatedly for assistance with the bugs and cleanliness of the property! California state law says it is mandatory for a property manager/ landlord to inspect and clean property before tenants move in. Even after explaining this to me Ortega of the San Diego Office he assured me he would take care of it! 15 days later once I moved in there was rat droppings and dead bugs under the fridge and stove! They did not clean the window seals or any y’all cabinet spaces. It was a complete shock to my surprise! I wanted to vacate my lease and they gave me the oppressors to do so but I would not get my security deposit back on time so I had no choice but to stay! Additionally they have 30 days to fix any habitability issues but I guess they have way too many properties to manage as I ha e been here for 3 mo this and still have live wires hanging oh the of the wall that they have yet to contact me about or fix! The communication is good when they want their money but they don’t care when it comes to them actually doing any work! I would give less than one star if I could!
Very unresponsive and unreliable. Complains are never acted upon and overall communication is very poor. Makes you wonder: 1- what these people actually do, 2- with what criteria they select their on-site management.I highly recommend to find another solution if possible.
Would rate 1 star if I could. They take forever to answer maintenance requests and then try to scam you out of your security deposit return. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY.
MOLD EVERYWHERE. STAY AWAY. TERRIBLE COMPANY FROM DAY 1. When we went to move in on day one the house smelled horrible. Its smells of pet urine and mold. We asked the company to have someone come check it out and Mike Ricks told us that it was fine. This was our first experience with him. So we continued to speak to our original lease manager (who was respectful) and they finally agreed to have the carpets shampooed for the THIRD time. They had them cleaned because they also were aware of the horrible smell. They did agree the house/carpet smelled bad finally. The carpet cleaner came and the carpet was fine for all about 2 hours, then back to the moldy, urine smell. And now they are not even walk-able as they are somewhat sticky and damp. There is also some mold type thing growing in the middle of one of the pet urine stains that has resurfaced. See pics. We have been trying to get in contact with Mike Ricks for 4 days now without a response. Finally we got an email from him just now stating they will not replace the carpet or do anything about it. And that was it? Unfortunately will have to get lawyers involved now as we cannot live in a mold infested home safely. Not only mold in carpets but in showers as well. See pics. Terrible company to not respect new tenants and treat them the way they have treated us. This is all of day 6 we have lived in the house by the way.
I am a Roofing Contractor (Shield Roofing Inc.) and have been working with GoldenWest Management for over 2 years now. They are very always are providing work and taking care of their tenants as soon as a problem comes up. They are friendly, professional, great with keeping communication during jobs and pay as soon as the job is complete. I highly recommend Jayson Yoss and his team at GoldenWest Management!
They made me register with my credit card details, charged me a “one-time fee” and then when do you think they will give you the password for the lockbox, you receive message saying that someone will call you and this call never happens, next day the house was no longer available!! total scammers! Don’t waist your time!!!
I cannot recommend this company highly enough. My new condo was rented within days of me purchasing it and Jayson and his team took care of everything. This is the first time I have used a property management company (I have a number of properties) and it is certainly worth it. The cost is minimal considering the level of service provided. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could.

Thanks to Yuri’s quick response to our tenants 1/15/2016 repair request. A licensed plumber was dispatched within an hour to stop a leak on the first floor ceiling that stemmed from an issue on the second floor. Within 3hrs everything was fixed! The simple fact that GoldenWest made my property a priority really validated that I picked the best property management company in the state!

I had hastily rented my house upon an overseas trip abroad to Mongolia. Initially I had contracted a property management firm, but it turned out the tenant was a handful and totally taking advantage of me and my outside the US living status. I found Jayson and his team on the internet and was sold he was a go to guy for the situation. He is a no nonsense guy. If you want codling maybe not your guy but as any tenant knows when things go south, you need a strong PM who can get the job done. He handled this nightmarish tenant and got him out!! The next tenant he brought in was a dream!. No hassles. I felt he was on my side the whole time. I highly recommend him if you do not want to deal with issues. Price is right for the service I received. Rare indeed!
Excellent management company. Found one of their listings online when I was relocating to CA from AZ. Never looked the place and Goldenwest made it super easy for me to sign the lease and handle the transaction.Since starting my lease I had 3 maintenance needs and they handled them in a timely and professional manner. I spoke to Jorge regarding management for my condo in North County. He was very professional and informative. I spoke to other companies but the connection was not the same. I decided to take the next step and meet with him. He was everything that should be expected from a professional firm. Dressed well very presentable. Being new to this, he was very patient with the 1000 questions I had. The only reason I did not sign with GoldenWest is because I will not be moving out until summer of 2017.
They did a great job of assisting us and working with us on short notice. They also did their best to make sure were comfortable in our new home
Extremely disappointed by the way I was treated with this unprofessional business. First, I arrive at the showing at the exact time I promised to no one there. After waiting 10 minutes, I finally email and call GWM. Finally, the property manager shows up with another prospective client walking in behind him. As if waiting wasn’t bad, he explains that he was going to show the apartment to the other person FIRST. But wait, it gets worst. He realizes he doesn’t even have the right keys to the apartment. So not only did I waste my entire lunch break driving an hour round trip for nothing, but after repeated calls, emails and texts, I never receive a new showing. Would not recommend working with this unprofessional company.
We have been very pleased with the timely management of tenant issues and requests. Golden west has been there for us working for us on all accounts. I strongly recommend their services to anyone who is looking to get their property managed.

Golden West management was very proficent in their finding me a tenant and helping me get my rental remodeled. I made it a learning experience, and played the general contractor. Next time I will just let Razzell and Jayson and the rest of the team do this. They did a great job.
I never met Jayson in person (only online), yet he was amazingly easy to work with and trustworthy. My condo was always rented, and when I needed to sell it, he did a great job doing that. Being 100% remote, I didnt have any ability to babysit the rental or the sale situation and I didnt have to. Everything was taken care of promptly and there were no issues with the entire transaction. Additionally, when it was rented, my neighbors were very happy with the tenants he found (weve had a history of bad tenants in our complex, so the neighbors are really sensitive to this). Its a bummer to read that other people had bad experiences because mine was great. Ive recommended him to a friend and would do it again!

As an Owner I am extremely happy with how GWM has handled my property over the last year. From initial contact and the leasing estimate to end of term closeout; all contact has been smooth and seamless. Terrible customer service, don’t do what they promise, and will try to squeeze every nickel out of you. Wishing I wasn’t in my lease for another 6 months, I’ve already been here 1.5 years. Not a great experience. Would not recommend.
