I dont know where to begin.... yet Id be remiss if I didnt first acknowledge the incredible family atmosphere.Coming from morbid obesity, I was always intimidated by gyms. In losing over 130 lbs naturally, I had to research and go visit many gyms to take my fitness to the next level.Walking in to Sterns, I was taken off guard with the amazing photos up the 28 steps as you walk in. The history of the gym being established since 1946 alone piqued my curiosity.From the moment I was greeted by friendly staff to exceptional one-on-one training with Kelly, to the home feeling atmosphere itself...... Im hooked.I can sincerely understand why Sterns Gym has been a legacy and oldest old school body building gym in the U.S. and rated top 20 Best Gyms in 2021 with Expertise.com.For me, youre in the right place with Sterns.

I dont write reviews, in fact this is my FIRST REVIEW EVER! I love everything about Sterns Gym except the owner. Give him a call and see how he treats you. The owner had no clue who I was nor had he ever met me. I got maybe 4 words out before I was berated trying to ask if the gym is currently open. Learn to talk to people with respect Shannon. I have a Youtube channel with over 150k subscribers and a client base of 50. I am training for my first bodybuilding show. I also live in San Diego. I would have loved to promote Sterns. Not anymore.

Oldest Gym in the US a definite visit for any gym rat. Everything about this gym is simply perfect and can not be replicated by any other gym. Ill put it number one on my list ahead of Golds Venice

My Dad has owned Sterns Gym since 1992 and he has done a great job with keeping that old school feel to it. I love this gym and the people that workout there, And if youre ever in San Diego you have to visit Sterns gym!

Sterns Gym is one of the oldest gyms in the county. Shannon and his staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Everyone is welcome at Sterns. You will find generations training at this no nonsense gym.

My favorite gym in the entire United States. The only place I feel 100% comfortable working out. Old school, original, nostalgic.

It is a true gym! No makeup, just sweat! There are pictures all over the wall of current and former bodybuilders/fitness models that have frequented at Sterns. Owner is friendly and helpful...received personal training that was extremely helpful!

You can feel all the legends in this gym. This is a lions den and If you arent hungry you probably wont like this place as much.

The atmosphere ist great. Good parken Options around the gym (some for free). 8$ for a 1-day Pass is a fair price. You can buy gym clothes, drinks and supplements. Top!!

Ive been frequenting this gym since 1979, as a navy wrestler and fell into powerlifting and bodybuilding leo was a no nonsense non-pc kind of guy.he told you the truth about your abilitities made you prove to yourself about your abilities and limitations with one look he can tell how far you will go.he didnt believe in everybody gets a trophy just for participating, no false hopes from him. hard work and earning yours made you appreciate what you have gained in life and treasure it. i was privileged that he decided to train me and guide me to a few bodybuilding titles the very first npc national military championships at pendelton at the time, the first. from pro wrestlers to football players and top bodybuilding champions have workout there for these reasons no frills, respect for everyone, no distractions even arnie and big lou had to pay dues. everybody starts on an equal plain here.leo believed in practical muscle aestetic to the eye and useful to your life. proud to have been the last to learn leo sterns training and posing philosophy, even the old time strength tshow tricks . shannon the sherman tank is a bodybuilder with a very interesting atheletic pass himself continues with the traditions thank you shannon.
