Brandon at the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable about the facility. Answered all my questions! Thanks again Brandon!
My disappointment was immense upon finding out that the facilities used to play indoor basketball were unfortunately no longer available for my usage. Overpriced and overrated!
Jackuisiy and suna room yes.
Decent outdoor portion of the gym and considering the current health crisis I’m only willing to work out in an out door setting. My main concern is the management. They closed the outdoor portion because it was cloudy and may rain? They claimed it rained earlier in the morning and they were letting it dry. It was bone dry when i arrived. Sometimes common sense doesn’t prevail.
Wow! How a place can turn itself around. I have been a resident for all my life and know what it means to have a YMCA in our neighborhood. I can finally say that I feel Copley-Price now represents us. Their team is so much more diverse. Their membership management actually calls back, and in a timely manner. And their customer service is truly something I look forward to when I go there. I only have one suggestion. Longer hours.
Would not let me take a shower.
The Copley-Price Family YMCA has transformed the blocks surrounding it in City Heights, Talmadge, and Kensington. We love having such an amazing community hub so close to us!
I went in the other day with me boyfriend to use the free day pass that they have online, Will helped us and he was amazing! He was attentive, kind, and very informative. The facility was also very clean and nice all around. We’ll definitely be coming back to buy a membership soon.
Don’t expect to visit with your nationwide membership, they don’t cater to it. But will happily charge you $75 a week to visit.
Great Gym Ive been coming here daily for a few weeks now, no 12 month commitment or anything of the sort, friendly staff. I had a wonderful experience signing up with Tom who answered all my questions and solved all my issues with a welcoming smile on his face. The only complaint I have is they still use rags to wipe down the equipment instead of papertowels. If they just charged a dollar more a month from everyone and switched to paper towels I would be much happier. But I still gave 5stars because Tom was so kind/ helpful he really made my sign up experience amazing.
I love love this place but I wish there was a way to get people (especially kids) to shower or rinse off BEFORE getting into swimming pools. It’s getting worse and worse every summer and it’s only a few years old. They’re constantly having to shut down pool due to “contamination” of some sort in the water levels. And the water is sooo warm it’s like a bath. So when we are taking a Water Aerobics class it’s very hard to not yawn and stay awake.Aside from pool it’s a great place to get fit and lots of choices of activities for all ages.
Just joined the club there and Im so pleased. Not a meat market, but a great place to work out. Its pretty darn clean and makes working out fun!Its little crowded at the predicable times, but thats with every Gym-- this one is worth the bucks.
Due to COVID-19 they have shutdown, and my finances are now cut tighter than ever. I have followed this companys policies in cancelling my membership, and I have received emails from them over and over regarding how they will STILL CHARGE ME and none regarding my cancellation. How disappointing, coming from a company that prides themselves in being known for taking care of their communities.
I love Pickle Ball . I have all these wonderful new friends. Ive lost 10 lbs and look forward to exercising every day almost but Thursday and on Thursday I go upstairs and use bicycle and weight room. The staff is very helpful and teachers for classes are great .Before Pickle Ball, I did water arobics classes . Zumba & yoga. Im sure when weather is hotter I will do classes again but right now Im very addicted to Pickle Ball. It is so much fun and great exercise. On Friday morning I go to Mission Valley YMCA and do the Barre Class which is very good for toning, strengthening bones and balance. Wish they had it at Copley then I would not have to drive there at all because Copley is closer to my home. Then I go to Pickle Ball at Copley after the Barre Class at Mission Valley. The people are so nice and very welcoming. I love going there. I also take no medications. Thanks to exercise it is the key to good health. Im so happy to not have to drive so far to keep healthy since the Copley YMCA was built. Also they have a great coffee shop. Coffee is delicious. Better than Starbucks and price too.
Absolutely the best! Great location, beautiful facilities, lots of covered parking and best of all, excellent, committed teachers and staff. And it is a welcoming, safe place for little kids to 80+ year olds.
Staff is very friendly and the facility really clean. A great and enjoyable place to workout .
I lost my wedding ring Yesterday at the YMCA I usually never take it off but yesterday 3/28/16 I did after getting out of the pool. I went to the first Family Bathroom with my 6 year old next to the pool. I left yesterday at 8:30pm so 1 hour and a half till closing procedures. If you have any information or may have the rings I will give a reward Please & thank you. Its not about the value of the rings its whats behind it & what it means to me.P.S it was an honest mistakeOther than that some staff are wonderful than others. I asked for a tour when I got the membership & they told me to walk around on my own to see the place. Parking is great! A lot of friendly families.
More getto than prison itself. Bunch of ex prisoners and bullies. Avoid being there at all cost. .I got robbed twice there. 1 star is more than enough
I love this place everyone is so friendly, especially Vanessa at front office! She was very helpful, and walked me through the whole signing up process! Thanks
The best place for sport
Ive visited nearly all of the YMCAs in SD and this one is definitely my favorite. Clean, spacious, outdoor workout area, indoor/outdoor pool, new equipment, and friendly staff.
Best place to work out.
I love working out there and staff seems very kind
The gym facilities are excellent, many different workout room. i am a big fan of their patio workout space.
I swam here for a while on a discounted membership because times are hard. The pool is small but adequate, the locker rooms are kept tighty. When I could no longer afford to pay for my membership I went it to cancel and they said that because I was only 5 days before my cancelation date they would charge me again. This payment will have a negative effect on my life. They claim to be about community, religion, and ethics but this is a predatory practice and I need to speak up about it. I dont think its right despite what was signed I initially, things change, circumstances come up. You guys could do much better.
These places have become a dump! I cant believe people still pay $$ just to go to the gym.
Good place for just getting fit. If you subscribe to a particular program such as power lifting it may be hard to do since there is only one power rack but it is possible. Im really a big fan of the new outdoor fitness area to practice some functional and athletic training.
Awesome place! Jovanni and Brandon were super helpful and the facility may be the best in San Diego.
Price YMCA worst front desk customer service I have not seen in my life. I was sign in for summer camp for my daughter the first time then about two days I called in they says they did not know any thing .I have to go back to sign up again. When I canceled and I have canceled two time . I have lost money one week . your kid have no where to go be sure you have receive with there name on your receive.
Good workout place. A bit busy during peak hours but great when you come early In the mornings. Nice yoga class with good instructors.
Extremely unprofessional and unprepared after calling numerous time about lowering the courts for my 5yr and 4yr to shoot on. The employee assured me it would not be a problem but when we arrived they did not have the key to unlock the equipment to lower the court in the basketball gym. It’s hard to understand that only one person can have the key to unlock a equipment door. It defeats the fact of being a YMCA if kids can’t play or use the equipment. Should they wait until they’re old enough to get a membership to 24hr fitness, or maybe somebody other than George should have the key. Thanks YMCA for serving your purpose
Great place to work out! There are some exceptions. During rush hours 5pm and on it gets super packed. There was teenagers using equipment without supervision, which is scary. I seen a couple of confrontations in the morning between clients and an employer there. It is noticeable and uncomfortable. All in all, the best time to get your workout is either before or much after rush hour!
I dont rate 5 stars because There’s one thing that needs a change is Child Watch hours!! It should close for ONLY 1 hour or be open all day.
The pools are magnificent and the temperature is perfect. lots of classes if you want them. the machines have individual state of the art t.v, internet, email, and it will track your progress and send you emails as to that. basketball court, soccer, everything is so clean and new, its a wonderful addition to our neighborhood. many activities for older people too.
Child watch needs to re evaluate their workers. The main ladies look like they hate their job and it rubs off on the kids (except forJackie) Copley Price overall is great but until they replace these ladies in the morning I wouldnt suggest drooping off your kids.
Employees don’t pick up the phone. I had to go to another Y just to change some paperwork because apparently they never turned it in; ridiculous 🙄 Also let people be dj and play obnoxious music in the locker rooms. G H E T T O
Really affordable music classes. The indoor pool is awesome and the mini water park is a great hit with the kids.
A very open atmosphere, good security, sliding scale monthly pmnt.jacuzi, pool till 830pm indoor outdoor.full gym very big. Lots of kids activities. COPLEYS are so generous.
Shameful what bad management and ill-trained staff can do to such a beautiful YMCA.I grew going to the YMCA. I learned how to swim and play tennis at the Magdalena YMCA in Encinitas as child. Always had great experiences and made me think very highly of the YMCA.No doubt, this is a great facility in terms of amenities and features, but if those amenities arent maintained, then was it worth the investment?Compared to other YMCAs, the big noticeable difference with this location is the general upkeep of the Locker Room. I cant speak about the Womens locker room, but the Mens locker room is not well maintained and generally in poor condition. Looking back, in other locations I recall always seeing the cleaning staff coming in and out of the locker rooms. In all my visits here, I do not recall ever seeing an attendant inside the locker rooms. In general, they have a good selection of group exercise classes and a good schedule. My wife and I did several classes and enjoyed most of them. The only classes I often found lacking inspiration were the Spin classes. So if you are thinking of joining for that, I wouldnt recommend it.Its a great facility, but not very large. The weight area is a bit tight and it can get pretty crowded. I found myself doing free weights in the outside workout space to avoid the crowds. Not the best option if its cold or too hot. What finally made me cancel my membership was that my locker was broken into and everything was stolen. The fact that it happened wasnt why I cancelled, but how it was handled is why I cancelled. My locker was pried opened and the initial statements from the staff member were the following:- Are you sure that was your locker : while looking at a broken empty locker*- Yeah, this has happened a couple of times in the past few weeks : So you know its happening and nothing is done to prevent it?- Well theres nothing we can do: Why even have cameras at all? Why check badges? Im sure people taking there families there want a sense of security. In my conversation over the phone, the Director offered nothing more than canned and scripted answers. No empathy (Even if its fake!), no solutions and no assurances. They didnt bother looking at the cameras. They just said the police had to do. SD Police in City Heights has bigger things to worry about then locker room theft. I filed a police report, but of course, nothing was done. For those wondering...Within 30 minutes of me finding my locker broken into, I had almost $1,000 dollars in charges on my debit and credit cards from nearby places like GameStop, Bobs smoke shop and Vons. Whoever is breaking into the lockers, obviously knows what they are doing and they know the YMCA is a soft target.
The staff is super friendly, and theres a wide variety of exercise classes for every level. Its well worth the price of membership.
Outdoor adult lap pool filled with kids and the filtration system is subpar. Swam for about 1 year and1/2 in a pool I could swear was saltwater, until they cleaned it I was a bit disgusted, then they cancelled the masters program and didnt even notify me.Many members are rude and aggressive. Sorry but kids in diapers belong in a kids pool.
I love their Gym and her gymnastics and plus they have great soccer I love their pool they kept it clean and their bathrooms were so nice they kept them clean and it didnt smell like old towels or swet or anything like that it smell amazing not to be weird but it did and I just think that its a really good place to go go YMCA
This place is horrible! They wouldnt let us in the outdoor pool and then they took the indoor pool and made a tiny rectangle and put like 50 people in it, no one could fitAnd when we got into the spa they told us to get out and wouldnt even let us in the indoor pool eitherAnd when we got there they made us sign a ton of paperwork. The soap in the bathroom snelled nasty too! Im never going back!!!!!
It is ok
Changes with the Gym are Great, Instructors are awesome and I enjoy this facility! (Two Thumbs Up!)
I really enjoying head to this ymca because there employees are nice and sometimes it could be not that busy
Financial staff NOT A CLUEGOT MY RENEWAL IN MAIL WITH 8 DAYS TO RETURNSOME ONE NEEDS TO STEP IN HEREANDMANAGE THIS LOCATION!CLASSES AND EMPLOYEES GREAT
Good Place, but they don’t answer their phone
Gym is nice, even though i can never sighn into my gym account on the tred mils, public pool is big but sometimes packed, lockers are clean with many lockers always avaible
Love this Y. Really diverse group of people, great classes with great instructors. I couldnt ask for more.
This echoes my yelp review. The weights and cardio were an afterthought to this daycare. The members use the whole facility as a daycare, even though the whole first floor is, in fact, a daycare. Kids hanging from weight machines and swiping the screens on the cardio machines, making an already sparse gym basically unusable and not worth it. What happened YMCA?
They lie about the time that the pool opens and I can never do plans there because they lie about the time the pool opens and they make me wait hours and they destroy my plans because of their horrible employes. I am so mad about this because it happened 4 times already.
Friendly staff, amazing yoga classes, and nice gym at an affordable price.
Great!! I love working out there is very clean and neat..
Its a good gym but needs dumbbell doubles as well as heavier
Stop doing wrist band check who cares just let people play basketball.
Awesome. Really fun and there was no judgment. Loved it.
They never turn on the feild lights so that people can play anymore. They say only for the people who rent it but we pay for the ymca membership so we should be getting the same equality
Basketball courts are pretty good. Workout machines are alright.
If it wasnt for the Copley price YMCA I would definitely exercise a lot less! It is affordable and has something for all of the family
They have everything you need and really friendly environment
Whats up with the new hours? The Y has been great up to this point, but now the hours are unreasonable; weve been two days in a row during normal hours and theyve been closed.
Awesome job, thank you for providing such a diverse atmosphere!!!
I sneak in the pool without ymca pass lol
Just wanna know if you guys have a sauna
Terrible management... its run like a JR High with not the brightest staff. Also full of borderline criminal kids who take up the already too small weight room.
Very clean with friendly staff. Amazing facilities for underprivileged youth. Huge asset to the community.
Love the outdoors fit area. ...
Person answering the phone was very rushed and hang up on me before I was finished with my questions.
The staff is rude, the staff member-personal trainer makes it a point to give his rude, personal opinion about the female members, who work out there, i had to report him to the management.
The gym is alright, but some of the people who work there must really hate their job.....
Everything is good
Someone stole my wallet out of my locker.
Great YMCA, with lots of amenities!
Too expensive!!!!
I like the free soccer field
Copley Price Family YMCA is completed, and Pearson Ford is gone forever.
SMALL GYM NEED TO EXPAND THIS GYM !!!!!!!
Lose lame stupid
Fabulous
G H E T T O
