Its your standard local gym. The staff is nice and helpful. However, it still has people who dont clean after themselves but its not the owners fault.

Member since 2003. My training philosophy and practice have evolved over the years and Being Fit has had super options for me every step of the way. My primary focus is now on yoga and the yoga instruction at Being Fit is generally quite good. In fact, the six times weekly yoga classes alone are worth the price of membership for me.So, too, the staff, in addition to being small enough to greet on a first name basis without needing name tags, is very helpful and accomodating. It is a pleasure being able to deal with people on a personal level rather than being a number in a corporate data base and getting tangled up in the red tape of corporate bureaucracy.

Terrible management. The lady at the front desk is rudest of all. Please avoid this gym at all costs. They make mistakes and then put you on the spot. She charged me without my consent and keeps arguing about things which never happened.

Perfect gym for my needs! If you are looking for fancy then this is not the gym. But if you are looking for a good gym that has everything you need without breaking the bank. It couldn’t get any better!!! Thanks being fit!

This fitness center meets my physical, mental, emotional & social needs. The muscle-up & RIPPED classes make me physically fit & strong; the yoga classes keep me flexible, grounded, focused & determined; the zumba classes lift my mood and keep me agile; and the group class instructors and staff are great! This fitness center is highly recommended!

10 Years ago when I was in high school I walked in to Being Fit. I sat down with Todd who asked me what my goal was. I looked him dead in his eyes, the windows of his soul, and I said I want to be fit.10 years have gone by and after spending 4 years in japan it was time to return home to Mira Mesa. I renewed my membership with the same goals in mind. Nine months later I feel like the Bob Ross of physique. The courteous staff has been nothing but friendly and supportive, especially Todd. I know that when Todd says Hi Dustin what he is really saying is Dustin you are very big and strong today and that always seems to give a nice boost to my self esteem.Seriously though, Being Fit is awesome. If you want an affordable gym, with a great staff, its own Todd, and good equipment, Being Fit has everything you need and more. The social climate is great and I never have issues working in a set with someone and asking for a spot. This gym is great.

My boyfriend and I recently decided to cancel our gym membership with a corporate gym because of how busy it gets and a few other reasons I will not mention. I heard about Being Fit in Mira Mesa through a coworker, and since I recently moved to Mira Mesa, I decided to go check it out. WOW!! Am I glad I did! It was like night and day compared to the corporate gyms. The staff was extremely friendly and so helpful. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a smile by an employee named Todd, he even shook my hand when introducing himself. I received a tour of the gym and he answered all of my annoying questions I had for him. Signing up was never so easy and he went over the agreement with me explaining their cancel policy, which I never got from the corporate gym I was at. But Being Fit was simple, since I know my job requires relocating at any given time, I chose their month to month membership, and all I have to do to cancel is give a 30 day written notice (they even have the form there at the gym). The staff was amazing and made me feel at home. I was so pleased to see that awesome customer service still exists! I look forward to my first workout there.

In all honesty, I mostly use Being Fit as a yoga studio. The best yoga classes and teachers! Everyone is friendly, and it truly feels like a community. There are tons of classes, of all types, available, and I have many friends who go to multiple classes every week, or even every day. It is very economical - the best deal in town. I have been happy enough that I go consistently, which makes it a good value.

This isnt some ritzy gym with pretentious guests and thats why I love working out here ! Very community -oriented and lots of chill, laid-back retirees when I go, especially morning hours, people are on a first-name basis, etc. Great variety of classes with motivating instructors. Ive only been to one class that I wasnt a fan of, but everything else was awesome. Zumba classes especially become overcrowded here, so plan accordingly! I also wish they would provide sanitation wipes instead of communal sanitizing spray bottle and towel, but its not too bad. I mingle with awesome people and get a great workout, and very minor discomforts are worth it for the savings in my opinion. Price is unbeatable and extra points for not being stuck in a pricey contract! Was a member here over a decade ago and wasnt as much a fan, but gave it another chance. . I like the management and staff much better now .

My husband and I have been going to this gym (in Mira Mesa) for over a year and LOVE it! The people we have been in contact with and have trained with are very knowledgeable and nice and we have a lot of fun. They inspired me to become a personal trainer to help others. Will be going here for a long time to come.

Where do I even begin worse establishment ever!!! They are rude and have terrible customer service! I think the last one I spoke to was Sarah or Samantha and shes the rudest of them all. the gym is small and stinks so bad!! I moved across the country 3000 miles away and Called and told them that I moved and I no longer need the membership they asked me to send in a written 30 day notice. I mailed them a notice in January 2018 this year and they keep saying they did not get the notice. I have called over and over again And they will not cancel my membership. I live in Virginia now and youre located in California so why do I need to send a written notice in the first place just take a notice over the phone. They have charged me for almost a year now while I live in another state. I have called them almost every month since Ive moved away and I just get the runaround then I go and change my debit card number and get a whole new debit card and they threatened to take me to collections. do yourself a favor and stay away from this place they have no morals and they will not stop charging your card if you want to cancel or even move away! I will be going to the better business bureau with this. I called the Claremont location and that is what they recommended.

Glad Im not the only one who noticed. I totally agree with the last review.Maybe not the gym management fault but they should at least try to help.So many guys who go to this gym just plain S. T. I. N. K.Management should at least post signs to encourage their customers to be more mindful of others and maybe shower before going to the gym? Its bad enough when you have everyone in the vicinity sweating, its sooooo bad when you smell horrendous Body Odor. I really really hope management post signs about proper gym etiquette and hygiene Im sure they dont want to embarrass their stinky customers but at least do something to let your other customers know you care about them.

This is a great gym in Mira Mesa at the best price in San Diego. They have everything - free weights up to 100 lb, squat rack, bench press, machines, a cardio room with bicycles and treadmills, and an open gym area where there are many yoga and cardio classes. There are showers in the locker rooms, and everything is kept pretty clean. Its not as big as 24-hour or LA fitness, but Being Fit has everything for whatever your fitness goals are.

They cheated on the customer by the way no contract and pay by monthly. But actually, if you call to cancel they will not take that. So they will take your monthly until you come and sign paper. They are very rude. People should aware this fitness. 24 hours and LA fitness is much be better.

I visited this gym to join and was surprised to find an application, enrollment and prorated fee was required. When I asked about waiving or explaining the purpose of the fees (namely the application and enrollment fees), the individual told me that it wasnt the gym for me and ended my inquiry. A day later I saw a public advertisement for the gym stating no enrollment fees. I sent an EMail to the Gym and got another individual. This time I sent a copy of the advertisement, asking if theyd extend this offer to me. They never responded to my request, even after multiple follow-ups. While I cannot comment on the gym as a member, I can state the two individuals I met and communicated with where unprofessional at best, and they seem to engage in false advertising practices.

I moved to San Diego earlier in the year from a small town in Riverside County. I work out religiously and needed a new home (gym). Being Fit was right down the street from my temporary place of living. After trying 24 (always rude to me when it comes to guest passes), EOS (smells like butt and urine in the free weights), and a couple others, I finally made my way into Being Fit.Expecting a $10 minimum to workout, I pulled out my wallet and ID. Emberlin informed me that the first time is FREE. It was a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, and though the gym isnt the largest (Im a small gym kinda guy), it wasnt filled whatsoever. It had everything I needed and more. Yes, you do get what you pay for...$19 a month will not get you a back rub and a handy, but the place is sanitary, and like I said, I leave with a solid pump every time. All the staff is great, but Todd is an awesome guy to ask for. He remembers everyones names and makes you feel welcome every time you go in. Just bring a towel and put on some smell good, duh.

I went to being fit on Friday for a workout. I was unfamiliar with some of the work out equipment. I ask the employee on duty to if she could show me. She said she would show me one but is not trained to do so. I asked later if I could sign up to be shown equipment. She said the personal trainers dont do that, they want you to use free weights. I said I never heard of that, when you are new you need to be shown. I asked what if you hurt yourself. She said its a gym. Thats when I got mad and said bullshit. She then said I was rude and needed to apologize. I did. Now today I was told not to come back. The owner believed her employee and not me.
