This was an amazing experience for my family! This was our first deep sea fishing trip so we were not sure what to expect. The moment we arrived, Captain Lonnie and 1st mate Trey greeted us and immediately we felt at ease and were treated like Kings! 2 adults and 3 kids (9-14) were all impressed by the beautiful boat and accommodations! Lonnie knew right where to go for a serious great catch! He is super knowledgeable and didnt seem to mind our million questions about everything! This was a lifetime experience for us and it could not have gone better! Thank you all!!

Wow. When you pay good money for a service, you usually expect good service. Cobalt was SO MUCH MORE! A fantastic trip all around. Our group consisted of 3 adults and 2 children. And boy did we all have a grand time! This is a premium service if Ive ever seen one. Good people, very good food, and safety precautions were taken seriously.I honestly lost count of how much fish we caught (definitely within legal limits though). Breakfast and lots of snacks were provided. And the sandwiches we were served at lunch were really good! Cobalt serves a healthy lunch too (sandwich, potato salad, apple, and cheese). Lots of cold drinks on deck too :)We headed out at around 6:15 AM on 3/31/21 into the Pacific waters and came back at 2:30 PM. We first passed by a live bait shop on the water and loaded our tanks with the liveliest sardines. Headed out for about 9 to 10 miles and started dropping our gear. If the spot is good, we would spend a good 30 minutes pulling some big old hogs. If no bites 10 minutes at a spot and were out at a better one. No time was wasted.We came across a huge pod of dolphins and Lonnie made sure we got a show :D We sailed past (and stopped to watch) some of them feeding on a ball of bait. This was magical!Our captain Lonnie and his first mate Tanner were just amazing. Offering a true premium service, theyd even offer to reel in the line for us to save time and energy when were about to change spots.Quite honestly, I would not try any other fishing service in SD now. Thank you Ted, Lonnie, and Tanner :)

Went out with Cobalt yesterday for a full day trip and had a blast. Great crew and great boat. The crew are very professional and the boat was clean, well maintained, the gear and the service was top notch. We caught a ton fish. 5 stars all the way!!!

I can’t say enough about Lonnie and Trey. Great personalities and super attentive to making sure you have a great experience. These guys put our group on fish immediately and made our half day trip memorable. Everyone fishing complained of sore hands and backs from reeling all the fish in. If you want a great fishing experience with down to earth good people. Cobalt fishing is what you are looking for! We are doing it again for sure!

Incredible experience! Captain Lonnie and the crew took great care of us on our 1.5 day trip. Excellent service all around from rigging up rods, serving good meals, and providing tons of insight and advice. I would highly recommend this for experts and novices alike - I learned a ton!As soon as you pull up on a kelp patty or a school of fish, IT IS ON. And if you get tangled up or snap a line, the crew is right there to take the old rod and hand you a new one so you can get back in the water. If the captain happens to hook one, he hands you the rod so you can reel it in. I brought my own gear, but didnt end up using any of it because they provide everything!Ive been on the cattle boats before, and after taking this trip I am spoiled. Once you factor in that all gear and tackle, and all food are provided, plus the level of service, PLUS the boat was very clean and well-taken care of - the value is incredible. I would 100% recommend Cobalt Sportfishing to anyone and everyone who is thinking of going. I will definitely be booking with them again in the future.

My experience on this boat was awesome anybody that would give this boat anything but a five-star obviously has not been on this boat the captain of this boat is a very nice person very knowledgeable with fishing and a great person

After all the complaint about smoke from the fires we booked a full day trip and can you image, 30 miles off shore more smoke.But this smoke was from our reels.Awesome trip.Thanks Lonnie and Tim for the amazing time. I booked a trip for my boyfriend and his friends for his birthday!They had an amazing trip! It was their very first time doing deep fishing and they were not disappointed. Just finished a 24hr trip and I had a blast! The boat is awesome, clean and well kept up. The crew is phenomenal they made sure we got on fish and took care of us the whole time. I highly recommend fishing with them!

Our experience on the Cobalt was amazing. Ted and the crew were extremely hospitable. We departed San Diego around 8:30pm. Ted, Lonny, and Tanner met us on the dock and gave us the rundown of what to expect. They were very open with communication and gave us some options on what we could fish for. After choosing to target mahi-mahi south into Mexico, we were underway. First thing in the morning we hit yellowfin on a troll, then were onto a school a mahi that did not seem to end. Ted, Lonnie, and Tanner were on it. Having half the group with some experience, and half never being on the water before the crew was extremely helpful and patient with everyone during the extremely heavy runs of fish. We will definitely book with Capt. Ted and the Cobalt again in the future!

I may not have taken this trip myself, but let me tell you I know it was a great one! I surprised my boyfriend with the full day, offshore trip for his 24th birthday and invited 5 of his buddies to fish along. At the end of the day, every single one of them walked back into the house with the biggest smile on their face. To say they slayed it out there doesn’t do it justice. We have enough fish in this fridge to feed a village! The best part of it all was Captain Jason and deckhand Greg. They made this trip one of the best ones these boys have EVER had. Such a great crew and experience. Can’t thank you both enough for all that you did! With that being said, book with Cobalt! You won’t be disappointed.

Simple, Cobalt fishing will put fish on the deck and make sure your having a good time doing it. Coming from a boat owner I appreciate the fishability and comfort of Cobalt. The boats fully equipped with multiple beds, full galley, stocked fridge of food/beer, and plenty of snacks to grab between the bites. Southern cal fishing is all about the presentation of live bait which we had three scoops of, not one turned belly up throughout the day. I would like to thanks Jason the capt for his attentiveness towards fishing and ability to find fish. He got us on a school around noon and fished it till sundown, always 1-3 fish hung at a time. The bite was so hot we picked up 2 yft yo-yoing a colt sniper. Tips for a great trip include plenty of screwball and eating the head off a sardine! Tight lines and bloody decks.
