Weve been going to Cabrillo Pet Hospital for almost 20 years, and love them! Theyve taken very good care of our dogs and cat, and they take the time to answer our questions. Our last visit was an emergency because our dogs nail had been partially torn off. Were very grateful that Dr. Rose took her in for the emergency, took great care of her, and sent her home with instructions. Our dog doesnt like going to the vet at all, and they also handled that well! Penny healed well, just like they thought she probably would. Weve never been disappointed here.

Cabrillo Pet Hospital is the best vet Ive been to in San Diego. There is not a long wait for appointments and the staff is all very kind. They explain things very well, answer phone calls quickly, are great with our cat, and are on top of everything. Love this place.

Dr. Camarata and the assistants are caring and kind. They are always willing to explain my cats issues, and the doctor comes up with good solutions. Ive called around, and the rates are competitive or lower than other Point Loma vet practices.

For the last 10 years I have been taking my dog to Cabrillo Pet Hospital for health and wellness treatments. In addition, Cabrillo Pet Hospitals Boarding Kennel has been his home away from home. I travel a lot and he is always welcome. The Cabrillo Vet Team is made up of caring, professionals that only want to do the right thing for me and my baby dog!

Just a horrible experience. My dog has been sick for weeks. Can’t get in for an appointment. When I do they put the dog on some medicines which didn’t work. When I called to let them know it didn’t work, they said I couldn’t get an appointment for more than a week. I brought my dog to the ER and she has an 8” tumor in her spleen. I called again to see if they could see her and figure out how to have the surgery and they told me to call around and see if someone else could do it. Ill never be back and highly recommend going elsewhere.

Following the recommendation of a friend we went to Cabrillo Pet Hospital and will not be going to any other animal hospital or veterinary practice so long as we live in San Diego.Over the years weve tried several, both corporate and local, with no success at treating our spicy cats with minimal stress to both felines and their human parents.We went from an initial introduction to making difficult decisions with Cabrillo Pet Hospital in a matter of hours due to our specific situation. I cannot understate the amount of compassion and patience we felt from each and every member of their team.They shared they treat each pet as their own and I truly felt that as we navigated our path. The needs of our feline were put ahead of any air of convenience in getting to the next.If you are struggling to find a place you are confident in taking your animals for care to, please strongly consider going to Cabrillo Pet Hospital.

I love the Cabrillo grooming team! My dog always leaves there looking and smelling so fresh. I love that they all really seem to love their job and the dogs they see every day.

I almost always have a very positive experience at this vet. They remember my pet and are very good at checking up on everything. I also appreciate the efforts they have made to keep everyone safe during the pandemic. I highly recommend this vet and will continue to go to them as long as I live in SD County (even if there are closer pet hospitals to my current home).

Live in the Wooded Area just down the street and have brought our 2 animals here for years, also purchase all their food in the store downstairs. Went in to make a routine purchase of flea medication this morning and the women at the front desk were sadly just objectively rude. Not sure what the deal was, everyone has bad days, but the interaction could not have been more unprofessional. In addition, they would only sell me a months worth of flea medication on account of the fact that our dog had not been in for an exam in the last year, yet failed to take in to account that COVID made in-person visits challenging to say the least. Seems if the health and wellness of the pet/patient is of upmost concern then it would be better policy to simply sell me the 6-months of flea medication during the height of flea season to ensure my dog is comfortable/protected then kindly request I schedule an exam visit, which I happily would have done. At the end of the day there are too many other options for pet care in San Diego available, so well happily drive an extra 15 minutes and forego anymore poor experiences at Cabrillo.

Truly a 5 star experience. I struggled just to find a decent vet, all the vets in my area were booked out for a few months due to covid. Luckily I came across Cabrillo pet hospital and they GENUINELY wanted to help my pet out and I am very thankful for that. I came to bring my pet for a check up, and they were so attentive and so nice. If I could I would leave a A+ rating on here. You seriously cant go wrong and you WILL love bringing your pet here :).

We have a frenchton pup that is going to be 7 months old when we leave for vacation for a month. She is being taken care of by family but we were worried about her going into heat while we were gone. Our regular vet couldnt fit us in and we called Cabrillo. They were able to get us in before we left which was a huge relief. We will taking all our puppy needs to Cabrillo in the future! The staff and service was amazing!

I recently had a fall and could not bathe my Westie. They were able to work me in and treated my guy well. He was clean and calm when we picked him up. The office was clean and professional. The gals were kind and affectionate towards my pooch. Thank you for rescuing Tucker from his “camping coat”.

Ive used Cabrillo Pet Hospital as my main Vet for a couple of years now. They provide great services all in one place: hospital, boarding facility, pet supply/ food shop, and they used to have a grooming facility - hope they bring this back sometime in the future. Ive always experienced great service and professionalism from all staff, vet techs and doctors.I recently had to put down my long time pitbull buddy Tank. it was very, very, very, hard/ devastating but the staff helped me through it and made the process less stressful. I truly appreciate them for that and for the follow up condolences. It showed me that they really do care about their pet patients and owners. For the reasons mentioned above, I will continue to use their services and I highly recommend Cabrillo Pet Hospital

Cabrillo is the best! Its impossible to improve on perfection.

I had an emergency with my cat one evening, and had called and left a message on their answering machine to see if I could get him in the next morning. They called me back as soon as they opened the next day and were able to get my cat in within 1.5 hours. My cat was seen immediately upon checking in and the staff were super helpful in getting him healthy again.I really appreciate the quick and responsive care I received from them. My cat was not originally a patient here and they were so swift in getting him in to be seen. I will now be making this my primary vet for my cat and dog.

Ive gone to three different animal hospitals in the Point Loma area. Cabrillo Pet Hospital is by far the most accommodating. Other vets have at least a two week lead time to be seen. Ive had semi-emergencies with my dogs and Cabrillo Pet Hospital was able to get us in within two days. We will be loyal customers going forward.

We have taken our dog and our cat to Cabrillo Pet Hospital since 2007. Dr. Cammarata is our vet, a graduate of Cornell. He was able to diagnose my dog when he first came as having something found only in Florida, from having done an internship there. No one at our previous vet could identify it.Cabrillo Pet Hospital is the only veterinary hospital in San Diego thats accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. Its brand new facility with state-of-the-art equipment was built by principal Gary Rose, DVM. Since he retired recently, its now under the ownership of the veterinarians who work there, which says a lot to me about pride in what they do and that its owned and run by its employees.From the staff to the vets, it is full of knowledgeable, compassionate people. They dont try to upsell you. They are market rate, and not discount, but competitive with other Point Loma area vets. Theyre open on Saturdays, in addition to weekdays. You can reach them any time by email. They offer alternative medicine and acupuncture, as well.

The staff here was amazing. Bailey had hurt her hip and her vet refused to do an exam without anesthetizing her. She is 11 years old, I was not about to let that happen. Dr. Comrado was able to do x-rays and diagnose her quickly and without sedation. It was also the first time in almost a year that she left the vet and was not shaking with fear, I can only assume he was very calm and reassuring with her. She is terrified of vets, but did not mind it her. COVID protocols made it a little strange, but it was overall a good experience considering the circumstance.

I would say this is the best pet hospital that Ive seen in my life. People are so nice and organized, desire to help you for the whole time. No matter how hard your problem is, theyre trying the best as they can. Very professional as well, I had my pet travel documents done at Cabrillo, and I dont even have to worried a thing because they know the steps clearly. Thanks to Alex specially, and Christina as well for really helping me through the whole process!! Without their help, I wont make it. Best veterinary in town!!

Dr. Johnson and the entire staff at Cabrillo have taken incredible care of our dog Mosey for years now. From routine checkups and vaccinations, to some very serious and scary injuries we’ve endured with our little guy, they have provided fantastic service and support. Tristan was quickly cared for and examined. During a very difficult time in our country,Cabrillo was the only hospital willing to take a new patient. Our pets are our family too, and we need to have access to medical care for them. Though there were extra security measures in place, Cabrillo took care of my fur baby and didnt hesitate to set up the appointment. Thank you.

I brought my dog here on a Friday back in May to have a lump looked at and have his annual shots. They tested it, and blood came out when they did. The doctor said verbatim It should be removed sooner rather than later. So they scheduled him for the following week. My dog was a little lethargic the next day, I didnt think much of it. Wake up Sunday morning and he cant walk. I rush him to San Diego Bay animal hospital (much better place btw) because Cabrillo is closed on Sundays. The lump on my dog had bled out over his entire body and I had to put him down that day. My dog is now dead because of the ignorance of the doctor at Cabrillo. Do your self and your pet a favor and never ever come to this facility. I will regret it for the rest of my life.

I recently moved to OB and took my shih tzu in for care and they did a wonderful job. Will be getting dental cleaning here shortly as well because they were reasonable and provided an estimate.

This was my first time at the hospital and my first time experiencing the curbside service for covid-19. Overall the experience was easy! I made the appointment on PetDesk and was immediately given instructions for the current safety protocol. Everyone I interacted with, on the phone, the tech who checked my cat in and took her inside, and the vet were very helpful, cheerful and friendly. Once I got home I had a question about a vaccine and was able to text the clinic to ask and received a timely response! So much better than waiting on hold for a quick inquiry. I am looking forward to getting to see the inside of the hospital next time my pet needs care! Thanks Cabrillo!

I just moved to San Diego and was looking for a vet. My dog had an emergency and I didnt know who else to call, so I called this place. They were wonderful! The vet and the staff were all kind and helpful and my dog got great care. Definitely would recommend.

Just up the street from OBs Dog Beach. Great location for many San Diegans, theyre staffed by a patient and knowledgeable team. We bring our cats and dogs here and have for years.

Great spot, also a hospital, not just a clinic so you may end up with a small wait due to animal emergencies that can offset your appointment. Make sure you arent needing to get off to another appointment when you go. Doctor was very nice.

I want to thank Dr. Ron Cammarata for his examination of Kaylee. I thought it was something to do with her nasal passages either an infection or an allergic reaction. He told me exactly what needed to be done. I was hesitant as she had a similar issue in the past and I was my first time in to see him. As the issue started to escalate rapidly it was good I listened to his opinion. He was 100% correct on the issue and what was the best course of action to be taken. Kaylee is now breathing normal again.

Thank you so much to Dr. Johnson and staff! My poor dog needed some plant awns removed from his mouth and they came to the rescue! I am a veterinarian myself but do not currently practice small animal so I knew the best clinic to get treatment. The facility was awesome, the people were wonderfully kind and efficient, and I received excellent service. Thanks again so much!

I had three pups cared for by Cabrillo for over ten years, all received great care and compassion.

They boarded and fed our dog on short notice and the dog was fluffy and clean. I live in the area so Ill be back!

The staff here is always so nice and patient. We have never had a clinic let us pet or hold our dogs while getting injections which helps calm them down a lot but at Cabrillo they let us hold our pups making it so much easier and calmer! Our first visit with Dr. Cammarata was great. He really took the time to cover all bases and concerns with our pups. They did not try and push any procedures or injections on us but were very informative with all of our options.

Ive never boarded my dog before. Mind you, my dog is not small or demur. Hes a Catahoula Pit; very cute, puppy mentality. Cabrillo was all about we take them on walks and play time; dogs like this arent a problem (very little training). Hell be fine. They took his blanket and treats, met him before taking him in the back. They called to let me know he was doing okay. We came to get him and he was happy. Everything we brought was returned. All in all a very good experience. Sabrina, Ashley and Katie were all really great

Awesome!!!! Everyone on staff here is very kind and treats my cat as if she was their own. Dr Rose is outstanding. Been taking my now 17 year old cat here for over 10 years and would not even consider going elsewhere. If you choose Cabrillo you will not be disappointed.

No appointment, flight to catch and my dog Bud came up with an eye issue on our way to the dog sitter. Cabrillo got us in without an appointment, got him squared away and did it in a timely manner so I could make my flight. They made my day, I wouldn’t have left town without making sure Buds eye was ok. Just one example of quality care my pups get and customer service I receive at Cabrillo. I recommend them every chance I get.

I had switched hospitals after my cat passed years ago because going to his vet at Cabrillo was just too painful. I have never been happy since with my new veterinarian hospital. I decided to go back and I’m so happy I did! What a great experience. The entire staff was patient and kind.

The doctors and staff at Cabrillo were fantastic with my puppy during her first year of check-ups. I got regular reminders about everything I needed to do and making appointments was always easy and convenient.I recently moved abroad and the staff REALLY went out of their way to accommodate urgent and quirky requests. They were always available to certify forms, create forms to comply with unconventional foreign rules, and made the process SO much more pleasant than it would have been if I had tried to figure it all out alone.Definitely recommend!

We moved to the area from Charleston, SC, and finding a great vet was one of our top priorities. Everyone at Cabrillo has been fantastic. Our 12 year old lab even took a tour of the OR when they found a 3+ pound mass in his abdomen. Dr. Rose took great care of him in surgery and he acts like he feels better than he has in a couple years.

Thank you Cabrillo Staff for taking such great care of my animals, who I call my babies. We lost Olive, our special girl after 15 great years of unconditional true love. Dr Rose and Dr Hibser are very kind, knowledgeable and sympathetic to the love and care we want for our kids. The front desk staff is professional and always kind. I felt the Vet Techs are also knowledgeable and I could tell they loved what they do! They always made sure to let me know of any effects any medication or shot may have and I found this to be top notch service, as they showed care and professionalism! I have been going to Cabrillo pet Hospital for 15 years and have brought both my cats and dogs to Dr. Rose. I completely trust his skills as a vet and believe he knows his stuff. Hes not the most warm and fuzzy kind of guy when delivering what might be bad news, but I believe hes honest, knowledgeable and DOES love animals. The office staff and vet techs are very friendly, helpful and good at what they do as well. I love them and have full confidence in their abilities to take great care of our beloved pets. Our cat Diamond was treated very kindly by Doctor C, the vet tech, and front desk staff. They figured out very quickly that our cat had a fever and treated her with fluids and antibiotics

My familys pug suddenly went into convulsions. We didnt know what was happening to her. Luckily we live close to Cabrillo Pet Hospital and we able to rush our pug there. Dr. Johnson was able to get our fur baby stable and diagnosed her with a seizure disorder which can be controlled with the right medication. Our pug has made a full recovery and we are so grateful. We are very satisfied with the service at Cabrillo.

We have been taking our dogs to see Dr. Rose for years now. He is the best Vet weve ever been to. Because of this, when we first decided to start boarding our dogs when we went out of town, we of course, decided Cabrillo Pet Hospital was the place to go! We love all the staff there. They have always been very attentive to our two babies, and we never worry about them when were gone, like we used to. We used to have family come over and feed the dogs, but that meant they were by themselves a lot. Then we used a professional dog sitting company....well, what a disaster that was! If you know anything about Pugs, they love attention, and they have always gotten a lot of it at Cabrillo Pet Hospital. We will be boarding our dog again this Fall, which will be challenging for her, since we lost her companion this past March. However, I know that she will receive the attention and activities she needs while we are gone.

I love this place. Options, options and more options. From vet services with an open heart, great communication and attentiveness to a wonderful facility that boards and gives my pup a place to play at camp for the day…having all three in one spot for me is the BEST! I love the staff, they are so awesome, I recommend them all the time. I have been ripped off by vets in my past, and I dont feel this way at Cabrillo. They dont need to rip off patients/customers to pay the rent, they have a caring, functional business that works just fine. I love that they are excited to see my dog come in for day camp! Its nice to know if anything were to go wrong…the vet is RIGHT there. Its comforting to know that. They are so friendly too, thats a huge plus..to me! Great place, I am so happy and so is my pup!

We have been going to this wonderful veterinary facility for about 20 years. The staff is always friendly, accommodating and helpful. Dr. Rose and Dr. Hibser are very professional, competent and easy to talk to. We have total confidence in the quality of care provided to our pets at Cabrillo Pet Hospital, and couldnt recommend them more highly.

They took great care of my dog during her dental cleaning. I was super nervous about it, but the staff was very helpful in answering my questions and assuring me that she was in good hands. When I picked her up she had her tail wagging as usual and her teeth were beautiful. Great job Cabrillo!

I brought my dog in for an ultrasound for an unidentified GI issue. I could only schedule it on the weekend, and that meant they had to bring in a mobile ultrasound. Here are my complaints and observations:1) I was supposed to, and was told, before paying $550, that I would get the results right away, but instead I have to wait until Monday (today is Saturday). Ridiculous. I was told the Dr. would be able to look at the results and get with me right after the procedure. Didnt happen.2) My dog was brought out to me covered in whatever kind of gel they use for the procedure. It was all over his eyes and coat. Have some (expletive) respect. Its like bringing your car to the shop and having the mechanic leave grease all over your seat.3) I cant see how any dog would sit still for an hour to have this procedure performed, yet they still charge an additional $100 for sedation on top of the $450 they charge for the ultrasound. Seems like a little overkill ? Hopefully you have pet insurance, too.4) No after care instructions; no one asked if I had any questions, actually. No visit from a vet. Guess Im on my own.The cost, while outrageous, is anticipated, but pales in comparison to how my pet is treated, and I guess how Im treated as well. That is how I am rating this experience. I travel all over the country and have been to many vets. I hate when my dog is treated like a commodity and solely as a source of income for the particular practice. I chose this place because I am new to the area, and its close to my house, and truth be told, it had good reviews. I will be looking elsewhere.

Great staff and very friendly. Plus one of the receptionist husband is a master brewer at Ballast Point and that just so happens to be my favorite brewery. Bonus Points!!!

Quickly able to obtain acute appointment, beautiful and clean facility, attentive and throrough support staff. The verterinarian was prompt, inquisitive and knowledgeable, presenting me with diagnostic/treatment options and explaining her thought process. Will definitely return!

I am traveling and forgot my hounds needed vaccinations and an annual checkup before I board them at my next stop. CPH was able to get me in on short notice, were very flexible and understanding of my situation. They also took the time to learn the individual histories of my dogs and adapted their recommendations to their situations - specifically that we are traveling to other parts of the country that have risks different from SoCal.Very highly recommended.

Coming to Cabrillo Pet Hospital has been a positive experience for my 13 year old Lab Maya, and myself. This is the first vet weve been to that she isnt trying to run for the door to get out. She has been receiving acupuncture treatments and has been so calm and happy to receive them. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Thank-you:)

The staff and doctors are the most caring in San Diego County. I have been to may vets, but Cabrillo truly seems to care. They dont over charge, they make time for emergencies. I highly recommend Cabrillo to any pet lover.

Ive brought my boxer and shepherd here for boarding, several times. The staff are always overwhelmingly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Dogs need a clean place where they feel safe and secure, loved, and have their needs met, not some pristine, state of the art, flat screen tv lined resort. Cabrillo Pet Care Center is clean, safe, warm and loving, and I can rest assured that if anything were to happen, theyve got Vets on staff. My dogs get so excited every time we take them there!

Weve been taking our pets to Cabrillo Hospital since we arrived in San Diego a decade ago. Our sister recommended Dr. Rose, base upon the great experience she had with her pet care needs. From the very beginning, the staff has been incredibly caring and professional. We have also recommended Cabrillo Hospital to my friends, always receiving very positive feedback. We have received great service and advice from the knowledgeable staff in the adjacent store as well. Some of our pets have had more specialized diets and the staff there were always very helpful in locating the correct food, etc. The most important thing we wanted to share was how compassionate Dr. Rose and his staff were with us when faced with the loss of some of our oldest pets. They really came through at a time when we had to make some very tough decisions.

They are Awesome!!! They always have taken great care of our girl Jersey!!! I highly recommend them if you’re looking for a great Veterinarian in San Diego!!! I would give them 10 stars if I could!!! :-))

We have been going to Cabrillo Pet Hospital for probably ten years with our dog Clarence who has passed and now we have Frankie and Lulu. We love Dr. Rose and all of his friendly staff. Clarence had issues with other vets in the past, but did really well with Dr. Rose and staff because they took time with him and cared. Our two spazzy dogs now are a handful, but they are always treated with the utmost care and patience. Ive heard that the prices may be a bit higher at Cabrillo, but I wouldnt go anywhere else. It is worth every penny to have the comfort that your family member is in good hands with each and every person that works here.

Weve had nothing but positive experiences with Cabrillo Pet Care. We have two miniature dachshunds who can sometimes be very skittish around new people or new dogs. They are never forwardly aggressive, but they will bark at new people, and they will occasionally roll over and growl or snap in defense if a dog is very forward. When we dropped them off for their temperament test, our dogs were very nervous and almost refused to go into the front door. Within a couple hours, Alex took the time to get to know our dogs one-on-one, and immediately understood their little quirks. Now our dogs love this place like a second home, and they are always bolting through the door when we arrive. The customer service at Cabrillo Pet Care is also part of what keeps us coming back. For one, they are reasonably priced for the area . Also, the owners are very flexible to schedule changes, as long as you are willing to call ahead. My work schedule is somewhat sporadic, and so I often must call them around 9am, hoping to get my dogs in for day care on the same day. I have never been refused.And the last bonus is that their pet hospital is right next door. Very convenient with a family having 2 dogs and a cat!

Dr.Mark Rose came in on his day off before a holiday and operated on my Bengal because she had 4 bad teeth and she was in pain. Now that is a very caring person. I have felt that level of care and service from all the employees at Cabrillo Pet Hospital. Thank you!

Cabrillo Pet Hospital, Dr. Rose and staff is THE BEST !!!!! Dr. Rose has been our vet since 1992 and we credit him and his staff for helping us keep our cats healthy and happy. This is the only place we take our dog! Excellent service, excellent customer care! Appointments are easy to schedule. Accessing patient information online is a neat feature too. Dr. Rose is the best. They additionally offer pet boarding and our dog has never suffered illnesses from his stays at Cabrillo Pet Hospital boarding, unlike other places we have placed him. We feel spoiled by the entire team!! We trust them wholeheartedly and will not go anywhere else...no need to.

Awesome. Caring. and understanding. They actually remember you. I moved out to of Pt Loma and I still make the trip down there to let them take care of my pets. Love them.
