It is a very nice team, they had a bit less people than usual as the Doctor had had an emergency so my appointment had to be rescheduled with her. I will be coming back for another exam, but I went in for a cleaning anyway. Ann, the dental hygienist, was very nice, explained all procedures and walked me through the whole process. I will be coming in again soon.

I was able to get in for TMJ Botox treatment in a matter of two days. The doc and staff were very friendly and professional. As a long term TMJ patient and living overseas, it was a big relief to receive the treatment in such timely fashion. Highly recommended.

Love this place!!! Best experience Ive ever had at a dentist office. Like many people, I dread going to the dentist and am terrified of cleaning my teeth lol but they made it so comfortable!! The staff is very friendly, I felt like I was hanging out with friends. The doctor is amazing, she took the time to explain everything in detail and gave me loads of advice on how to keep my teeth strong and healthy. The dental hygienist was awesome too, she was very gentle with my cleaning and did an excellent job.And best of all, they have a puppy!!!!! I walked in and was greeted by the cutest little pup ever! Her name is Maddy, the doctor adopted her and she hangs out at the office all day. She was so friendly and cute, was such a warm feeling seeing a dog there! I might just stop by and say Hi to them before my next check up!

They were able to work with that change and keep me on as a returning patient by incorporating my insurance, despite the administrative challenges. I came for a laser cold sore treatment and am beyond happy with the treatment and wonderful demeanors of Dr. Tran and her team. Everyone was very professional, and the office was so clean and inviting. She explained everything and my cold sore is 10x better than when I arrived. It is healing faster and I have no pain. Although insurance doesn’t cover this it’s worth it, she is more affordable than others, and you will agree if you ever experience cold sores.

I chipped a tooth and got an appointment within the same week. Staff was friendly and they repaired my tooth in 15 min after evaluating. No pain, no numbing, no complaints.

This was my first visit to a dentist in several years due to anxiety and fear. I want to thank Mandy for being so caring and gentle on my visit during my cleaning and initial exam. She was able to perform a cleaning and keep my anxiety at a minimal. The facility was very clean and up to date with current equipment and each person from the front desk to the dentist was extremely polite, knowledgeable, and willing to understand my fears and help me get past them. I was provided a step by step plan outlining my procedures needed and provided an in-depth break down financially at what I would be owing. I can’t speak highly enough of each one of the staff here and the confidence I have in them to help me. Visited Dental Design SD today to get treatment (Botox jaw injections) for my TMJ pain and dizziness that Ive dealt with for a decade plus. Finally went in because I was tired of the pain and Dr. Agatep reassured me that there was help available. The office staff was super friendly and checked me in quickly. The office itself is beautiful and modern so that is a plus. You can tell they want to be at the forefront of health/dental care. The ct scanner was pretty cool. It was a relief to clearly see what was wrong with my jaw. The dental assistants were attentive and friendly. Dr. Agatep made sure to tell me everything she was going to do and why. I learned so much today! The treatment was quick and not as scary as I expected. It was a really positive experience. Im super hopeful I will feel better soon.

The staff and doctors at Dental Design SD are unparalleled. I haven’t had the best history with dentists, so I avoided them longer than I should have. I ended up selecting this practice because my insurance covers them and they’re close to my work, but honestly I’d still go to them if I had to drive hours and pay out of pocket. They’re polite, kind, thorough and informative. Hands down, the best dental practice I have ever visited. 13/10 would recommend!

Very friendly staff. It’s an efficient operation with skilled dentists and hygienists. Also staff is sensitive to those who are anxious and/or need a little extra pain management for procedures. They really helped me through that part. Finally, their billing folks are really good at working with insurance companies which makes that part painless. I highly recommend them!

Ive been going to Dr. Agatep and her team for ~5yrs, and theyve consistently provided enjoyable and accommodating experiences. Her awesome hygienists (highlighting Anh and Mandy) make dental appointments very comfortable, and they always provide clear explanations on what they are doing and why so that the patient is informed and never left in the unknown. Further, theyre a small and local business - highly recommend to check them out!

First time here since I moved to Mira Mesa. Dr Mimi Tran, went over each individual teeth and their potential issues. It was helpful to determimed if we need to go forward with procedures to fix the problem.

I had the best experience at Dental Design. All the stuff was very friendly and welcoming. Their Covid precautions made me feel incredibly safe and at ease. I drove 2 hours to go here after a friend had recommended seeing Dr. Agatep and I would do it again. I had some fillings done, did not feel the needle at all and learned that I have been grinding my teeth in my sleep and how to prevent further damage. Very knowledgeable team here. 10/10 would recommend!

I have had TMJ Botox done here now twice and had very good experiences both times! Everyone I have interacted with is great. Botox is $15/unit and she recommends between 20-35 units per side.

I did so much research before choosing Dr. Agatep. Like MONTHS of research. And I am so glad I chose to go see her because I’ve finally found a medical professional who understands exactly what I’m talking about. My teeth have been severely damaged from a variety of eating disorders and it’s made my bite horrible and my face asymmetrical. I’ve had plastic surgeons pointing to my X-rays for something else and telling me that I was born this way (no, I was not!!) and that the only way to fix my asymmetry is to shave off the bone on one side of my jaw... I’ve had dentists and orthodontists half heartedly give me a “maybe” or “probably” to me when I told them about how I feel like one side of my teeth are shorter and that the asymmetry is not related to facial bone development issues . It was such a relief to find someone who could confidently confirm everything I was suspecting was wrong with my teeth + jaw without me having to tell her much at all. I love the kind and friendly staff here and I highly recommend Dr. Agatep for tmj & teeth restoration because she is an extremely precise, knowledgable, and patient doctor.

I came to Dr. Agatap with a lot of pain in the jaw, face, and teeth (that other dentists didnt know how to address or werent willing to take the time to address), and since starting the recommended treatment, I have had a very significant reduction in pain! Dr. Agatap and her staff are kind, open, and honest; they spent a lot of time answering my initial questions about treatment options and letting me know that Im not alone in dealing with this painful condition. I had to write this review because Dental Design SD has actually changed my perspective on going to the dentist, which I previously use to hate doing. I really enjoy going to the dentist now because I feel like I leave with a much cleaner mouth and ZERO SORENESS, not sure what’s different about what they do but it’s awesome. They also give personalized advice on oral care and this has been an absolute game changer for me. Rather than pushing so many products and services on me, they simply listen to my concerns and give honest answers to my questions (which is how I ended up with the best toothbrush ever and significantly healthier gums). The staff is great all around - very informative, thorough, flexible and super friendly. They also use a text messaging system which is another absolute game changer. I can text them to either make an appointment or even just ask a quick question about my oral care routine. I cannot day enough great things about this dental office. Dr. Agatep’s treatment plan for TMJ has been such a great investment. Only two adjustments in my jaw rarely click or pops and most of my TMJ symptoms (headache, ear pain, clicking/popping, etc) have all but disappeared. I was skeptical to try this at first but I’m so glad I took a chance in Dr. Agatep and her wonderful team!

I am so glad I went to Dental Design. I saw Dr. Mimi Tran for a night-guard. She was gentle and thorough in letting me know what to expect. I like how new the office is. Everything feels cool and relaxing. There is even a lovely lemongrass fragrance in the air. My last dentist office was cozier but this is a nice change. The main thing I love about this office is the location, which is very convenient. There are other practices around but this was the only one that accepted my insurance. I haven’t had too much work done here but the cleanings and fillings were well done. I will stay here a while.

After struggling to get a proper diagnosis and treatment for my TMJ for around 3 years, I finally decided to book an appointment out of network and proceed with Dental Design SD. Within one hour we had a full diagnosis and scans of the affected regions, which previous physicians were unable to do for me. Within the next hour I was walking out the door with an appliance to help with my condition and confidence in the team that helped me. I am certain I will be proceeding with them after my professional experience. Totally recommend.

I trusted them immediately. I was able to get a CT scan on the spot so no waiting for the results. I have been to several prominent dentists in the San Diego area. A few had retired and others had changed what insurance they accept. I was looking for a new dentist when i was referred here. My first impression was how bright and clean the office was. I was greeted by friendly front office staff. I checked in and watched for a few minutes how they worked and interacted with each other and patients. They worked synergistically with enthusiasm and enjoyed what they do. My initial visit was by far the most thorough screening i have ever had! Both Dr. Agatep and Dr. Tran were just the best! Their knowledge, their willingness to answer questions and the tools! The whole team was fabulous. If i had to sum it up succintly i would say they are a dentist office that are grounded in solid dentistry who use some of the latest tools to ensure the best oral health of their patients. I highly recommend them!

Over the years Ive been to 7 other dentists, but Dr.A is the best. She explained problem areas using snapshots and x-rays taken during my exam. She gave me treatment options to consider and answered all my questions. You can tell she is dedicated to her work. I had two crowns and gum surgery for receding gums(pin hole surgery). The amount of pain was so minimal I was amazed. She uses the latest techniques, has nice office digs with state of the art equipment, and her staff is friendly, intelligent and professional. She also has a dental savings plan that helps out when you dont have dental insurance. Go see Dr. Agatep if you want good work done in a pleasant atmosphere with little to no discomfort.

They couldn’t have done a better job in an effort to be safe during the pandemic, but they honestly always go above and beyond for patient comfort and safety.

I can’t tell you guys how grateful I am. Today I got my molar tooth extracted. They are very professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable people. It was so quick. Words can’t describe how awesome my experience was. I am so grateful they accepted me in this covid-19 lockdown. I will be visiting them soon. Definitely recommend it!

Update 07/21. I just got 2 veneers done here that totally transformed my smile. They dont advertise cosmetic dentistry but they do it and they do it well. Once again the whole procedure was painless. (note other cosmetic dentists had suggested I get 6 crowns to get the smile I wanted).Original review.Ive been going to this dentist for 7 years . They always give tremendous service .Ive had fillings, crowns and wisdom teeth extracted and never had any pain or discomfort. They will recommend treatments to you but theyre not pushy / forcefully trying to get sales. I had an old root canal get infected and they managed to see me the same day .

Dr. Agatep is family at this point. I have been going to her for 10 years and will ONLY trust her with my smile. Her team is so funny, full of life, and they do everything they can to make sure you have a positive experience. I am terrified of the Dentist--like...I need Valium and gas type of terrified-- and they never make me feel uncomfortable. I usually fall asleep in the chair (probably because I am high off life). :)Additionally, she is invested in you, your family, and health overall. 10000% recommend her to everyone.

Dr. Agatep has been my dentist for the last seven years or so. I have been very happy at Dental Design, after spending years unhappily bouncing around town trying to find a good dentist office. The things I like the most are the hygienists (they have always been very thorough and are not just going through the motions) and Dr. Agatep and her work. She recently repaired a chip in one of my front teeth and took care to make it look great - not even I can tell where my tooth ends and the filling begins. In fact, I have always thought she was very skilled. She has also always been pleasant and upbeat, as have everyone else in her office. They have a good system for managing patients and appointments and they have good communication between people in various roles in the practice. Great dentist, great dental office.

Third doctor I tried and first one to help me out. Still in the process of being treated, but so far so good. Very friendly staff, knowledgeable and personal care. Highly recommend you at least pay them a visit if youre having any difficulties with TMD and need some professional assistance.

I have had much bad experience with medical providers and have never written a review for I understand anyone can have a bad day, yet I am compelled to give this review for the way this provider runs the business is not only unethical but illegal - Attempt to withhold medical records from patients. I also feel obligated to warn the viewers so as to avoid potential abuse to other patients.I received a consultation for TMJ at the office on July 15 2020, after the consultation I was presented with treatment plans, which included many items one of which is a CT scan with a cost of $150. The staff explained to me that it is a discounted price for their TMJ patients. I asked if I can just have the scan at this price and decide later if I want to have other treatments, the response was absolutely. The CT was done, and upon leaving I asked one of the staff to give me a record of the CT images, she replied she will consult the doctor and get back to me. Next day I called to follow up. The response was that they cannot release the images to me because the price was discounted, if I would like to have all the images to show to another doctor for example, then I will have to pay their original price which is $350. In short, $200 was required to receive my CT records. I was shocked. I used to work in the medical field, and at once realized that this is a blatant violation to HIPPA regulation as well as California State Law. Access to their medical records is a legal right to all patients, and is not at all conditional upon the price of the service.I wrote an email to the practice warning their policy is illegal. Realizing I know my rights, they were smart enough to change their mind . Eventually the record was released to me. However I think I must warn others who may be abused by this unethical practice. Therefore I am writing this lengthy review. Also, hopefully because this review is now on the internet, they will stop this unethical and illegal practice.

Friendly Staff! Went back to do my quarterly cleaning Anh Do-professional. They took your temperature, had you answered all the questions for symptoms relating to Covid-19 and gave you hydroxide rinse. They have the external aerosol suction machine Close by your mouth. Safety first I suppose. I do recommend this dental office and Anh Do for cleaning service.

I had an issue with my jaw clicking, she knew exactly the cause and put together a treatment plan that was painless and improved it quickly.Our younger daughter is also a patient, and the staff take care to make her feel comfortable and not afraid of going to the dentist.

Just had my dental cleaning appointment this week with Anh--- she is the best hygienist! I have my teeth cleaned three times per year now and my teeth and gums have never been better. She is very thorough and and my teeth feel very good after a cleaning. I appreciate her expertise and positive attitude in keeping me on top of my oral hygiene. The office and staff take every precaution during these Covid -19 times.

What a refresh! Finally got all that quarantine yuck cleaned today with Ahn. An amazing hygienist in fact. What amazed me at todays visit was how above and beyond dental design SD goes to keep their patients safe during this time. They had this equipment that is being used in every procedure which hoovers over the patient while getting work done and vacuums all the aerosol in the air. Talk about dental office 2.0 ! Also impressed with the new PPE being used by the providers. To top it all off I snuck a quick snoozer during my cleaning because Ahn is that good lol! Thank you guys again !
