Ellie’s had always bern my go to for mending, tailoring etc. No more. Their inconsistent store hours, incorrect information provided over the phone and frustration with their Covid policy’s, I am done.

Friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. Ellie has ideas and suggestions to consider to make a dress, jacket, blouse or skirt look and work better for me. I first went there when another tailor said they couldn’t work on a certain special occasion dress for me. I went to Ellie and she had no problem plus she made suggestions I wouldn’t have even thought of to make the dress fit and flow even better. I was impressed and so happy I found her! I highly recommend her to family and friends!

I would have given them 5 stars, but this was a wedding dress alteration. My first fitting was great, but when I went to try it on, they had way too many people in the store and they wouldnt help me get into my dress or help me get it off! I was sweaty and very aggrevated!

I had an invisible zipper replaced on a very nice cocktail dress. I looked at the zipper when I picked it up from Ellie’s Tailor’s Shop. The zipper was uneven In the back at the neckline. There was only one hook at the top now. Unfortunately I had already paid. I left the dress there in hopes that it would be better when I returned. I asked the gentleman who helped me if they had a final look by a supervisor on the garments that were finished. He informed me that they do not do that.

So happy, I know I can count on them every time. Note: recent changes suggest you try your clothes on that have been altered before leaving. Although I had never done this before I find out the hard way. So do yourself a favor and try on the altered garmet before leaving. As busy as they seem, the turn around time is actually quite quick. Highly recommend!

I took in a pair of jean to get hemmed and a pair of pants to have a belt loop reattached. $26!! (Not $10 as advertised). Dropped them off on a Monday and they asked me to wait until Saturday. (Not 10 minutes as advertised).When I went to pick them up the color of the thread did not match the rest of the pants.AndMy card didnt read. Had to get cash and come back.

Very good work and reasonable return times for all my Italian suits. Ellie is worth waiting for if you are picky. Price is fair, better than La Jolla but not as cheap as some places.. They do classic European style work, better than some places Ive been to, ie. Lining for pant hem to prevent chaffing on shoes etc. Have slimmest pant legs, taken in side vent suit jackets, etc. Worth it if you have good suits.

I have been going here for 17 years, and wheni moved away, I had such a bad experience with another tailor, that I now drive an hour each way to bring my stuff to Ellies. The customer service is out of this world, and Ellie and her staff do exceptional work. I will not go anywhere else.

I took my brand new $200 jeans in to get hemmed. Even though the gentleman insisted on me trying them on for him to measure, they came out way too short. For $10 in 10 minutes, I guess you get what you pay for. Virtually unwearable.
