This experience is amazing !2:30h on a catamaran appreciating the San Diego sunset, seeing sea lions is just the best feeling.The captain really professional is just the guy that you want to be your best friend. He impulses the best ambiance to chill on the boat. You feel safe, comfortable. Private and romantic take time to lay down in front of the catamaran with a drink you won’t regret it. Last but not least the price regarding the quality is out of this world. 5 stars and thank you captain !

Had a great sail of the bay and out past the Coronado bridge. Captain Rod let me drive the boat for most of the cruise which was great. The sun didnt cooperate however so not much of a sunset.

Went to San Diego from SC for a work conference. My coworkers and I went on the Catamaran and the captain was so sweet, fun jokes and insightful. He had drinks and food, gave us warnings about how to move around the catamaran and knew so much about the bay. It was so relaxing and I loved watching the Sea Lions! Highly recommended!

Our ride on the Osprey with Captain was great. We really enjoyed talking with Captain and the crew. It was rather cold in the bay during our cruise, but they offered blankets and jackets for us to stay warm. They were friendly and helpful, and were very flexible with our needs. Will definitely recommend to everyone!

Awesome whale watching experience! So glad to have found Rod and his beautiful catamaran. This trip was quite a treat, and even though the seas were a bit rough, the sailing was very smooth and enjoyable. After an hour of relaxing and basking in the sun on the front of his sailboat, we saw a pod of whales, dolphins and sea lions! To tell you the truth, the sailing was so enjoyable I forgot that we originally were there to go whale watching. Thanks FunCat Sailing Adventures and Captain Rod!

This is an AWESOME sailing adventure! Seven of us (2 adults and 5 teens) sailed on the Wind Drum Catamaran with Captain Rod. Booking the sail was very easy and Captain Rod was very informative by giving us all the details we would need and letting us know exactly what to expect. He supplied drinks and snacks, including fresh fruit!! We loved every minute of seeing the sights, getting up close and personal with the seals, and just relaxing on the beautiful water! I highly recommend booking a Catamaran cruise with Captain Rod!

Fantastic catamaran and Captain. Very comfortable. The sailing was great, done smoothly despite whitecaps.The whale watching was disappointing tho as we only saw one juvenile.I wouldnt recommend it for whale watching but definitely for a calm sail.

Great time on a Sunday outing. If you want one last inexpensive adventure before returning to the “rat race”, may I suggest Fun Cat Sailing tours; you will not be disappointed! Great time, great sail, great views!

Randy was an amazing tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and provided us with great information and interesting facts. He was very hospitable and provided drinks and yummy snacks. I would highly recommend if anyone is looking for a fun activity, date, or has out of town visitors who would like to learn a little about San Diego. Will definitely be booking another tour again soon.

I have been out with Fun Cat at least a half a dozen times, and on each of the two boats. I have just lagged in writing a review!I have found Captain Rod and his team to be warm, friendly, personable, and eager to provide customers with a fantastic time while in their charge. Being a repeat customer, they always make sure my favorite beverages and snacks are on board when i go out with them (I love the personal touches!)I cannot recommend them highly enough. There is a reason I keep coming back!

We had an amazing day sailing with Captain Rod and his first mate, Sunny. Rod was an amazing host and was very patient with my 2 and 4 year old nieces. He got out the kayaks and we were able to get up close and personal with the sealions - the little ones LOVED it. If you like being on the water, you will love this experience.

I booked an afternoon catamaran sail with Captain Rod and Randy for a bachelorette party, and I am so glad I did! We sailed around the bay, saw the sea lions and enjoyed the beautiful scenery! They were extremely accommodating and were happy to take the 100s of pictures we requested. Thanks for a great trip!

We took the afternoon sail We picked an absolutely perfect day. The wind was a bit slow but strong enough we made it out to the ocean. Captain was good and had plenty of snacks and beverages aboard. A great way to kill an afternoon.

I contacted Rod for a bachelorette party and he did not disappoint! We had such a great time on his wind drum catamaran. He was so accommodating from the get-go. He had drinks, snacks and made sure we were having a great time throughout the whole trip. I would definitely use Rod and Fun Cat sailing again and would reccomend him to anyone who enjoys going out on the water. Thanks again captain Rod!!

My husband and I went out for a sunset sail this past weekend with Captain Brian, on the Tigress. It was a very peaceful, relaxing tour, with only six passengers. Brian had bought fresh fruit that morning, which was very good. However, I had been told by Rod that there would be beer, wine, and champagne on the boat. According to Brian, there was only champagne and beer, Bud Light and Light Coors, at that. You call that beer?? Anyhow, I wouldve picked up a bottle of wine had I known there would be none.Sailing out the harbor, I was waiting for Brian to start telling us some things about San Diego, as I had heard that Ron, I guess especially likes to educate people. We soon discovered that Brian is very quiet, and will answer questions if asked. He did tell us quite a bit about the Atessa IV, the huge yacht in the middle of the harbor. Seeing the sea lions and sea gulls, cormorants, and other birds was the highlight. Although the sunset turned out to not be great, we did enjoy Brian allowing us a lot of of time seeing the evening lights going on in the city, as well as some lights on the aircraft carriers and bridges.All in all, pleasant, peaceful, not highly educational...my one real disappointment. And we would recommend offering better beer...some local microbrews, perhaps?

Went out this week with Captain Kevin. Had the best time. We had been on other sailing charters before but this one was the best. He took us to all the great spots on the water. We are going to book anther charter next time we are in town!

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary on a Fun Cat private sailing adventure around San Diego Harbor and out past Point Loma. Although I am a waterman, my wife is not; she cant swim and is afraid of the water. But the skipper was a real confidence builder, the catamaran is so stable, the salon so comfortable, and with a fruit plate, crackers and cold drinks to enjoy, she and I were perfectly content to sit back together and just watch a beautiful afternoon sail by. The smiles on my wifes face spoke volumes for this sailing adventure.

We had a great time sailing with Captain Rod and his puppy Sunny. We even spotted some dolphins near Point Loma. He had plenty of drinks for the group, and some fruit and other snacks too. Plenty of sun and shade to enjoy the lovely San Diego harbor.

BEST way to see San Diego! Gorgeous views! Saw lots of whales and dolphins. Boat is very comfortable and safe. Captain Rod is a lot of fun. Cant wait to do it again!

My entire family, from my 84 year old grandmom to my 17 year old cousin had a BLAST on Rods catamaran. He was very enjoyable to sail with and showed us all a good time by making sure we felt comfortable and safe. He had us kayak with the sea lions and provided us with drinks and snacks. He was easy to talk to and laid back the whole 3 hour cruise. It was the last thing we did in San Diego before our trip home to New Jersey and it was the perfect way to end our vacation. My brother and cousins and I really enjoyed having a beer on the trampoline and my mom and grandmother enjoyed their wine and grapes at the table inside. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the romantic view and spending it with our family and Rod was a great experience. This trip would be perfect for a family with small children, a group of adults looking for relaxation and a short getaway, a bachelorette/bachelor party, a private romantic cruise with your significant other, or just a group of friends looking for something new to do. This will not disappoint! I PROMISE!

My daughter and I went on a charter with Rod.He was hospitable and very good with kids and made us feel very comfortable.The kayaks were a bonus and we were able to see the sea lions up close.We will be back next year !!! Thank you Rod.

Spent over an hour just getting out of harbor (on a 3 1/2 hour tour)- Didnt realise it would only be a harbor tour. We never even saw a dolphin up close - One short mile out and then turned around - Captain didnt seem to care - he had to be home by 5
