Murray Lampert Design, Build, Remodel is always a pleasure working with Murray Lampert Design, Build, Remodel was extremely professional and knowledgeable. They really go the extra mile to make sure their customer is taken care of. She took his time to understand our renovation needs and offered a detailed and fair estimate. Especially thank you for really helping out with all the paperwork and making life easier!
Innovative, Experts in Construction, and Trustworthy… These are just a few of the Outstanding attributes of the Murray Lampert Design, Build and Remodel Constructors. From our experience, the search and selection process to find a diligent remodel firm could be described as ‘Drinking from a Fire Hose’, however; not only was selecting Murry Lampert the right choice, it is the only choice. The Design was leading edge, the Cost Estimate was fair & accurate and the Workmanship of their construction trade partners was excellent. Murray’s Lambert’s whole team approach is the key to their successes. From Greg Cantor, CEO and President, to the assigned experienced Project Manager each member of the Murray Lampert Team is proactive in the Design/Build remodeling. Our remodel was accomplished three ago and we have experienced no major problem. We have had one post remodel issue with a Pocket Door not sliding properly. The discrepancy was corrected immediately and no other problems have been encountered.Bottom Line is Murray Lampert is a #1 Design, Build and Remodel Company!
From our first discussion, the team at Murray Lampert was invested in a successful remodel for our kitchen. From Gregg, to Rachael, to the team that did the whole house measurements, everyone was friendly, punctual, efficient and focused on getting milestones met. My husband and I felt very comfortable sharing our vision and the ML team brought our design to life using advanced computer models. Rachael and Patty made sure we were happy with all the details. I truly appreciated the care and consideration our remodel was given. I strongly recommend Murray Lampert as a San Diego local with a great reputation and a passion for their work to our community.
Murray Lampert just finished designing and building an ADU on my property and I could not be happier. We interviewed a few companies before selecting Murray Lampert and I know we made the right decision.Rachel Cantor came up with a wonderful design for the ADU, which also incorporated a separate laundry room that can be used by both houses. Next, we worked with Nicole Lacroix on the interior design. Nicole really listened to what we wanted and came up the perfect options. Our construction manager was Matthew Clark and he did a great job managing each stage of the construction project and making sure the work was done right and on time. He is very hands on and stopped by daily to check on the construction crew and the progress.Overall the whole team made the process quite easy as they handled everything from the design, to obtaining the permits, to the demolition and construction, to final inspection.I had never done a major renovation project before and was concerned as I have heard many horror stories about cost overruns and delays. However, I am happy to report that the project came in not only on budget but on time!
I met with three different Design/Build companies and went with Murray Lampert because of their amazing team! I was impressed from the very first consultation meeting. Everyone in their company really loves what they do and most importantly, they take extra steps in making sure the customers ideas and concerns are heard loud and clear. My remodel was a big project, going from an older single level beach cottage, to a two story modern home. It was a fun process working with their architect designer Rachel Cantor, then moving on to their Interior designer, Rachel Bancroft. They both listened to my wild ideas and offered a lot of cool design concepts. It was a partnership for sure.Tying the whole project together was their project manager, Cameron Poeschel. If I could clone him, I would and have him work for me in the film industry. You can tell Cameron loves every aspect of the construction business, and loves what he does. He kept the remodel on schedule, and was always checking in by phone, text and on the site constantly. A total detail oriented manager! What I really liked about Murray Lampert is all their construction crew works so well together and respects each other. If someone in the plumbing dept. sees an issue in a different dept., they bring it up and deal with it. They all work cohesively as a true team does.I will always be so thankful I got to work with Murray Lampert. They built my dream home, my forever home. The owner, Gregg Cantor, was also an integral part of the remodel. He was always available if I needed to ask questions along the way, and was on site many times. Ive been living in my new home for several months now and love every single part of it. I would hire them again in a second!
We wholeheartedly recommend Murray Lampert Design-Build-Remodel for any home remodeling needs. We bought our home 18 years ago and just made minor improvements since then, putting off til a later day all the things we wanted to do to make it more livable. Life with two active kids took over and delayed any renovation plans. Now, being empty nesters, the time finally arrived for us to take the big step and do what weve been dreaming of for years: remodel most of our house (including removing walls), going open-concept with a great new kitchen, moving a bathroom, a complete plumbing overhaul, and more.We started our conversation with Murray Lampert knowing theyd done beautiful work in the neighborhood for several friends, and knowing how much they valued their work and relationship with the Cantor family, owners of Murray Lampert. My husband and I met with Rachel Cantor, their Director of Design, and explained what we were hoping to achieve. She returned shortly with a realistic estimate that helped guide our conversation further. Doing our due diligence, we interviewed other construction companies but always came back to Murray Lampert. The detailed information we received, the warmth we felt from the Cantor family, their commitment to our satisfaction (and budget), countless recommendations from friends, their stellar reputation in the design community, combined with the reasonable price, sold us. From the beginning, we knew we were in good hands. Gregg Cantor provided great oversight of his team, always checking in and staying on top of what was happening with our project. The entire team took ownership of our happiness and care of our home and family. They took on managing an overwhelming process and schedule, leading us step by step and keeping us on target. Another Rachel (Bancroft) was our ML designer and she was amazing, providing terrific insight and putting up with constant questions and several changes. The 3D modeling was a fantastic tool, helping clarify the vision and projected outcome. Budget was important to us and the ML team kept us on target, with Lisa Cantor keeping the finances straight. Daily updates on the construction from Don our project manager kept us looped into what was happening. Communication is critical to any big project, and everyone on the ML team was an expert - responding promptly to any questions and keeping us constantly informed. Our beautiful project was finished on time and on budget. In the end, were so incredibly happy with our remodel! We feel like we live in a brand new home...modern, bright, and completely in line with all our dreams. And weve made some great new connections with the Murray Lampert family - we know who were calling if we start having any new ideas!
I was very hesitant when my wife asked me about a kitchen remodel. I got referrals from friends and neighbors, then called a couple companies I saw advertising the best deals. Murray Lampert was NOT the best price, but was, by far, the best VALUE!! Reputable, honest and reliable. Few businesses these days do what they say and stand by their word. Murray Lampert is a throwback company that prides itself on customer satisfaction and doing business the right way. I highly recommend them for any home improvement project!!
We worked with Rachel Cantor and Cameron Poeschel of Murray Lampert to remodel a 1,200 square foot house built in 1942 located in Loma Portal. Both Rachel and Cameron were very knowledgeable and very professional. There were several on-site meetings to determine what would need to be accomplished in order to add a second level to the house with a deck that would provide an ocean view. Multiple design meetings were then held in the Murray Lampert conference room where different design ideas were presented and discussed. Rachel expertly used a three-dimensional computer aided program to present the various remodel designs and was able to modify in real-time new designs based upon the discussion at hand. While all this is really neat, I felt the honest presentation of what all was involved in the proposed design was most valuable to me. This included what the various steps were, how long the project would take, what may have to change based on the City of San Diego review of the remodel plans, what could be changed to reduce the overall expense, and what the payment schedule would be. In addition to the professionalism of Rachel and Cameron, it should be noted there was no pressure to hurry up the design process. Working with Rachel Cantor, Cameron Poeschel, and Murray Lampert was great and I would recommend them to anyone planning a remodel.
Can not say enough about our Murray Lampert experience. We had a very tight time frame and strict budget. Murray Lampert made both a priority. They finished on time, on budget and everything looks wonderful. The staff and construction workers were all friendly, communicative, and professional. Will use them again if we have any additional remodeling needs.
I hired Murray Lampert to do a major remodel of our home in 2008. Given our home was built in 1932, it was a very difficult and ML did a great job in rolling with the punches that the old house continually threw at them.Fast forward to today, we discovered some in-wall damage that had been caused by the way the roof was finished during the remodel. Although the job was well out of MLs warranty period, they stepped up and split the cost of the repairs with us.If dealing with a contractor that is reputable and willing to stand by their work is important to you, then you should consider Murray Lampert.
We were devastated to discover that our home of 30+ years had an unpermitted garage conversion with no Statute of Limitations with the County of San Diego and we wanted to remove the permitted, but structurally failing built-in patio to add a three car garage, workshop, office, swing door pantry, craft room with laundry and a patio, half under roof. Following a search and discussion with several contractors, we decided upon Murray Lampert to address the illegal conversion, demolition and construction of our forever home. Checking references and historical work by Murray Lampert, we contacted Greg Cantor to discuss our needs. We hired one of the best design build firms dedicated to solve problems and build a quality project with minimum issues, thorough communication, flexibility to address latent conditions and changes keeping within a budget and delivering on time. We recommend Greg and his team to give you peace of mind and deliver an incredible product! Amazing professionals looking out for your welfare, minimizing your risk and bringing home your project with little drama! We recommend Murray Lampert without reservation!
We recently completed a project with Murray Lampert. Two load bearing walls were removed to make way for an open concept first floor and the kitchen was relocated to the opposite side of our home. From the start we were impressed with the integrity & professionalism of each of the ML team members we worked with. We were invited to their office to meet everyone and spent a good amount of time with Gregg Cantor, who walked us through the “ML way”. Gregg remained accessible and engaged throughout the project and spoke with pride about the long family history of their company and their effort to grow happy clients. Rachel and Hope were fantastic with their architecture and design. They were honest with their ideas yet mindful of our personal taste and vision and gave us just the right amount of nudging when they felt we may be getting off track with our choices. Our project manager, Patti was amazing and was the one who lived in the trenches with us. She was at our home every day, coordinating, checking, watching, planning and above all – communicating. She is a dynamo; positive, trustworthy, mindful and packed full of knowledge. She has a great relationship with the sub’s and trades-people who also, were kind, professional and just so easy to be around. We quickly got a feel for the appreciation and respect the trades-people have for the ML team and vice-versa and this spoke volumes about the industry reputation of Murray Lampert. There was a consistent and high level of communication from start to finish & we were never left to wonder where we were with the project or what was coming next. We received weekly updates; people were here when they were supposed to be; everyone knew what the other was doing; the house was left clean and well cared for each day. At no time were we upsold and in fact they proactively looked for ways to save money where we could. When considering this project, we knew the design build concept was for us and we were right to go this route. We were continually amazed to see the level of detail & coordination that goes into a project like this. There is no way we could’ve managed contractors and subs on our own, both from a knowledge & time perspective. There were what seemed like a million details, all perfectly managed by our group. The bid for the job was an accurate depiction of the cost and there was no low-balling upfront, only be surprised with additional costs and expenses throughout the project. Our experience was exactly the opposite – the price was the price. In our opinion, they provide the best value & overall experience. Our project went smoothly and stayed right on track. It was completed just before their projection. Our neighbors frequently commented on the pace and quality at which our project was progressing. Having heard many, many horror stories of remodels, we were certainly prepared for the worst. We were quite nervous at the size and scope of this undertaking (gigantic for us, though not uncommon for them) but truly, there were no “OMG” moments. We love our beautiful new home and it is exactly what we envisioned when we set out on this journey months before the first hammer was thrown. We were treated fairly, had a wonderful experience and have no regrets or reservations about the company we chose. These guys are pros. Thank you ML!
