Great place for a haircut experience! Ya, you get an awesome haircut (probably my best cuts in a long time), but the experience of what sets this place apart.Walk into a really cool space with old school hip-hop playing at a good volume (not too loud, but you can dig into it). Grab a beer and chill out while you wait.After that its haircutting, hot towels, neck massages, scalp massages, hot stone neck massage more hot towels.They trimmed my eyebrows, ear hair (where did that come from???), and a straight blade neck shave.Like i said ... an experience. It does cost a bit more, but my wife said she wished she got half that much service for twice the price.Definitely worth it.

I am a man. I am also a man with long hair. Im also a man with long hair that is tired of going to mens haircut places and having them have no idea what to do with long hair. If you go to female salons you can expect to pay an arm and a leg and often they dont take into consideration what looks good on long hair on a man. This is not the case with tailored hair. I found them by specifically searching for mens salon long hair and the reviews were incredible so I decided to give them a chance. Its a mens salon run by all women. If anyone would know what hairstyle would look good on a man, its a woman. Every time I am here I feel really welcomed and Im always pleased with my haircut when I leave. Thats not something I experience very often. It is taken nearly 40 years but I have finally found a place to get my haircut where Im happy with the results and more than happy to return. Tailored hair has one me over.

The atmosphere at Tailored Hair is excellent. Pretty spacious and calm.The attention to detail Claudianne gave me was excellent. She was gentle while cutting my hair. My cut never felt rushed compared to other places.Cons: If you are on a budget, this is not the place you want to come. And parking MAY be difficult to find.

Tailored Hair is pretty much the best you will find for a mens haircut in San Diego. They really take their time cutting / washing your hair and make the experience very enjoyable.

Scheduled an appointment and showed up. Immediately greeted and asked if I was checking in. Instantly offered a beer or water. Fast forward to the haircut, the verbiage you get what you pay for is exactly how this place operates. Its certainly not the cheapest haircut but the stylists put their heart and effort into your hair. I think my cut with Melissa took about 45 minutes (shampoo and scalp massage included) for a simple high fade and I enjoyed every second of it. Definitely will be back in the future. We had a a guest (from out hotel) who was pretty particular and had high expectations. Talilored Hair not only took them as a last minute request, but they Impressed this guest so much that he stopped by the Front Desk to tell us we should send any men who what a high end hair cut and style. He was also really impressed that he got the salon experience and not just a 10 min cut and style. Their service quality in overall service care made us look amazing as well. This was and excellent place to get your hair done. Definitely worth the money. Ice had high end haircuts in manhattan that were not as nice as this was and charged around the same price. Definitely a luxury haircut.

Had an absolutely awesome haircut experience with Frazer. Walked in, offered a beer or water (they stock 10Barrels beer from down the street, so that was a win), and had a good five-minute conversation or so with Frazer about the cut I wanted and different ways we could try it.Started with a shampoo/scalp massage, hot towel for the eyes (rest of the face covered with a mask, of course) and then a brilliant haircut with Frazer, who is a delightful human being and conversationalist.Cant wait for next time!

Great service and very competent stylists. The downside is that they are promoted w/o any additional benefit to the client (e.g. new certification, training, etc.) and you have to take a 20% price increase. Its actually done to manage stylist demand which is good for the owner at the expense of clients.Nov 2020 Update - I spoke with the owner and was pleasantly surprised at the care and attention given to my feedback. Changed from 3 to 5 stars to reflect this.

Riley did an amazing job! Its the best hair cut Ive ever had.When I arrived, they were friendly and offered me and my wife a complimentary beer and some cookies. I told Riley that I hadnt had my hair cut in about 4 months, and wasnt quite sure what I wanted to do with it. She talked through some options and made sure that I was going to get the cut that I wanted, and then she went to work. The cut looks awesome! and she was so nice the whole time. The cut included a scalp massage, shampoo, hot towel around my beard, and a straight razor shave on my neck, all for a very reasonable price.They said they wanted to create a salon-style experience that women usually receive, but tailor it for a male audience, and they did a fantastic job. Ill absolutely be going back here for haircuts.

I was in San Diego on vacation last week and decided to book an appointment with Riley to get my haircut. When I arrived, everyone was really friendly, welcoming me with a drink, but not just any drink. They offered me a glass from their selection of whiskey. What?!!? That was awesome! I then sat at the bar in their kitchen and had a fresh out of the oven homemade cookie. This was by far the most unique and perfect haircut experience Ive ever had. Riley did an amazing job on my haircut as well! Next time I go to San Diego, I will be back here for sure.

Great!I have been coming here for a while now and get my haircut by Riley every time; Consistent, great, results. All equipment is kept well maintained and clean. This is especially appreciated with the straight razor neck shave that they do because you need a sharp razor for that.My first haircut at this place was booked through their website and I was surprised when Riley had actually read my notes and began talking to me about them when I arrived (I was reinventing my do). Now, I book the next appt every time I am there. Very convenient.For what its worth, Ive also come to learn that all the staff and management at this place get along famously and they really enjoy working there. The results reflect that. I highly recommend.

Well the best hair cut by far since I have been away from my home. I have been gone since September 2018 by boat from Vancouver Canada to San Diego USA. Many hair cuts along the way from the worst one in Sasualito to now the best one by Tabitha Leathers. She was the best by far. Highly recommend her and Tailored hair for men.

They treat you like a superstar. Free coffee, free beer, free aromatherapy. But you essentially pay for it in the huge price of the haircut. Guess Im not bougie enough

I absolutely love this salon. My stylist Sydney was bright and a pleasure to talk to. She smiled often and made quick work of my long hair. I was warmly greeted upon walking into the modern boutique and offered a hot cup of tea with honey, which is just what I needed considering the soreness in my throat. While washing my hair she took extra care to make sure I was relaxed and happy. All these small details made, what could have been just another haircut, a truly memorable experience. I will certainly be back from my next cut!

Ive been to Tailored Hair now several times and Ive had my hair cut by three different barbers (on purpose).I really like the shop. Lizzy does a great job of promoting a collaborative atmosphere and all the barbers are professional and good at what they do. Its also one of the few places a guy, like me, with longer hair can go and they dont just pull out the buzzer and start chopping. Very happy to have found a good place in San Diego.

This was my first time here after hearing from a friend to try it out I scheduled an appointment with Ashley and was able to get in within the hour. This trip began with me parking on the street right in front of the business. As I walked in the door I was surprised by how open the layout was and warm reception as I was greeted upon entering. I was offered an assortment of drinks and other treats while I waited as I showed up a little early. I called and scheduled an appointment with Ashley and she was prompt, friendly and on time. As this was my first time here, I deferred to Ashleys experience and gave her the greenlight to do as she thought was the best fit. She was incredibly kind and insightful, not only did she take her time but she made sure I was satisfied and had exactly what I liked and suited me.  I love my new haircut and recommend everyone I know to come here to see what they have been missing out on with an amazing experience.

Every aspect of your haircut - from the complimentary beer/cocktail they offer when you walk in to the neck shave and hot towels at the end - is geared toward quality and comfort. I was in town for a wedding and was told, at the last minute, that maybe I looked a little... creepy. Turns out it wasnt me standing in front of schools with candy that did it, it was my hair. I made some calls and picked up an appt with Riley. She did a fantastic job. After a couple weeks I can still say this was the best hair cut Ive had in about a decade. And pampered! a great head massage, i like the hot towel and the razoring of the neck. This Salon really fits its name. The total experience was phenomenal, not to mention getting a great haircut.My hairdresser, Megan, is a top pro as apparently all of them are as this Salon is 1st rate. She cut my hair just how I like it. I was also given a free drink(I chose a premium whiskey). They also have Trident coffee.The Salon is really cool with 2 levels, bar type area and the cut included shampoo and neck shave.Location wise, it cant be beat, as its just around the corner from Petco Stadium in the upscale East Village.Tailored is now my favorite place for a haircut in San Diego.

Hello,I chose this place to get my hair done because of an ex-employee. But Im glad I did. They have a great staff that greets you when you come in, and even offers you a drink of alcohol. The environment of the shop is so comfy and relaxing that its so worth for me driving to downtown to just get my hair done. And if you ever do plan on going... ask for Sydney, she is one of the best Stylists that I have ever had, they all listen and make suggestions. Its just a great place and then some. :)

I just got my hair cut at the new Tailored location downtown and it was a real treat. Everyone who works there is super sweet, talented, and professional. The suite is very nice inside; they play cool music, shave you with an old school straight razor, shampoo & massage your scalp, and send you off with a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie. To top it off, you get to sip on your choice of whiskey or craft beer while you enjoy getting your hair cut by a skilled, positive, and entertaining woman.

When it comes to Barbers you generally only find the place that fits you best after running around for a few weeks.Coming here for the first time I was sceptical of what I would find, as it wasnt very flashy or well seen from the street, but like all hidden places this was certainly a gem.I was welcomed with a smile and quickly accommodated, despite not having an appointment, as if I were any of their regulars. Before the haircut began I was given a choice of Spirits to select from before being shown to my chair. My Barber, Ashley, ensured she had a thorough understanding of what I wanted before going to work. The conversation was seem less with any silences comfortable. Before the conclusion I was given a shampoo and conditioner wash to remove any remaining loose hairs.Within one visit they have made me a regular for their establishment, and I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting quality for an amazing price.

From start to finish, Jaclyn provides an awesome one-on-one experience that includes a beer (or whiskey - usually depends on how little I plan to do at work afterward), badass haircut (she asks me exactly what I want, shows me pictures, and creates a masterpiece), neck shave, scalp massage, a warm towel over my face and aroma therapy that is super relaxing, along with music of my choice and some awesome conversation. After visiting Jaclyn, Ive had more people compliment me on my haircut in one week than I have my whole life. Always looking forward to my next appointment!

Got a haircut appt on short notice. Guess that was my first clue. Way way way overpriced for a below average haircut. By far the worst value in a haircut...ever. The atmosphere is a loft style apt, which is hardly amazing. These other reviews must be fake as my experience lacked significantly.

Ive visited this place 3-5 times since i moved to San Diego last December 2017, and i have to say that Brit and Ashley have done a great job. However, the blonde girl who cut my hair 2 weeks ago did a terrible terrible job. She was in a rush, she was careless, and even when she shampooed my hair she was rough. I dont think she cares about customers, unless she only cares certain type of customers and i didnt fall to that category. She was quiet the whole time and made my haircut experience very uncomfortable, unpleasant, the worst ever. Never will come back to this place, not recommended, unless you go with Brit or Ashley.
