I had a long running EFI problem with my 1970 Chevelle thats frustrated me for a few years. Ive also never paid a shop to work on this car but I decided to have the professionals at JBA take a shot at it. I REALLY want to thank Ryan and Austin (and the gentleman who did some of the tuning whose name I didnt get) for the above and beyond customer service and communication. Even after I got my car home, Austin reached out to make sure everything went smooth. Ill definitely be bringing my car back for future maintenance and upgrades.

I owe JBA Speed multiple 5 star reviews! I moved into the area in 2019 and this shop is my go to shop for pretty much everything. I am an avid mustang hobbyist that will try everything in my power to do things myself. Naturally, there are some things that I just cannot do myself in my 2 car garage and I have yet find something they cannot do. I have had them do various things over past two years: dyno tune, transmission install, custom machining work, 4.6L engine rebuild, and tires to name a few. Austin is one-of-a-kind manager. I took my mustang in and was told it would be done the following day it wasn’t done for another week after the quoted date. Also they quoted me $240 and the final bill was $450. And to top it off I got a 1/4th mile down the street and one of their 1/2 ratchets fell out of my engine bay and dented the side of my mustang would not recommend these guys to anyone . I was very disappointed in the quality of work and service I received.

This review has been long overdue. Back in late August of 2020 I brought my Mustang GT in to JBA Speed Shop to get an issue diagnosed that was clutch related. When shifting at high RPMs the clutch pedal would sometimes stick, this would not happen every time. They ended up not being able to replicate the issue, and recommended the clutch fluid be changed. On my car the clutch and brakes share the same fluid. When bleeding the brakes the tech got brake fluid on the caliper which caused damage to the caliper paint. This was attributed to the previous owner repainting the calipers improperly. I was not mad about it since they said they would take care of it. They had told me to test drive the car over the weekend first. A month and a half had passed after picking up my car and my caliper was still not fixed. In between that time every phone call I would make was met with excuses, and was told multiple times by Dave that I would get a phone call tomorrow. I did not receive a single phone call in that time. I finally decided to drive my car down to the shop unannounced and told them I needed my car fixed. I was livid at this point. They finally started getting things going once I dropped my car off. This experience was very disappointing due to the fact that they did not show any eagerness to make things right. Had I not brought my car to them and stopped calling im positive that they would have conveniently forgotten about the whole issue, and would have been more than happy to get away without fixing anything. I will not be doing any business with them in the future.

Worked on my 64 Lincoln. My car runs great had engine replaced and upgraded. Transmission rebuilt, brakes upgraded, Dakota dash. and more. Small issues with any large build but JBA fixed these issues. Customer Service great.

All the guys here are awesome and knowledgeable. Kyle is the man, he mounted up my new Enkei RPF1s safely with no damage, thanks again Kyle. I will definitely be coming back and making sure my fellow car friends do as well.

They have an open house (Cars and Coffee) 2nd Sunday of every month. Great time some awesome individuals.

From preswap to final touches, they have been unwilling to help with my build and apparently these guys stay busy enough to never need to call you back. Its happened about 4 times already. Find a more humble mechanic, is probably similar to they advice they will give you in some form or another.

I recently moved to LA and just bought my dream car - a 1964 Ford Falcon Futura 2-door with a 260 V8. I want to get some power from this cute small block and though who better to pump it up but JBA back in my home town of SD. I spoke to Paul and asked for some prices and options and he said he would call me back - if not that Thursday PM then the next day Friday. Today is Monday and no contact. Not cool Jay, you lost a paying customer and instead youre getting bad pr here.

JBA got my cherished little 74 CJ5 road-worthy again. I almost didnt bring it in there due to I thought maybe my project wasnt in their scope of speed and performance. I quickly found out it s not just about raw hp with them but honoring the car culture. My CJ fit right in with the exotics and muscle-cars they have there. I already had a realistic expectation as to time and cost, which I looked at as an investment. For those of you thinking of dusting the cobwebs off your garage queen, you wont be disappointed with JBA. They take the time to do it right and to make things work. This isnt a Customs Cake Decoration Shop but a place to go if you want your ride to perform right every time. I couldnt be happier with the results and service. Ill be bringing my Jeep there for tune-ups and continued service as well as my next project: a 70 GTO.

Despite a notice saying they would get back in 24 hours I got a response 2 days later. Not a huge deal so whatever. But then some clown emails me back with one sentence:Unfortunately the supercharger kits for these cars are not legal.Fair enough about the supercharger. But they didnt even ask if it was for track or street. Also didnt even mention the engine rebuild. I asked again. Then I thought about it and emailed right away telling them to not worry about it as they could of mentioned that in their initial response. First impressions go a long way and these clowns missed the mark. If simple customer service is too hard to provide I see no point in doing business with this company, especially when thousands of dollars are involved.

Over filled my transmission by 3+ quarts. When I brought it to their attention, after I started having trouble shifting, they imediatly went on defense, and offered no real solution to fixing their mistake other than I pay them to work on it again. Over filling it by that much wouldnt cause any issues, if anything it would be better for it - OwnerI did buy tires here once and had a pretty good experience.I dont think these are bad people but I wish I would have just done the work myself (I ended up having to anyway basically). And as far as standing behind what they do I just dont see it.

Great mechanics, top quality guys! A bit pricey, however worth it. You will get what you pay for, when it comes to labor and technical experts. You will drive away satisfied and at ease. I will definitely use JBA in the future for my resto-mod project. Ask to speak with Austin. Overall the team is awesome!

Learned about the new Hunter Roadforce balance machine at JBA and had the skins on the work truck rotated/balanced. Their new tech, Kyle, has over a decade of experience and even uses a plastic coated socket so he cannot mar the wheels (as has already been accomplished by a local tire expert who did the last rotate/balance....grrrrrr). Even sideforce was measured and he rotated everything to minimize any pull that comes from the tire contact patch. Should get 10^24 (thats a yotta) stars! #welldone

Its unfortunate to be at the mercy of a tuner. Ive had a few cars tuned.. not at jba. But I know the deal. I made an appointment, 2weeks ago. And I show up on time. The car is towed. We timed it as perfect as we could. Expecting to start the dyno process. And I understand things happen. But I drop the car., and he tells me its going to be x amount up to xx of dollars...and if I dont get to it today, Ill call you tomorrow. Tomorrow? Ive already took a day off for this. And waited 2 weeks. Not only did I take the day of so did my client. But I keep my thoughts to myself. We leave disappointed. So I come back around 330. Ask if they have a update. I hear the story. We got a car on the rack, its supposed to be done on friday, Im 2 guys short. And the kicker is he starts with it might even be more then xx amount of dollars If you have a schedule, and you know youre backed up. Why not give me a courtesy call. Like I said i know things happen. But to totally disregard my time, and my clients time. Im starting to second guess my choice of bringing it here.

I am a first time classic car owner. I was a little scared driving my car because I was worried about any hidden hazards it may have. Austin did such a good job inspecting my car and looking for cost efficient ways to resolve any issues. I highly recommend Austin and JBA.

I had called and discussed my new engine needs with a younger gentleman there. After a lengthy conversation he stated that he would have someone call me back to proceed. That was about a month ago.

After almost a year running my tune from JBA Ive decided to get it retuned, if you own a small displacement turbo charged engine I would not reccomend this shop for tuning. People were nice and shop was clean but in the end I feel I was overpaying for under experienced tuning, and after changing the tune from this shop Ive gained both power and smoothness from my engine.

My family and I stopped into JBA speed shop today and they helped answer my questions regarding the issues I was having with one of my classic muscle cars and even though they were extremely busy they were very helpful and answered all of my questions. We had the awesome opportunity to tour the facility and I was very impressed by the amount of inventory and quality of parts and the organization and cleanliness of the whole facility.thank you very much and I can assure anyone that they are in good hands with JBA. I came in and was not greeted in a a friendly manner, guy at front counter was trying charge me 1400 hundred to switch out my stock coils for eibachs, coils are aboyt 400 .00 max how can u charge me almost a grand for labor work, i dont think i was treated with the proper respect specily after i mentioned that i lived in mexico . I mak and and spend dollars in U.S., i couldve easily gone to tj and got work done for a quaryer of price . Will not recomend shop to anyone and will share my experience with everyone that bring them up. Really felt like they were trying to milk money out of me

Not only did I receive outstanding service from JBA, but the Owner Jay, took time out of his busy day to personally ensure I was 100% satisfied with my new mods to my vehicle, by going for a quick test drive. Walk into JBA Performance Center was very impressed with the layout of the store the amount performance parts available. Went in looking to have my 1971 challenger dyno and the first person I met MICHAEL YANEZ wasnt very friendly. Basically just said its $150 when asked how much the dyno was. Wasnt very inquiring or wanted to know if you could help definitely wouldnt be coming back here.

The guys at the Speed Shop were fantastic. I had an issue with my speed sensors and I needed to re-program the computer on my Silverado. Because it is a 2017, no one had the update yet. This was the 2nd shop I went to and none of the other shops called me back. After initially not having the correct program, they sent my diagnostics in to the programming company and within hours they called me back in. My sensors are now working properly and I will be back in to get a tune. Very impressed with their turn around time.

Took my mustang in for an alignment. The cost was 50% more than quoted and they didnt call me before doing the work to say that it was going to cost more. I didnt say anything at the time because it took them at their word the work was needed.When I picked up the car the tech warned me that because I was using camber bolts on the front struts the alignment would probably not last very long. He went on to recommend an alternative to the camber bolts that would cost even more money.Well he was right that the alignment was likely to change, because shortly thereafter I discovered that the camber bolts and other strut bolts were loose. They were barely snugged beyond finger tight.Im left wondering in if he accidentally left the bolts loose or if it was a scam to get me to come back for more work. Either way, I wont be going back to JBA.

This shop is by far top notch quality in both parts and service, mike behind the desk and lee in the shop. Thank you gentlemen for getting my sequoia in and out in a timely manner. I have a 2005 F150 lariat 4 wheel drive 5.4 I received my 1st set of JBA headers titanium coating . Within the 1st 3 weeks the right side header cracked up close next to the head . JBA warranty that. I paid another installation cost and within a months time both headers are cracked again . And yes flex pipes were installed JBA is Sending out another set am I going to continue to have this problem it is costing me a small fortune in installation cost .

What a joke! This shop is a typical SoCal shop that specializes in not helping you yet claiming they still know best. Its what I get for trying to take my ride to a muffler shop!!! :) Huge disappointment! How far from grace SoCal performance shops have fallen! Thats what I get! When you want something done right do it yourself! The conflicting know-it-all-knowledge from this shop is mind numbingly inaccurate! Im sure they have mechanical skill but their knowledge is horrible! You have been warned!!!

I walked in today to pick up a hard to find -AN fitting. Not only did they have it in stock AND in the right color, but the customer service was excellent! Pay them a visit if youre ever looking for a fuel or hydraulic fittings/lines before ordering parts online and playing the waiting game. Youll be surprised what you find.
