I had a clutch that was slipping and decided to bring it here after shopping around a bit. Steve took the time to talk me through the work and the price that I ended up paying was very reasonable. Now Im back out on the road and the clutch is gripping like new! Ill definitely be coming back for other repairs.

A friend recommended Car Diego to me and I am very glad they did. As we all know, some mechanics will rip people off but nothing about this place made me feel as though they were being disingenuous. There were a couple other problems they found aside from what I brought it in for and I believe them. I knew there was more wrong with the car and I’m glad they were able to get it all done. On top of that they had it all done with a day. They also didn’t charge me labor costs on a couple of things which was awesome. Not to sure the name of the guy who did all my paperwork and answered the phones but anytime I called he always took the time to explain everything to me. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone!!

After taking our 2015 Jeep Cherokee to the Jeep Dealership to have the air conditioning fixed, which they didnt after having it for 5 days and my bringing it back a SECOND time both times they said it was fixed when it absolutely wasnt. We took it to Steve at Car Diego he found the problem/leak within 45 minutes, the repair was completed in 24 hours. He helped me by documenting what he did and taking pictures so we can present them to the Jeep Dealership while requesting our refund. I can not say enough good things about this business!

Dont judge a book by its cover. This is a tiny shop but Steve is great! Im new to SD and was nervous to try a new mechanic .Brought my car in for the first time and had a great experience. He is a very honest and nice guy. Doesnt try to nickel and dime you for anything and will tell you if you can wait for certain things to be fixed . My hubby is extremely skeptical of mechanics since he does a lot of the work himself in our cars and he even likes Steve!

Their estimates are spot on and they are really good about calling if there is a problem or if they find something.They can be a little relaxed on timing, so if you really need your car by a deadline, make sure to be clear on that; if you are, they have always been good about getting my car out on time!I trust them!

Nick and his team have been taking care of my cars for six years. Tomorrow they will install new headlights on my Mini Cooper. Nick has been honest and forthright and his work is consistantly on time and on budget. For anyone who knows little or nothing about their buggy but relies on its performance, you cannot do better than Car Diego!

Terrible service, purposefully takes advantage of customers. Amazing that they will cheat a customer over $40 rather than get business again...Took it in for a simple emissions test to get my car registered. Engine light supposedly came on once he drove it into the spot to check it. You think any honest mechanic would at that point let you know, since an engine light is automatic failure of emissions. He runs it anyway...THEN tells me it failed and that I have an engine light on and that it was on before he even ran the test.So I plainly asked him, so you knew it was on and you ran it anyway knowing it will fail and I will pay $40 for nothing?His answer, yep! you asked me to check emissions, its not my problem to ask you about the engine light. I couldnt believe my ears. Of course once he realized how ridiculous and rude it sounded, he changed his story to, Im not allowed to tell a customer that his check engine light is on.What a joke...any honest person would not waste someones time or money. I guess this just helps to give you a good idea about what sort of individual the owner is. So if you want to get things fixed, Im sure he can actually fix it, but dont expect any honesty...youll prob pay more than you needed to and hell have a hundred poor excuses about how its your fault for asking him to fix it, but not explaining how to fix it.

I have been taking my two cars to Nick for years. A 1998 Jeep and a 1997 Passatt. He always does a great job, honest pricing, on time delivery. Up front. Black and white. Love these guys. No nonsense and very caring. Its either them or the dealer.

Pretty reasonable shop. I called around to compare a quote they gave me to nearby shops. I wouldnt say by-far the best price, but less expensive. Still, this is a solid mechanic for the area.

This place looks small and you might miss it if youre not looking for it, but this place is where you need to go for your cars needs service.Friendly service, honest and will let you know what needs to be done next and when it should be done. The first time I came in was because I failed my smog inspection. So oxygen sensor needed replacing. After calling around, knowing what needed to be done, they still had to inspect.Most all places were $100 to $150. Told them ok, but does that amount get applied to the repair service that used to be the norm in auto repair industry,, since you already know whats wrong and the area was disassembled...nope. That will be on top of the repair itself, 2 separate things I was told. Thank you Smittys on Adams Ave auto repair, (never a good work or reasonably priced experience with thoes guys) never have to go to you again.I called CarDiego, since I live on Adams as well. They had an opening, do apply inspection as part of the service and do smog inspection. I found out the place that did my inspection, no pass no pay or no pass, pay and free retest, nope. Pay $50 again to test.Steve n the guys did it for $20 after doing the repair, but my car had to be driven a certain speed for a certain amount of miles for it to register in the sensor. Since my tags expired since a last minute laged, Steve showed me how to get extension till the sensor kicked in.It took a few times for me to drive b4 it kicked in, even going to the shop 3 times for them to test it, never charging me once for the sensor test, were so cool about getting it up to snuff.Finally everything synced up and my bill was given up. Ridiculously fair priced, possibly a bit too low I even questioned it. Nope it was correct he told me.Since then I have been 3 times. Oil change. Then for leaking coolant and oil, they fixed it, fast and more that reasonably priced! I left them my key and since I would be at work when it was done I asked if the could send the price to me and just pay on my debit card and leave my car on the street so I could pick it up w my key since I needed my car in the A.M. Done and done and done. They even held my spare key until I picked it up over a month later. Awesome.My last visit this past week, I called on Thursday, my day off in the morning, asked for availability for a tune up that day since I was doing a road trip in a few days. They let me know there was no availability at the time but would call if something opened up. Noon Steve calls and just says have your car here at 3pm I did, and by 430it was ready to go. What amazing service! When I went to get my car and pay all I can say w every mechanic and shop I have used throughout the years, this bill was the least expensive of any oil ever had.I cant tell you how much but sufficed to say they did me a extremely kind solid. Truly the best experience every time.I have praised them before on social media cause thats how awesome they are. Local and make you feel as if your a friend or neighbor. Honest, reliable, nice, legit, and fully transparent with what was done and what needs doing next. Trust me, I was lucky I called them. There are few around like this today.This is obviously the longest review I have written. Im doing this on Fathers Day Sunday because I feel so strongly about the staff and how they treat their clientele and cars. Message me if you go and dont feel the same. New my Audi was $45,000.00, thats how much I trust these guys and now, only these guys to handle her.

They were fast but not honest about their prices... On the phone he quoted me $40.00 for a smog; when I actually get there he charges me $50.00! And charged me $220.00 for a basic oil change an battery replacement!
