Look... go to Ken’s before going anywhere else. I was referred to Ken’s by West Automotive and that’s saying a lot. I have not looked back since. Prices are upfront, staff is friendly, shop is clean, and the mechanics do an awesome job. It’s hard to find a trustworthy Mechanic and I was blessed to find Ken’s. The owner Ken is one of kind. A truly honest guy and Brian is a Teddy Bear. Can’t get any better than that.

I am so happy that I found a good mechanic! Just moved to the area and found Kens through doing some research on mechanics near me. Ken himself was very friendly and helpful. They recommended everything I should do on my car in a non-pushy way. Just simply: this is what should be done but you don’t need to do it all today. Most places make me feel like my car will spontaneously combust if I don’t fix whatever $400 repair they suggest. Not Ken!I will definitely be going here for my future auto upkeep and repair:)

I called Ken when I was broken down on the side of the road the other day. He was at my car within 10 minutes! He ran a diagnostic but couldn’t find anything conclusive that way so he helped me get my car to his shop. He then gave me a ride to my husband’s office so I could have a car. Within a few hours he had found it was just a loose electrical connection, and had fixed it for no charge! Super friendly and professional staff. I’m very impressed! I visited Kens auto to have an engine installed. My truck was towed in with the new engine in the bed. With engine out, the mechanic made a few suggestions of a few things that werent needed now, but would probably need attention later, based on the age of my truck, easier and cheaper labor cost now, ie: fuel filter and they poured out a lot of the transmission fluid (old). That alone saved me about $150. I dont use a repair shop often, I prefer to do my own work. I was able to talk to them and they listened to my concerns and answered my questions in language I can understand. They also didnt try and sell me things I didnt need or want . No hard sales or scare tactics Thanks and Ill be back to have my wifes a/c checked out. Gary C

Well lets just say- just like many of you, Ive been trying to find an honest, trustworthy auto mechanic with ethics, integrity and pride in their work. As for me- Id been searching since I bought my first car MANY YEARS ago......well I finally found Kens about 7 years ago. Best Kens story; was told by another BIG COMPANY mechanic that I blew a head gasket (VERY expensive fix).....well when Ken and his crew took a look- it was just a heater box and a hose that broke...... easily saving me more than a thousand some dollars! And even more so- just see for yourself- next repair you need- just go in and see how refreshingly professional, kind, considerate and what just plane nice good people they truly are. Honesty- you owe it to yourself....I so very glad I found them!

I’m from Las Vegas and drove down to San Diego to purchase a 2006 Honda Accord. To be safe I searched on Google and I found Ken’s shop and he got me in right away at a very reasonable price to do a pre-purchase inspection. Needless to say they found multiple issues with the vehicle and saved me from making a $5200 mistake! Ken is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and fantastic when it comes to customer service. I’d recommend anyone in the San Diego area to use his services.

Wow! I have never before had as good an experience with an auto shop!Ken and Brian are fair, honest and easy to work with. They assessed my situation via email and provided a very reasonable quote for the work they thought needed to be done.Dropped the car off and within a day they got back to us letting us know what had been misdiagnosed by the last company who looked it over, what they missed, the timeframe for fixing it and the ramifications of waiting.They did the most urgent work quickly and without incident, and honored the first quote.I will definitely go back to them - their oil change and checkup prices are on par with chains such as Firestone, but their expertise and service far outshine those guys!Thank you, Ken and Brian! Great reception service. As soon as you walk in they’re polite and professional. Price was great. They are down the street from my job. I dropped it off in the morning got a ride to work and the car was ready by lunchtime. Will definitely be going there again.

Wow. I can’t say enough about the service I got here. Not only did they instill complete trust from having worked on my husbands car a couple times, but my oil leak was handled AND EXPLAINED to me! He showed me the faulty oil filter I got by a cheap drive through oil change place. Then further assured me of how they triple checked the issue was handled. I will never go anywhere else again. After receiving quotes from several dealership service centers, I called Kens Auto Center to discuss the cost of routine maintenance for my 2015 Volkswagen Tiguan. Ken and his staff are true professionals and took the time to answer all of my questions. Thankfully, I made the wise decision to bring my SUV to Ken! Kens Auto Center thoroughly inspected my SUV and only charged me for maintenance that was necessary. Had I taken my SUV to a dealership service shop, I would have paid hundreds of dollars more for maintenance that did not need to be completed at that time. If Kens Auto Center tells you something needs to be done on your vehicle you can rest assured they are telling the truth!!! Thank you Ken for your honesty and integrity!

I have taken my car here a bunch and received quick service. I know they are not the cheapest, but they just recently quoted me $330 in labor for an alternator change that I brought my own part to.... it does not take over 3 hours to change an alternator. Definitely makes me question the other bills that I have received.

This shop did a great on an oil change and a couple of other small items, as well as a health assessment for my 2010 Camry. Fast and courteous!

If I could give less than one I would. This place sucks. They wouldnt even take our car for a temperature sensor fault that was causing the car not to pass smog, citing liability reasons. What BS. Give your car needs business to someone more deserving.

Been taking my wifes car and my car there for years. As a firefighter, I know general engine maigenmaint but when I need advanced care I go see Ken Actually, I have meet Ken and he is a nice guy. The whole staff were professional and honest. Definately appreciate them.

Dropped off my car this morning at 8:00 am. Four hours later, I still havent received a call so I phoned them. The rep said the car hasnt been checked but will be soon. Called back an hour later and still nothing. Two hours later, they phoned and said they wouldnt be able to look at it due to other car repairs. Also, they wouldnt charge me and I could bring it back next week. Unbelievable! They should have been upfront with me at the beginning when I brought it in. What a wasted day. Never going back to this place again!

Overall honest straight forward good craftsmanship job they did on my SUV. When they did make a mistake they were willing to quickly correct it. So far the work they did on my SUV is solid without any issues.

My suburban broke down on the highway just a few miles from Kens Auto Center. I was able to limp it into his shop, but was nervous that I didnt have much of a choice of where to take it. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! Ken himself made a special effort to help me, and even offered me a ride home to Poway.I found this place by accident, but Ill be going back there on purpose in the future.

I took my vehicle in on a Friday for a brake inspection, there had been problems with brakes over-adjusting. Kens did some work that they thought would fix the problem, but the following Monday I noticed that the problem had not been corrected (in a most alarming way) and brought it back in.The owner (Ken) called and let me know that they noticed a defect they hadnt considered important before, and asked if they should repair it, slightly puzzled, I said yes but Ken said I would have to pay for the labor a second time. I objected to paying for more than the new parts, since this was the very problem Id already paid to have corrected, but wasnt.When I returned to pay and pick up my vehicle, Ken stated that he wouldnt guarantee that the problem had been resolved, stated that any further visit with the same issue would be fully charged, and even expressed doubts it had ever existed. I found this shocking and far less than one should expect of a reputable establishment.These people will NOT stand behind their work, and I will never go to Kens Automotive again.

I brought my clunking 1997 Chrysler Sebring in for an oil change, in an effort to squeeze an extra thousand or two miles out of it. These guys did the repairs I requested, but then brought me over to my car, and said you really need to see this. They then lifted the hood and showed me that my engine was jumping out of its compartment because everything holding it in was broken. Instead of trying to hoodwink me with expensive repairs that would ultimately do nothing, they suggested I kick the bucket on this one, and retire the car. As I drove away down the freeway, I considered the advice I was given, and pulled into a dealership and bought a new car. If they hadnt given me that advice, the car would have surely broken down on the side of the freeway, as it did a couple of weeks later as I drove to its final destination. These guys are awesome!
