They charge for office errors, which they commit and they wanna charger extra.Also the online site has a lot of problems and the online payment sends you the payment confirmation, then you receive a letter with the additional charge for the alleged reinstallation of the policy, and the customer service is horrible when you call to ask about your policy Dont be fooled and save yourself a lot of trouble. This is the worst there is. Dont waste your time or money.
I had to get my new car insured to take it out of the lot and so i found this insurance company. We settled on a certain amount to be paid monthly... little did i know, when they billed me for my first month, it was double what we agreed upon. i called them and asked them why they raised the bill and they said they didn’t know why. So i ended up just canceling their insurance. this happened on January. 4 months later i get mail from them saying that i owe them money because i canceled with them on February! where did they even get that from? I have proof that i canceled their business but they don’t want to take it. and now they took it to credit collection services! I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND! they just want money ! I would honestly give them negative stars if i could.
If I can give 0 stars I would. They never answer their phones or return your calls. I’ve been trying to contact the person in charge of my total loss going on 3 weeks with no answer. Now I’m really pushing because they took out over $1,200 in fees from my settlement that are applied if the owner retains the vehicle which I signed the vehicle over to them and have proof. If you are having problems with them I suggest you contact the Commisioner of Insurance and file a complaint. I’m doing that now and I told them that and now all of a sudden they call me back about 4 hrs after I leave my voicemail. The person in charge of my total loss is claiming shes been out of office a few weeks due to an emergency and she just so happened to return the day I mention contacting the Commissioner apparently, even though I have a signed document from her dating 5 days after my first that was in the settlement package I received. This isn’t the only issue I’ve had with them throughout my claim. Every person I’ve contacted is like this. They only get back to you if you threaten them with an attorney or filing a complaint. I’m about ready to sue this insurance but we’ll see how everything goes from here.

I was in an accident that was not my fault,I called Anchor and they picked up immediately, very professional and polite..They educated me respectfully on what to do (due to it being my first car accident on my first brand new vehicle) my insurance was helpful, notified me who was picking up my car, where and when. Always notified me of any pricing.. All I had to pay was deductible which im going too see if Anchor can help me refund it from the person that is at fault. So far Anchor is there and they had my back. Thank you to the Team in Anchor.. I recommend Anchor General.
I would give this company minus 38 stars if I could. Worst customer service and claim practices Ive ever experienced or even heard of. I wouldnt trust Anchor General to insure anything. My son had an incident of very ambiguous fault where his mirror clicked with another vehicle on a narrow mountain road and without ever talking to him or me their claims examiner decided it was his fault based solely on the word of the other driver and now he has points against an otherwise unblemished record simply because Anchor General threw him, a paying customer under the bus at the word of a man who lied and said he was a cop at the scene, tried to steal my sons phone and hold it ransom, and threatened him. Anchor General apparently bowed to this bully and did so without talking to me or my son about what really happened.
Impossible to get a hold of. Rude over the phone. Wrote us claims checks that we are unable to cash and they wont send us another. Sending us paperwork for other clients. They are the worst insurance you can get, you are better off going uninsured.

I had Anchor General while living in California and thought they were honestly a great value given the price. It was used as a bare minimum to follow state regulations and it served its purpose.That is not why I am giving it 5 stars though.That reason is because of their customer service team. Not just a customer service team, but one that works quickly, with compassion, and most of all, are capable of actually solving your issue without having to be transferred 10 times to only spend hours on the phone with no actual resolution, if not, further from one.Long story short, I had a billing mishap, purely created on my own,, but was able to get it handled, rectified, and a resolution met within minutes on the phone and through email.To my surprise, when I called, the call was almost immediately picked up my a REAL PERSON. A sort of convenience that can be overlooked in this day and age.I explained my scenario and without much effort, was given clear and detailed directions on what to do, and how to do it. I sent over the requested information, and almost immediately was replied to, asked to do one more tiny thing, and by the morning, I was getting a phone call that everything had been taken care of.It reminds me that there are reasons these small businesses need customers, and more so, that us customers need companies that have service teams like this one does.Shout out to people like Pauline who helped me out immensely.Also, to their management team, who is confident enough in their staff and give the power to their customer service team, to efficiently, and positively, resolve customer concerns.I certainly appreciate the way Anchor General was able to do so for me.

I was hit on January 26, 2019 by a drunk driver who was insured by this company. He fled on foot from the scene of the accident. Through my investigation, I discovered the registered owner of the vehicle that struck me as well as his insurance company and policy number and filed a claim with Anchor General. The lady in the claims department who took my information was nice enough and seemed professional. After entering the pertinent details of my claim, I was assigned a claims number and told that an adjuster would be calling me in two days. After two days with no call from the assigned adjuster, I called back. It did take me some time to get through to someone but eventually I spoke with a representative who turned me over to a supervisor.My conversation with this supervisor was by far the most unprofessional call that I have ever had to endure. This supervisor essentially stated that the best Anchor General could do was to pay me $5000 to repair the damages to my vehicle. He also stated that since it was not certain who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident, Anchor Generals liability might be lessened if they determined that the registered owner was not the driver of the vehicle. Because he fled on foot, neither I nor the law enforcement were able to ascertain his identity. Lastly, he threatened to stall his investigation for months while my vehicle sat in the repair shop.While I understand that the aim of insurance companies is to minimize claim reimbursements, I feel that this company takes denial of claims to a whole new low. And they appear to be adept at the many ins and out of frustrating motorists who present them with valid claims. For this reason, I feel that its best to obtain legal representation to pursue both them and this registered owner for the damage done to my vehicle.
I was hit by a driver insured by Anchor General on 5/27. Its now 6/16 and despite calling and leaving messages with both the claim rep Gretchen Williams and supervisor Yager OConnor, I havent once gotten through to a real person to give my statement. The driver caused $2600 in damage to my car and has caused me to be driving with no front right turn signal for almost 3 weeks now. This is so unprofessional and Im left trying to figure out my options. I cant believe 3 weeks have gone by with no answer or response to any of my messages.

Ive canceled my policy in Feb 2021, was still being charged until June 2021 and needed to be issued a refund. Over $600 that needs to be refunded and keep calling back and no updates on the check, wish they could just direct deposit what they withdrew, but say they can only issue a check that takes 2-3 weeks to arrive, its been more than 4 weeks and am being told I need to wait longer and that its been reissued when they told me they couldnt request to reissue it. Very frustrating, its now August 2021 and nothing has been refunded. Poor experience, not very responsive.

I was given an adjuster after 3 days of me calling every day, her name is jaqueline Rosas or something I dont know how she spells her name. She was the most rude and disrespectful person Ive ever spoke to on the phone. First of all she was on vacation for like 2 weeks and my car was just siting in the front of my house. I got called again and someone else answered. Her name was Dulce, now Dulce, on the other hand was very helpful and nice. She got the process started for me and that day my car was taken to the body shop. Then I was redirected to my original adjuster well, after that happened it just went bad after that, she told me they only cover the front but not the side, because it had rust and looked old. I mean my car did sit outside for almost 3 weeks. And the front is all plastic so yeah. Anywho, she tells me to assume full responsibility of the side damage as a different claim or else she would send a forensics detective to talk to me and go look at the scene where the accident happened. Since the other unlicensed vehicle left the scene. At this point today 04/19/2021 my car is still at the shop. They called me to say they are fixing only the front and not the side. But then the entire week went by and they never told the shop to get started on the vehicle. I called jackeline or jaqueline or jackonlean I dont know, last name Rosas and my calls would straight to voicemail. So I called Dulce again. She helped me got the process started again. I called the collision center and they said they ordered the parts and it should be ready this Friday, thanks to Dulce, dulce you need to work somewhere else, youre too good for them.
This is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I have been a customer for 10 years and after a storm damaged my car with sand damage they denied my claim and said it was wear and tear.Later they sent their so called experts that cleaned my car while it was full of sand with a rag and further damaged it.Instead of helping me they made the problem much bigger. Anchor General has failed the insurance industry miserably. My neighbors father backed into my sons car. The man was kind and assumed full responsibility. We contacted his insurance which happens to be Anchor General. I took about a week to be assigned an adjuster (Aushlia Franco). I attempted to contact Ms. Franco literally over 20-30 times with no call back. I called the main number to see if I could contact her or somebody else. The person would always tell me that she was on the phone or away from her desk. I was asked for her supervisors contact information who happens to be Dennis Guld. Mr. Guld did make contact with me and assured me that he was going to make sure that everything was going to be taken care of. He went on to say if I ever needed his assistance to contact him via email or call him directly. It is now a month later and our car is sitting at the dealership completed BUT cannot be released because we cannot get payment to the dealership. I have sent multiple emails and left tons of messages with no response. In one of my recent emails I mentioned the recent passing of my father. I am still handling estate and really do not have time to be making dozens of call a day. As mentioned, Anchor General has failed the insurance industry miserably and has absolutely no compassion for those how are impacted by their clients. Not even a death in the family will create any sense of urgency much less a call. I can only hope that these employees do not have to experience the stress that I have incurred. Simply inhumane to say the lease.
Jamie or Jill did not remind me to call her back to show her my policy and I was charged for another month 😒 and didnt receive reimbursement when I told them I wanted to cancel my policy its kind of obvious when You tell me to send you an email with the policy number that I would not have to remind you to look for the email yourself I mean dont you get notifications that remind you to look at it

This is the worst insurance ever! Let me explain why! My boyfriends neighbor backed their truck into my boyfriends car and it just so happens that the trucks insurance was anchor general. The neighbor and my boyfriend both have been calling the insurance to get the situation solved. Every time they call the insurance they always say, we got everything and will get back to you or transfer them to another person that isnt there. Its been a month and still nothing has happened. Today my boyfriend finally went to the shop to get pictures taken. My boyfriend was planning to leave his car there but the shop said its best to not leave it at the shop because this insurance seems to always take awhile to get back to them. The shop gave my boyfriend advice to talk to Denise to set up a date to get the rental when theyre ready to take his car in. My boyfriend agreed and we took the car back home. We called Denise and try to explain the situation to her but she kept cutting off my boyfriend and would just go on and on about payments. My boyfriend explained that he understands that hell have to wait for the estimations to talk about the payments. But he was just trying to set a date to get the rental. She then cut him off again and started talking about the payments again. Now that were getting frustrated we just said ok and hung up. Sorry for the long post, run on sentences, poor grammar, and missed punctuation. But at this point Im just so irritated and frustrated with this company that I want to get it over with.DONT RECOMMEND THIS INSURANCE FOR ANYONE!

It took 2+ months to receive payment so I could take my car in to get it fixed. Keep in mind that the damage to my vehicle was extremely minor. I cant imagine having to deal with this if the damage was worse or my vehicle totaled. The claims person I was assigned to, Samuel, never got back to me. My mother was hit from behind by one of there clients. They are very unprofessional. When my mom has to speak with the rep., Matt Rice who was handling the claim, he was very short and rude towards her as if she was a child. The accident happened July 15th and its been a month now that she is able to take her car to get fixed. When the adjuster came out, he even said that it was the other persons fault. The rep. for Anchor General, Matt Rice was trying to stall to find a loop hole to say that my mom was in the wrong, but she wasnt. Matt called my mom and finally said they were going to pay for the damage because when he spoke to the witness, the witness said everything my mom said!!! So he thought my mom was lying even when the adjuster Matt sent out said there client was at fault!!! Matt Rice got one more time to talk to my mom disrespectful and we will be having our family Lawyer contact him and corporate office. I dont play with my mom being disrespected when she has done nothing wrong. This insurance company needs to be shut down after reading all 500 and something reviews being majority 1 star.

Anchor General has very high rates to begin with.The service is terrible. When I called to cancel I was instructed to send my new insurance information for them to cancel, which I did. They proceeded not to cancel my policy and charge me for another 6 months. When confronted about it they finally canceled my policy and have taken over 5 weeks to refund they payments.Do not use this company. Service is terrible, they are just in it to take your money.

This company is a scam! They are the other driver (who was at fault) insurance. They have not spoken to us one time since the accident. We have called and our insurance (USAA) has called and cannot get a live person to speak with. Anchor just sent us a check in the mail for $1,800.00 dollars when there is about $9,000.00 damage to our vehicle. (We have gotten an inspection on our own) Anchor advised our insurance that the claim was closed and we cashed the check. We have not and will not cash this check, WE NEVER EVEN SPOKE TO THEM ABOUT THE CLAIM. This accident happened in November. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

*AVOID AT ALL COSTS*3 years ago, I got in an accident the week of getting the car from the Dealership. Anchor General were the only insurance that was able to cover me at the time, so I took the risk that I still regret to this day. Long story short, I was stopped at a red light when a person crashed into the person behind me, causing them to hit me. When the police arrived he gave us all a claim number and we all parted. After this happened, I tried getting in contact over the phone with My insurance company (at the time) for MONTHS. I was never able to get a hold of them, would always get transferred to another person after they asked me how they could help me. Or, they would just simply never pick up their phone during regular business hours. I immediately felt scammed and eventually after a few more attempts gave up. I was never contacted by the police or the others involved in the crash, so I just assumed that the whole thing blowed over and that they had settled it through their insurance companies and I took the Loss and canceled my insurance with them a few months later.3 Years later aka Now, I have been informed that somebody involved in the crash is trying to serve me... When I was the main victim and the one who suffered the most car and financial damages.. Thanks for Nothing Anchor General.
Wanted to cancel my insurance with these people and told them I no longer had the vehicle. They told me that I needed to write I, my name, would like to cancel my insurance to their email. I did thinking everything was going to be tooken care of. They take another payment after my policy is supposed to be canceled, then tell me that I needed to have proof I traded my vehicle and needed a signature ? If I want to cancel my Insurance, I cancel it and don’t need to show you a damn thing...And they told me they aren’t refunding me because “they aren’t going backwards“ ?scammers....

Anchor General is the worst insurance company ever. I was hit by another vehicle who is insured with this company. The claims adjuster, Heidi, never responded to my calls or voice messages. Ive called asking to see if they can assign another adjuster to my claim. They sent an appraiser to look at my vehicle. He didnt provide any paperwork or even clean off the dirt to get an idea of the damage. He submitted a very cheap quote compared to the quote I received from the dealership 10 minutes after he left. My vehicle has been in the shop for almost 3 weeks. The dealership had to wait for the insurance company to send out the appraiser to look at my vehicle again to assess the damage. I called Heidi asking if she can approve the extension on the rental car, she didnt answer. I explained that they are holding over $300.00 on my credit card. I decided to email her, and she still didnt respond. When I spoke with the rental agency, they said they spoke with her and got everything taken care of. I emailed her to thank her for responding to the rental agency and she emailed me back and said no problem. Its a shame she only emails when she receives a compliment. This is the worst claims adjuster I have ever seen. She didnt even have the decency to let me know the status or that she took care of the problem. I think the insurance company should train their employees on how to be professional. Im so glad I have a good insurance company. I hope others read these complaints before proceeding with this company.

As soon as it was reported Anchor General contacted me and walked me through the steps Ive not only getting my car repaired, but also in providing me with a rental car for two and a half weeks while my vehicle was in repair... There were no additional costs... They seem to genuinely care about my situation... Thank you Anchor General!!!

Accident Happened 01/07/2019. I was involved in a rear end collision on interstate 5. The driver responsible has Anchor Insurance. It took Anchor over a month to admit fault but I have not received any settlement so far. My vehicle was totaled and sent to a tow yard accumulating fees. Anchor never came out to inspect the damages. Its been almost 2 months, and only received 1 email from Anchor admitting fault. I dont know how Anchor insurance can legally run a business like this!
I called to get my policy emailed to me and she was so kind about sending it over to my email. She had great customer service and she was understanding.

My auto pay was not transfered when my policy auto renewed and my insurance was canceled without my knowledge before the accident happened. The other drivee was uninsured and fled after a short questioning from me. Thanks to this companys mistake i have to pay out of pocket for repairs so far estimates are in the $4000 range.
Was involved in a accident at 04/13/19, I call in to file a claim and was told that someone would call me and an estimator would come to check the car, buy no phone calls or no estimator. Fast forward 1 month past by, still patiently waiting for a call from the insurance, then decided to call and finally they looked into the claim and did nothing too and i was told that it was my job to call the other insurance or party to check on their claim. Like really, thats why I have insurance for a reason, I thought you guys was suppose to be the expert. Just pure stupidity and even my the check cant even cash.
This is the absolute worst insurance company Ive ever come across. Too bad you cant give them 0 stars. I dont know how anyone has given them positive feedback. If you want horrible customer service, unreasonable delays, failure to conduct a complete investigation and deceptive practices then Anchor General Insurance Agency is the one for you!
Anchor General Insurance is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. Their insured hit me from behind while getting change to buy some tacos. The adjuster has a stank attitude-her name is Cynthia. Her direct Supervisor never returned my calls. I had to get another Supervisor to send me the estimate. The real joke is, I took my car to a reputable collision company and even the manager laughed at the 320.00 estimate they gave me...a whole 900.00 dollars less than they quoted. You can’t buy the paint to paint my car with their estimate. Horrible!!! I’m stressed out.
They keep raising my insurence every month. I paid my December payment then I changed my deductible from $500 to $1000. Not only did it go down only $10 but they charged me for December again and spread that payment out over the next 6 months. I would not recomend this insurence agency to anybody.
They don’t do there job right or not at all! They also raise up there payment at a bad price.
This insurance is a complete joke. I can’t pay my bill on my phone android or iPhone because they don’t support it on their website and if you call to make a payment it’s an additional 8 dollars. What kind of company doesn’t support iPhone or Android to make a payment. Or at least have an app to make it convenient to their customers? Absolutely joke!!!
NOT GET THIS INSURANCEThe prices are alright; in addition, you can find cheaper prices somewhere else. The problem with this company is they have poor customer service. Every time I call, it takes 20-30 minutes to talk to anybody regarding to anything. The representatives are very rude. They dont try to help you or make things a lot easier. Even when I speak with a manager or supervisor, the situation doesnt get settled.I am a huge person on customer service. When I am at work, I treat people how I want to be treated. Whoever works in customer service knows thats what they were trained for. If someone cant do their job right, they should find another job that fits there personality.
Zero stars for this insurance. I have paid the premium for four years and when I finally needed the coverage they deny my claim. I had full coverage and uninsured motorist and on top GAP. I thought I was fully covered for when the worst happened. I was rear ended and my car was not safe to drive, it was towed at the scene. I was not at fault. The other driver had no insurance coverage on the date of the accident. Yet uninsured motorist was denied. Their excuse was that I use my car for business. I am not an Uber driver, or deliver pizza or transport people. I am a hospice social worker. My co-workers have gotten in accidents and they have the same personal policy as mine with different insurance companies and their insurances covered their damage. These people at anchor general take your statements when you are at your worst and use what you say against you. They try to make it seem like they are going to support you but they don’t. I didn’t even get an adjuster to take a look at my car. Now I am left paying a car that is not drivable and will cost more to fix than the value of the car. Basically, this insurance will not do anything for you other than write denial letters. Even if after reading all of these horrible reviews, you choose this company, I encourage you to read all the small print on your policy, and never never give a recorded statement without speaking to an attorney.
This company is a cheap and horrible company. Save the stress and do not hire this company. I am trying to file a new claim and they put me on hold for like 20 minutes having to hear the wait music and this computer voice that repeatedly says, I know your time is valuable, please hold for the next available agent which amounts to torture. I finally get to speak to a human and they put me on hold again. This companys customer service is garbage. Their computer voice amounts to torture.
Is ok for the price. But they take a very long time to pay you out when youre involved in an accident
Wish i could give them 0 stars. I apparently have their full-coverage but when I got rear-ended (completely not my fault) they expected me to shell out $1,000 to fix damage that was way under that amount. And my adjuster will not answer my phone calls or return any of my messages. Whatever you do, DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Pay the extra $100 a month, trust me- you will be happy you did.
Horrible horrible horrible!!!!!!! This company was under investigation in 2005. I do not recommend to anyone. Many have filed bbb.They should not be in business. So many complaints have been filed. I suggest mercury insurance always very responsive. Do your thorough research on this company. Do not have any business with them.
Turning on my turn signal to make a left crossing 1 lane that was opposing traffic to enter into a parking space legally. Driver came up behind me and decides to pass into oncoming traffic and hits me. Anchor denied for 2 years fighting the claim and they won. Even though the s***** driver was 100% at fault based on Police Report. How is this possible that someone crossing into oncoming traffic and hitting another vehicle is not at fault? Literally worst and most shady insurance company around! I will be contacting my attorney to file a lawsuit against them so that no one else gets treated unfairly by them anymore! YOU WILL BE SHUT DOWN!
HORRIBLE! A SCAM!!! Sister got a small scrape by another car doing an illegal u turn. We had full coverage. 3 months went by and all that was done was transfer me. I gave up after the fourth month and switched to State Farm which is $5 more. Later on this year we got into a small fender bender and State Farm gave us a rental and also fixed our car in about a week! A week!!! And we didnt have to do anything just sign. Anchor general is so quick to collect payment but will either disappear when u need them or take their time to repair your vehicle. I never leave reviews but I hope this review will not only save someone money but time. Anchor general is a scam! Please!!! Dont fall for them as I did. Go ANYWHERE ELSE!!! ANYWHERE!!! Even behind an alley!!! Anywhere is better than ANCHOR GENERAL!!!!!
Scam. 100% Scam do not use them. Went through a broker that the car salesmen recommended and Im fairly certain that he was in on it because when I called to confront them about my terrible coverage they already knew that it was bad before I even said anything. Then when I tried to cancel it and go through a different insurance company they only gave me back $77 of the $260 I had paid and I only had the insurance for 6 days.
No comments, just an awful company period. Take your money and run!!!. They deserve no star but I had to put one to warn you all to stay away.
It’s a shame we can’t modify our own policies. We wanted to add a vehicle but there was no option to do it online. No information on how to do it so I just ended up calling the customer service number.

Was on hold for a while 30 mins !! Got on the phone with someone they hung up . They said “hold on” and it hung tight up. It’s the worst so far. The website doesn’t accept iPhones so you can’t use their website if you have a iPhone Zz everything and everyone is unprofessional.

If someone ever hits your vehicle and has Anchor General as an insurer, you might as well consider yourself screwed over. Unbelievable slow adjusters, and extreme lack of communication with the claimant. I’ll be contacting my attorney in accordance to this company for the lack of professionalism, and the times it’s consumed. Beware which adjust you get, supervisor or not, they can be very rude and snappy.
I got insurance for my car and they said there is no cancellation fee in future when i cancel my policy they sent me cancellation fee after 6months after 1 year they put me on credit collection services.
