Had my daughter enrolled at Powerhouse for almost 4 years. Every time I would pick her up from class she would complain about doing the same skills over and over. We saw improvement when we finally switched gyms. They also provide no makeup classes regardless of excuse(quarantine/COVID) unless you have a note from a physician then they’ll consider it. Pathetic.

I would like to preface this by saying that i believe all reviews are biased, even so-called “honest” ones. it hardly seems objective when you have some investment in a company you are trying to salvage from negative PR.my niece was at this gym for several years and i kept telling my sister to get out.it all started years ago when my dad was discriminated against because he’s a male. he was given unfair treatment as a paying parent. people reported him because he would record his son and granddaughter (that he paid tuition for). i understand that she was like five at the time with others around her age. but if other parents are able to record their kids, why would he not be granted the same privilege?my niece was at the gym for years with only minimal progress, even though she was doing to practices, participated in the homeschooling program, and had private lessons there.then, the coach had a very unprofessional public outburst with my sister. after an attempt to resolve and move on (with only the owner present because coach didn’t/wouldn’t attend the meeting), my niece was heartbroken to have been kicked out due to an issue that the adults could have easily resolved, but the owner instead had a my-way-or-the-highway attitude. they (inappropriately and probably illegally) refused to let my sister watch my niece (a minor) practice from the stands, right along where other parents where watching. they kicked my niece out because my sister wouldn’t leave the practice.

Breaking little kids dreams over disputes of a parent wanting to be at practice. Child has been with y’all for years and you kick her out like no tomorrow. Ugly you should be ashamed of yourself.You talk about it. You work it out. For the kids. Be better next time.

My daughter loves it here, the coaches are kind, helpful, and welcoming, the staff really feels like a team. I love supporting places who curate a healthy work environment for their employees. Weve never had one issue over our years here. Theyre the perfect place for parties too!

Shameful to run an organization where the staff is untouchable when they make mistakes and treat customers and the children poorly. Having the attitude of we always have our employees backs is counter productive to improvement and actually scary to think about. To not even look into complaints and assume staff is never at fault is both delusional and ignorant. Fyi: customer and staff turnover is neither good either way, but stating that having a higher turnover of customers than staff is not something to be proud of and should not be compared.Do better. Dont bother trying to reach out, just take the L like you force your customers in the same manner.Money > Customer service is their priority.Go elsewhere.

My girls have been here for about 8 months. I haven’t had any issues here and I’m hoping to have their birthday party here soon! The instructors are very good and professional.

Its Sunday evening and first time attending a Birthday Party 🎈🎉🎂 for my granddaughter at a gym. The party hosts were hospitable. Very nice and helpful. Reserved from 6 to 8 pm. About One hour and 15 minutes of gymnastics play. Parents can leave their child at the party or stay and observe from the balcony. Towards the end of the gym time, parents can come down to take pictures. Afterward, head to the room where its birthday party 🍕, 🍰, and presents time. The kids had a great time.

We have been a part of the PHG family for over a decade. Our son and daughter had learned gymnastics from multiple coaches throughout the years. This company has always been a professional and outstanding organization. If there were ever any issues, they were addressed in a courteous and professional manner. I would highly recommend PHG to family and friends.

Want to give 0 stars! Extremely unprofessional. Coaches do not know how to communicate to not only the children (that they are there to teach and coach), but also to the parents! It’s ridiculous! What is the point of paying all the money on if you’re just going to be disrespected. Also It is not okay to take your anger out on the little kids you coach!

A coach named Jill treated a little girl and her mother unfairly and acted unprofessional. Sat her out for no reason, let other moms watch their daughters practice, except for her.

Been going for about 3 months.I like it

This place is a horrible!! We had to pull our child out and they are charging us almost $400! We brought back her uniform that was used once and she would give only give partial credit. They are charging us for choreography even though had a replacement for her. Also $15 A WEEK in late charges...the whole thing they want us to send the reminder to a personal CashApp..sounds fishy huh! This place is costly, unprofessional, and I would definitely not recommend! They do not pay attention to the some of girls, they have their favorites, and their choreography is not even great! DO NOT GO HERE!! I promise waste of money!

Our whole family LOVES TNT Powerhouse. The staff is so polite and helpful. They are very clean inside and outside the building. They are very professional and they strive to make sure your kids are truly learning something. We love our daughters coach, Coach Megan. She is so kind and patient and works with her, and the whole class individually, till she (they all) get(s) it. We make sure to tell everyone about this place, when they ask where our daughter goes. Truly the best place to go to learn how to do gymnastics.

Powerhouse is an overwhelmingly large and clean facility with what seems to be an opportunity to grow as an athlete in every corner. This company offers a variety of gymnastics classes (artistic, XCEL, TNT, boys, etc.) for kids of all ages (starting with toddlers - all the way to teenagers). Theres also some of the best equipment available here and plenty of it! The staff is friendly and educated, too! We love Powerhouse!

My daughter has been going here for 2 years now and although the coaches have been decent, I’m over the parking situation. People are constantly holding up traffic and the one time I sit and wait for a spot because I have my 1 year old with me, I get told to move, causing me to park across a busy street. The only reason we’ve last this long is because we will be leaving San Antonio soon. They really need to look into expanding their lot to accommodate the amount of classes they offer.

My daughter,10 and son, 4 go to Powerhouse and they love it. My daughter is on the girls gymnastics team and she has amazing coaches who show they care and are loving. She has not only improved physically but also mentally, emotionally and is encourage to do well outside of gymnastics also. My son is in the Mothers Day Out program and he has gained a lot of knowledge in his basic academics and loves doing gymnastics. The staff are so caring and make Powerhouse feel like a family place to go.

My daughter is enrolled here and she absolutely loves it! In just a month I can see how much better she has gotten and how much more control she has of her body while doing gymnastics. She adores her coach, coach Jasmine! The staff is very friendly. There is an upstairs for seating if parents want to stay to watch over their child, which I personally love. There are snacks and drinks you can purchase. Also, a store with Powerhouse shirts along with other clothing, toys & various items. It’s very clean & professional. Worth the monthly price!

My daughter is in the Hip Hop dance class and loves it! She’s been doing it for a couple of months and looks forward to going every week. Ashley, the instructor is great and really gets the girls excited about dancing.

Great gym! Our daughter has been here for about a year and a half and her coordination and self-confidence has approved immensely. Ms. Sabrina is an amazing coach! Ms. Rachel is also great with our daughter in their after school program. The new facility is also very nice and spacious!

I absolutely love everything about powerhouse gymnastics. My daughter has been going to powerhouse and she was two years old and its been nothing short of a wonderful experience. The staff are so friendly and they genuinely care about every kid that comes in the gym and treat them like their their own. I will tell everybody whos interested in gymnastics to go to powerhouse because of the quality of service and also quality of coaching they provide to all of the children. We had been going there since they were in their old location and now seeing their new location its just breathtaking. They have the best equipment and best coaches in San Antonio.

This gym is incredible and the coaches are second to none. Our daughter joined the gym during our vacation so she could continue to grow skillset. The gym welcomed her like she was a part of her team and the coaches worked with her like she was one of their own. Their generosity speaks to the integrity of the gym. Now, my daughter wants to move here and be coached by Coach Carlos! Thank you all for an amazing day experience!

My daughter absolutely loves her coach. It is nice to be in a place where they are actually learning how to master many techniques. So far it is money well spent. However, I wish team was more affordable.

Awful customer service! Three of my children have gone to Powerhouse Gymnastics throughout the last 16 years. Up until today I was happy with the business. The front end people specifically Tanya and the Finance Manager could use some classes in customer service. I was charged for multiple months after cancelling classes and told that they would not refund the months after the cancellation despite being told by their employee they would take care of it. When I originally called, I asked when calling if I needed to sign something and that representative told me no she would take care of it. When I explained this to Tayna she stated we would have never said that. I own two successful businesses. I am aware of customer service and what that means to a business.

We have been at Powerhouse in classes for almost a year and attended open gym for longer than that. I have one daughter in Cheerleading and one in gymnastics, cannot say enough good things about this gym. We are very happy with the growth we see in our kids and the skill progression!! Great facility!

The facility is clean bright and open with very clean bathrooms. Its huuuuuge with multiple floors and tons of equipment. Theres a nice coca cola themed snack bar and the coaches arent a bunch of high schoolers. It also doesnt smell like feet...extra star for that. The viewing area is great with lots of visibility. Great communication as well.

My child loves Powerhouse TNT! The staff, coaches, and instructors are very awesome and take very good care of the kids. I would recommend Powerhouse to anyone who is looking a for a place to get their children into gymnastics or are looking for holiday break or summer camps.

Very genuine people who care about kids and are passionate about gymnastics. All 4 of my kids have attended classes ages 3,6, & 10s and have a great time with the coaches and classes. They also have a Fun Friday which allows parents to drop off kids for a few hours on Friday so that parents like me can get a date night. When I pull my son from his class he cries that he doesnt want to leave. I recommend this place.

We attend the open gym on Mondays and its a great place for the little ones to roam and play in the heat of the day while learning social skills and sweet moves!

My daughter has been attending Powerhouse since we moved here 9 years ago. She was in 1st grade when she started a beginner artistic class, and is now a level 9 gymnast...and a coach at Powerhouse. She has developed friendships that will last a lifetime, confidence that is rare in teenaged girls, amazing relationships with all of her coaches and a passion for the sport. This place is a second home for my daughter, my son and myself and the owners are among the most caring, genuine people I know.

The coaches are great. My daughter has been in classes a few weeks already and I see tons of improvement with her strength and knowledge of gymnastics. My dissatisfaction doesn’t come with the gym or the coaches. Rather than the front desk staff. Tonya and JoAnn are great but Andrea seriously has the worst attitude I’ve ever experience with someone who works at a front desk. Front desk staff are the introduction to a business. They set the tone for customers and to come in and talk to someone who has such a condescending tone, SUCKS. you ask questions and she answers them like you’re dumb as a rock. Her tone and attitude seriously need a check. I even sat back and tried to see if I was being sensitive and I’m not. She talks to every customer this way. Rude, short, condescending. If you can’t be a people person, don’t work front desk. You’ll get dumb questions, people asking for too much, complicated parents, ETC. this woman seriously needs to a customer service lesson.

Not a fan. We’ve gone to a few different open play times at other gyms and love them so much more. First half of the gym was off limits because they were having classes. Some of the things in the “open” area were off limits and you only found out what was off limits by having an attendant run up to your kid and tell them to get off. I actually saw one attendant grab a kid by the arm because he was running on the trampoline the opposite way he was supposed to. Only one of the people working in the open area was actually polite, the rest seemed younger and didn’t seem to care for kids very much. Overall I was really disappointed with how rude some of the attendants were.

Funny how employees that work here are giving 5 star reviews cmon google SEO for instance the review below mine is a relative of an employee. Scroll down a little further and you can correlate names to there website of listed employees. Not to say I wouldn’t want my child on this side of town anytime after 5.

I love working with PowerHouse. The facility is so clean, the owners make every single one of their athletes, staff, and parents extremely happy. When I first came to PowerHouse I was on the cheer team and fell in love with the way powerhouse is. I soon started working there and I love working with my kids, and seeing the smiles on the kids faces when they get a new skill or accomplished a skill. Its an amazing feeling and I wouldnt trade it for the world. Powerhouse is such an amazing place to be. I love the staff, and I love being on the team. I truly recommend Powerhouse to anyone, and everyone. I not only represent Powerhouse as a coach, but as one of their athletes. I have been an All-Star cheerleader for 11 years, I have never been to a gym like Powerhouse. I love everything about the facility. 100% recommend. Im proud to say Im part of the PowerHouse family 💖

My daughter has only been at powerhouse for three weeks. I am already unhappy with the amount of time the coach spends one on one with her. The first week the coach wasnt there and the last two weeks the coach spent a small amount of time with her. For example my daughter was rolling backwards on a Wedge Ramp, the coach helped her twice. Then afterwards my daughter did it by herself and she kept falling off the ramp. The coach was not paying attention to what my daughter was doing. I am going to give it a little bit of time but so far I am not happy with powerhouse.

They built a new facility but put all their old worn out equipment into it. The mats are worn out to the point that my kid would sink into the mat almost down to the floor when she had to do a roll. You can even see it in the photos they have of the gym on the website. The owners grandchild had his foot get caught in a tear in one of the mats and he broke his leg. Another kid fell into the pit under a trampoline because it wasnt properly covered. That kid dropped about 6 feet into a concrete hole. Safety concerns were the #1 reason we left.My child was in the MDO program which was really just a lackluster babysitting service.The coaching staff has little training and they seem very unhappy with their jobs even though they paint on a smile during pick up and drop off. Most of the coaches look like they just rolled out of bed and threw on some yoga pants then went to work. Its just not very professional.

This place is an absolute joke and maybe the newer loaction has gotten to their heads. We have attended tumble bear previously and enjoyed it very much. This past time not at all. We were hoping to enroll my 3 children in classes but not after today. There is no consistent routine it’s just a little her and there. Numbers and flags might be great way to show kids what can be used and what is available. Coach Megan was extremely condenseding and rude to me when I suggested there be signs for flow directions on the obstacle course. I don’t think being authoritarian is the best approach for interacting with 2 and 3 yr olds. The front desk staff was extremely rude as well. I guess if you’re not frumpy they don’t know how to be kind. There is equipment all over the floor and not set up safely for small toddlers. Small children are learning impulse control and about taking turns and sharing. A lot of stimalution for small bodies and brains to process. The older girls practicing on the other side looked miserable I didnt notice one smile. There was not one teacher that was warm or lively towards any children. They barely say hello but if you dare go the wrong way or if your older homeschooled child does a cart wheel while helping with the littles she is told not to as well as to not touch the equipment. Use your money and take your kids to the zoo or a different facility. It always confuses me when people working with children aren’t friendly or outgoing. Maybe a call center would be better or stocking shelves at night where there is minimal interaction with kiddies would be more appropriate for most of these women. I don’t know how it’s possible to not smile at small children. Spreading cheer and joy goes a lot further than weird looks and stares. Sorry about your hard lives!

I have been at Powerhouse since I was 3 I love it so much you know you have been at a gym to long when you see a mat you love be put together then being put into repairs we have all new equipment like the trampolines are all new except for two that are in amazing condition the coaches make you feel like family

My son has been going to power house for going on six months now. The teachers are all very well rounded in gymnastics skills. Coach Brooke is amazing with my son and has been very personable and easy to speak with thus far. They have quarterly progress reports that are given to students to assess their progress on skills taught. The Gym also has open gym times for the children that are under the age of six to go practice skills . Its only 5$ per child. Its fun and affordable! The only draw back I have seen was that as a teacher I was not impressed by MDO work sheets. The students are at different ages and stages but all seem to get the same work. My child is 3yrs. and was tracing on work sheets for 5yrs. (smaller print than for children who are 3 can manipulate using fine motor skills for their age /stage), but other than that....The staff has been great, the gymastics lessons are moving my son forward, He is growing in his physcal skills and with social skills. Also class ratios are small 1-5, altogether power house gets an A. from me. :)

My son has been going to MDO for almost two years he loves it! The staff and coaches are very sweet and caring! Love them all! I checked out a couple of places that offer MDO and for the same price I would rather my son learn a little tumbling and burn off some energy that all boys are made of! Wild and crazy and full of energy that MDO POWERHOUSE CATERS TO! I wouldnt have it any other way! And looking forward to putting my youngest it here next year!

Employees look sloppy and are very unorganized/ unprofessional when approaching owner he had a very strong temper. Parking lot is also very crowded and somewhat unsafe children always outside unaccompanied

Love the gym! Hate the parking! For the size of the gym you would think they would have made it bigger.

My 7/8 year old was enrolled for 6 months and didnt learn a thing. After watching her each week, I realized that she spent 25 minutes stretching, then the last 25 mins were waiting in lines to use equipment or one on one time with the coach. They always called in the kids 5 minutes late and kicked them out 5 minutes early. You have to pay a ridiculous application free each full year you complete and the price of tuition keeps going up from what I see. Getting in and out of the parking lot is a nightmare. The waiting room is always packed with Moms talking about TMI topics while their kids run around screaming and banging on vending machines. It is too dumpy for what you pay for. Hopefully their new building wont get so trashed. Some of the coaches themselves seem to know what theyre talking about while others look like all theyve ever flipped were cheeseburgers into their mouths.

I am very upset that my 5 year old son did not eat lunch because no one helped him find his nuggets. He was there at the camp 8 hours and no one could see that he wasn’t eating or drinking. That’s horrible!!!!!
