1st time visit with a friend who recommended their shrimp pasta dish, which Paisanos is well known for. I opted for the spicy red fish and pasta. It did not disappoint. Complimentary bread basket came with 3 options. Our favorite was the fruit bread. The olive bread pared well with the white wine. Our server was efficient and so friendly. I wish I wouldve gotten her name. The restaurant itself was clean and welcoming. Notes staff wearing their mask properly as well.
🌟 My girlfriend and I went out on a date 9-10-2021 My ohhh myyy! It was everything and more. Her and I like to try every Italian restaurant we can. This one in particular is now in my top picks. There was no wait to be seated, our Waitress was on top of it, the Bartender did an incredible job on our cocktails, and the food was superb. My compliments to the Chef, Bartender, and Waitress🍸
The food at this restaurant is very very good. Prices are a bit high for the amount of food you get on your plate but good flavor. The wait staff are extremely busy and try to take care of their tables. We ran out of drinks more than once and it took a while for the waitress to get us refills. Wait time for 2 on a Saturday night was around 10 mins. We will visit again.
We went to this place to have a retirement dinner. Everyone here did such a great job; to include the manager, the cooks, and the servers! I truly believe we could not have had this event at a better place! I and everyone that was there had such a great experience at your restaurant. The AV system was great, the tablecloths were phenomenal, and the tables were set up just perfect. I will tell you that even the menus had a special event written on that in honor of the person retiring! I cannot thank the whole staff enough for the great experience, event, food, and most of all customer service that you gave to all of us! There is one person that I want to recognize that couldnt have made this event any better and is truly the best person that made this all happen: Trisha - Thank you for everything!
Nice spot close to the golf course. Great service. Various breads all of them very tasty to start off. The cabonara was good but the big pieces of ham made it super salty. Maybe smaller pieces and less would help. The seafood fettecini was really good, scallops shrimp and clams in a wine sauce, couldnt eat all of it. Was still good as leftovers too. Overall everyone seemed to enjoy their dish and we all had leftovers. Oh the caprese salad was good but small portion seems 4 would be better for the price. And the calamari was good the steaks were meaty and cooked perfectly, but for the large portion maybe two cups of the marinara, one did not go far for such a large helping.
I ordered the Orange Roughy with the lemon and garlic sauce plus angel hair pasta and added a Paesano Shrimp for $3.95. Also upgraded to the Cesar salad which comes pre-dressed. Those are some jumbo shrimp! I wish the description would have mentioned they were battered as I am not a fan of that preparation technique. Mind you that batter was thin, but still not to my liking. It was my first time trying Orange Roughy. The texture was thick/dense almost like cod. It was also a battered filet. Again not a fan, but not their fault. The sauce was very light, but delicious. Not overly powerful, but a must if you enjoy lemon and garlic overall. The pasta was cooked to perfection. I honestly have no complaints. Our server was knowledgeable and patient with our party. As it was the first visit for our group we had lots of questions. She was happy to answer them and offer suggestions, recommendations plus her favorites about their dishes. It could be that the Blackberry Old Fashioned I ordered smoothed everything over as well. It was smooth and delicious. All things considered I left there very satisfied. I will be back to try a few more dishes 😋
The food was decent though some of it needed some more flavor. The management needs to be mindful of their wait staff. A new waitress should be at least shadowed by an experienced waiter/waitress. H
This restaurant has some of the most delish Italian dishes. Their waiters and waitresses are very savvy serving all their customers to the best of their ability. I also have to add that they have delicious desserts, you have to order when you place your lunch or dinner orders because it takes about 15 or 20 minutes for them to prepare you the most decadent desserts they offer. Come by and have lunch or dinner, you’ll experience a delightful and very different dishes that are so very distinct to any other Italian venues.
The food wasnt really that good the service was good dont think well be going back.
Reliable, old standby. Same crowd thats been coming since 1998.The menu is fine, but its the plethora of off menu items that I keep coming back for.
Great place to go for an upscale happy hour. Great stiff drinks and food. Calamari was not really that good but it was an inviting atmosphere. Waiters really try hard here.
The wait staff was AMAZING!!! Went to celebrate my daughter’s birthday on a week night. They allowed us to reserve a table for 12. We brought our own cake to the restaurant. Without asking, our Waiter took the cake out of our way and off the table. He held it somewhere else for us. When we were ready for the cake, the Waiter put candles on the cake for us and lit the candles for us! Then the Waiter took the cake to the back, cut the cake for us and served us slices on plates! He bagged all our leftover food for us as well! We has the most amazing wait staff! I wasn’t sure what kind of sweet red wine my waiter gave me but after the first glass was done I asked another gentleman if he would bring me another glass of sweet red wine, I told him I wasn’t sure what it was. This gentleman brought me a glass of sweet red wine, waited for me to taste it, then asked if that was ok. I said yes! Sorry I’m going on and on but seriously, the BEST, BEST SERVICE by everyone! It was a busy, night and the staff was so attentive and wonderful! They were hustling while being attentive at the same time! I definitely recommend this restaurant! The food was AMAZING TOO!
Drove from Spring to have dinner. Snapper and Shrimp paesano is worth the drive. We prefer the Lincoln location for quality of food, service and ambiance. It was a little crowded for Covid but they got us a table with some distance. Service was spectacular. One of our favorites.
Love, love Paesanos best chicken parmesan, and shrimp paesanos is a must. And if you are in the mood for dessert get the souffle. This was are go too Italian restaurant when we lived in San Antonio. Moved to Austin 8 years ago and still come to Paesanos at least twice a month. Friendly staff and delicious food.
Reasonable prices, great food and customer service.
Can not wait for a return trip. Excellent service and great food.
My mother-in-law was visiting from Austin, so we went to this lovely restaurant. At great service very good food except for the muscles. As you can see the picture I would be embarrassed to serve these they are so freaking small, LOL. I had the lamb osso bucco and it was amazing my wife has a lasagna and it was outstanding, and my mother-in-law had the shrimp that they specialize in there with that amazing sauce. We will be back but I would do something about those muscles. Thank you again
Excellent dinner with my aunt and uncle. Next time Im in town I would absolutely come here.
The ravioli was absolutely disgusting! I threw it away! It was over cooked and there was some water left over from them overcooking it! Barely any marinara sauce! For the price I paid for the food, I would definitely NOT recommend! I make better pasta at home! The bread was gross too! I would have enjoyed a Whataburger much better and not spent $88 dollars for 3 meals and 2 desserts!
Food was okay, prefer the one on the Riverwalk, daughter ordered food with no sauce only cheese and was told there would be a extra charge for cheese even though she wasnt told that before asking for no sauce. The waitress did tell her if we came back they will charge us but this time it was taken care of. Didnt like her attitude about it but I really had no time to speak with manager as we were leaving town. I will no doubt return to this location.
Fabulous as always...going early to avoid a crowd is the best❣Colossal Calamari melt in your mouth❣♥️
Great food and service, Ceasar salad lacked any cheese but maybe thats the way serve it and usually Italian Restaurants serve bread with the meal. I was with a large party so maybe that was the reason. I should have asked.
Love eating here for special occasions. They have a fantastic gluten free menu for those who desire it (make sure to ask for thw menu when being seated). Always great service and the food is consistently wonderful. We will always keep coming back.
Ive been to both locations, both great, but this one is the best. The Grand Marnier souffle is what sets this location apart for me. Its AMAZING
The lighting was a bit dark for an afternoon meal, and the enclosed glass area was not available, despite the low occupancy at the time (145p on Thursday). The temperature was perfect...no sleeves needed. Our server was splendid and the food was tasty, hot and exactly as described (by waiter and menu).
Thank you for making our friends 50th anniversary dinner such a success.Get the apple dessert... superb.
Service was good but food was pretty bad. The salads that came with the main dishes were literally just lettuce tossed in too much (mediocre) dressing. The soup tasted like bland hot corn starch water. The Shrimp Diavolo sauce tasted just like a bottle of Tobasco was dumped into a jar of marinara and was incredibly spicy! Almost too spicy to eat. There was no point in addressing the server about it because for all intents and purposes the food was delivered properly, albeit made with bad recipes.Id persuade a friend to go elsewhere.
This was my first time at paesanos in Lincoln heights. I was very surprised at how quick our appetizers and drinks were given to us. I wish I remembered the name of our server but she was very sweet and attentive. We were a party of 10 and they made accomodations for our big party. The food was delicious (I had the chicken marsala) the seafood Alfredo was very good. For dessert I had the chocolate bread pudding. Omg heaven. Very good.
My son wanted to try Paesanos for his birthday! We had excellent service and the food was GREAT! My husband got the lasagna and said it was the best he’s eaten. I had the stuffed salmon and it was awesome! If you’ve never eaten calamari you need to try there’s first. It’s the best, you’ll know what good calamari is trying theirs first.
We were immediately seated upon our arrival, close to our reservation time. The food was EXCELLENT!!!! The Prosecco in our Aperol spritz was fantastic as well. Our service was both fast and friendly, and we all enjoyed our various meal selections. Highly recommend the cheese ravioli and veal meatballs. The 1 “con” would be the house salad. It is literally just lettuce and dressing. A few croutons, some cheese, carrots, or olives would’ve been nice additions.
Feel like a little bit of Europe in old SA, glad they survived the latest plaque ! Food not bad too
Stop just stop. It’s just terrible food . I read the reviews and thought I have to try this place . The salad was drenched in dressing you couldn’t even see the salad, that’s not how salads should be served . Had the lobster endive again it was drenched in a sauce where you could not even tell you were having lobster . You should be able to taste the lobster ! Waited for entree a red snapper, with anticipation, finally looking forward to the meal I came here for but it was not meant to be, there was nothing unique about the marinara sauce and talk about bland the spaghetti served on the side with marinara was just yuck . Why are the reviews so good ?! Save yourselves the trouble there are much better options for good meals in the area . Paesanos. Is not it !
Shrimp just a little chewy, skimpy on the Paesano sauce.. and the lasagne could have been sizzling hot.
Wife got the special and I got the shrimp Paesano. It was so good. Their bread with nuts and raisins is to die for.
If you want a drink from the bar or even a coffee do not bother! It was my birthday and didnt get my capaccino for at least 20 minutes! Not even a glass of water was on the table. We received bread, ate all of it, had a conversation, noticed we still had not received our drinks, got up and told a guy who said, I am just the wine guy about my ruined birthday. It was not busy. There where 9 tables in the entire building while we where there. Zero excuse. I actually told my boyfriend I wanted to go somewhere else because the service was awful. I needed some thing warm to drink because I have a tough time regulating my body temperature. By the time I got it I was over being there all together. We ordered everything in the beginning but the timing was horrible. My first time ever going there and I cant say I will ever return. Such a let down.
Went here with my wife on Saturday and arrived right when they opened. We were seated immediately and the decor/ambiance of the place was very nice. The waiter came over quick and got our order and drinks. We each started with a ceasar that was a bit basic (especially for an upcharge) and had more of a smokey mayo than ceasar taste. Next we got the giant calamari that were good. Now before we got our entrees we had to wait for 15 minutes after finishing our appetizer. For entrees, I got the lunch size Shrimp Paesano. This was three shrimp served with a side of spaghetti with lemon garlic sauce and green beans. I felt 3 shrimp was a little skimpy for a 18 dollar dish but the sauce was light and delicious. The green beans were very basic. My wife got the lunch size chicken parmesan and enjoyed it, but didnt find it to be anything special.
Very relaxing atmosphere, excellent food but a bit pricey. Superb wine room and selection.
I dont know how to speak Italian but Im convinced that Paesanos must mean perfection. From the friendly and knowledgeable wait staff to the professional and courteous management, the view that the patrons provide is about as delicious as the culinary art that never seems to disappoint. Here you will find spirits a plenty along with smiles sincere. CIAO!
I had always wanted to go there, and it was both mine and my brothers birthday! The garlic butter sauce was amazing, appetizers need to be more generous, all in all it was delicious, with a friendly staff!
The food was excellent, but the service was just okay. Maybe a bit less than okay.I asked twice for a clean napkin, since I had accidently dropped mine on the floor. I never got one. My niece finally went and got one for me. Also, my tea glass was not refilled when I politely asked for one. I just let it go.I will go to Paesanos again and if I receive the same type of service, what with all the good restaurants in San Antonio, I will just go someplace else.
Usually when we go here the food has been delicious up until this past Saturday. We ordered the giant calamari for an appetizer an it was so bland and didn’t seem fresh. Then, my Caesar salad had bad lettuce 😣. We had told the manager an he just seemed annoyed an all he said was he would take care of it, took our plates an just walked away. (By the way he still charged for the appetizer) Honestly don’t think I ever want to go back. Our waiter was excellent though 👍
Lobster fettuccine in chipotle sauce is my all-time favorite dish anywhere in the world
The old menu hasnt changed but the food is still great!
I understand Mother’s Day is busy, this is why I placed my ordered over the phone with three hours in advanced (called at 12pm, asked for a pick up time at 3pm) I also gave my card information over the phone to avoid that hassle of them coming to your car etc. It’s 3:35pm and I’m still in the curbside parking lot with no food and already late for my family’s Mother’s Day celebration. At first they couldn’t find my order, then they brought me the wrong order with someone who had a similar name to mine “Caroline”, they finally found my order but turns our they didn’t took payment over the phone so they had to take payment here, I paid and then they still said 10 more mins!I’m never coming to this place or ordering from here again.
Food was delicious, staff friendly. I will definitely return.
The food was wonderful, and our waitress was exceptional. The major downside was the Cuban music blaring incongruous in an Italian restaurant. I understand if the manager loves Cuban music, but the manager wasnt paying for my lunch. Music much too loud and not suitable for the venue.
Good food. Loved the creme brulee. Next time, Im trying the osso buco.
I felt like I just had a $115 dinner for 2 at Golden Corral! Food was awesome, but atmosphere, noise, service was less than desired. So much for a sterling 5th anniversary dinner. Don’t think we will return.
Great service and food. Waiter was extremely polite and he was not rushy us on our order as we were celebrating a birthday party. Everything was relaxing and birthday girl left Happy.
Food was EXCELLENT AS PER USUAL BUT We were going to tip our curbside server. He was very nice. Good sense of humor. Then IT happened. He walked out with our two bags of food and he walked right by our car and went to go help three other cars before even considering giving us our food. He literally kept our food bags in his hands and we just watched him go from car to car and we were like WHATS HAPPENING? We just didnt understand. After about ten minutes of him chatting about and mingling we got our food but wow...just wow. I put that $10 bill right back in my pocket.
Paesanos has long been a great italian food go to. The Shrimp Paesano has been a favorite for years but they have a great selection of lunch specials. Different one each day. I got the shrimp stuffed salmon with grilled veggies. Excellent and vegies cooked to perfection... crisp. Check it out.
The service was wonderful, the calamari is really good and our entrees were delicious. Definitely coming back again.
I attended a private party lunch of 35-40 people. Everything went perfectly and the 2 waiters made it seem effortlessly.
The food and service were very good..Only 4 stars because the level of noise from the bar made it difficult to have a conversation with the people at our table.
This was the 1st time we went to the Lincoln Heights Paesanos Restaurant and it is NOTHING compared to the other location on Paesano Pkwy. I had spaghetti and meatballs and my husband had the lasagna. It was horrible and nothing authentic about eating sauce that tastes like a can of chef boyardi! Will never come to this location ever again. Shame on them for serving food like that. Great service though. Thats it!
Excellent service great food love the appetizer shrimp love the lobster appetizer the giant calamari Im not too sure about that the restaurant is beautiful clean
HORRIBLE! Our waitress seemed very inexperienced, slow, lost & I told a fellow waiter & a Richard Hey, she needs help - A lot of help to no avail- my Ceasars salad set somewhere - it arrived somewhat wilted - then I had to wait to track down waitress for pepper. All other tables around us got served & they arrived AFTER we did. When complained the little girl said well. The kitchen fills the orders in the order they receive them. My guess is she must have forgotten to submit ours.....otherwise Shrimp Paesano & Margarita were good - wont be back to Quarry Paesano- watch out for little girl w yellow bowtie
Jenna, our server was spot on. A great evening we had.
Went for a large event...40-50 people. The staff was very good and attentive. Food was very good.
Great curbside service and food was delicious.
Good food and the service was good, considering we were a large group.
Place was good in appearance but food is not authentic its commercial not what I expected..I would not recommend..thumbs dowm
OMG... the Shrimp Paesano was delicious! It had been so long since I had it. Really enjoyed it! 😉
Finally got around to trying an italian staple in the SA food scene. Service was great, our server was nice. The complimentary bread wasnt warm, but hey its free.We had the caprese and ceasar as starters, the tomatoes were nice and crisp in the former and though the latter was over dressed it was tasty. The only issue I had was that the Mushroom Raviolis were drowning in a creamy pesto sauce, about 5-10 times what I would normally consume with raviolis. My fiancee had a simple spaghetti with meat sauce, definitely not impressed; the pasta hadnt been cooked with the sauce, the picture I posted was after we mixed it together. The pasta was close to overcooked and the sauce didnt taste all that great.-1 star for food issues-1 star for manager not table touching after our complaint about the spaghetti was raised
If you havent experienced Paesanos, you REALLY need to make this a destination for your next date night or business trip to San Antonio. From the atmosphere to the staff to the food, you are never left wanting.
Great portion size, the calamari is huge! An appetizer, pasta, and salad was enough for two meals. The seafood alfredo was terrific and the shrimp paesano is unbeatable. Cozy atmosphere and friendly wait staff made for a fun relaxing environment. Covid-19 health precautions were in place with spacing and all staff wearing masks.
Service was great as was my caprese salad to which they added three large grilled shrimp. The shrimp could have used a little more seasoning but it was delicious neverthelessClean with covid protocols in placeLooking forward to going back
Good food your paying for the ambiance the food is good can be expensive for Italian food prepare to spend addleast 100 dollars or more for 2 people and one round if drinks no dessert
Always a fantastic experience. Food is always something special.
Not as good as the Riverwalk location, but better than Olive Garden.
OMG it was AMAZING the food was soooooo good David our excellent server recommended a dish with flounder on a bed of spinach topped with shrimp Paesano it was to die for everybody food was so good. I must say it is one of my Fav. places to dine.....love it here
My favorite restaurant. Red snapper Paesanos is EXCELLENT!
Great experience! Great food & service... first time here. Definitely coming back.
Absolutely delicious. The service and the food were outstanding a
Overhyped Italian cuisine, excessive pricing for just ok fare. Not pleased with the speed, accuracy or comprehensiveness of service. Had to repeat orders several times, in addition to flagging down a server. Not recommended.
I’ve been coming to Paesanos for 30+ years and have never been disappointed. Great food, excellent service.
Awesome food, Beautiful flowers and Great service. Every time.
Very nice place the food was really good. The staff was so nice also.
First time for us at this 50 year in San Antonio Italian restaurant. The service was excellent, with staff immediately bringing bread and drinks. They were attentive throughout our meal. That said, for the price range, the house salad was only greens without any additional salad items (I.e. tomatoes, carrots). Disappointing. Italian entrees were ok, but had an ingredient in the sauce that none in our party liked. Most important for us was the noise, with all cement walls and flooring, regular table talk around us was so loud we could hardly hear what we were saying at our table (even though, thankfully, there was no overlying dinner music, like most fine dining establishments). Given the expense, and all above, we wont be back.
First time here for my church meeting. The servers were all nice and were really good about making sure had refills. So since was such a large party we had a menu we had to choose from. The appetizer bruschetta bread with basil tomato and mozzarella was good just needed a dash of salt, special salad was so good there was artichoke avocado tomato making this salad so delicious (side note heard its not on their menu but you can ask for it), and finally I chose the shrimp Paesano as my entree wow was it really good. Initially I did think that the pasta needed more sauce that they did provide but I was really impressed. I would love to go back and try other items on menu.
