After my insurance company made me wait 1 hour and ended up sending a battery jump start, then telling me it’d be another 2 hours before a tow truck arrived, I had enough and called Shield Towing. They had a truck out to me in a bit less than the time estimated and kept in contact while en route to me. Excellent customer service from the dispatcher and the driver. 10/10 hope I never need a tow truck again, but if I did, they are the first one I’d call!

I called Shield Towing in San Antonio last night because one of my family members was in a one car accident. Alex, the person who helped me from Shield, was so polite, helpful, and very caring. I hope I don’t have to use them again, but I would in a heart beat because they are awesome! And thanks, Alex, for being so helpful!

Want to get paid before showing up and I ask it’s don’t make sense they hang up bad business

Was originally told 240.00 for a local pickup and 1 night of storage, never informed that they charged 45.00 a night for storage. was given an address on where the auto would be stored. When my driver showed up the next day to get the auto they were told the auto was not there and no one knew where the auto was.was told 2 days after the auto was picked up it was at a different address. My driver went there 3 days later and again, was told no one knew of the auto and was turned away.Finally was provided a contact person and phone number. Then when my driver showed up I was contacted for an extra 210.00 for another 6 days of storage. Was told they were giving us a 10.00 a day discount and was told they never turned our drivers away.

Shield was the 19th service provider AAA called and they delivered. Even with no contact from me they picked up the vehicle and delivered it exactly as needed. Now thats some can do professional work. Thank you for the job well done.

Well first they freaked out seeing it was a lowlow on air bags and the driver didnt know what to do So after improvising a easy way for him to load it without scraping he was off. When delivered the person at the new location had to help him get it down off the flatbed. Other than that I guess ok..they didnt lose it.

After waiting 30 minutes for the tow truck driver (phone number ending in 9911) I received another call saying there was traffic that prevented him from showing up for another hour. Please be honest with me. I want to trust the people I gave my card information to over the phone. I asked the driver to put my car where I needed it and he refused. I insisted and he refused and offered no reason why he couldnt put it where I needed it despite having several tow truck drivers do this before. He dropped my car off where he decided to put it, clearly blocking other cars from leaving my house. My mom called him and he offered another truck that could arrive in 40min. Its too late for that! We watched the tow truck driver leave the neighborhood while we struggled. I had to wake up my family, after midnight, to push the car to the road I needed it. It was easy when fueled with anger. Please have a serious conversation with this driver. And please be honest with your customer about delays.

They will try their best to make as much money out of you as they can. I was told 45-85$, after accepting they take your card info. Then the driver calls and says it will be 180$. If you try to back out they will still charge you 90$

Used their services for a jump start. Not a great experience Id ever be willing to repeat. Called to request a tech come out and was told someone would call me shortly. 20 minutes later, no call. So I called them and was again told someone would call me in a bit. Finally I get a call from the tech 35 min after the original call trying to confirm my location. (Dispatch gave him the wrong location)He gets there and guess what... He Didnt Have Any Equipment To Jump Start My Car! He said it must have been stolen earlier in the day. I would think equipment would be the first thing you check before heading to a call. So he requests another driver from dispatch. Again I get a call trying to confirm an incorrect location. So finally after an hour and 15 minutes, I am driving again. Good thing I called a shop that was only 4 miles from where I was stranded in hopes of a reasonable turn around time.Geez.

Did not show up for tow when originally scheduled showed up following day and just expected me to drop everything so I would not inconvenience them.

We needed a car moved off of a car hauler onto another hauler. We called them at 4pm to set up the roll back, they gave us a price or $85 to come out and $20 for the roll back and a time frame and took our card info. They said about 30 min. 45 Min had passed, we called for an update and they said their driver was still stuck on another job and it would be another 40 min. We waited another 45 min and called back for an update. The rep then told us that their driver will not be able to make it today but that they found another tow service for $300! That is triple the original quote, they then called back 40 min later and said the truck broke down! We waited for 2.5 hours and they cancelled on us leaving us in the dark with no help whatsoever. Horrible service! do not waste your time, they were brokering our tow, what kind of BS company is this!

Got told it would be one hour on my car towing and if I was not at the vehicle I would be charged $60. I waited two and a half hours with no call from the tow person or Shield themselves had to call multiple times just to get someone to answer charge me $100 immediately but made me wait two and a half hours just for them to arrive let alone get the vehicle where it needed to be. By the way this is only a 3-mile tow to its destination

Would not recommend horrible service. They just rip people off they give you one price and end up charging you another. Very unprofessional also time give that they will arrive not true. They were 30 minutes away when I called ended up arriving 2 hours later.

Great Job!!! My car was in the Parking garage at Lifetime Fitness at City Center, The young guy really helped me by pushing my car down to the 1st level so he was able to get my car safely home!!! Absolutely rude!! I called to ask the rates and he wouldn’t give me a price. He said an additional charge of 59 to get there and then 35-75 once he’s there. And I said what would my small car cost more 35 or 75 additional because I need to make sure I have the money and he hung up on me! That’s sketchy! UNPROFESSIONAL!!! And I’m chill but today I lost my chill!!!!

I needed to tow my car up to the tire shop . The tow truck showed up quickly and Will was very helpful and friendly. As he was leaving he told me to call my insurance company and I may get reimbursed for the tow. I will definitely use them again if I even need another tow .

Shield Towing is a middle person they make money to get you an independent towing company. My advise is go straight to an independent company and avoid the $85 service fee. It took 2 and a half hours to get service. Never again!

Very fast and easy service

These guys are crooks. They charge a $60 non-refundable fee just for them to call an independent towing company on top off the price that the independent towing contractor gives you for the service.

I would not recommend this company. Waited for hour for a driver to call me. Called for an ETA and was told driver was running behind and that a second driver was dispatched. One hour later still no call and when called for another ETA driver was supposedily 15min anyway. 40 min later I called to cancel. Funny enough that was when I got a call from the driver.

Waited over 2.5 hours for them to say yes they will have a tow truck out to me right away! Horrible service and very rude!!!***Beware of their entrapment! They mumble their extra service charge so you dont hear it then they charge you $59 that you were never aware of! But yet the hook up fee they say it VERY CLEARLY! Imagine that! Theyre lucky I dont take them to court over this!

Very quick response! Within :45 minutes of contacting them, they were at my house. The driver was very courteous and considerate, as well as appearing to be very thorough when loading and securing my truck. Ill use them again, and recommend them to friends.

Ordered through USAA, Haniz arrived within 10 minutes and understood the situation. He was able to help me with towing the vehicle back home in a quickly and safely.

Called and was told would have a driver within about half hour depending on traffic. Took an hour and a half for driver to arrive. The tow yard was 5 miles away. And then find out its 134 to go about three miles. Far from impressed so far.

The professionalism of this company is the worst! They told me up to 30 minutes for a tow representative to arrive at my location. After 40 minutes I called their company to find out how much longer they would be. The agent on the phone said it would be another 30-40 minutes. I said that I could not wait up to an hour and a half, and that I would like to cancel my tow. I would figure out anothet way. They said my payment was nonrefundable and I explained the representative I made the order with never said my payment was nonrefundable. I wanted my order canceled and I would not be paying a fee since they never told me it was nonrefundable, their towing driver never called me like I was told he would, and a representative from the towing company never bothered to call me and say their driver got held up at a previous tow. The agent I spoke to on the phone from Shield hung up on me 3 times!! I had to keep calling to make sure I wasnt going to be charged because every time I asked him the gentleman hung up on me!! Do NOT use Shield to tow your vehicle. They do not deserve your money.

Im going to be real honest now overall I was about 99% dissatisfied the 1% was the gentleman was a decent dude, but there are a lot of things I believe he can work on.Number one if you forget to put my van, car, or SUV out of the emergency brake, and therefore pull my tire off the rim, I think you should be willing to fix that, especially if youre going to charge me a hundred and fifty bucks. I believe that I should have gotten a discount, there should have been something to accommodate the job that was done, also I called at 6:30 in the morning no one showed until about 9:30. They over promised and completely under delivered. It was even later than that Im giving them the benefit of the doubt, when I call to ask where the gentleman was they said well he said he was going to call you. Ill give you a call back and check to see where he is. Nobody ever called me back I had to call them back several times I dont believe that this was a $150 worth of work overall I believe it was a waste of money I will call this company back.

Managed to get a jump for car, no terrible there, but further inspection shows a large mismatch in quoted price and actual paid price. Make sure you get an agreement on price explicitly before anything happens and youll be good.

Beware!!!The $59 they quote is a service fee!! Not the cost of the tow. The tow guy said the job was $134 total after the tow was completed. What choice do you have when the driver has completed the job? (Towed less than a block btw) Don’t believe the no hidden fees hype or when the operator says we need a cc to hold the tow. Beyond frustrated.

Not sure what the fuss is about here. Great company, quick service, and affordable. its never fun to get towed, but within 3 min of giving my info they had me all set up.

Ramon is a super friendly guy, very attentive and a life saver. My car over heated on 410 and I was in a bad spot, Ramon just so happen to pass by and gave me a great price. Will use again if needed.

You’re supposed to be a 24 hr service, how is anybody supposed to get a tow if nobody answers the phone? Waited 10 minuets listening to crappy loud music just to have some hope cause it finally starts ringing, waited an additional 7 minuets just to have it hang up on me. So just waisted about 20 minuets of my time when I could of called more helpful businesses that actually answer.

Worst service ever. Do not call them. I called them to jump start my car, they took my cc info, after about 2.5 hours of waiting, I call them to see if they were coming. They said they couldnt come due to construction in the area, but never bothered to call me and let me know. I ended up getting an Uber, who had no trouble getting to my location.

Theyre quick to charge your card.. I was told to give it a 40 min wait, then a 30 min wait, then the driver said he was 15 mins away. That was 30 mins ago. I called the company to see where the driver was and greeted by a complete asshole.. Who felt obliged to talk to me however he wants, AFTER they charged my card. You guys, please use a different towing company.

Worst service ever on the front end. They said my tow truck would be there in 45 minutes. I sat 3 and a half hours. On the upside the guy they called to get me was very very sweet. Phone operator continued to give me false information. When driver finally arrived asked me why I waited so long. SERIOUSLY! Driver did not disclose additional amount that would be charged. Didnt receive a receipt or sign anything. Correctly disputing with my credit card company for the $150 when I was told a very different amount! The should be ashamed to operate a business this way. I used insurance to tow my car. They arrived in 1 hour on a Friday and the driver made me and my daughter feel really safe and comfortable. I was having a bad night obviously because car trouble sucks but the driver made it a little better

My wife and I were on the way home when our rear passenger tire fell off. Shield towing showed up in 15 minutes and were able to accommodate my situation with the right tools. The driver made sure we were safe and got us info the cab of the tow truck because were we on a busy rode.

Said on the phone there’s a $59.99 flat fee plus $40-$80 extra depending on variables. I called to get an estimate for a 5-6 mile tow; told them car wasn’t running (reason for tow obviously). I was expecting $100 as there was nothing special about this tow. Tow truck driver got to the site and said it’s automatically $80 if the car isn’t running. Plus a $25 “convenience fee.” Ridiculous up charge. No transparency with pricing. Ultimately $65 more is not a big deal but this is an awful way to run a business. I am in the car industry and will definitely never recommend this company.

So as soon as we were able to make contact with the tow truck man he showed up and did a wonderful job at making sure that my great grandpa’s truck Was well taken care of

Dispatchers lie the time frame the driver would show. First it was 30 minutes which was good but i really expected 45-60 minutes. after an hour i called NAC and they made direct contact with Shield and gave a 15 minute time frame. 30 minutes passed and i called again and same result 15 minutes. both delays were blamed on heavy traffic. Hey its Fiesta Friday and traffic is minimal. even the corner i was stuck at traffic was light. Finally after 2 hours a driver showed. The driver showed on his phone he was dispatched. So, Shield you guys are not so Marvelous.

I will not use this company, biggest mistake is not reviewing the comments of the customers. Well they did sure lie about the time they were going to pick up my truck even when my family was waiting for after almost 3hrs later, and still charge 134.00 no matter the miles. Oh! excuse me! After the 10 mile radius they charge 134.00 for 10 miles or less then 3 dollars for additional mile, oh yes they gave me a free one mile free bee, because it was 11.2 miles away, thank you! There are other towing companies that will not rip you off, and less expensive! I forgot to check the reviews before getting this one ugh! Regretted not reviewing before shopping! Pls people check out other towing companies I will not recommend this one good luck if you do! !

DO NOT CALL this agency even in desperation. They will first ask for your credit card number before they quote you the price for services. Then they will quote a price which was $89 but failed to mention that this is dispatching fee and the tow truck will charge their additional services fee. Because the other tow agency did not answer their phone first, I had to deal with these crooks. They should be rated only 1 Star.
