I found Sams Auto through a Google search and am SO THANKFUL I DID! My 2008 Prius would not turn on one day and I towed it to Cavendar Toyota. They tried to charge me $700 to replace my key (which they said was non-responsive to my vehicle) before even doing a simple check of my battery to confirm my car didnt need to be jumped. I thought this was super suspicious and called Sam for a second opinion.He confirmed that the dealer was totally ripping me off and suggested I jump the secondary battery before anything else. He was very knowledgable and helpful on the phone, and didnt try to sell me anything or have me bring my car to him. He really just wanted to help me not get taken advantage of by the dealership.Because of this, I immediately brought my car to him and with a simple battery jump it was up and running. He also fixed a few other minor issues at a very reasonable price. I would highly highly recommend him for any Prius issues. He is honest, knowledgable about hybrids, and very reasonably priced. Will be using him for my car needs going forward.

This is my very first review for a mechanic shop. I am not a fan of writing reviews but because Sam has shown me his quality work and service I am propelled to write one.The first, the most foremost, and the most important value in my life is, honesty.Sam upholds that value: honesty.He has a wealth of knowledge about cars and I have no knowledge about cars but he does not take advantage of that. He delivers timely service. The other big branded auto shops charged me more than $100 each visit for little issues. Even an air filter change was $45! When I could have bought the $15 air filter myself and install it on my own. He is not that kind of mechanic that purposely break things in your car so that you can keep coming back to get it fixed. Or a mechanic that tries to tell you that there is more problem than there already is. I am lucky to find a great mechanic. I am now a loyal customer.

WOW! This is the place to take your hybrid. I was told by the toyota dealer my 2012 Prius C needed a new hybrid battery pack and would charge 4000 dollars to replace it.We found Sams thank goodness. Yesterday he spent an hour with my daughter and I showing us how to replace crucial filters that apparently had never been replaced although the dealer said they had. He would not take a penny.We replaced the filters and the check hybrid battery light went off! Sam did tell us that if that did not work the battery would need replacement and his charge would be 1200 dollars.I cannot recommend this place enough! If you are having hybrid battery problems go see Sams.

Called one late evening to get price on getting my control arm done. He asked me if I could take it in for him to check if in fact it was the control arm. Did not charge me to check it and gave me advice on where to get the parts. Once I got the parts he was able to squeeze me in after work and did the job plus replaced cv axle and a lower control arm last minute. Great guy, great service, and great information. He warranties his work and is always helpful. All work done for less than $400Sam specializes in Electric cars and gives those a priority. He is always busy with work, it is best to call and ask if he can work on your car or schedule a day to take it. No cars will be left overnight due to safety and liability.Again, this is the place to take electric cars if anyone is looking for a great mechanic but I appreciate that he took time to check my car, test drive it and work on it.

I don’t usually post reviews regarding mechanics. I haven’t exactly had the best of luck in finding honest, reliable mechanics. HOWEVER, the owner here is incredible. He’s honest, hardworking, and his prices are more than fair. I’m new to the area, and I had been calling around places to help me figure out what’s going on with my husbands a/c-heating unit. Everyone else wanted to charge me upwards of $100 just to LOOK at it. When I called this place and described what was going on, the owner told me a few different things it could be and said he wouldn’t charge me anything to look at it. When I arrived, he did a thorough inspection, provided me a new air filter, cleaned the area around the air filter and a/c motor blower for $25 bucks. $25 BUCKS!!! I am so grateful for people like this... He saved me so much money. We definitely found our new mechanic! Give this place a go!!!

I had a broken radiator fan at 5pm, everyone else I called in the area gave me a several day wait time or didnt answer. Sam answered and told me to bring the car by, diagnosed it immediately, made some phone calls and was able to get the part, and me, back on the road within an hour for a third of the price of the dealership. Honest and kind man, even called me later that evening as I had a long drive to check in on my car. Note he is cash only for his own safety as a small business. Highly recommend, he got me out of a tight spot. Very thankful.

My wife’s Prius was having the dreaded Brake Booster issue. When I called Sam he recommended trying to get the dealer to fix it as it’s been recalled. Unfortunately, the recall had been performed and was gonna cost 3K. Sam did it for 1200 and had it done by the end of the day. Once he was done he explained the work he did, and even talked to me about how to keep up with the car.Great job and would highly recommend.

I normally dont write reviews but for the service I got, I feel I need to spread the word about him. I did not believe the reviews from google about the service at first ( I mean I thought 5 stars was too good to be true( especially with how many he had )). Im from out of town and I needed work on my SUV. He was honest with me on everything and he did not try to get me to pay for services I didnt need. He did an amazing job and at a really good price. I accidentally messed up my Prius, by jumping my car with the wrong terminals attached to the jumper pack. I took it to Sam at Sam’s auto, and the first thing I noticed was how many Prius’s he was working on in his shop. He quickly diagnose the process, and I can’t believe how well he took care of me! Despite having so many cars he was working on already he had it fixed by the next day. And he also charged me a fraction of the cost!! My brother has been going to Sam for over a year, and I’m glad he recommended Sam’s auto to me.

Omg! I cant say enough good stuff about Sam. He was helpful, and honest. My air conditioner went out on my road trip from California to Florida. While I was with friends in San antonio I saw great reviews for his shop and he fixed my car for $140. I told him I thought it was the compressor he said no its just a hose. $1000 vs $150 can you say honest?!

About 3 years ago i went to a mechanic for a sound my truck was making. (2008 Ford F-150). That mechanic gave me a list of several things to fix for 900$. I was weary and started looking for another mechanic. I saw the reviews for this place and decided to try it out because of all the good reviews. Sam found the problem and fixed it, i paid probably less than 300$. I would have spent 900$ + and not even would have had the main problem fixed because that item was not on list from other mechanic. Just recently this past week ago my engine light came on and my truck was misfiring. Took it elsewhere that was closer to my house first and got shell shocked by the amount they wanted to charge me. I took my truck to Sam he immediately found all the issues in about 5 minutes or less no lie. I also saved good amount of money. I appreciated how he took the time on his own without me asking to explain and show me what was wrong with my vehicle. He called me and let me know my truck was ready unlike another location ive been who say they will call you when they are finished and don’t. I know he specializes in hybrids but if he is willing to fix my truck and take my money im willing to go there because he is very knowledgeable,honest and trustworthy and I feel is one of those rare places who go above and beyond for their customers. I was able to tow my car to Sams shop. Within a couple of hours i got a call from Sam personally and he let me know the honest truth about if it was worth fixing my 06 Honda accord hybrid. I love how honest he was and how he was looking out for my best interest! I do HIGHLY recommend this shop. This is the first time I write a review for a mechanic shop and I barely write reviews but when I do, it is when a service truly impresses me Sams Auto Shop delivers an exceptional and honest service.We moved down to SA not too long ago. Our car was a hybrid and we were in search for a good mechanic especially for hybrids. And we found Sam. When we first went there my goals when I look for a mechanic were:-reasonable price-quality car service-honest feedbackSam surpasses all of them. His prices are unbeatable anywhere! He is the owner of the shop and he personally works on your car. He has the equipment and technology too. We dont mind driving 15 miles to go to his shop.He tells you exactly whats wrong with your car, and said that in 3-6 months the car wont be operational and he gave us the option to fix it from the bottom up or the other option to just buy a new car. He even said its not worth it if the price you pay to fix it will be higher than the price we paid for the car. This is when we know he was an honest business man. He didnt even try to sell one of his cars to us. We know for the years to come he will be our mechanic shop that we will go to.Now we got a new car but we are still going to him even if its not a hybrid.He answer all the questions no matter how many I asked. He gives straightforward answers.I wish more people know about his shop. I will continue to spread the word to my families and friends. He deserves all the recognition.

Sam’s Auto repair did an amazing job repairing my ABS pump, I had originally went to another place that was going to charge me over 2800 to fix this problem. Sam was able to do the repair for me at a very reasonable price and saved me a lot of money. I was very pleased with the repairs and services I was given. Sam is an honest and very knowledgeable mechanic. When I brought a Prius to him that I bought a few days earlier, that had the check engine light pop-up, and the engine was shaking, he told me that unfortunately it would be over $1000 to repair it. I was very disappointed to hear the cost and wanted to shop around, he said I was welcome to shop around at other shops but he warned that if I did most shops dont know whats really going on, and will charge me for unnecessary repairs, and often people who do that will come back to him after.Well I shouldve listened because sure enough another shop ended up charging me $800 for a repair that didnt work, and I brought it back to them and they said it was something else that would be $1600 through them, but I ended up having them put the car back together and change the spark plugs for $300, and I repaired the other thing myself for less than $100. And it still didnt fix the issue.I did end up bringing it back to Sams and he was able to fix it like he said. I now trust Sam as my primary mechanic. Also changed my oil for $10 when I brought the supplies to him. Hes awesome.

Diagnostics at Toyota dealer #2 determined need for new ECM, $1400 repair, with no assurance this would fix problem. Called several independent garages, no confidence inspiring conversations. Found positive reviews online for Sams. Drove across town to scout the establishment. Looks can be deceiving. Dont let the appearance of the shop dissuade you. Speaking with Sam gave me the confidence to tow the car across town for diagnostics and potential repairs. Spent a small fortune, but the price was very competitive. (It wasnt the ECM). Having the work done by someone capable and committed to success was good for peace of mind. Weve used the car daily for a month, about 400 miles, and all is well. Thanks Sam!

We have a Toyota Prius (Hybrid) that had an electrical problem where the headlamp wiring was loose and exposed, This caused major problems where the entire wiring system in the Prius had to be re-wired. It’s hard to find mechanics that work on Hybrid vehicles, most mechanics will not work on them. We found out about Sam’s through the internet and he was available to work on our car right away. Sam is a very knowledgeable mechanic, he did a fantastic job on our hybrid vehicle and since we have not experienced any problems with our car. We thank Sam for his professionalism and honesty. I really love this place, we’ve gone to so many auto repair shops in town but they are either too over priced or take too long to repair and sometimes don’t do the job right. They fixed my hybrid and for such a good price and if you have any other problems, they know how to handle it. Also to add, everything was fixed within a couple of hours (same day, everything repaired). So please come here!

Sam is very good at what his does. His diesel engine expertise is commendable. I took in my Diesel F450 and he was able to get it going within a week and the price he charged me was less than half of what other shops would have charged. Before Sams I had taken it to at least 3 shops and they could not figure out the problem. Highly recommend him. I am having my brother bring his Prius for repairs.

Dont forget to ask him to restoration Fully removes haze and corrosion from headlight lenses of your car if need, he and his worker will do it for you and they have been done pretty good job for headlight of my car. Exceedingly Excellent service!!! I have a 2007 Mazda 3 that kept making a rattling noise for the longest time. I took my car to Pep Boys, the Mazda dealership and another mechanic and none of these people could figure out the problem. In fact, they gave me different reasons which were totally not the problem so I decided to do my own research. I thought it was the sway bar links so I bought the parts and I took my car to Sam. Well after I told him the issue he took the time to inspect my car. After a few minutes of searching he found the problem!!! It was such a relief after having driven my car with that annoying sound for such a long time! Sam then took the time to fix the problem which were the brake pads that I had paid over $600 to the dealership to be installed. A piece of the pad had broken off on both sides of the back. He was able to successfully repair the problem and in doing so relieved me of so much stress! Sam is by far, the greatest mechanic I have ever encountered in the 10 years I have had my car. He cared enough about me and my car to get my problem fixed and I truly appreciate him. I dont tend to meet very many mechanics who do such a great job as he did. Some mechanics would not have taken the time to inspect my car for the problem as Sam did and would have replaced the sway bar links knowing there was nothing wrong with them. Sam told me there was nothing wrong with the sway bar links. If youre looking for an awesome mechanic who cares about your car and does excellent work, Sam is the man!

I have a Chevy Equinox that was making a funny noise.Sam checked it out and found the issue right away. Instead of immediately offering to fix it he suggested to take it to a muffler shop to see if the part could be welded. It wasnt, so Sam ordered the part and had it fixed in 1 day. Sam went above and beyond fixing the issue and it is running so perfectly now!!! Extremely satisfied!!

Sam is an awesome guy. I noticed he had 5 stars on here so I decided to go there. Hes very honest and is a legitimate mechanic. He seemed busy but went out of his way to help me out with questions. He even took my car on a test drive to see if anything was wrong. I recommend to anybody.

I was looking for a mechanic shop to fix my car. I was having problems with my car it was overheating and losing all the coolant.I came across Sams Auto Repair. He checked out my car and he told me it was the radiator. He actually showed me where the radiator was busted and leaking coolant from. He fixed my car the very next day. Since then i had to take it to him because my alternator went out and i had my car back the next day. He does very great quality work at an affordable cost. Even though he is very busy he makes time to get your car done quickly.

I can’t say how much I appreciate this man’s knowledge and honesty. Sam is not out to get rich off of customers. I took my diesel truck to a few other shops and all they did was scan for problems and immediately recommended parts, with a price tag of $1400-$1800. Not satisfied with their diagnosis I found Sam’s and gave them a call. I could tell by talking to him on the phone that he was about fixing the underlying problem, not just replacing parts and calling it a day. Long story short, Sam found the problem and saved me over $1100 in repairs. I wouldn’t hesitate to take anything to him!

BEST auto repair shop in town. I drive 30 mins from my house to get my car worked on here. Honest mechanic, no extra BS charges that you get at most places. I recommend this shop to all of my friends. I got my car fixed for $200 when the dealership wanted $1500, no joke.

Unfortunately, most have had the experience of a bad mechanic. Either failing to fix the problem, charging exorbitant prices or upselling you for things you dont need. THAT IS NOT THE CASE HERE, Sam and his staff are the exception to the rule. They went out of their way to diagnose the problem with my vehicle, worked with me to find alternate transportation and above all ensured they were giving me the best price for the part and their service. When you deal with Sam you will immediately see that he has honesty and integrity when dealing with his customers and a true passion for his work. Highly recommend!
