The staff at the front desk is super sweet and very helpful. They found my kiddos a counselor quickly and always answer any questions that I have. The counselors are awesome with my kids. The kids really enjoy coming and talking to them. The play therapy really helps my younger daughter. While playing chess and talking helps my older son. I recommend this place to anyone that may be going threw a difficult situation or even if you feel your person just needs someone to talk to...

It took me a really long time to find a great therapist, but once I did it was so worth it. This place is amazing and really cares about you and your well being. The staff is probably the kindest front desk staff Ive ever encountered. Also, if you have tricare, you dont have to pay for sessions. Really give this place a try, itll be worth it.

WTGC offers very important services for the people of our community. I have used their counseling services, volunteered for some of their programs and also attended some of their community events. These people exist to help and to get people help for their needs. I am proud to use their services and proud to know the kind people who work there.

The counselors here are so nice and caring, they take time to get to know you as well as any family there to support you through your rough patch. Also the receptionists are so sweet and call you by name immediately when you get there and know who you are the to see. Keep up the great work yall are doing.

Within the week they had us in with someone online. Ari didnt normally see children but she took us anyways. The online option is amazing to. My son really loves that he can sit at home in his comfort zone while we works with her. We did see Maryam while ari was away and she was amazing as well. They are really kind and my son feels like he is able to open up. Love them. If you need a place i would definitely say check it out. 💙

Over the years, Ive tried again and again to find someone equipped to tackle my complex PTSD. It should not be so hard to find a capable trauma-informed counselor!Im so thankful to have found Brent Dooley. His expertise and competency have helped me feel safe, find insight into the complexities of my emotional responses to trauma and find a strength and center I did not know I was capable of possessing. I understand myself better because of his hard, consistent work over the last year. His approach to EMDR has made all the difference.Highly recommend!

The people there are very friendly from the front desk to the counselors. I have been going here for a while and have had a wonderful experience with them.

As I write this I understand everyone’s experiences are different and I will caveat that whatever your expectations are for therapy, to make it known first session, with your therapist. I failed to do so and as a result I was met with multiple cancelled appointments by the therapist, sessions weren’t catered to my issues rather just a time filled with me sharing my week with no direction, the material given to me to work on had zero impact even though I was faithful in completing it. I also had my sessions often interrupted with the therapist receiving personal calls which was very annoying. Again, therapy works, just make your expectations known from the onslaught.

The counseling and staff are very helpful. I would recommend them to anyone in need of assistance.

My family loves this place it has helped with my childs behavior problems and I also go see someone for my anxiety.

Kristin Covey is AMAZING!!! Going to her was one of the best choices I have ever made! I was hesitant at first since she is still an interim (now not for much longer) but Ive seen 4 others throughout my life before her and hated going to counseling. I really didnt want to give it a chance again but a friend of mine talked me into it and its now been at least a year and a half that Ive been going and I dont plan to stop for a long time. Its like being able to go talk to one of your good friends once a week that has to keep all your stuff private. She makes you feel very comfortable talking with her. I honestly can say that I can really talk to her about anything and before I never trusted therapist near as much as I trust her. She never makes you feel like she is judging you in anyway. Totally down to earth! I would recommend her to everyone! She was born for this job.

I have always been welcomed with open arms here and made to feel as if the care is completely focused on me which is saying a lot with all the other people who are also cared for here. My counselors and the front desk have always been very professional, courteous and caring throughout every step of the way. I would highly recommend the services offered here.

Both my child and I went here for counseling. My son, even now 2 years later, is still angry, depressed and suicidal. The conselor he saw said he had none of those issues. These counselors seem like they just want to stick a bandaid on it and call it done.His counselor also made me pay for a class, that infact was free. The director said I shouldnt have been charged for any kind of parent exercise. I feel like thats just monetizing on patients and their parents. Horrible.My counselor basically told me to deal with the emotional and verbal abuse I was going thru at that time. I felt my woman counselor was inexperienced and didnt have much sense of knowledge for her role .

This place has earned back its 5 star from me. Years ago I would have given it 3 stars due to a rogue counselor who missed several scheduled appointments and the organization trying to keep my copays for those missed appointments. But after a severe issue, they worked to get me in as soon as possible. My new counselor is AMAZING and has helped me more than I thought possible!

I myself have been seen here and they have always been prompt in squeezing me in to be seen if I scheduled last minute. My son comes here as needed currently and I have never had to wait more than a week or two to get him seen from the time I made the call to the appointment. He enjoys coming and loves his counselor.

Honestly, brooke sport is probably the BEST person there to talk to trust me, and everyone here is very sweet and nice.

The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. Its not a place that you will feel uncomfortable. They really are understandable and listen to you. I recommend this agency to anyone seeking guidance for depression, feeling suicidal or just needing to talk to someone who cares.

My husband is a veteran and he has been seen at West Texas counseling guidance for a while and it has greatly helped him with issues since visiting with the counselors. I recommend anyone who can attend, especially for veterans. It is free if you can get it under the grant program. Everybody’s been very supportive and patient with him.

Everyone in the office is so helpful and nice very inviting and yet professional my daughter has completely loved everything visit and looks forward to everything visit counts down the days and hours

West Texas Counseling and Guidance began helping me in the late 70s. As a client in those early days, when it was Samaritan Counseling Center, I was a college student and happy it only cost me $ 5 a session. My therapist was great and helped me through a difficult time in my life when I felt so very lost. In the last few years WTGC has helped both my immediate and extended family with counseling services. I cant begin to express the appreciation I have for the work they do and the services they provide.

Dr. McCoy is well trained in cognitive behavior therapy.And he is very generous in working with Methodist Ministries. I amimproving greatly with his counseling.

Staff is exceptionally nice, and the counselors who work there are extremely attentive and caring. The atmosphere is very calming. They will do thei e clean and tidy all the time, they offer very reasonable rates and in addition to receiving exemplary counseling, you also get to see the historical cactus hotel of San Angelo.

Came here to bring a patient. I am a home health provider. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

This was by far the worst counseling experience I have ever had. We went in for family counseling. Terry F. asked inappropriate questions in front of a child, undermined our goals and family values, and discounted our feelings after asking how we felt. I truly wish we would not have stepped through her door. All we accomplished was paying for additional anger and frustration.

Called to inquire about counseling services, and was told by the receptionist that no counselors were taking any new patients. I replied with a bit of a dejected “Oh, ok...” and she began laughing like it was a joke. Glad to see the office staff takes mental health so seriously and acts so disrespectful. Definitely won’t waste my time trying to call here again.

I have been with West Texas for at least two years and I have to say the counselors I have worked and spoken with some just briefly, give a feeling of welcome and offer sage advice, while helping you find the niche that will allow one(at least myself) to begin to flourish again. They treat you as a human being, with emotions.
