My AC unit, after some 20 years, finally gave out. I searched the web and located Bowles Heating & Cooling. I called to set up an appointment for a tech to inspect our unit. After some investigation, it was determined that our unit had lost is Freon. Being that the unit was 20 years old, I decided to replace it with a new one. Nathan Bowles came by the next day and offered me three solutions. He was low pressure and merely presented the three options, and their pros and cons. I decided to go with the top of the line Trane unit. My wife has a medical condition that requires AC to allow her to have a good nights sleep. Nathan was very responsive to our need.His crew of Leo, Chris and Cesar, showed up on the day that I was given for installation. They arrived at 9 am and finished removal of old unit and installation of new inside unit and outdoor unit by 5 pm. They cleaned up the work area after completion of the install. Update- We have used Bowles again for a huge job and I wish I could leave more than 5 stars. We needed two HVAC units replaced, new duct work, an interior unit moved and a closet repurposed, an outside compressor moved, etc..... very extensive work. The owner, Mr. Bowles went over our house extensively to assess our situation and needs and told us detail by detail what needed to be done and was so patient in the midst of our crazy household, God bless him. We timed the work to be done over the Christmas 2019 holidays when we would be out of town. My daughter who came over to feed our cat every day took pictures of the daily progress and, expecting to see a torn up work zone, I was pleasantly surprised to see-every day- that they cleaned up and left the house clean. After the holidays even our neighbors commented on how diligently they worked and how nice they were..... which led to another neighbor using them the following week for his own HVAC replacement. We never feared anything was amiss and felt our home was in secure hands. They went above and beyond on everything- even fixing a totally unrelated item that was incorrectly installed, a fire hazard and something that needed to be addressed and repaired correctly. At the same time our a/c and heating units needed their scheduled preventive maintenance performed.Kevin, a service technician was dispatched and he immediately located the problem with my a/c. After replacing the filter he immediately performed the routine semi-annual maintenance on the two units using a check sheet to ensure nothing was missed. We had an inexperienced handyman from Home Advisor attempt to install our smart thermostat but he ended up breaking our furnace and not installing our thermostat. Oh...2020. Got in contact with Kevin from Bowles and he was able to come out after hours on a Saturday and fix everything within 20 minutes. A true godsend. We called them out on a Tuesday. They couldnt get out there until Thursday. The tech was knowledgeable about the unit. He had to replace a few parts. Got it going and left. We discovered that the gas was just filling the unit. We turned the gas off to the unit which made it unusable. Called them back and told them our issue and the valve was faulty which should have been discovered the first time. It was replaced and is working well at this time. Other than the price which I thought was high. We are satisfied with the work.

Thanks Bowles for being the best to deal with on heating and Cooling systems. We had used you previously for service so when we needed to replace our unit we called to get an estimate. Guy came by later that evening and educated us on systems and gave us 4 options with no pressure to buy and let us think on it for a few days to decide which option we wanted. I need to add that he came the same evening that we called at a convenient time for both my wife and I maybe not the most convenient for him. Youll said what you would do and did what you said all agreed on with a handshake. Pleasure to do business like that its far and few between these days. Our AC went out in late fall which was good timing since the outdoor temps were not too bad. We were therefore able to take our time making a decision about what to do and with which company. A service provider came out and measured our freon (or lack of, because we had none left). He gave a quote on replacing the freon and suggested we consider other options since the unit was installed in the early 90s and had a major coil leak. Nathan came back out and discussed different options and costs with us, and considering the future (we have been in San Angelo 2 yrs and plan on this house being our forever home) we chose to replace the unit now. Installation was quick and courteous, they cleaned up after their work and answered all of my husbands questions. Nathan kept us well informed through the whole process, including when he would come back to check on the work. My brand new trane furnace/ac was installed in one day 10/31/2019. I was happy to return home from work that day to a warm home. The wifi thermostat I highly recommend. All my friends are jealous. It gives you peace of mind when traveling away from your home. It allows you to monitor temp of your home 24/7, 365 days a year, super simple to operate.

Air Conditioner stopped working in 100+ spell. Called for a repair tech and one was dispatched within the hour. Initial diagnosis was that the condenser motor was not working. On further examination the tech discovered that a wire had come loose. Fixed quickly and inexpensively. I love the responsiveness and honesty of this company. Highly recommend them, we will used them if we have any other heating or cooling needs.

The roofers accidentally nailed through the copper ac line. I called after hours and the worker was able to make it to the house, solder the copper line and recharge the ac all in about an hour.

Bowles installed a new Trane variable speed AC/heating system on Nov 1st . I can not believe not only the difference in our comfort levels, but in addition my electric bill has dramatically decreased and the best observation is that before with the old system I’d be dusting four hours after our housekeeper left .... it’s been almost two weeks since our housekeeper cleaned and there is not ONE speck of dust on any of our bedroom furniture and I’m not near as congested at night ... this unit is quiet and we couldn’t be more pleased !!!!

Mr. Ricks came out ahead of time. He went straight to the compressor, checked the capacitor and found it failed. He had the replacement cap in the truck and replaced it. Checked pressures and came back inside to check some other parameters. All the while he was friendly and focused on his tasks. Our unit has been running since 2011 and the only problems (2) were the capacitors. Wed give them more stars if they were available. Just a great and dependable outfit.

Bowles Heating & Cooling: 2nd to None:I had a few estimates for a new HVAC system. Mr. Guy Bowles (OWNER) did one for Bowles H&C. During his thorough calculations, he pointed out items that were set up wrong with my current system & how he was going to correct them. This is something the other estimators did not do. This initially gave me the indication that his price was going to be way above the others. I was very impressed with his knowledge, confidence and customer service but most of all, I was impressed that his estimate was the most economical. Trane was also the brand that I was leaning towards in the first place.Deinstallation/Installation appeared to go according to plan. The installation team was professional and it all took place in a single day. A few days after, I had a water leak in the house when my water softener regenerated at 11:00pm. There was water everywhere in the entryway to my house. The cause was a fractured PVC line that was near the Trane Air Handler. I believe the install team was unaware of the damage.Anyway, to make a long story short, Mr. Guy Bowles assumed total responsibility and ownership of all costs in the cleanup and restoration of the damage. Just about everyday Guy called with concern of my satisfaction. He always asked me if there was anything else that I needed done. From the receptionist who answers every time I call with the best greeting, to his technicians, and Mr. Guy Bowles himself, you are in good hands. They are quick, efficient, knowledgeable, professional, very well priced, and the warranties they provide on their labor, parts, and services are beyond extraordinary. I have now had TWO brand new HVAC units with accessories installed in two separate homes. Both times I saw and spoke with all the same people who treated me as if we were family. Ive heard the horror stories about other companies here in San Angelo, and Ive been all over the world; do not mistake me when I say Bowles Heating and Cooling, Inc. is the superior place to call/go to for all HVAC needs and concerns. Heater went out during the coldest day of the year naturally. We contacted several contractors to price replacements, Guy educated us on ins and outs of HVAC and extremely competitive prices won us over! Electric bill has reduced and we never even notices the new HVAC is even on! We are very pleased with their service.

Our air conditioner broke and within a couple of hours, we had a technician from Bowles tell us our compressor was bad. They had a whole new system installed within 8 hours. Great job and thanks for cleaning up afterwards. New AC working great.

This company is absolutely horribly unreliable! I called once stating I was ready for a new unit because my air conditioner was going in and out. I spoke to a man where I gave my name and address in Ozona. I was told someone would call me back. Two to three weeks later I called again and mentioned I had called before with no response from the company. A woman answered that time and she claimed she didnt see where my call was logged. I told her I wanted a quote on a new unit. After giving my information again, she said someone would be calling soon. I mentioned I wanted to have someone look at the old unit first and she quickly changed her story and said it would be over 2 weeks before someone could come to Ozona. Apparently it was okay to travel to Ozona for a new unit but not okay to service. Here I sit over a month later with no air conditioner during this 100 plus temperatures and yet again NO response from Bowles.

Bowles Heating and Cooling have been wonderful to work with. Their response time is quick and they are very professional. I highly recommend this company.

We had a new heater and AC installed by Bowles. The whole process start to finish was great - excellent service. I cant say enough about the installers - they worked tirelessly on a 100 plus degree day!
