I was in Salt Lake City for a brief period and had the opportunity to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Eddie and the other instructors, as a white belt. Everyone was cordial and polite, and it was truly a welcoming community. The 2 hour sessions followed by open mat allowed me to train literally to my heart’s content (limit?). I can’t recommend Eddie and Fusion Academy enough!
Had a great time visiting Fusion Academy while passing through Salt Lake! The students were kind and welcoming, professor Eddie was attentive and gave great instruction, and the jiu jitsu is good! I had a blast. I just wish i would’ve taken classes earlier. Will definitely be back when I visit.
I stopped by as I was visiting Salt Lake and had a great time. The instructors were very knowledgeable and welcoming to all experience levels. I will definitely be stopping by again next time I am in the area.
I was in town for work and dropped in for a no gi class. Professor Eddie was very knowledgeable and welcoming, and he set a positive, respectful tone for the class. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend Fusion for anyone looking to train jiu jitsu in SLC.
I just dropped in to train for the night while passing through town and, had a great time. Everyone was friendly, and the coach was very knowledgeable.
Great gym, great teachers, big classes.
Great training with the fellas at Fusion. I’m from out of town and they welcomed me with open doors and a great class, thanks team!
Professor Eddie is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet! He will make you feel welcomed the moment you walk in the gym and actually makes an effort to get to know you.I was very impressed with his ability to remember my name. It may not mean much but I don’t remember anyone’s name so it means a lot to me.His Jiu Jitsu is fluid, his demeanor extremely friendly and his facility is very clean!I’d recommend Fusion Academy to anyone looking to start/improve their Jiu Jitsu and listen to cool Jiu Jitsu stories!
Very knowledgeable and passionate people. From day one Ive been excepted with no judgment. Everyone, staff and students want to see each other succeed. Every class has been a superb experience.
Training at this gym has been a blast. The coaches are very knowledgeable and ready to share that knowledge with anyone who walks through the door. The fellow athletes are friendly and quick to welcome newcomers. Ive rolled at a number of gyms around the US, and this gym definitely held its own. Ill be training here whenever I am in Salt Lake City.
Visiting from SF, and dropped in for a NoGi morning class. Awesome group, and couldn’t of been more welcoming. Defiantly recommend to anyone visiting, and if I lived here, this would be my academy. Thanks for the training guys!
I was in town for the day and was looking for a place to train before my flight. I dropped in on a no-gi class taught by Chris Wells. The guys were easy-going and great training partners to drill and roll with. Chris was a great instructor that showed valuable details that made each move easy to comprehend, drill, and repeat. Ill be back whenever Im in Salt Lake City. Thanks guys!
I train at Fusion every time I make it out to the city. Eddie and his team are always welcoming and great to work with. Eddie is a great Professor who always has the simple and effective answers to my many struggles. His instruction level is always spot on. Great spot to train, their class schedule is amazing. One can catch a class at almost any time of day, I cant wait to make it back out there! Thanks.
I was in Salt Lake City and was referred to Fusion BJJ by my instructor in Vegas. I went to a morning class with Professor Chris. Chris did an awesome job in going over the techniques for the day and really made sure that all of the students understood. Everyone else in the class were really welcoming and eager to learn. The facility was very clean as well. I would recommend this gym to anyone in the salt lake area and I’ll be back the next time I’m in salt lake.
Amazing school!! They all have so much skill and experience, and there is always a class I believe there is 19 a week. I can go to any class I would like and they are always willing to roll and work one on one after class, its great exercise and I learn something new everyday. They are all really nice people that will go easy on you if u ask😀 but definitely wear you out and barely be warming up if you need someone to push you. I definitely recommend this school, Daily 😜
Update: The lead instructor reached out to me after my review and was more than gracious in his attempts to address the situation I first encountered. I was actually humbled by his sincere engagement. With a leader like that, Im sure Ill be back again to make this a 5 star rating. I havent had the time to stop by but the owner and lead instructor is definitely a class act.Amazing class, amazing instructors, excellent teammates. A must train place if youre ever in Utah.
I was driving cross country and stopped by this gym. Friendly, clean environment. Fun, safe, skilled people to train with. Thanks Eddie, Shane and Chris for the time. If I found myself in salt lake full time I would make this my home gym.
I used to train here a few years ago before I moved. I stopped back in because I was visiting family in the area. The training and the people were just as great as when I left. Professor Eddie is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, its always great to train here when I’m in town.
I visited from out of town and Fusion Academy was very welcoming. Very detailed instruction. Good people. Rolls were very challenging. Id be glad to visit again whenever Im in town.
From Massachusetts and was visiting SLC to see a friend. Was referred to this academy and had a wonderful time. Well detailed class, challenging roles and everyone was humble/welcoming. Will be back next time I come out.
Brilliant martial artists and excellent company. These people are great. I just started here (having trained Karate for several years) and everyone is so respectfull and welcoming. The instructors are very skilled and the studio is well equipped with class times that accommodate all schedules. I highly recommend Fusion Academy.
Eddie and the team at Fusion Academy are extremely knowledgeable and always willing to take the time necessary to help introduce participants who are new to mixed martial arts to the skills they need to grow in the sport. They even help you get immersed in the culture and community. Thanks so much for the healthy learning environment.
There are many things I enjoy about to going to Fusion. But the biggest reason is the learning environment. The facility is in great shape and is clean. They offer numerous class times for both gi and no-go classes, which is great for my schedule. And all of the instructors and students are great to work with.
I have never been involved in BJJ and started knowing nothing. I have really enjoyed coming here and learning form great teachers. Great guys, good atmosphere. I felt that they were welcoming and kind to beginners and new students.
Great group of people here, instructors are helpful as well as fellow team mates, I always felt great after a tough day of training. If you are in SLC and want to learn bjj this place, fusion academy, is the place to go. I recently started school and dont have the time but I hope to get back to rolling as soon as I can
Loved it! Stopped in during my travels through Salt Lake City and was welcomed with open arms. Had kids training on one side while dedicated individuals practice on the other. Everyone was willing to help and seemed focused on better their skill set. They even had a new guy come in that particular day and they set a instructor to the side just to focus on him!....amazing environment, family focused and all with the honor of training and learning from the great Eddie Edmunds!!! Happy rolling everyone and remember a black belt is just a white belt that didn’t quit! Oss
I love the culture at this school. Eddie, and his students have made me feel welcome as a new student. I did not feel like a new piece of meat for them to beat on. I am new to BJJ and have simply fallen in love with this sport. If you have interest in BJJ this school is top notch. Highly recommend this program.
I’ve done Bjj, mma, and a variety of styles off and on for many years. I think atmosphere and culture are some of the most important factors. This gym just feels good. Friendly and safe. People definitely have skills too. Safe and enjoyable for many levels. Morning and night classes. Unlimited for a great rate. Fits my desire for a life long learning atmosphere with fun competition.
Ive been training there since January and the experience has been fantastic. The instructors are knowledgeable and the atmosphere is very positive. The student group has a great no ego attitude with everyone wanting to learn and get better together. Great place.
The best jiu-jitsu place in town! Eddie is a great instructor and gifted storyteller. People there are friendly and welcoming, I met some great friends there. Will recommend this place to everyone!
Travelling for work and stopped here to train. Excellent professors and training staff. Great learning and a lot of fun. Will come back again.
While visiting SLC, I dropped in for a class. What I found was a great group along with excellent instruction and an awesome facility. Can’t wait to visit again! Don’t hesitate if you’re looking for a place to train or start training!
Fantastic group of people, from day one everyone has been patient and generous with their time and their knowledge. Highly recommend this team to anyone looking to learn or continue their bjj progression.
Awesome centrally located academy. Excellent instruction. Friendly environment! Looking forward to continuing to train here over the years and keep improving on my BJJ.
Had a great seminar here! Eddie was an awesome instructor and trained with some really neat people. Definitely recommend.
Ive trained here for many years, and I will continue to train here until I am old and frail. Everyone is always welcome, and gives feedback on your progress. Many different skill levels are on the mat, so it always exposes you to different things to work on. Over the years Ive seen many people leave due to lifes obstacles, and Ive seen many come back. People come back because they feel comfortable here.Youll be challenged, and you should be.But you will also feel welcome.
Love this place. I was town for work and they let me train for free If I lived in SLC I would sign up here without a doubt.
Eddie and the instructors at Fusion are awesome, and so are the students. Even on the first day, I never felt like an outsider. Youll jump in where everyone else is in the training cycle, and the more experienced students that Ive drilled with have been happy to help out with tips and tweaks to technique. Its a fun environment and skill! If youre looking to start training Jiu Jitsu, it would be a mistake not to drop in and try a class at Fusion Academy.
I was visiting Salt Lake City and needed a place to train for a week. The universal unifying nature of jiu-jitsu is well manifested in this academy - I recieved a warm welcome from the instructors and students. I felt the gym having an easy-going and friendly training enviroment. I want to express gratitude toward professor Steffen Soller and professor Eddie Edmunds for the hours that I attended. I found the classes being well-structured providing a lot of detail. During rolls you would definitely encounter a lot of technic on the mat in this academy :) Thank you!
Dropped in here when I was travelling and had a good time. Very welcoming and friendly people here, prof Steve King is very knowlegable
A great gym with awesome people and instructors who know the art and etiquette behind an accomplished martial art, BJJ. Drop in for a good workout, meet some friends and make new experiences! I absolutely love coming to class.
I trained with Professor Edmunds at Fusion for a couple of years, and found his focus on the technical aspects of jujitsu to be fantastic. Since then, I’ve stopped training, but my son has been training there for more than three years. I’ve seen him grow in confidence, mental strength and maturity under Professor Edmunds. It’s a good mix of demand for performance and compassion for the youth. Due to his training, my son has successfully defended himself and his friends in various situations.
Great instructors and tons of classes to choose from to fit your schedule. I’ve been training there for over 3 years and love it!
Professor Edmunds is a fantastic instructor and a great person! The academys other instructors are very knowledgeable and very welcoming. There are no egos here and it is a great place to train jiu jitsu!
Excellent group of instructors clearly passionate for Jiu Jitsu. Whenever I’m confused on a move they’ll help with great attention to detail and make sure I’m not just going through the motion, but understand why and how the adjustments are needed. You pay on a monthly basis and can go to any of the many sessions, instead of committing to a specific day and time. This flexibility is perfect for my chaotic schedule
Good vibes here. Super friendly people who made me feel welcome right away. Solid techniques and good rolls. This will be my spot when in SLC. Oss!
What a great learning experience! I always pick up little details that really help my technique. Every time I leave Fusion I can’t wait to return.
Excellent instruction. Fun atmosphere. I am a visitor from AZ and got to spend the afternoon training with them while I was in town visiting family. Professor Eddie Edmunds and his students were extremely inviting and friendly. If anyone is looking for a place to learn Gracie Jiu Jitsu, Fusion academy will not disappoint. There was no ego on the mats. Lots of personal attention from the professor on fixing my technique. Thanks for a great workout.
Great instructors. Lots of classes to choose from. Great group of people with a wide range of experience.
Eddie is extremely knowledgeable and ensures a healthy and safe learning environment. Fusion academy provided a great introduction to the sport!
Always a pleasure to roll with Professor Edmunds. Tight technique and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Eddie is an amazing professor! I just started jiu jitsu four months ago and he has really helped my game progress quickly. Ive attended two of his seminars and he has a great team and a great environment.
I started at Fusion about 3 months ago... I couldnt say anything nicer about Eddie and all of the guys that train there.... its real deal technical BJJ training, with an emphasis on keeping new people safe and un-injured.... If your looking for practical self defense training, look no further! 100 stars!!!!!!!!
Came from out of town for work and wanted to train on my last night. Great group of folks to train with here, if your in town I recommend dropping in.
Stopped by Fusion Academy while in SLC for work to train with Eddie Edmunds and his team. Great people, great techniques, and great rolls! I definitely recommend training here if you live in town or stopping by for a roll if you are visiting!
Ive been training here for over 2 years now, and could not be more grateful to Professor Eddie, and to every one of the great instructors and students. Amazingly good culture! When Im not here, I wish I was. I was initially apprehensive to begin a martial art as an adult, but now my life is dramatically changed for the better! (Gotta say: Jiu-Jitsu is where its at..)Im honored to be part of Team Fusion =D
Great atmosphere, Eddie gives attention to everybody. Everyone was very helpful yo make sure I knew the movements.
Fusion Academy is a great learning environment. At no point in time are you given a narrow minded approach to martial arts. Instead, you are given everything you need to learn and make Jiu Jitsu work for you. Detailed instruction, enthusiastic training partners, and a laboratory in which to put what youve learned to work safely. The academy has a relaxed atmosphere that allows and promotes personal growth. You still have to put in work if you want to get good, but its a place where you can enjoy that process.
Eddie is an excellent teacher. It is always beneficial to spend time under his tutaligae.
I had a wonderful time rolling at Fusion. Chris, the instructor, clearly and patiently taught techniques that were useful for me as a white belt. Everybody that I rolled with was friendly and supportive.I was visiting SLC for business and emailed the Academy on short notice. Eddy, the owner, was quick to respond and invite me over for a morning session. This kind of hospitality is keeps me motivated about jiu-jitsu.
Great instructors, and an excellent environment to learn and gain experience, for adults during the adults classes and even better for the kids. Thanks Eddie and the team!
This is my favorite BJJ/Grappling gym. I have trained at many. These are the reasons I like it:1) Great instructors, they are knowledgeable and friendly, they answer all my questions well. Eddie is a fun guy and knows his stuff!2) Diverse curriculum - you can study traditional Gi, No Gi, take downs, and even some 10th planet stuff.3) They teach great material, stuff that really works, currently we are studying leg locks and I am really excited about this.4) Lots of opportunities to roll, the way they schedule classes means I can put in a lot of time rolling which is what I love to do.5) They have tons of classes which is great because I have been training often,6) The students are great, I am learning a lot because they have a team of great students who push me hard and have great attitudes.7) Great environment, I always have fun and enjoy interacting with my team mates people are welcoming and friendly.I have been progressing faster at this school than any other one I have studied at.
I was in Salt Lake City for a business trip and dropped in at Fusion BJJ for a 2 hours Gi class. Great instruction, plenty of technique review and 45 minutes of rolling made for a top notch experience.
I had a great experience my first time at Fusion Academy. I went to a three-hour seminar with students from the Roosevelt and Thermopolis affiliates, and learned a lot. Professor Edmunds is a great teacher. He does his best to help every student excel (even the old guys like me). Met some of the students at the open mat, and Im looking forward to coming back and rolling with them.
Eddie, the instructors, and students at Fusion Academy make you feel welcome. They provide a great environment to learn and practice Jiu Jitsu.
Solid group of individuals with great instruction several times per day.
Came in for noon class on Monday very friendly people enjoyed it a lot
Ive had my boys taking class at fusion since my now 21 year old son was 13 he immediately loved it, the instructors there have always been a wonderful support, example & influence for us, now my younger boys also love it! i drive all the way from magna 20 minutes past several other studios to bring them to fusion, i always will, i highly recomend fusion for you & your kids
Fusion Academy offers a great number of classes, in addition to a variety of both Gi and Nogi classes as well. I have been very pleased with how I have been treated and how much Ive already learned while attending the academy. All questions I have had are answered in a very intelligent and understandable manner, which is a big reason why I keep coming back. I highly recommend anyone who is interested in training the art of Jiu-Jitsu to give Team Fusion a shot. You wont regret it.
Welcoming and family friendly atmosphere, but with high level instruction. Varied class schedules (early mornings before work!) and welcoming to gi and no gi training. A great place for every family member (including families of one) to train and get really good at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Excellent detail oriented instruction. I choose to go with Fusion for many reasons but most of all the detail in which information in shared.
Great place! Everyone is awesome.
I always look forward to coming to classes at Fusion! Everyone at the studio is welcoming, the space is clean and I always feel safe training; classes are a lot of fun!
Great instructor and atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Definitely the best Jiujitsu school in the Salt Lake area.
Super friendly and welcoming. Solid guys!
The owner is a good guy and the classes are flexible.
I have been training here for close to a year now after moving from CA and a this is the place you need to be if you want to train Jiu Jitsu in Salt Lake. There is a solid group of guys that come regularly and there is a good mix of skill levels. The instructors are great and the academy is with the Pedro Sauer Jiu Jitsu Association (if you dont know who he is, Google him). This place is definitely worth checking out.
Came to utah from cali looking to get a workout and learn some techique these guys were knowledgable and didnt have any egos a good school. i will go back when im in town
Great facility and fantastic squad.
Great place to train!
Awesome people, friendly environment!
