On the coldest day of the year I discovered that I had a terminal illness. I can’t say which one but it was going to take me out slowly and painfully. I had to pick up some furnace parts for a customer and came in to Johnstone supply in tears. Crystal saw me and she comforted me like the baby that I am. She waved her hand across my forehead leaving a red home made paint across my brow and then held me up in the bright sun. I’m not sure why she did this but after I left I discovered I felt better. I went to my doctor months later and after a full day of tests they discovered my disease was gone. Thank you Johnstone supply and crystal. I am forever in your debt.

Johnstone is a supplier for contractors and professionals. I dont know whether or not they have accounts available for the general public. They sell to the installers and contractors who work with the general public. As such, there are different expectations for a company like Johnstone than say, a fast food joint. Within that realms of expectations, wait times happen commonly across the board. Prices are done differently as well. For those of us in their customer base, I would say that their service is great.

Was sent here by Aire-flow, who ordered a part to Will-call. When the manager (I assume, he was in an office) overheard me asking questions about the part, he came out and helped by explaining how to wire everything, even drawing a diagram for me. He then looked into the part and saw it was the wrong one, so called Aire-flow to get it changed. Incredibly helpful, great service. Couldnt be happier.

Joke of a company, Keeps you on hold for a half hour and then tells you they have what you need but will not sell to you.

You cannot buy anything from this place without a contractors license which is absurde. You can order most of these things from out of State.This is what you get when you have a corrupt Rublican state that does not believe in the free-market.

I use Johnstone Supply on a weekly basis. Lately the service quality has gone down. When you face the counter all the people to the right side of the counter are a major disappointment. I pay about $60-$80 premium for most parts I buy and I expect some level of expertise. Except the two guys on the left the rest of the employees need some training and reading to do. Every time I step in I pray to be called by one of the people on the left side of the counter.

Unfortunately, at one time or another, we all get to be THAT customer. The person with the difficult situation that takes longer than anyone wants to resolve. Today was my day. Fortunately I was helped by Mits. Mits waited while I resolved questions with a coworker over the phone, added new items to a will call order, collected all items, (including some stored in a separate building) and educated me on unfamiliar items. Thanks Mits! And thanks Johnstone.Note: This is a supplier to professionals. They ARE trained. Trained to listen to someone who knows what they want.Eric helped me today. He was very patient while I attempted to draw what I needed. Filled the order quickly and was helpful in every way.

We have been a customer of Johnstone Supply for over 40 years and have always found them to be helpful and competitively priced. A great business and good people!

Customer service here has dropped off the map. From my 30 years buying from them.

Be prepared to spend thirty minutes waiting EVEN IF THERE ARE NO OTHER CUSTOMERS! Customer service is lacking because the service associates lack experience and training. Prices are high anyway, you are better off using Grainger, RSD, or anywhere else.

I thought they were great. called in what I needed, it was ready when I pulled up. they handed it to me, was nice, back to work I went

We just opened an account here and came to grab 5 thermostats. Pointless sign in computer that didnt seem to speed anything up. Really made the place feel like a dmv or something. Watched 3 people who arrived after us get helped first. After standing awkwardly waiting for 20 minutes we were finally helped. Got the parts I needed, but it was not the most pleasant way to pick up a few items.

It is a supply house for licenced HVAC contractors. As such, its great. Slow service occasionally, but that happens everywhere.

Long time customer, they are very well stocked and extremely friendly. Great place.

I have been a devoted customer to Johnstone for 13 years even though their prices are generally higher than their competitors since they would sell to me when I was doing side jobs. It has been a awhile since I have been there and with my personal furnace having trouble they said that they would not sell me the ignitor or capacitor that I needed. Since I went out of my way to promote them before, I will go out of my way to let my former colleagues at Alliance Residential, NALS propery management, the State of Utah, University of Utah, and my current employer Salt Lake City International Airport know that Johnstone is too busy to sell parts and that their customer service is the worst in the proffession, helping regulars before others that were in line first at the counter and not bothering to work with their loyal customers. They would have got no stars if that were an option!

I was treated like i was bothering them for going to purchase from them. I would recommend RSD instead.

Thought about switching from Grainger because this location is so close. Yet, they are so rude and unhelpful. More ego than knowledge. Extremely disappointed in the way they treat customers.
