I only go to Dan when i get my hair cuts. Dan is a very professional, kind, patient, experienced barber and by far my favorite barber here at Trolley Square Barbers. Ill start off by saying that I have never visited this place before, but I know they have great reviews. So now Ill get to the point... I received a gift card a year and a half ago and have yet to use it. Then Covid-19 hit, which made it even more undesirable to go and use! So, now its time to get a haircut and I thought that I would check them out. I jumped on their website to see if they were even open. Well they are, maybe I should check the balance on the card? Well, the numbers dont match? So I call them... I asked if their gift cards expire? Well guess what? They expire after 12 months! Some people cant even grow a beard long enough to have groomed in 12 months! So... Im just sharing information, because no where on their gift card does it say expires after 12 months! The employee on the phone was very nice, but never asked how much was on the card or never offered to help me out in anyway! There goes 60 bucks down the drain!

Carlos has been cutting my hair now since 2015 & I can honestly say I have never walked away not satisfied with a haircut. He takes his time, cuts it right, & most importantly LISTENS to what you want to do. Too many barbers have their own “style” they try to apply to haircuts whereas Carlos just listens to what you want & then cuts it that way. He’s nice, respectful, always asking about how I am doing & is never a bore to chat with. I’ve gotten fohawks, skin fades, medium fades, lineups, you name it & every time he nails it. Can’t recommend Carlos enough. Definitely worth the visit to see what he’s all about! Try to book in advance his schedule fills up too

Wouldnt recommend. Got a fade that had visible lines so kind of defeats the purpose of a fade. The straight razor shave was horrible. The barber did not stretch out the skin so most of the hair just pulled. Missed a bunch of hair along the top lip and jawline towards the ears. 70 dollars when I get a better haircut at Cost Cutters and I shave myself with a straight razor so that goes without saying.

They take their time and don’t squeeze anyone in ever, even if it appears they have time, but they do a good job. The woman—Amy?— recommended a treatment for my son’s sensitive scalp issues that has helped him get rid of the red bumps. She is very knowledgeable. We waited a long time, but we were walking in from out of town.

Execution of my haircut was poor. Looked nothing like the picture I showed him or the requests I made. Random long pieces. Not blended. Much shorter than what I asked for. Used thinning shears at the scalp. I went home and fixed the cut in a three-way mirror. It’ll take two to three months to grow it into the shape I wanted. Not a good experience. I will give the barbershop a second chance, but will choose a different barber this time.

Fletcher Jacobs is the best barber Ive ever seen. He is so consistent with his work. He is professional in every way. We talk and have great rapport. I would recommend Fletcher to anyone who wants a great haircut and great service.

Poor, when I went in there was no one in lobby. Tried to get hair cut as a walk in around 3pm. Blond lady said no, shes about to close the shop.. they clearly say they close at 9pm. Only reason I went in at 3pm to make sure I had time. Online they had so much availability open.

Katie Boyle has been my go to barber for years! I am in my early 20’s and always get a bald fade and nice trim on top. Katie not only surprised me with how well she did the bald fade but I always find it so easy to talk to her and explain in detail what and how I want my hair done. To this day I’ve never been disappointed with her performance, I can tell she’s a true professional. Can’t go wrong with Katie! I feel bad because the first day I met her I judged her for being a women thinking that at a barbershop she wouldn’t know how to do this millennials hair... but WOW was I wrong. Dont make the same mistake and lose out on her making you look like a million bucks! GO TO KATIE!

I decided to try Trolley Square Barbers for three reasons: 1. Its a locally owned business and Id rather have the money I spend stay in the community I live in rather than going to a corporation located who knows where, 2. it is a true old school barber shop that does everything including straight razor cuts if you want, 3. you can walk right in, sit down in less than a minute and get a cut without having an app or being asked for all of your personal info that chain salons demand when you come in. I cant stand having to give over my personal data so that a chain salon can track me and sell my data. Fletcher did a great job cutting my hair and I plan on returning for my next cut.

Always loved bringing my brother here but today talking to Amy I was about to get myself a geisha shave for woman!! I had mentioned to her I have had them before! She is a big asset to this place she took amazing care of me and is the nicest person ever! We drive a bit to get here but always treated so well it is worth it!

People dont dress up to go to the movies anymore, we dont talk to people anymore unless its through a screen, and we get our hair cut at the nearest Dollar Cuts or similar salon. These guys have never given me a bad haircut and are more than happy to answer questions, address concerns, make recommendations about styles and/or products.Dont go here to get a haircut, you can do that anywhere. The shop is a nice and clean. The staff are hella cool, just real laid back. Carlos can really up it up with a good cut and line up. Chad also gives good cuts. I’m a fan of the old school barber feel with shoe shining and hot shaves. It’s not your super cuts pricing, but you get what you pay for, quality cut and great atmosphere.

The service here is second to none. Its nice to get a hot towel, hot cream and quality product. I am picky when it comes to allowing someone to trim my beard. I have been coming to Fletcher and he takes great care of me. I usually have him shave my head with a straight razor and clean my beard up. Hes worth every penny. I was really surprised with how clean the shave job comes out. Most barbers miss a few hairs or knick the skin but not Fletcher. He takes his time and I walk out looking pretty sharp for an Irish guy. If youre reading this review, give him a try. This must be the mens equivalent to a spa treatment.

I came into the shop to have my shoes shined by Adrian. The haircut was a last-minute decision, and Kevin had an opening before he went home for the day. Best haircut I have ever gotten! Kevin’s a great guy, and the whole staff seems to be genuinely awesome. So pleased with the service, and the atmosphere is old-school and modern at the same time. But man.. when there are customers in your shop might wanna not talk about what sexual activities youve been invited to... The face on the guy that was being cut was even uncomfortable. That is the reason for the missing star. Do your guy talk, but keep the professionalism there too guys. Not impressed at all with that aspect. But will continue to come to Dan in the future with husband and sons!

Ive had haircuts from both Jason and Fletcher, and always leave happy. Fletcher even did a great job to correct a lousy undercut that I got at Rays. The online appoint scheduling is easy, and Ive never had to wait around. I recommend them to all my friends.

Today my husband and son came here for the first time, and we never want to go anywhere else again. This is the absolute best barbershop in the Salt Lake Valley. The experience was flawless: we made appointments, and their barbers were ready for them as soon as we arrived. The place has a very classic, high-end feel. The haircuts were perfect, and the conversation during the haircut was great - comfortable, easy, and engaging. This place was recommended to us by someone who drives two hours to come here, and it is definitely worth the drive. The price is $20 for a kids cut and $25 for a mens cut, but it is worth SO much more. We will be coming here from now on.

First trip to the barber here and will be my last. They dont know and understand modern hair styles and how to cut semi longer hair. Granted the barber had only been cutting hair for a year, but should be no exception. I wanted to have my hair cleaned up in the back and he kept saying he needed to level it. Later when I got home I realized he shaved half of the back of my head its so uneven and terrible looking. Unless its combed over perfectly, and even then, it sticks out like a sore thumb because the rest of my hair is 6 long on top. Secondly, I left the place with hair all over my face and ears. It looks terrible and had to go to the bathroom after to clean up because he didnt do any of that there.

So I scheduled an appt for 11:30 am today, and as Im getting ready to leave the house our son has a freak accident getting off our trampoline. I figure I can drop off my wife and son at the Salt Lake Instacare on 9th East and still be relatively close to the barbershop although at this point I doubt Im going to arrive on time. Obviously the thought occurred that I should give them a call, but thats not always what happens when youre dealing with a screaming and bleeding 8 year old. So I pull up and run in 8 minutes late. I fully understand that Carlos is a master of his craft and the haircut most likely isnt happening, but I figure maybe they can fit me in later today or tomorrow. What I didnt expect is that I was going to be completely cold shouldered when I got there. Apparently theyve been trained to assume that if someone arrives late, theyve done it just to spite their existence. Literally I was a ghost to these people for nearly 10 minutes like they had taken it personally. Ive been coming here for over a year and was starting to feel like something of a regular, Ive gotten cuts from a little over half the barbers here, Ive recommended countless family and friends to get their hair cut here. Jason was literally five feet in front of me cutting someones hair and didt even acknowledge my presence, not a nod, no eye contact, not a simple hi. Chad was in the back corner and didnt say a thing, and another women Im unfamiliar with was also near the back cleaning up but wouldnt acknowledge my presence either. So I stood there twiddling my thumbs for nearly ten minutes when the woman finally came over to tell me what I already knew. I thought times were tough for barbershops during these times, but apparently these guys have it figured out to the point where even regulars are treated like strangers. But who knows, maybe Im setting the bar too high to expect that I be greeted or acknowledged where I choose to spend my money.

Its difficult to find a great, consistent haircut and experience for my boys. Their barbers were excellent and I would recommend them with enthusiasm to anyone. I will be a repeat customer for sure.

A friend recommended Carlos after I had a terrible time getting a good haircut for my 2 boys. For whatever reason, the stylists at those kid-friendly places just couldnt figure out their hair. Carlos listens patiently as my 6 year old explains which kind of spiky hair he wants each time, and he gives my 5 year old an easy to manage cut that looks great without much manipulation on my part. The shop has a nice atmosphere, its a great find.
