I moved to SLC 2 years ago, and this was one of the first businesses I visited.Very friendly, cool little shop. Emily is absolutely fantastic. Very personable, and does tremendous work. I would recommend her, and Blues without hesitation.

This shop is phenomenal! During these pandemic times, the barbers are taking extra precautions and going the extra mile. After every client, the barbers will sanitize everything that youll be touching/will be touching you, including the chair. Are they required to sanitize their chairs? No. But it means a lot and shows that they care about their clients.On to my actual service! Ive had my hair cut by Christian multiple times now and can confidently say that theyre the best cuts Ive had and I wont be going anywhere else. Hes kind, meticulous, and very efficient. He ensures that Im happy with what Ive received and will happily make any adjustments as we go along. After all is said and done I always leave more than satisfied.

Update:Kylie appears to be gone, which is a huge bummer, but what can you do. I booked an appointment with another barber. Showed her a picture of my last cut, she described what I thought was correct.It turns out shes in training (this was not communicated when booking), and my hair looks nothing like it did in the picture. Im not sure if it was due to mistakes when evening it out, or what, but it is at least 1.5 - 2 inches shorter than I like it, and I wasnt given any warning or asked what I thought before she went all-out with the length to cut. A more experienced barber came over, found a few places that were uneven, and I was sent on my way.Its sad, but I think I need to find a new shop now. This place was good because the quality was so consistent, but without my favorite barber Im not sure whos in training or who I can actually rely on now. This is the worst haircut Ive gotten in a long time, and if I had known I was getting someone in training I would have asked for another barber. Its a little insulting that theyre not telling customers and are charging full price for that, even besides the big mistake with the length.Original:One of the most solid shops in the valley.Kylie has surgical precision with hair, and is great for giving advice or recommendations too. The ambiance Of Blues is great and the staff is on point and has great customer service. As a family, we have been going to Emily Bytheway for 5 years to cut my hair and my two sons hair. She is amazing and is so talented and we have never had a bad haircut. We have filled her everywhere she has gone and are very happy she ended up at Blues.

L cuts a clean fade every time and has even started taking care of my picky teenage son. The location is convenient to many things and parking is easy. I am always happy with the cuts I get at Blues. I sat with El today, and as always, she did a wonderful job on my hair. It is not always the easiest, but she nailed it. Highly recommend her for a haircut.

The only place I go to get a haircut. I find that a good haircut is far less about the shop its self and more about finding a good barber that knows how to interpret what you describe when youre telling them what you want. Zoe is my barber of choice and the biggest reason I go. Shes got the cuts I want really dialed in. The place also just has a chill vibe with great tunes. The live up to the name by playing some blues while throwing in some good ole classic rock. It makes me just want to hang out there for a while. Four of those stars go to Zoe and the other one goes to the music, straight razor shaves, and hot towels they use.

I’ve only let 2 people ever cut my hair but I’m so glad I let Daisy. She’s somehow done it better than both of my other barbers (both 20+ years experience) and I’m never changing barbers again. I’ll schedule with Daisy everytime now!

The lady reached out to me for an interview and had spoke briefly before setting up the interview. She had said she felt I would be a great fit, etc. Well when I went in for the interview it was not really an interview at all, I was only there 5 minutes and 3 of that I was sitting in the backroom by myself; It was more interview-like when speaking over the phone with her previous. Then when she did finally contact me, she told me that they moved forward and chose a better fit....

I recently started going to Blues Barbershop and havent had a bad cut yet! I really enjoy the atmosphere of the place....it definitely will remind you of an old-time barbershop. They have great music playing and all of their barbers do a wonderful job. Theyre friendly and pay attention to the little details when it comes to cutting hair. I really like having Ell or Jayson cut my hair. Both do a phenomenal job and I always request them when Im due for a haircut. If you want a shave, they also offer these services as well. I have yet to get one but will give it a shot at some point (I am always clean-shaven). Their online scheduler is easy to use and helps you gauge how busy they are. I would recommend this place to anybody who is tired of going to the national haircut chains and getting bad cuts. Keep up the good work, Blues!

My husband insists on cutting my sons hair. It never comes out perfect and there is so much drama. So the last year I’ve taken him to a local Supercuts. Every cut seemed worse than the last. So my husband started cutting it again and no one was happy. Took a chance today on a real barber shop. I think my 14 year old felt at ease in such a cool place and Kylie gave my son the detail I needed and did a phenomenal job. I’m going back monthly from now on. Thanks!!

Today was my first time coming into the shop, as well as my first professional beard trim. Kirah did a great job making suggestions and made sure I was satisfied with the trim and it was up to her own standards. I also appreciated that they have more convenient hours than a lot of the local shops. I will definitely be back, my beard has never looked better!

Edit:After first being frustrated with the systems to get in, I at least understand the process now. I have been able to get in here multiple times now and have received a fantastic cut every time! I wish there was an option to wash my hair there as I always leave hairy even though they do their best to help mitigate it. Second they seriously need to upgrade their front seating. I am all for vintage but the seats there are painfully awkward and uncomfortable. Overall, I will keep coming back.

Traditional shop where anyone can feel at home.

My regular barbershop was booked and I needed a cut. My barber was very nice, the shop was cool and the cut was pretty good but, in my opinion, it was not worth $25 plus tip. Several spots of hair are uneven and I dont want to have to go back to get them fixed. Also, it is a red flag for me when I ask for a taper and am asked so, a number, 2 or 3? I expect that from a place like Great Clips but not a barbershop-especially at that price point. Again, not a terrible experience or cut by any means but it was not worth the price.

I absolutely love this shop, the staff are always helpful. And Kay is my go to person for my haircuts, if you want detail orientated and a barber that’ll leave you looking sharp, just ask to sit with Kay. Only downside is there are no appointments and you must call and ask to sit with someone. Not that big of a deal but appointments would be nice as well.

This was my first time here and after seeing other reviews for Kendra I scheduled an apt with her. I needed a professional looking cut and that’s what I left with. Easy to use online appointment set up. Wonderful service. Kind person. Nice environment. Fair price. Good hair cut. I’ll be returning.

This place is great. The barbers take their time, and really care about their work. They do a lot of little extras, too, like little cleanups of the ear lobes & eyebrows and a shave of the back of the neck & around the ears. They also use great products on your head and neck if you want them, hot towels and all sorts of great things. Oh, and the music in there is excellent.

Best barbershop In town. I have had 6+ haircuts here and each time I got someone new, but each new cut was still great. The hot towel is heaven. Cool atmosphere. All around a great experience.

Fantastic little barbershop in Holladay. I had been going to a local chain for some years and ended up with a bad barber and a bad haircut so I decided to try somewhere new. Once I got there, I was in a chair within 5 minutes and the staff is super friendly. Maisie did a fantastic job and took time to make it look just right. Great atmosphere, kind folks. Highly recommended.

All the art and pictures on the wall (especially the painting above the entryway) the vintage décor, and beautiful guitars, all really set a perfect atmosphere. Need I say the music in the Blues barbershop is perfect. Maisie cut my hair and she was amazing. Super happy with my haircut. It’s my second time here and I will definitely be back.

I had a great experience here. They were friendly, welcoming, and had me in a chair within a couple minutes of walking in the door. The atmosphere is very welcoming. It feels like a place you could just sit and shoot the breeze. Cody did a great job on my haircut as well. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Had to coach the barber in order to get a haircut near what I wanted. I explained very clearly the style I would like and say there forever waiting for the barber to start. When she offered to put product in my hair I couldnt even notice a difference. I had to ask for it shorter 4 times despite initially asking for a bald shave to a zero. Even now having left its still too long.

Ive had beard work done here now a handful of times and each has overall been a pleasant experience. The staff is friendly and the shop is clean. There can be a bit of a wait (Ive only had a cut/trim from Zoe and Kylie currently, but both knew what they were doing) and the check in process isnt my favorite, but its been worth it every time even if costs a little more. I cant speak for the hair cuts as I shave my head, but Id recommend anyone come by to get your beard cleaned up.

Kirah did an amazing job. Its been awhile since Ive had multiple haircuts from the same barber. After moving back to Utah from Washington I hadnt yet been able to find someone I trusted to do it right. Ill definitely be back.

I suspect they dont work with long hair often, because when I got home I noticed one side was nearly 2 inches longer than the other side. I had to have my wife fix it, because I just simply dont have time to go back in. They also chopped off way more than I anticipated. From what they showed me with their fingers before cutting to what they actually cut, it was literally inches more than I was shown that was chopped off. I wasnt ready to part with that much hair.On a brighter note, the beard trim and shaping was excellent. No complaints there. 2.5 stars would more accurately describe my review but since 2 is probably too low, 3 will do.

Been there for my last 3 haircuts and loved each one. Kylie was my last barber and she did an amazing job. My old barber retired after cutting my hair for 28 years. I wandered around from shop to shop, and now this is my new go-to barber.

Ive been going to Blues for over a year now. I always get a consistent cut and everyone asks me were I get my cuts. Great atmosphere. One of few places around that does straight razor shaves with hot shave cream. Good people, fast service.

An honest-to-god, real barber shop. A little pricey, but I keep returning because of the service. Check out their on-line reservation system. It works! The owner is a blues musician, thus the name as well as the ambient music.

Don’t bother with the online check-in. Website said 2 barbers were immediately available and 2 others had 20-30 min waits. Website even asked to confirm that I could be there within 30 minutes. After the 15 min drive to get there I was told it was over an hour wait. Completely misleading... No haircut is worth wasting 2 hours.

Everyone there is really friendly and very skilled & diligent when cutting hair. Best barbershop Ive ever been to!

Youll get a great hair cut here. The staff are easy to talk to. My issue was actually getting a hair cut. Ive been three times this month, and still have no hair cut. This happens because they are either closed on regular working days, or there is an hour or longer wait. It doesnt help that you cant call and schedule a time.

Stopped in for a beard trim. My barber listened and trimmed it perfectly. Also gave a wonderful face massage. I about fell asleep! Its a bit pricey, but worth it every once in a while

Never had a bad haircut here and the barbers are all great, but their appointment system is terrible. Been burned twice prompting the review. First time I never showed in the system and the second time (which happened to be in a row) there an hour behind schedule. If someone is an hour behind schedule call and let the customer know. Again never had a bad haircut.

Ive been going here for about a year now and my girl Zoe always hooks it up with a clean cut. Ive never been to a barbershop where I leave as satisfied as blues. My hair is difficult to cut so I appreciate the time and care Zoe puts that goes into my haircut when I walk in.

I love this place. Jerone has been in the Biz a long time and his staff is good at what they do. I dont go anywhere else.. It is first come first serve so you do have to be patient if you want a cut. If you are the type to grab a 10 minute cut on the go you should run to sport clips not Blues. Dont mind waiting for quality work.
