We’ve been pulling engines and transmissions from this yard for a few years now. I love the ease of checking in and checking out. It’s very smooth and the staff is always so friendly with short/small talk as we check out. Asking things like what are you guys working on? or how’s the shop? Friendly staff.The yard is organized and equipped well enough to meet my needs.The pictures I’ve included or my last rebuild. We pulled an engine from a 2005 Mazda 6 from this yard and put it in a car I bought off KSL that had a blown motor.Keep up the good work Tear Apart!

I dont give a 5 star to very many places but this place gets one for sure. There people are very helpful. They know whats in there yard. And very nice. They have a better selection then all the other places. I find more parts here than any other yards in the valley. Good luck part hunting.

I have to admit, I love this place. A willingness to get a little dirty can save you thousands.One suggested improvement: set up a bot that will alert subscribers when vehicles of their criteria enter the lots’ inventory.

Tear a part has wheels and plenty of tires, many different types of cars from old school to 2000s. Also you can use their tire buster if you only want the rim.

Big selection. With a little hunting I can usually find what I am looking for at a remarkable discount from the parts store and the mechanic.

Had a vehicle picked up for a pset price! Everything went smooth, no issues even after the tire went flat on the car I was scrapping.

So apparently a person can own and drive a car at or around 16 years old but they cannot enter this place to get parts to repair their car!

Been going here for years and I generally have a pretty good experience. Its nice to get a cash refund instead of store credit if you dont need something. It would be helpful if they would list the COLOR of the cars on their online inventory search, or even better put their inventory on Row52.com like the other self service yards in town.

It was a very easy in, asked for the location of a certain vehicle found the part I needed paid a fair price done deal

Great selection and prices I have been here three times so far and had a good experience each of those times. It may not be that way for every body all of the time though. The staff told me what cars they had in stock like the one I was fixing as well as when arriving they tell you what row to look for the vehicle in. It only cost $1 to enter if you are a do it yourself person you cannot beat that. Prices have always been fair as well. Only complaint is that one time, I have spent a good amount of time finding a vehicle that had been logged as being in one place then moved to another near by. Make sure you bring your own tools and come with a plan and they cannot tell you if certain parts are in stock so be aware you may get there only to find the part your after isnt there, or it is an automatic when you needed a manual transmission part. So it can be a gamble as they do not track this info for you but as I said well worth it speaking for myself.

Actually a lot of fun checking it out. And they had what I needed. Recommended.

Good luck pulling anything they wont let you use a reciprocating saw now so unless you just want battery terminal bolts go elsewhere

If you have a 9-5 your out of luck until the weekend because they close at get this...4:20 in the afternoon. The prices are pretty rediculous too, they definitely take advantage of having the part you need.I got her part... Even though the emergency fix had to wait until the next day so I could get off work early.

They have a very organized lot. They had exactly what I was looking for but I didnt have enough time to get it all before they closed so I had to come back a couple of days later. Thats when I found out about how they shred their cars after 30 days of them being on their salvage lot. The 3 cars I was salvaging from were all gone! They were shredded! So, if you find something you need make sure you get it or find out how long its been there if you are coming back later for it, otherwise you might lose it like I did.

After driving 🚗 all over the valley on a Sunday at all the automotive stores to find the part to put my Ford f350 back together on Sunday . I went over Tear a part and was able to locate the part that I was looking for. And the staff was very helpful 👍. And the part only cost was 2.00 to get in and .27 cents for the part.. and the truck was right up front by the doors.. thanks

On an engine last Sunday that was on sale price is posed to be $110 ended up paying 370 because they had closed and I had not been able to get the other accessible parts off or accessories they charged me $27 a piece for used fuel injectors God knows what else anyhow all accessory parts have been returned within 12 hours I have not been refunded my full amount kept the motor I was told it would be $160.17 out the motor instead I was refunded $160 decimal point 17 and charged $210 4 motor that was on sale for 110 dollars. I had to drive 130 miles to get to this so called Recycling yard not to mention they did not put the right Bank of motor on my receipt not good business well see if they make it right good luck I got if I buy from them again

The yard is fine, generally a little messier than the other places but sometimes I can find what Im looking for without having to turn a wrench because someone else already removed the part I need.Check-in and check out is fantastic here, there are usually 3 or 4 employees working the registers and I never have to wait, unlike the pick-n-pull which regularly takes 20 minutes standing in line to sign in.Please strongly reconsider the cash only entrance fee policy. Having to go across the street to the ATM because I didnt bring a dollar is irritating.The inventory on the website is usually accurate, however adding the vehicle VINs like the other yards would be fantastic. Using the VIN to get a manufacturer build sheet before hand is incredibly useful when Im looking for parts.

I called them to get a quote for my car and they were fast and helpful but I wanted to get a couple more quotes to see who would give me the best deal. I called them again a few days later to set up a pickup time and the offer changed by 20% (less) which is fine because I just want to get rid of this vehicle. The day of the pick up no one showed up and when I called to reschedule I got transferred a few times and sat on hold long enough that it would have been faster to just drive to the physical location. Would have been a great experience if they had followed through on their offer. Just give your car to kidney cars. Way easier to work with.

They ONLY take cash for admission to the yard--so primitive. It is $1 and because I did not have the one dollar, I was not let in. I was willing to pay for a part with my card, but the guy helping me was just interested in closing--it was 2 minutes before they stop letting people in. I just needed to know if the one truck they had in the yard had the bumper I needed--I drove all the way from Tooele for nothing. Bad customer service and not friendly people at all.

Would let me pay to enter with a debit card. There competition (pick&pull) will let you pay with a card. I wold recommend going there instead.

Cant ALWAYS find what you need but far more often than not and prices are usually better than the rest plus like the people. Just remember, everyone has a bad day but not so often there. Have been going since day one and will keep going

Terrible customer service and misleading price list. Went in today to get a pcm for my Ford Explorer since been looking all over for weeks to get the right one for my engine (accidentally bought the wrong one at pick and pull a week ago for $14.99) was feeling like it was finally my lucky day the price list said modules $10.99 so I thought I was saving a few bucks which is usually the case, get to the vehicle and yes its the engine I need my day is getting better and better, get t to the register to pay and punch to the face $61.00???? I point out the pricing on their list and get told that is because its a specific module. Im thinking what are all the other modules out there just generic and will do anything you need??? Of you course its specific and no where was it separately listed. The 2 people say the register were very rude about it when I said I couldnt pay that much since I drive for a living and without having a vehicle I was almost completely broke they just shrugged and tossed the part aside was if I was wasting their time. Ive been in numerous times over the last few months replacing several items trying to make my vehicle was nice and I could but I dont Ill ever return after today. Seriously 4x the price was pick n pull absolutely ridiculous

The worst check inventory ive ever ran into, please redo your web site to be at least as user friendly as your competitors. It takes me longer to get info of your web site tam to drive there and ask. Prices are fair for everything I bought, cars are plentiful, the only gripe I have is that the way cars are organized is a bit haphazard. But they give you a slip to find all the cars you are looking for.

Friendly staff and a ton of selection. $1 entrance fee keeps troublemakers out so stuff is in pretty good condition.

Bad experience from the minute I walked in the front door. They sent my wife back to the parking lot twice to change shoes and take her purse back to the car. I talked to them on the phone before I drove an hour to get there and they said they had a Ford Bronco and I could buy the tailgate off of it. When I got In the yard i found the Bronco and it was a Bronco 2, which is very different from the original Bronco. Between sending my wife back to the parking lot twice, and not telling me on the phone the crucial information that it was a Bronco 2, they dont inform people of anything. You basically just have to show up and hope for the best because they dont tell you anything about anything on the phone. Horrible service and huge waste of time, money, and gas.

Its definitely one of the better junkyards in the valley, Ive gone to a few others and the service wasnt as good. Also it appears that that they have a wider variety here which is awesome.

This place is a joke. They will actually turn you away from giving them money over $1. If you don’t have cash to get in you are screwed. I offered to pay them when I got my part and they would not do so. They turned a paying customer away over one dollar. Unbelievable.

Beware they find ever thing attached to the part u need so once you pay. Find the car take the part off and assume its going to be priced how they told u when u came in and nope wrong it wont be..... itll be double mate !!!

I love that you can check the inventory online before you go there. I was looking for the drivers seat for a Ford explorer. Found the exact model from a year older than mine in pristine condition. The cost was very fair and the employees are incredibly friendly! The yard is also very well maintained. Great place!

I still have yet to hear from anyone about how me and my girl was mistreated at the ogden one and when ogden called their slc location to verify the color they lied and said it was cherry instead of red.. I havent went back and wont go there again..

I got a quote from them for an old car and we set up a time for the pickup. They told me that on the day of pickup they would call me and confirm between 8:00-10:00 a.m.. The time came and went and no call. I called them at noon to find out what happened and they told me that something happened with the computer system and my appointment never got finalized. They set up another pick up time for me yesterday, Tuesday December 10, 2019, between 8:00 and 10:00. Again, the time passed and no call. I am now on hold with them as I write this review and have been for 52 minutes. Its amazing to hear their hold message tell me they strive for stellar customer service for about the 30th time.

Pretty decent place. They had what I needed and the prices were good but they get you with little up charges like environmental fee, core charges, etc... I bought a door, the mirror was broken but still attached. My choice was remove the mirror right then and there or pay for the mirror + the door and I could bring the mirror back later to return it. I didnt feel like taking the mirror off right then so I paid for it and will take it back later.

Love this place. But be careful I was here on their 50% off weekend for memorial day weekend and I was charged twice for a single switch that was in no way could be separated. It was a turn signal switch w/ wiper switch too. It cant be broken the guy working here charged me for both sides. Good thing it was a regular day it wouldve been 15.99 EA & been charged 32.00 plus what they charge for tax.

I called and talked to Cheran on the phone to see what theyd give me for my old junk car. She quoted an amount that was twice as much as the other yards I had called. I took it in, we put it on the scale, and they gave me an extra $25 more than the quote. It was easy, they were all very friendly and nice, and if I ever have a junk car again, this is where I will bring it to. Thanks!

Phone service is poor that’s why only 4 stars. If they improve their phone service and customer service (I guess the tow guy didn’t get the memo that we had a appointment) then I can do 5 stars. but they came out and took the car and paid me cash on the spot. I highly recommend this business.

I went with my grand son to get some parts for his car thay gave us paper map to find the cars the only thing was that we rented a bag of tools and it was missing the tool he needed thay said we could wait no thank y thay never offer a refund for the bag .but thay have what he needed so he went back with a truck to get the hood and fender

$2 fee to get in!! I called ahead and they said they had two of the cars I needed parts from. When I arrived, they only had one. I pulled a part from it, but it was a non working motorized part. When I showed up the next day at 8:30 a.m., there was a line of people. We waited 20 minutes but they still didnt open. There was no sign or reason given for it and I had to leave. Waste of time all around. Also realized that the part I bought used and had to pull myself was double the price you could buy it new online. Know your prices people and dont get ripped off by this place.

This place is awesome. The staff here are super friendly and competent and helpful. They always make sure to help you, theyre never just standing around. Also, as far as I know, this is the only junkyard that offers a 30-day money back guarantee followed by 90-day in-store credit! Everyone else is like 30-day credit only. That is why they are my favorite junkyard.The only thing I wish is that they had longer hours in the summer like Pick n Pull. 4:30 is so early by the time I get off work its too late.Other than that though they are awesome!

Cool place if your a mechanic or car junkie. Or in my case just like walking around seeing all of the different types of cars. However, they use to give you good money for salvaged or dead cars, now its pretty much highway robbery considering the amount of money They will get from parting out the vehicle.

This is the cleanest self-service yard around Salt Lake. I like their friendly staffs, clean and organized environment. The only thing that can be improved is adding inventory image for each car, so I can know what kind of cars and trims I need. I experienced good customer service here more than other yards!

This place is awesome. I think paying to go into the yard is dumb. But the only negative thing I have to say about my experience. I found my donor truck quickly. I pulled my parts. I checked out. In and out in 20 minutes. I bought stuff on their weekend special. Prices were the best I have ever had from a pull it yard. All of the employees were cool, if there is supposed racism here I sure didnt experience it.

Prices very high, cars picked clean. Hard to find parts. Ogden location much better. Watch your tools closely. Guy sneaking around trying to steal tools. Be careful.

Never been here. Show up with husband and have daughter with us. The lady greets us by asking “Are you guys going into the yard?”. Yes, we answer. She tells us we need closed toe shoes.. my husband had open toes.. No problem... we leave home to change his shoes.. come back.. together as we were the first time... she says to us... “Only you can go back, only 18 and older”. Seriously!! Thanks allot! My daughter and I would have stayed home when we left the first time! Great customer service!
