The management team here has been incredible to work with. They really pulled through when I had two days to apply for and move into a new apartment. That was above and beyond! And they’ve been so kind since. I even transferred apartments so I could sign a longer lease.I love the apartment itself. It’s definitely old, not modern, but it’s unique and has character. There’s a lot of storage areas in the apartment, which I appreciate. The south building has a beautiful courtyard to relax in. The location is convenient as well, a 6 minute walk to the grocery store, lots of bus stops, restaurants, bars, bookstores, parks, the Salt Lake Library, City Creek, etc. in walking distance. Plenty of parking around too.The lack of a star is because I had to do a lot of cleaning when I moved in to both apartments. Don’t expect damage free or pristine condition, again it’s a very old building. But it’s cozy and I like it anyway.

This is by far the worst place Ive ever lived. My girlfriend and I have lost power to our place 5 to 6 times in a month and a half... IM NOT OVEREXADRATING! Actually NUMBERS heres! Stay literally anywhere else even if it cost you $200 more a month, because youll save that in general in replacing lost groceries

Location, Location, Location! City Line is hands down the best bang for your buck considering it is in the heart of downtown! They grounds are well kept. The management and staff are professional and friendly and truly care about the tenants with is a HUGE breath of fresh air. Typically apartment staffers are robotic and insincere, but City Line truly looks out for the people living there! Oh... and did I mention the location?!

Ive lived here for about a year now and it’s been an overall good experience. Rent is cheap given the location and the office and maintenance teams are pretty reliable. I must warn you though DO NOT take the basement apartment! The heating pipe goes directly through it so you have no way of controlling the heat and you will bake down there! It would be a different story if they gave a discounted price but it’s the same price as the rest which have a bigger bathroom and can control the heat. Overall though it’s a good place to live but again DO NOT take the basement

First off, the management personnel was fine and treated us kindly throughout our stay. This review is not about them. This review is for the living conditions of this place. It is the actual owners who should be ashamed. Our apartment was not thoroughly cleaned prior to moving, despite cleaning fees being charged at move out. Stained carpets, greasy stove, rice underneath the stove, hair left around the bathroom, and random stuff throughout. Some of the neighbors were terrible. Im talking about parties lasting through the entire night. Above us, our neighbor next to us, parties out on the patio.Dog owners seldom picked up their dogs poop, and the grass of the patio area always had some left there. So many dogs live here that it causes yellow spots on the grasses from their urine. Beer cans often left around the patio area. I saw used condoms in the stairwells, twice. Dog feces, and urine (hoping it was dog urine) in the stairwells a few times. Dog feces dragged in by shoes. Once I saw the aftermath of a vagrant that blew his, um, diarrhea load in a alcove near the entrance to the parking garage structures. People would smoke cigarettes in their apartments. Marijuana smells in the hallways were a constant. Laundry facilities were often left with peoples clothes. People would leave their clothes in washers or dryers for hours after completion! This place was simply disgusting and some of the people were just low class trash. Some were good.I would never recommend this place to any friends or family. Location was great, and parking worked great for us. The only two positives. If the owners would just put some money in renovations, grounds maintenance, security (never saw security despite the claims there are patrols), and become absolutely strict on their policies this place could be gold.

BEST LOCATION! City Line is one of the most affordable place to live downtown or in the Avenues, and really has that downtown vibe, almost like San Fran or New York... almost. I can walk everywhere and it was really easy to get to know the city.AWESOME CHARACTER! I rented a one bedroom and this place is really cool. Im not a huge interior design guy but this building was built over 100 years ago and is full of charm. Pretty big rooms too, especially for downtown. I can hear my upstairs neighbor stomping around, but thats apartment lifeFRIENDLY STAFF Honestly, the negative reviews about management are not inline with my experience. The leasing staff and property manager are friendly, caring people. They are strict, but they are also fair. Its pretty simple; pay your rent on time and you will enjoy the staff just as much as you do the property. In closing, if you want to live in debate-ably the best location in SLC, reside in a beautiful, quaint building thats full of character, and you plan to pay your rent/be a responsible human being, I would not hesitate to sign a lease at the City Line Apartments!

I can not wait to move out of this horrible place. Their staff is unprofessional and truly do not care. The amount of homeless people who hang around both buildings knocking on your window along with drug addicts in the abandoned building next door not one thing is ever done. Anytime you have a complaint they will do nothing about it. Poor service poor management would not recommend anyone to live here it is not worth it

I recently moved out of CityLine Apartments. During my time there, I had to deal with other tenants who felt as though they were entitled to make rules regarding living there purely because they have been living there so long. One in particular made me feel very uncomfortable on multiple occasions, as he would confront me in the hallway wearing nothing but shorts. While I was living there, my dog was admittedly a nuisance when I was gone, as he has separation anxiety and would sometimes bark for a few minutes. However, even though I knew exactly how long he would bark while I was gone thanks to a camera I had set up in the apartment, my neighbors would continually send emails to the property manager claiming he would bark for hours and hours. In addition to this, I was able to start a collection of notes from other tenants telling me how Im a terrible person and how they hoped I would get evicted, and they often made threats to my dog. I feel as though management should have taken a stronger approach to ensuring this did not happen, as I felt very uncomfortable around the other individuals who lived in the complex, with a few key exceptions. It was a VERY hostile environment. There is also an extensive issue with vagrants in the area. On more than one instance, homeless individuals would be found loitering in the courtyard behind the building, and they would often knock over the cigarette butt disposal thing in order to try to find a butt they could still smoke. They can also be found rooting through the dumpsters regularly. Most alarmingly, as I was moving out, I was cleaning out my parking stall (which cost an additional $50/month, where my truck was also broken into TWICE) when I found a LOADED HANDGUN sitting in the corner of my stall. On top of all of that, there is a new guy who started at the property management office recently who deemed it necessary to charge me a nearly $50 cleaning fee on top of a $50 carpet cleaning fee, even though the apartment was spotless when I left. He informed me that it was very clean, but there was just a little bit of cleaning left to be done, so that justifies $50 fees I guess? I also had moved into my new place nearly a month before the end of my lease at Cityline, but they still are charging me the same amount for utilities as I paid when I lived there full-time. After digging with the same guy, I found that they charge for utilities based on the entire buildings usage. Keep in mind that there are some apartments that have three people living in them, which equates to much more utility usage. I practically didnt use my utilities at all during the last month, and they still want to charge me for the entire buildings usage (nearly $90). Needless to say, there is a lot of room for improvement here. The only reason Im giving it a three-star rating is because the actual property manager was very kind to let me vacate early under a very fair agreement, as I wanted to leave so that I would no longer be the target of hostility from my neighbors, be subject to the invasion of privacy from vagrants, and generally dislike the place where I lived. She was very helpful during the whole process, even going as far to try to help me find a new place. Oh, also the boiler is LOUD. It will come on in the middle of the night and keep you up. They really need to fix it.

You will never get any of your deposit back and will most likely be charged more on top of your deposit when you moved out. I left a perfectly clean apartment and got an invoice in the mail totally out of the blue for an additional $255 even after they told me in person there would be no additional charges. Then they lied about it and said they never had a conversation with me about it. They will screw you over in a heartbeat. Be careful dealing with these people! Also, beware of all the hidden fees in their 80 page lease. They will hit you with extra fees constantly with no explanation.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PROPERTY! The management is the absolute worse! I was on a 6 month lease, with no security deposit. A YEAR after moving out I received a phone call from the management telling me I owed them 1,700 dollars. They said they wanted me to know, and see if I wanted to pay it, before sending it to collections. Move forward another year and I receive a summons from them for 2,300 dollars (lawyer fees and interest) I went and got an itemized receipt from them, and they were billing me for 60 days of rent (for not giving a 60 day WRITTEN notice) paint, light bulbs, drip pans, cleaning, etc.. I moved out 30 days before my lease was up (but still payed through my lease term) and turned my keys in early. I asked them if there was anything else I needed to do, and they told me no that everything was good to go. I had time to make sure everything was spotless, since I moved out early. I was an excellent tenet, always paid my bills on time and never left the place a mess. These people are crooks! They want to scam you out of money every chance they can get, and are relentless in getting that money. Do not waste your time here, because it will come back and bite you in the butt in the end. I have lived in several places in SLC, and have NEVER had issues with a landlord, until this place. I have talked to several people who have lived in the city line apartments, or the lotus apartments, and have dealt with the same issues I am going through. And judging by these reviews I guess they seem to do this a lot. These people are snakes, and I would give zero stars if I could.P.S I forgot to mention that I did not have a parking spot, and received several parking tickets from the city, because you have to street park. You have to move your car every two hours (to a new street, not just a new parking spot on the same street) or else you get a ticket. I was told that I would be given a parking spot as soon as one was available when I signed my lease, and it wasnt until I angrily called them several times that they finally gave me a spot. Also they had left a note on the door at 60 days asking if I wanted to renew my lease, because they were changing management companies and rent would be increasing. I marked no and turned it in to the office. I considered that my written notice, and when they tried to bill me for it I asked them about the note. They told me they didnt have it and didnt know what I was talking about. (if you go look at the lotus apartment reviews, someone else had this exact same issue!) I still kick myself for not making a copy of it. I could go on and on about the issues I had with this place, but I would end up writing a novel.

I rolled into town 3.5 years ago with a uhaul trailer and couldn’t find a place. I came across Cityline and they got me into a second floor unit the next day in the South building which has bigger units than the North building. The approval process was easy and the deposit very very reasonable. The location is awesome! 7-11 is 125 feet away, a great coffee cafe called Nostalgia is 150 feet and then it just gets better. U R Downtown! I like indie films and Broadway theater is only a 7 minute walk. You can walk everywhere! My unit had all the charm of the 1930’s with built ins for my Asian collectibles to display and hardware from the era. Many units have wood floors, mine had vinyl that I thought was wood for a week or two. Lol But looked great. My main room was big enough for living room and workout area. The kitchen has room for in-kitchen dining.Maintenance was awesome! Cory, the super, leads the way on that and you just call in and he takes care of getting it done. I needed a new a/c... done, new ceiling fan... done, new coating on my tub... done. I think the old adage you get more with honey then vinegar works well here. Cory looks out for things. He worked with Mgt. and now they just put motion sensitive lighting in every garage unit. Big help! BTW, my issues were not all at once. I was here 3.5 years.Cityline gives you 3 days to pay your rent when it’s due. You can do everything on line including contracts, payments and maintenance requests. There are quiet hours and a number to call if there’s an issue. Units are very quiet side to side, you’ll hear some noise from the neighbors above but in 3.5 years I only had one bad neighbor above and she was out after a few months.I really enjoyed the incredible location and the staff and the walkability aspect and proximity to trax. I would walk 3 blocks and grab trax to the airport. Whoo hoo!Great neighbors who socialize in the Warmer months in the back fenced and lit garden area and everyone is real cool with each other. The media package worked for me. U bring your own modem and u get good internet, plus direct tv.So, If you want downtown living with easy access to work and shopping and especially if ure a foodie/indie film person, u will love it here!! I’m only moving to live overseas... GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!Thank you’s to Cityline and all the Staff!May 2019

Horrible! DO NOT LIVE HERE. I lived in Apartment #1 for 5 months. They will tell you rent is 900. It is actually 1100. That weird smell another review refers to is METH. The guy living right beside me smoked meth. I would have drug addicts knocking on my window at 3am because you need a key to get inside the building. I would confront them saying youre knocking on the wrong window and they would run inside to the guy living right beside me. The same individual would scream belligerently at the lady across the hall, on the same floor, almost every morning. Do not live in apt #1 or you will have that same experience. There was also a steam leak under my apt. It completely ruined my floor and paint. The floor was beyond warped. It had cracked open and the boards stood taller than six inches from the ground. Not to mention how hot my apartment was during the steam leak. Almost impossible to sleep in. I was not told of the steam leak until i reported the structural damage to my floor. I still paid full rent in these unlivable conditions with no remorse and fake apologies. In our day, you would not think you have to ask for something for individuals to do the right thing. I was wrong. The floor was warped in early January and when the floor was to be fixed in March (the last month of my lease) i was not aware i had to do manual labor and move the furniture myself. I assumed they would take care of it. I was wrong. We rescheduled and i attempted to move the furniture myself. The floor was so warped i could not completely open the living room door or kitchen door. It was impossible to do alone. I never received a call afterwards asking about the floor. They just waited to fix it the day after i moved out because leasing agents are never proactive in resolving issues during the dilemma. More than half my lease i lived in these horrible conditions.Comment on this review if you want more details (pics /videos). *Awaits fake apology*

My 4 year old sons dad lives here... His dad went from having a great immune system to being sick (literally) every time I see him. Every time my son spends dedicates time over there he returns with respiratory and/or GI issues; the most recent almost sent him to the hospital. Im concerned about environmental hazards in this building. I saw black mold and steam leak mentioned...Does anyone have any more information? Next step is to contact the health department--perhaps sick building syndrome??. Im very concerned for the safety and health of my son, and even that of his dads. Anyone else have health issues since living there?

Ok, things you need to know if youre considering living here. No AC, which would be ok if youre tolerant of heat and if there were a slight breeze every now and then (which theres not.) They will tell you that the church bells (which is not Mormon, as someone in previous comments suggested) go off twice a day. Lie. They go off very (very) often. No, I have not had the bad experience that other people seem to have had with management. Ive dealt with Kim (I think is her name) and shes been awesome. The place is small and theres a weird smell very often. and its not just the neighbors smoking pot (which also happens,) its a different one.Bottom line, if youre not very picky, hard to please and you try to pay rent on time I think you should be fine.

This company is the worst. They charge $150 late fee the first day rent is late. I moved out a month ago, after living there for five months and paying rent in full, and just received a $250 demand letter in the mail with a handful of vague charges. They require 60 days notice to move out with no reciprocal provision for the management company. Finally, we lived in a tiny, basement apartment and paid over $1,000 in rent. If youre looking for a place to rent, steer clear of this company. If I could give no stars, I would.

Will not work with you for late rent, even if its your employers fault. Theres a 150$ fee for late rent, and if you moved in with any special discount deal they will cancel that from what they told you when you moved in and tack on an extra 130$ (or however much) a month. They have no parking. You have to park on the road and move your car every 2 hours if you dont want to get a parking ticket or towed. The basements radiator is really loud, loud enough to wake you up in the middle of the night multiple different times. If theres a problem, they dont call, they would rather leave passive agressive notes outside of your apartment door. The only thing good about this apartment complex is everyone stays to themselves, probably because the area is so shady and sketch that everyone is too scared to talk to each other. They allow pets, they give them a yard to roam about in also The building where you pay rent has candy and coffee which is pretty cool. The management staff is rude. I called one time to get a Im doing something right now, let me call you back um, alright. So i called back and hour later, lady of course forgot to call me and answer my questions. The bells from the mormon chruch ring every hour i think, and they are loud. You can def tell they are there, i think on sundays they run til like 10 pm? Paying a ridiculous amount of money for a STUDIO apartment. If youre searching for an apartment, these may look promising but they try to trap you on things and once you move in, the staff is terrible and rude to you, then they replace the staff and they dont train them so you get put on hold while they try to figure out your question. When i move in, NO AIR CONDITIONER, the stove was broken...BE AWARE, THIS PLACE KINDA SUCKS
