More interested In selling a new furnace or exorbitant and unnecessary service. Our heater was cycling off improperly and the burner wouldn’t stay on. We called design comfort for a service call. The service man came to the house and on time and was kind. He looked at our 7-year old heater he said it would be tough to fix and recommended a new heater. $8-10k dollars or he could clean it for $2,500 and it would work well.I literally googled the symptoms the next day and some YouTube instructions told me exactly what to do. All it needed was to clean the flame sensor. Literally took 10 mins, a screwdriver and steel wool and it had worked perfectly for days.I think the service man was more interested in a commission on a new furnace than a simple fix.How could he not do such a basic fix? Google the problem first and I do not recommended design comfort.
My heat was not working. The technician arrived and I told him what has been the problem in the past. He did not fix it and told me I needed a new furnace. Charged me $225. I called another company, told them the same thing and it was fixed for $75. Design Comfort promised to refund me part of the $225 but did not.

My furnace broke in the middle of winter, but we only needed it to last two more months because of a home rebuild. They were very transparent with pricing and helped us think through replacing vs a somewhat expensive repair. I was impressed that they recommended the option that was less profitable for them. That degree of care for customer over profit will bring me back to them the next time I need any type of service they cover.

Great work over long hours per day to install a new furnace and AC. They got it done in 2.5 days after assessing the problem. I know its difficult when your hands get dirty on the job to keep the customers doors and walls clean but its very important to do so. They could have done better. They did wear shoe coverings to minimize dirt indoors.

Design Comfort installed zoned heating years ago in our home and they return every fall to check the system for the upcoming winter. In addition, they installed zoned air conditioning in our house this summer and we are very pleased with the new system. They are very friendly, always give a head’s up call that they are en route and are very professional. Highly recommend.

A technician, Ozzie, came to our home to do a scheduled check-up on our furnace. He was the most professional, friendly and knowledgeable tech that has ever come to do that. He answered all of our questions.Another employee came and evaluated some further work that we needed completed and to evaluate what we needed in an AC replacement. He also was very helpful and technically knowledgeable. It was starting to get hot and one of our air conditioners wasnt functioning. I called the office, scheduled an appointment, and had excellent service. Brendon was amazing and got new parts installed, explained everything he was doing, and had my office habitable by the end of day.

Dishonest and expensive. Dont know how they became a contracted vendor for Rocky Mountain Power. In June, they agreed to do a performance test and tune up. After the test and tune up, I was told I needed to have a condenser replaced for almost $1,000. Are you kidding me? My air conditioner was working great and still has worked great throughout the whole summer. I just thought it was time for a tune up. I asked what the technician did for the tune up and he couldnt give me a clear answer of what he actually did. So, I paid $217 for a tune up and performance test to have them tell me I needed to pay $1,000 for a condenser. Of course I didnt pay $1,000 and the AC is still working great. They are simply ripping people off with their agreement with Rocky Mountain Power. Never use them.
When the technician came out on the 14th of May to do the annual service and check on my air-conditioner he said a $104 part needed to be replaced. I agreed. He then spent several hours trying to figure out why the air conditioner did not work after replacing the part. He was unable to complete the service. Today one of the owners of the company came out to remedy the problem. After a couple of hours working on the unit, he told me that while he could repair the unit, he did not recommend putting any more money into the 23 year old appliance. I explained that for various reasons, I wanted to limit my expenditures and while acknowledging that the unit is VERY old and that its miraculous it is still working, I would prefer NOT to replace it. He then told me that for $297 he could guarantee that it will make it through the summer and possibly another year beyond that. I was thrilled! I have had previous experience with this company concerning my old furnaces and they have been very understanding and willing to make repairs that have kept the units running even though they are old and should ideally be replaced.
I was really happy with the experience level and can-do attitude of Mike, the tech they sent. There is just no substitute for people with great skills. You cant train that overnight. Very happy to have found them.

My experience with Design Comfort has always been very positive. They arrive at the scheduled time, and provide written estimates when replacing an air conditioner, furnace, or water heater. Ryan is my favorite installer. He takes the time needed to do the work well and explains what he is doing and why.
I have lived in two homes that has been serviced by Design Comfort. The techs are all very different. Matt who is my latest tech, has gone out of his way for me to schedule appointments where I dont have to take time off of work to be there. Matt discovering that I didnt have a piece of equipment on my hot water heater went back to the office and picked one up and brought it back and installed it for me long after he was off duty.

I love Design Comfort. My family has been customers for about 20 years. I just put in a new furnace and air conditioner. Mark went to a home owners association meeting with me to get permission for a high efficiency furnace. He brought a representative from Lenox to help explain the need for new ventilation. Ben was the main installer. He stayed at my place for over 12 hours to make sure I had heat the first night. Ryan helped him when they used a crane to put the air conditioner on the roof and Ryan and Mike came back to do my walk through and finish up some details. All the team members were engaging. They answered all my questions and explained the new systems. Denise offered to send me the paperwork I need to apply for my efficiency rebate and she and Mark both offered to help me if I have any problems with rebate. We lived in Holladay when we became customers but now I wouldnt go anywhere else even though I live in Sandy. Thank you Design Comfort for proving to me that customer service is not dead.

Not great - Came out for $75 which then became $225 to check on my non-working furnace and tell me what I had already told the Tech by phone. Then took me down the you need a new furnace for $4700 path! Refused to put in anything other than Factory Parts - (Lennox uses the same brand that I suggested - and available through Applicable Parts Wholesale (SLC-Based - they rock)). I ask they proceed w/the part installation (their part choice) anyway - but as I was not going to replace the entire furnace - they suddenly had limited availability to complete the job. The next day they found a furnace for me for $4100. I passed. Current furnace is operating correctly with parts replaced. I was willing to pay $$$ to have them replace the needed part. Too bad they were so set on selling me a new furnace. Makes me wonder how many furnaces get replaced unnecessarily by Design Comfort.
I have been using Design Comfort for almost 10 years. Every technician they have ever sent has been courteous, professional, thorough and explanatory. I will have them back again next year.

Its been a total nightmare dealing with this company from the frist phone call . I bought a service package for a year . So that made me a preferred customer . Customer service really sucks for this company, dispatchers can write down the right service plan to fix your air conditioning problem . Made the appointment know one bother to show up call in again all of there service technicians are busy so my appointment for 1pm went to whenever we showup . Call in 5 hours later got more of the same are service technicians are way too busy to service your unit. At 9:30 pm the 24 hour service went right out the window with a call saying we are not going to show up. Next day call in to see about what happen lead to the dispatcher saying maybe we can get a service technician out to fix your air conditioner but we dont really know when. So in the end I had a higher a different company because no one showed up from comfort design . Terrible terrible company they oughta be ashamed.
We had a second opinion visit today from Design Comfort after we had a Groupon from another furnace company. We try to be careful with our money. The technician from the groupon sponsored company told us that we had too high carbon monoxide levels in the house and we needed an immediate replacement of our current 9 y old furnace. He made us signed a waiver stating that I understood the health risks of carbon monoxide since I did not want him to shut down the furnace. We were offered a same day furnace replacement for the mere $6200!!! Fortunately, we tentatively scheduled it for Monday which gave us time to check the current warranty and had our regular furnace company check the furnace. The technician from Design Comfort was very good and came with a very high end carbon monoxide meter and checked every single gas appliance in the house. The end result was that the carbon monoxide reading of the ambient air was less than 1 ppm and therefore there was NO need for a new furnace. Glad we did not waste $6200. At best the unscrupulous technician used cheap instrumentation and used Groupon to make a big sell. He did not even suggest that we check our warranty. Use Design Comfort. We will never stray again from them. They are very competent and not pushy. We highly recommend them.
