I rarely post negative reviews of businesses as I usually give them the benefit of the doubt but this is not one of those occasions. I had a reservation made but was not informed their hours were changed. My reservation was at 12:00 and they close at 1:00. I showed up at 2:00 which seemed reasonable considering their regular hours were 9-5.Upon calling their customer service to see if there was anything I could do to pick up my reservation, I was transferred to a supervisor who rudely said it was MY responsibility to inform them I was running late?? When I showed up only 2 hours after the reservation time? Not only that, but when I asked about picking up the vehicle the next day, they said the vehicle I reserved would no longer be available. How is this even possible? Frustrated, I said I would try another rental service since they clearly would not be able to deliver what I was looking for and THEY hung up on me before I even finished my sentence. One of the most disrespectful and frustrating experiences Ive ever had with a business and I never even made it in the door. Avoid this company if you can, I wont be making this mistake again.
If I could give this place a zero, I would. We drove all the way down from Vancouver WA to pick up the size moving truck and car trailer we need for our move to Arizona. No one bothered to call us making us aware that the truck we had CONFIRMED would not be readily available for us at the CONFIRMED pick up time. Now after driving an hour out of our way, they are sending us to Portland. This is horrible customer service and delays our travel immensely.
I use to rent from Enterprise but lately they have gone down hill in customer service and more. I decided to try Avis/Budget and am really pleased with the experience. Avis does not charge a deposit fee on top of the amount for the rental; which definitely helps with the wallet. Where I rent (Salem, OR), theyre really friendly, great customer service, and the cars are clean. Avis also gives a military discount, which this veteran greatly appreciates. I think from now on I will be renting from Avis.
The customer service from the beginning was not great. Our check engine light of our moving truck came on a few minutes after leaving to which they informed us there was nothing they could do as they had no other trucks... we drove from Colorado to Oregon with a blinking check engine light, a poorly running engine, no fans at all (hot or cold), the truck was completely filthy inside and out. Needless to say it was more stress than anything. We will not be renting from here ever again, nor will we ever recommend this stress to anyone!

We reserved a truck with Budget months ago for a big move. We show up on the day of our move and they didnt have our truck. They said that they canceled it and were meaning to let us know. We had to scramble all over to find another company that could provide another truck for our move. This was beyond unprofessional. Communication is a key in business that Budget lacks.
The one in Salem oregon is very good. Helpful and works with you to get the best deal and save you money. They have vans now that have not been added to the website yet. I would recommend this place over any other rental service in the area. I would send all my family and friends there.
Had a reservation drove all the way there to find a note on door saying no cars available.
I returned my truck, and turned in my keys with my paper. They called me saying I never turned them in. They said I turned in my paper but not my key. I told them that I wrapped my key in the paper so there’s no way they couldn’t have gotten only half of what I gave. They charged me $300 for this. When I tried talking to Sashi Kumar, he hung up on me. The lady working there didn’t want to give me his name and was very short with me. Will never be renting from you guys again.
I rented here at the Salem Oregon airport Budget rental several times and every single time its been spot-on and wonderful very friendly people have always taken great care of me and great deals and prices
Reserved a small moving truck and the day I go to pick it up they give me a large truck instead because the size I ordered was no longer available. I complained as the large truck wont fit in the location I will be using it in and I saw multiple small trucks outside. The guy at the counter said one of those small trucks is being used by a homeless guy as storage and the other one hasnt been inspected yet. Eventually he gave me the uninspected one with half a tank of gas. I took it as I had to move out of my place ASAP. My first stop was to a gas station and as soon as I filled it up and started driving to my place, the low tire pressure signal started showing. I was anxious during the move about what else might be wrong that I returned it the following day with only half my stuff moved. I returned the truck to the same guy from the day before and he was contemplating charging me for not returning the truck with a full tank of gas. In the end he didnt, but how did he already forget that less than 24 hours ago he gave me the truck with half a tank?I should have learned my lesson then, but rented a minivan three months later. Everything was fine, until I returned it. I was overcharged for mileage and charged $25 for having 1.1 gallons less then when I received it. The lady attending to me at the time acknowledged the fuel meter was in the F range, but because it was not all the way to the right of the F, I would get charged. Fair enough, I guess, but $25? She admitted that that was too high and said she would contact me soon when she fixes both charges. Days pass and I got nothing. I called them and the same guy who was involved with the moving truck rental answered and when I explained the situation he said it was out of their control. Tired of dealing with them I decided to contact Budget customer service. They apologized for the trouble and refunded both amounts. Because of that, I may still deal with Budget in the future, but definitely not this location.

I only went to budget rental because online they say they accept prepaid card that they will just have to put $100 on hold once i arrived everything seemed to be ok. I also prepaid for my rental with my prepaid card just for me to get to the counter and the customer service guy to ask for a major credit card he was a bit snappy so i called customer service they say they are refunding me. ABSOLUTE FALSE ONLINE STATEMENT
I recently rented a car for a week from the Budget facility at Salem Airport. The staff was friendly and helpful, the car was clean, there was no line, and I was able to be on my way within minutes of my arrival. Upon my return, I inadvertently left a valuable personal item in the car. Within two days the manager of the facility called me personally to say that it had been discovered in the car. He arranged for its delivery to my mailbox within 24 hours. It was fully intact. I want to commend the people at this facility, especially, for their customer care, honesty and willingness to go the extra mile to help a customer.
Awesome people who really help without any hassles. Vehicles are always clean & ready to go on time. Good prices too compared to other rental companies.
We had reservations for a luxury car but we got a 4runner. The vehicle was obviously used by a dog owner as there was dog hair and nose prints all over the back window. After a trip to the car wash and vacuum it is ready for the trip. They seem understaffed.
This was a very fast and easy drop off for the end of our trip. The service was excellent and we enjoyed our entire trip from Omaha, NE, to Salem, OR. Thank you, Budget!I recommend and I will use their trucks again. :)
My recent car rental experience at Budget was very satisfactory. I got a better car than I was expecting, it got great gas mileage, the cost was very reasonable and the staff treated me professionally and did not subject me to any last minute hassle. The car performed well and returning it was pretty easy. I recommend Budget, based on this experience.
I have been here twice, and have gotten screwed both times. Once for a rental car that I reserved, when I got there they didnt have any cars available. And the second time when I reserved a moving truck, just to get there and them tell me they didnt have the truck I reserved. Youre better off going to U-haul and pay a little extra for what you need.

Easily made reservation online. Staff was very friendly and pickup took about 5 minutes. The car was great. Drop off was just as quick and easy. This really helped to make the trip more enjoyable.
Decent prices, but we had an issue where they didnt check the car back in when we returned it and WE got blamed.
The staff at Budget went out of their way to be helpful. I really appreciated the excellent service and will definitely use them again. I live in the area, but will refer my our-of-town guests renting vehicles Budgets way!
Car was very easy to pick up and staff was very friendly. My only complaint is that the car was filthy! It looked like it had never been cleaned and had stains on the seats and floors. There werent even any floor mats. I would recommend using Budget, will use them again.
Great value - rental was only half the price of the other locally available companies. I like the fact they rent the car with a full tank of gas and I simply have to fill it up before I return it. some of the other companies rent with a partial tank and then expect the car to be returned with the exact same amount. Try going into a gas station with 1/4 tank of gas and guesstimating how much to purchase to bring it up to 5/8 of a tank - a real nuisance.
If I could give this company less than 1 star I would. I booked a car for my wedding day transportation weeks in advance. On my wedding day I went to pick up the car and they told me that they were over booked and had no cars available. The man at the counter was rude and unapologetic. Told me to go book with a competitor which of course I couldnt because it was too late. Safe to say this company almost ruined my big day with their sloppy planning and lack of compassion. Never again will I rent from or recommend this company.

The trucks are in terrible condition and the manager Sashi makes promises to make it right and then he does not keep them!First Truck Rental had a terrible leak in the top from a previous damage that was improperly repaired. So when the rain stopped and we opened the door of the half loaded truck our boxes were completely soaked. at first we thought it was no big deal until we tried to pull the boxes out and they were so wet everything was falling out of the boxes! What a disaster... It was such a disaster we got nothing moved that weekend!Second truck rental the following weekend they were going to make it right by attempting to try and give us the same truck again. Thankfully we were able to get another truck after helping them offload the trailer that was connected. Truck seemed to be in good order as I checked everything and took the truck home and loaded it. We got the truck loaded just after Dark and when we went to leave found out the driver side headlight was pointing straight to the ground and the passenger side headlight was pointing straight up into the sky which made it impossible to see the road and drive the truck safely. We called emergency roadside service and were told that we would hear from them within 15 minutes to 2 hours. We never heard back from them... So we had to wait till the following morning to take the truck and ended up only getting one load done that weekend.We tried to call the Salem, OR location multiple times and could not get through.I spoke to the manager regarding the issues and he said that he would comp us a vehicle for the third attempt. I did not receive an email confirming our reservation so I became concerned and called. Discovered that there was no reservation made. After multiple phone calls to the National call center and the Salem location I finally got ahold of someone on Friday and was refused the comped truck that I was promised to make things right.Needless to say after 3 weeks and only one load moved our situation is in crisis! I am shocked at the terrible customer service at Budget Truck Rental in Salem, OregonI will never use Budget truck or car rental ever again!!
Reserved a truck the day before our move and received a confirmation email and pick up time. When we went into pick up the truck (several minutes before pick up time) they said they were over booked and no trucks available. They said our reservation didnt mean anything at that point. No one called or emailed us to let us know that there were would be no trucks available so we were left stranded on our moving day.Never will use this rental service again or will recommend it to anyone. Completely worthless.EDIT: I was charged several days later on my debit card $50 for being a no call no show to pick up the truck. I had to call service to demand a refund.
Kauai. Their shuttle bus was shared by 2 other agency’s, and there were not even close to enough shuttles. It was a mess, no line, just a rush of people to catch a shuttle.we finally rode alamo’s As they were right by them. The line was incredible. It was probably an hour to get our car. Then they asked if a ford something was ok, and we said yes, not know it was a compact and not the intermediate size we reserved. When we finally got done we had another half hour wait before the car was brought to us. Totally ridiculous and will not rent from them again. I’ll spend a few dollars more and stick with Alamo.
We had a very negative experience with Budget rental car at OHare airport. Was charged twice, once on the company card when reserving the car and second during car pick-up. Woman at the desk was rude and not informational. They refused to give us a receipt for the tollway using their I-Pass device quoting that the only way to get a receipt was through Illinois tollway sites. Ill tollway tells us that Budget lied to us. Not using this company any longer!

To start, I never ever right reviews, but I really could not just let this one go. We had a horrible experience with our budget truck coming from Houston, TX to Salem, OR. To the point were I walked into this budget location and immediately told the Sashi I was sorry because I was about to give him an ear full on all the issues that we had getting across country. Sashi was wonderful, I have to say he was the only true pleasant experience we had through the whole moving process. He explained to us how to get things done because the Houston location wasnt helping at all. He waited patiently while we called customer service and even talked to them in our behalf. I walked in that location thinking just like everything else I had gone through it was going to be a disaster as well. I could not have been more surprised. Sashi I cannot tell you how grateful we are for all your help yesterday. I know it couldnt have been fun listening to everything for two and a half hours. But you made the experience go from absolutely horrible to bearable. Thank you very much!

Dont make reservations. They set a reservation up AT closing. Traffic hit, 5 minutes late, no car. 150 for cancelation, 1000 for transfer to an open location. Dont pre-pay. In fact, dont fo business with them.
Rented a truck a couple days out. Drove from Corvallis to Salem to get the truck, got here at the designated time to find out the truck was broken down, they didn’t call in advanced to let us know that.
