Really disappointed. Asked for recommendations on the Salem mom’s Facebook group to get my 15 month old son’s hair cut. This place had great reviews from a few moms on the page. Booked an appointment for 10:30am. When I arrived I was told the barber was on his way. 25 mins later another dad and his young son walked out. I asked how much longer and was told another barber was finishing up and could take us next.10 mins later That barber came over and asked who was first (us or another guy who was waiting) I told him we had an appointment but ultimately he took the other person so we left. One of the barbers told me I should write on Google so the owner sees and I told him I would - but honestly I had already planned on it.I’m not one to write negative reviews but this experience was totally unprofessional and unacceptable. My son was crying by the time we left and we ended up at super cuts who did a wonderful job and we’re right on time.

These guys are the best place to get a Mens hair cut in New England. They know how to cut hair, beards and the surrounding shrubbery to make you look good. Not a place to get a 5 minute super cut. Great barbers, great environment, fun place to hang out, worth the time

Made an appointment for Saturday morning for my son to get a hair cut. My son has very thick hair and no one has ever given him a really great cut. I wanted to take him to a real Barber shop to get a good cut. We were greeted when we arrived and only waited for about 10 minutes. As my son was getting his cut, I was impressed with the work of the other barbers. David cut my sons hair and he did an awesome job! He was very meticulous. My son was also really happy with his cut....finally. David trimmed his brows too and they also look great. I WILL be going back with my son. I did read some of the negative reviews. I’m glad I did not read them before I went in because, it might have persuaded me not to go in. But, so glad we did. I told my husband he should go there to get his next cut and he said he would. Hopefully, moving forward we will continue to be happy with each visit!

I have been going here since they opened. Always a clean shop, great atmosphere and the best haircut around. I usually get a fade with a hard part and a lineup. I always recommend to anyone looking for a real quality cut for kids and adults. The price is very reasonable and the attention to detail that they provide is amazing. I have never had a negative experience here. Always good to call ahead, but I have seen them take walk ins quickly at times.

Came into this barber shop down on my luck, just finalized my divorce, not having a haircut in months. I saw Pedro and he told me after the haircut he gave me today, I would go out tonight, meet someone and have a fantastic time. Sure enough, that same night I went out to a bar, met an amazing woman who complimented my haircut, and we are still seeing each other to this day. Do yourself a favor, get your next haircut at the Starting Lineup, youll thank me after you wake up in a gorgeous womans bed the next morning. Thanks Pedro!!!

Starting Lineup is an awesome place. I havent had a proper cut in years. Twice now Ive been blown away at the professionalism and the quality of my experience. If you need a guy, ask for Kelvin. Very nice person and does a fantastic job.

These guy give awesome haircuts but I’ve waited an hour or more after my scheduled appointments to get in the chair on numerous occasions. I go there weekly and I always arrive a few minutes early for my appointment and I always tip very generously but about 60% of the time I end up waiting an unacceptable amount of time. I know things come up but I just seems to be excessive.

Professional, courteous, clean, and thorough. These guys do a great job. I have never had a bad experience here. I cannot recommend this place enough. I used to live closer to Starting Lineup, but now Ill drive 25 minutes to get a cut there and its completely worth it.

Tried giving 0 stars but google won’t let you. Worst barber we have ever been too. My husband asked for a 2 on the side and trim on top. They gave him a 1 on the side and cut over 2in off on the top. Then my Hanns asked them to line up his beard and they shaved it!! They were trimming his side burns and then decided to trim down (to the skin) his beard about 2in below the sideburn and my husband immediately told him to stop band asked what the hell he was doing??? By this point he was heated and his beard is destroyed, he basked for his neckline to be squared and the guy rounded it. Terrible service. My husband asked are you at least going to shave my face now that you destroyed my beard and they said that would be extra. He said he will not be paying and walked out. Hair is way too short is beard is destroyed. Terrible.

For only $18 they do the best job around. I won’t go anywhere else. It’s a good idea to call ahead and make an appointment. Definitely the best barbershop around. And they’ll straight razor you!

I followed my barber here who has been cutting my hair for the past 8 years. Everything about the shop is set up to accommodate you. I enjoy the friendly atmosphere and all the entertainment they have setup if you have to wait. Walk ins are ideal for me because I dont always have time to make appointments. This is another great option for a barbershop if you are looking to try a new place. I recommend this place to my friends and family of all ages, they are always excited with their results and look forward to their next visit.

Pleasant surprise! My normal barber was on vacation and I was in desperate need of a haircut. I walked in and was immediately greeted by Beto. He was very personable and professional. I was expecting my normal buzz cut, but what I got instead was just short of a masterpiece! I got an unexpected shave (no razor), eyebrow trim - with razor, neck shave, hydration lotion and he even cleaned up my ears (middle-aged french man with ear hair - ugh!). The price was very reasonable.Mind you, this was my first visit and I will return. My brother and nephew have been going here since they opened up. Their hair cuts always are on point. Recently I am very much disappointed which leads me to my 1 star rating. My boyfriend made an appointment with a barber. We arrived like 10 minutes ahead of his appointment. The barber decided to take on a walk-in right before we arrived. When my boyfriend first went as a walk-in he was made to wait until all appointments were done. I watched people walk in and out. But they took on a walk-in knowing my boyfriend was about to walk in for his appointment. I am disgusted with this place.

Real barber shop but not real barbers cutting hair. Expensive as F. $22 for a fade and beard trim. I wouldnt be complaining if I got the hot towel for that price and a fresh cut. Well no hot towel the Spanish guy cutting my hair was rude always on his phone cant cut or shave a straight line if his life depended on it. If I could rate this place a zero I wouldnt because a zero is better than what this barber shop deserves. I would give it a negative five (-5) rating. The owners of this place had a great idea by bringing a Lawerance style/feel barber shop to small town Salem. But they forgot to bring the barbers. Hands down I would never recommend this shop to any1, even my enemies. Never getting a cut here again.

Came in as a walk in, was not expecting to be taken right away but I was to my excitement. After I tell the barber I wanted to leave the same length up top and 2 on the sides he gets right to work. After a couple of minutes he turns me towards the mirror and asks if its alright, I said can we go a little shorter on the sides because I dont really know what I want but thought it might look better. He gets upset and says But you said 2 on the sides! I just get shocked and say ya no its fine, please finish up. After he does it looks alright, clean in the front and kinda nice. I pay him and tip well, about 7 bucks. When I get to a friends place a little later he says my hair is patchey on the back and not in a straight line. I look and its like he messed up, tried to fix it then didnt. Im not one to get upset but thats just unprofessional, hope it was a one time thing with just me but I am never coming back.

I have been coming to SL for a little over 6 months, and each time I arrive, I am greeted with a handshake and smile. I always make an appointment with the same person (Beto) and I am never let down by his attention to detail and service. I dont even have to tell him what I want, he just knows.If youre looking for a simple trim or the works, this is the place to come. This is my second review of SL, 1st was under my business name - Salem Vision Center, and my original words and this review obviously indicate they are consistent and true to service.

We saw David LeBron to get our son the Derry Demons logo and his jersey number on his head. He far exceeded our expectations. The cut came out incredible. So many compliments every where he goes. The price was extremely reasonable and he put a lot of work into it. We will definetly be returning !

Went there with my son to get haircuts on a Saturday....no one greets you but a bunch of people sitting down and barbers cutting hair. People continued to come in and sit right down with a barber even though we waited. This IS NOT a barbershop it does not take walkins I literally watched 20 appointments come in before us with no one saying anything. To boot the men cutting hair are rude as hell. I watched one barber leave for lunch come back with dominoes and proceed to check his phone and eat for well over a half hour.After an 1 hour 40 minutes I left. A guy came running out saying if we want to make an appt toThe following day we could. If that is the case the post the damn sign so everyone waiting not being told how it works can not waste their time.Absolutely ridiculous awful service. If you need a hair cut just google it there is about 25 barbershops on the strip to choose. Never recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely awful!!!!!

Zero Stars for sure, the other people in the comment section are friends of the owners and are just trying to hype this bs sad excuse of a barber shop for them. THIS PLACE SUCKS the guys working on the day I came in never acknowledged my presence and the place was empty when i walked in on a slow Tuesday morning. I sat down on the chair once i was approached 10 mins later I clearly explained to the barber what i wanted he continued to turn the chair so i could not see in the mirror by the time he said he was finished, i asked him if was kidding. I told him how upset i was because he could not even cut or shave a straight line. He told me i owed him $25 for the cut, i told him i was not happy with the cut and showed him along with other customers that walked out as i made a big deal of the situation. He asked me to leave and said that he would not charge me for the cut. if you do decided to go here just be very careful if you are not a regular idiot customer already.
