I walked in on a Saturday morning and was seated immediately. It is wise to call ahead for an appointment slot, but my experience was efficient and professional. Bill has 60 years experience cutting hair and has been at this location for decades. He is a Salem icon. His shop is full of golf trinkets and you can expect golf on the television in the waiting area. His chairs are surrounded by clear bright mirrors. Dont expect a neck shave but his beard trim is excellent. I will return.

This is the only place my fiancé will come to for a haircut. It has the nostalgic comfortable feel of an old fashioned barbershop, and Bill is a lot of fun and very skilled at his work. Even as the person sitting in the waiting area, I enjoy my time here.If you like talking/watching golf this place has that extra bonus because Bill loves it, and this place should be the top of your list.Edit:For the guy who was upset about paying $26.00 for a haircut, you are paying not only for the quality Bill gives but also the environment and personalized service he provides. Bill gives the place a Cheers feel - a place where everybody knows your name. Youd normally have to pay a lot more for the same elsewhere.Weve been charged more elsewhere for subpar work where the stylist didnt listen at all to my fiancés requests to the point where Ive had to fix it myself once we get home.The work and the experience at Gentlemens Choice is worth the money, especially to avoid those pushy time-is-money type places. If the price is too high for you, go cut it yourself; dont blame Bill for you wanting to save a couple bucks 😂

Bill is a neighborhood friendly guy, you have for years and you take your boy too. I give him the best review in this town so far.
